This is short and sweet by Newt. He was on with CBS This Morning today and was asked about gun control he pointed out that Obama’s home town is the murder capital of the US and that it’s illegal to have all the guns that are killing people in Chicago. He then said “If gun control works, Chicago ought to be safe,” which was awesome. What a salient point that just gets completely ignored by the MSM and types like Piers Morgan.

The media helped elect him. Americans like good speeches, and be told what they want to hear. They trusted Obama too much. Newt is a good speaker too, but didn’t have the support of the media.
Honestly? I thought Americans were more discerning than what I have seen so far. I guess people will have to learn the hard way.

I agree he accomplished a lot. That’s why so many people were surprised on his sanctioning an immoral issue like same sex marriage. What is it about sodomy that would cause a usually normal kind of person to give credibility to sodomy?
Jesus Christ created Newt, and you and me and the whole expanding universe. I would say He accomplished more than Newt, yet He said two men or two women laying down together (for sex, of course) was an abomination. I still like Newt, but if we’re going to have leaders that enact legislation for the glory of God, they cannot be part of doing the devil’s work. That makes them to be devil’s disciples. If you don’t agree with that, then go your way and I’ll go mine. Deal?

              Let’s not forget this, either:

              http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/63455-gingrich-endorses-scozzafava-in-ny-23-race

I think Newt regretted that one. I mean he defended his position, but to endorse a “moderate” anything is endorsing a RINO or an establishment GOPer. “Moderate”. That’s what McCain, Graham, Collins, and Snowe are considered. It’s in the past and perhaps he learned from it.

Anyway, the comment he made in the video about Chicago is thumbs-way-up in my book.

              • 1endtimes2020

I agree the video was very good.
Imagine Obama being in aplace, and tho under a lot of security, he is suddenly in a surprise attack by someone in his security, and he, Obama, is unarmed. Imagine Biden is a similar situation. I think of myself in that situation. It’s becoming more and more dangerous out there in the world. People sense evil everywhere—I hear that a lot. Have you ever heard the radio program coasttocoastam ??George Noory has built quite a following over the past 10 years. see http://www.coasttocoastam.com He said on today’s program that he feels there is a lot of evil growing more and more all the time.
With that reality, why would good people, in leadership, want to put the average citizen at a disadvantage, weapon-wise, vs the bad guys?
I question just how ‘good’ the leadership is, and what is their hidden agenda? What are they planning to put into effect over the next four years…this year will give us a lot of answers.
Personally, I don’t trust the Democrats, with the Republicans a close second. There’s way too much evidence that the world is working towards a one world government in a new world order, all for different reasons. I only feel real peace when I pray to God.

                • PatrickHenrysBody

According to Zero after his speech today, there is nothing to fear. Nobody is trying to take people’s guns away. He and his leftist authoritarian buddies aren’t tyrants. According to him, WE are the problem. In his view, we are all pundits, special interest groups, opportunists who make money off of opposing gun control measures, and merchants of fear. Of course, Zero is not in touch with reality…again. He thinks we are going to swallow the sewage he spills out and stand by and accept what he says to be truth. The man is an accomplished liar who cannot be trusted.

          • 1endtimes2020

I agree he accomplished a lot. That doesn’t give him a pass to give credibility to sodomy, by sanctioning same-sex marriage. Newt must know that both the old and new testaments call two men or two women ‘laying together’ (meaning having sex, of course) is ‘an abomination to GOD’ That should be good enough for anyone. Newt must know better. He should know that leaders who go along with immoral issues are doing the work of the devil. Newt says ‘God bless you and God bless the United States of America’ quite often. Surely those good words don’t go hand in hand with behaving like a devil’s disciple. The media, television programs and movies, etc who link homosexuality with being normal and ignore the word sin, have a profound influence on young minds. We know the homosexual activists will rob the once in a lifetime innocent childhood at the earliest possible age to achieve their agenda of indoctrinating as many children as possible, regardless of the wishes of their parents.
Those activists contribute to a plague of STD sexually transmitted diseases, including aids. Why would any politician of ‘good character’ want to join in those efforts?

    • bobemakk

You took the words right out of my mouth, the lamestream media ruined him. Newt was my first choice. He would have chewed up the opposition and spit them out (sorry for being a bit disgusting), but I truly believe this.

        How are you feeling?

      • 1endtimes2020

I still like Newt, but he’s not correct on everything.I like Ted Cruz, but would be very disappointed if he sanctioned same sex marriage too. Ignoring that grave sin that mocks God’s gift of sex to produce new souls for the glory of God and sharing the universe as siblings of the Father, can’t be good for the Future of America that Newt wrote about.

      • stage9

Agreed, if you’re not a fiscal AND social Conservative, get out of my face. You’re no better than an establishment RINO to me. It tells me that you don’t understand a single thing about what under-girds this nation. Without a moral framework, the fight is in vain.

        • capelady

Ironically, Newt Gingrich did more for the cause of conservatism in Washington DC as Speaker of the House than anyone else ever has! He balanced the budget, worked with Bill Clinton to get the most extensive welfare reform program in our history, he began to pay off the debt, he got the line item veto, he missed a balanced budget amendment by one vote in the Senate (the House passed it) and he would have had term limits but his own party blocked it in the House! But Newt is like Winston Churchill – brilliant men, but thinkers and problem solvers- and you can’t put him in a box. He knows how Washington and politics work and if he worked with Ted Kennedy it was to garnish attention for the project at hand. You can’t reduce him to 30 second soundbites – you have to get the whole picture.

Newt was the only primary candidate that could have beat Obama… and it was ignorant “conservatives” and the political class who hate him because he would have stopped their profligate spending as he did in 1994… that blocked him.

          Tragic for America.

      • 1endtimes2020

Ted Cruz seems to be a straight shooter. I hope we can last 4 years without too much damage. I believe the good ‘ol USA needs to retrieve all those basic jobs we sent to China. All the products people buy every day were first manufactured in the U.S. Now they’re made in Asia, mostly in China. Why would a government allow our manufacturers to shift jobs out of the country? I believe we elect representatives to represent our best interests. To protect us militarily and economically, just as China does. China would never send its jobs to the US.Imagine how much new revenue our governments would have. Even people dealing with illegal drugs would decline, as would abortions by women who think they can’t afford a baby.
I just cannot understand why this hasn’t been discussed by leaders and the ‘all knowing’ media. Why do we elect people who work against us, and meddle in foreign lands, at great cost in blood and treasure?
Imagine if the U.S. was a small populated country of 30 million. We would never have gone into the countries we did. Of course, we would would have contributed in world wars such as WW1 and WW2. But Vietnam and Afghanistan, Iraq and all the other 100 countries we have troops in? No way.
We need a government that will work for the people who elected them. A government ‘of the people, by the people and for the people’ of the United States ONLY. All the talk about debt, leftwing, rightwing, anti-christian attacks, and immorality would be more under the control of the good people. It used to be like that. It should be tried again.

I wonder if he really believed that. It’s should be difficult for someone to believe in gay marriage, and say God bless you at the same time.
see http://www.narth.com You will be surprised what 35 years of research on homosexual bonding reveals.

      • stage9

Yep, I read narth often. Also, http://www.massresistance.org

Narth is the data, M.R. is the evidence.

        • 1endtimes2020

Thanks for the info. I had written to the president of narth several years ago, asking why newspapers would not print my letters about narth’s report that stated there was no ‘gay’ gene. He answered with one word; “Politics”.

    • capelady

He did not come out in personal support of gay marriage. Newt is a realist and he said that with the current political climate and the way things are going he believes it is inevitable. There is a BIG difference. And it is our own fault because we allowed the liberal left to take over our public education system and indoctrinate American children for the last 50 years with all this stuff. Conservatives were asleep at the wheel. Young people are far more tolerant of the gay lifestyle and gay marriage because the left knew they would never change the adults – they had to get people when they were young. All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

      • 1endtimes2020

        He may not have come out in favor of samesex marriage, but saying he thought it was inevitable is not like saying he is against it, either. There’s something else to consider also;
Allowing two homosexual men or women to adopt children is irresponsible. Do you think they will not teach those children that their lifestyle is normal? Do you not believe some of those children will be sexually abused? Just wait until those children become adults and start suing the state for having placed them at risk, psycologically, and in health., as well as denying their basic instinct to want to have both a mother and father, and be denied to help fulfill an adult homosexual, sinful agenda that offends God and His gift of sex. For God’s sake THINK. Stop being a follower.

        • CapeLady

I hate to burst your bubble because I am a Christian too… but we allowed all of this to go too far and the horse is out of the barn. There is no way you are going to change it politically, barring a miracle move of God in the form of a massive revival and turning back to godly principles. Our society has moved to far in that direction and has been moving that way for almost 50 years with very little intervention from insular Christians who didn’t want to get involved.

So, don’t blast me or Newt for recognizing the facts about our popular culture, and all your railing about how it offends God and is a sin won’t make a bit of difference. Do you think these people care what you believe? As a matter of fact, they are succeeding in painting Christians as the radical right in this country… and we allowed it to happen.

It would be far more productive at this point to spend the time on your knees than criticizing Newt for being a pragmatist and recognizing political realities, which he is pretty experienced at.

And aren’t we supposed to be followers of Jesus Christ? There is nothing wrong with being a follower if you follow the right person.

          • 1endtimes2020

I have and continue to pray to turn things around. I communicate, without fear, as you do, but I believe nothing ever stays the same, and the world has always had cycles of being too evil for a while, and then getting back to being good again.
I won’t give up, or cave in that the evil people will win by default.
I realize God is in control, and allows people to run their own lives without considering His commanadments. Sooner or later, people realize there are consequences to all actions, and learn that they need God. I also believe doing good produces more good, and doing evil produces more evil. When a person has the attention of millions of people at a time, it’s imperative that the credibility factor be brought up, whether people care about sin and offending God or not.
Now, what would you do if you were being interviewed on national television. Would you say samesex marriage is inevitable, or would you try to bring in a discussion with the host about the harmful effects of sodomy? From what I have seen many times, as soon as someone tried to begin a discussion about the consequences of sodomy, or abortion, the interview ended very quickly.
Anyway, I call it the way I see it, and it’s okay if you disagree with me.

    • TexasPGRRider

Please give a reference, I haven`t heard this before.

    • 3seven77

Yep. I noticed how fast she interrupted Newt trying to get him off the subject. Norah O’Donnell ranks right up there with Andrea Mitchell and Candy Cowley as a political hack. She’s learned her job well.

  • JerrymB

He was certainly cut off quickly! You get someone saying something sensible, then the MSM cuts them off mid-sentence. That’s why I DO NOT get my daily news from CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and the others. It is dire in USA when you can no longer put any trust in our major media sources.

    • badbadlibs

I was about to post the same observation. Talking sense to or on the MSM is forbidden. Wouldn’t want the truth getting out there too often, it’ll mess up their nightmare…er, dream of a gun free world.

    • Joengima

But isn’t that the way we combat the narrative? We MUST confront them on their own turf. If we let them isolate us to safe harbors for our messaging, the word doesn’t seep through to the uninformed.

Every articulate Republican (Frankly the Tea Party Leaders should do this too) should go on these Liberal shows and flip the argument.

How can you legally stop someone from illegally using a Gun?

If banning works, how come we still sell Alcohol?

    • 1endtimes2020

We hear news never reported by those networks when we watch the 700 Club and other religious programs that cable suppliers qualify ahead of time by calling those programs “commercials”. When was the last time you heard the mainstream networks show the killing of Christians in the muslim-dominated countries? Or that there is not one Christian church left in Afghanistan or Iraq? Or the actual crucifixion, on crosses, of Christians in Egypt, where the ‘spring’ took place and that Obama gave 2 billion dollars to the terrorist leader, “Marsi”? Newt sure didn’t bring it up. What politician did.? Yet there have been Christians who fought and died in Iraq and Afghanistan to free women and young girls from their cowardly males, who abused them. Where were the feminists to criticize muslims? It’s much, much safer to criticize Christianity—the only religion created by our Saviour that helped develop western countries. Now muslims are flocking here, including 70,000 from Saudi Arabia, of all places, and who knows what damage they ‘eventually’ will do to America? All these things run into each other. We are a very sinful nation and we are getting the leadership we deserve, regardless which side of the political spectrum you choose. The sad part is that the consequences of sin is put on the backburner, if at all.

01-11-13 “Two slain teenagers were among at least six people shot in Chicago from Friday afternoon through early Saturday.

According to DNAinfo Chicago, 14-year-old Rey Dorantes was sitting on the front porch of his family’s home around 11:50 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of West Augusta Boulevard in the Humboldt Park neighborhood when two males approached him and opened fire…”

          • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

Yes. Which brings on a rant (sorry).

This is the battlespace. The polarization in this country is so bad, that millions of people have simply accepted the media’s portrayals of the right. It’s exactly what happened to the Jews in Germany (and repeats once again right now, here and in Europe). They use blood libels against their fellow citizens because they have no principles. It needs to be pushed back in their faces.

Their racism is the rancid leftovers from years of Jim Crow and the racist Democrats in the North who fought against the grants of land to freed slaves (see Andrew Johnson’s presidency).

It’s the only racism left in America. They need to face up to to it for the ugliness that it is.

The only minority that matters is the individual. This is what the American experiment was about. It’s both sad and ironic to see Democrat/Progressives trying to end individual sovereignty.

  • Nukeman60

Simply stated. End of story. It’s very telling that they weren’t interested at all in the comment about Chicago, but hey, let’s talk about the appropriateness of a program that might give gun safety to children. Perhaps, gun safety classes should be banned. What do you think, libs?

Tell me why this man isn’t being used to help with the GOP’s messaging?

Whether you agree or disagree with him via past/politics he has the ability to flip the Liberal Narrative perfectly.

    • Nukeman60

John Boehner was part of the cabal that ousted Gingrich back in the 90s. There is no love lost there. Even though I have always liked what Newt has had to say, knowing that Boehner conspired with Pelosi against him magnifies my respect for Newt.

      • Joengima

I understand that completely. Which is why it’s so appalling that the GOP members were willing to strip Newt of the Speakership but not Boehner.

        • aposematic

          …eye opening…

        • cabensg

It was another case of demonization by the press. GOP members who wanted him out knew they could get away with it because the press was behind them. The press did to Newt the same thing they did to Bush and will do to anyone who is against their socialist agenda.

    • aposematic

      Gosh I hope that’s rhetorical… I wouldn’t want to get kicked off RS…

    • cabensg

Boehner has a personal grudge against Gingrich dating back to when Newt ran roughshod over anyone who didn’t co-operate with getting the conservative message out and applied even if it meant shutting down the government, which under Newt they did three times until Clinton agreed to their demands. Establishment Republicans hate Newt as do most of the so called conservative talking heads.

  • Sober_Thinking

Lol… CBS and all these wretched criminal enabler news rags are trying to bring folks on who represent the right or right-side thinking, in order to debase them or punch holes in their opinions/commentary so they can perpetuate the lies of the left.

Not one of those lame stream media rags is interested in serious investigative journalism or honest discussion about gun control or gun safety. They lazily accept whatever Media Matters spews out, or NY Slimes, etc. – they are not honest with America whatsoever. While it wasn’t as blatant here… this woman is among those who gleefully and regularly pimp the left’s agenda and talking points. Notice she wanted to focus on the evil NRA and their evil app?

The media is the biggest threat to this nation. I appreciate that Newt didn’t take the bait.

    • 1endtimes2020

Your description of the psycology of the media is excellent.

      • Sober_Thinking

        :)

Yeah, let’s see some confiscation of illegal guns in the inner cities going on before they tell law abiding citizens to give up their 2nd amendment rights.

  • sjmom

Newt cut to the quick on this one and as far as I have seen was the first person to equate Chicago’s strict gun laws with the number of murders to show how ineffective gun laws are.

  • Rshill7

Sit down little feller and let me tell you a story.

When I was a kid, not much older than you are right now, there were people we used to call reporters.

“Reporters? What’s did they do Mister?”

Well, they cared about facts and figures and seemed intent on telling other people the truth, on radio, television and in newspapers. You know what truth is right?

    “I think so.”

Truth was something that could not be denied you know? Something that was, well, true.

“Is truth kind like what you are telling me now?”

Yes, it was just like this. For example, if I told you I could fly, hover, and suspend gravity anytime I chose, would that be true?

“Hahaha, no sir. But what happened to those who would report the truth.”

    They died off.

“Are there no more of these reporters sir?”

There are, but they are few and far between.

    “That’s sad isn’t it?”

Yes it is. Hey, why don’t you grab that baseball bat and we’ll go out an hit a few. It’s what’s left of our Second Amendment. Most folks use them for protection now, but since we’re talking about the good old days, let’s play that ancient sport we used to call baseball.”

“OK. But I heard baseballs used to be hard and solid. I read it in an old New Yorker I found in the attic last year.”

Ha(!), yeah, things change. Bring that old glove too will ya’. It’s in the glass display case on the mantle. Careful now.

    • DebbyX

And don’t forget to tell junior about football, will ya’. That violent game where big guys went out on a field and bashed their heads so that when they got older they saw tweety birds overhead!

Ah, the good ol’ days :)

    • 1endtimes2020

It used to be that editors made sure the truth was verified and confirmed. No ‘opinions’ allowed, or biased reporting, or compromising, or trying to ‘balance’ a story.
Now it seems reporters take direction from editors to make leftwing agendas look good and rightwing anything look bad.
Now, what sort of socialist professors have universities hired to teach journalism. ????

  • 1endtimes2020

CBS should try to understand this; Obama’s idea of gun control is for new controls to be applied to the people who put him in office, but his entourage to be fully armed to ‘protect’ him against us I suppose.

  • WordsFailMe

Conservatives_ still think they win something when they make a argument. Wow, Newt, I’ll bet Hobammy is really smartin’ from that snappy rejoinder…

If this kind of cogent, erudite argumentation continues, the US Constitution will be restored within a month.

  • tshtsh

She is probably one of those who thinks teaching babies about my two dads and condoms is fine.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZSKETECBAFDEAUOUML4ICTKLAA Alex

We shouldn’t waste taxpayer dollars on any sex education in schools, period. Abstinence or the one with the condoms that they want.
Strangers shouldn’t be entrusted to teach our kids about sex. We should educate them with “the talk” at home. We shouldn’t have to waste our taxpayer money on millions of dollars into that, rather it’s the “big government compassionate conservative” sex ed that Bush promoted or the kind that experiences kids to Nancy Pelosi teaching kids about condoms (which would honestly work better for abstinence than anything).

  • http://twitter.com/JGalt9 Jane Galt

What I love about Newt is that he is always in control of the interview. This is a clear example of how the corrupt MSM has a leftist agenda – but Newt makes sure that his own talking points dominate. Now if only the rest of the GOP would follow his example…

  • TexasPGRRider

CONCISE !!! Wow…that happened so fast, I had to watch it twice. I SO wanted a Newt Gingrich / Allen West ticket…Patriots are getting hard to find. Deception cannot stand against Truth.

    • DebbyX

That was my dream team also!

  • anneinarkansas

We have all seen Democratic Talking Heads change the subject when Chicago and guns come up. They refuse to even admit what is going on there. I am talking about Democrats and Media folks.
    Spin, Spin, Spin!

  • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

New York is going to be so sorry they passed all those restrictions. The media won’t report on it, but they are going to see crime go up, and neighboring states with more liberal gun laws will see theirs go down. (Notice I used the world ‘liberal’ in its original meaning.)

It will be interesting to see whether folks in NY will be patsies and go in to re-register their guns.

    • Nukeman60

I think they need to post an interactive map of New York showing all the households with a salt shaker on the table. It might just match the gun owners’ map.

      • nibblesyble

        awesome.

      • kloyd0306

Or the even bigger threat – big gulp sodas

      • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

You’ve seen the map of gun owners in Texas, I presume?

        It’s solid red, baby!

        • Nukeman60

With salt on every table and a Texas Big Gulp in every hand! :)

  • tinker_thinker

This man should have been elected. Either as president or speaker of the house.

    • DebbyX

I totally agree. But it could never happen because of his personal baggage. Personally, it didn’t bother me, but they (the media) really unleashed the dogs on him when it came to his personal life.

      • tinker_thinker

It didn’t matter to me either.

  • Rshill7
    • nibblesyble

      ugh

  • Biggbear52

I do not know the hosts of that morning show but you can easily see how short they were with Speaker Gingrich! One sided lefty bums!

  • cabensg

You note they cut him off as soon as possible wouldn’t want to much truth out there at one time. Now all we have to do is clone him and send him back to House as Speaker. Just knowing Newt was there would send Obama into the corner crying and whining about how it’s Bush’s fault.

    • 1endtimes2020

Any time the media doesn’t like what they hear, they become cut-off artists. We ALL know they are getting direction ‘from the top’, and they’re being very well overpaid to sell their souls for dirty money.

  • Marky_D

Gotta love Newts ability to cut through the bs.

    • 57thunderbird

      No doubt.

    • 1endtimes2020

Betcha Newt wouldn’t be able to get a job there.

  • 57thunderbird

    Newt is da man.

  • msverde1

    Yep! Next topic…!!!

“And the app? AND THE APP MISTER SPEAKER? PLEASE TELL ME YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT AN APP THAT REQUIRES AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE THAT PARENTS HAVE TO GIVE CHILDREN?” Emphasis necessary. Completely obeying Obama’s command. No word on the debt. No word on infanticide. No word on any policy of Obama’s. This is ridiculous. It’s like we have State media.

    Newt!!! 2016

    • proudhispanicconservative

      Palin/West 2016

      • 1endtimes2020

Sounds good to me, and so does Palin-Cruz, so far.

        • proudhispanicconservative

You cant go wrong with either combination.

    • wodiej

I’d like to see a Gingrich/Palin/West ticket-in any two combinations.

      • jrt1031

Newt has the experience, the smarts, and the guts. I only wish he was the one to run against and debate obama in this last election that was stolen. Obama and the left always wanted Romney and that should have been the GOP’s cue to nominate Newt, but as usual we get taken by the left. They dont play fair and the right is all about being fair. In the end our truths will prevail. Out of those three really Newt and West would be the best combo. I voted for McCain because of Palin but I dont see her on any ticket that the media can play with. Palin will have her time but I dont see it in the next election. She needs more space between her last nomination. The generations need to change a bit for her to prevail. Also her son is still too young for her to be the best president or VP that she can be imo.

  • wodiej

They should know better than try to corner Gingrich, Kapow!

  • DebbyX

Yes, Newt…….forget about the murders in Chicago……..what about the app?

  • John3_3

    They shut him up quick.

  • physicsnut

I would like to blame it on the Left – but the FACT is that all this comes right out of ENGLAND. In fact, all the blabber, the tactics and the strategy, is straight from the House of Lords !!! Furthermore, BOTH sides were ramming this thru Parliament. In fact a lot of it was directed at the Labor movement.
The “assault weapon ban” is the least of Feinstein’s garbage. Look for things like renewable licences, and anything that reduces a Right to a Privilege . And for those who think it makes sense for the police to decide, read up on New York in the era of “Legs” Diamond.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZSKETECBAFDEAUOUML4ICTKLAA Alex

It doesn’t beat her ban on assault weapons in brazenness to defile the Constitution and implement tyranny that’s in the open at this stage.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZSKETECBAFDEAUOUML4ICTKLAA Alex

I remember it was only two years ago where a lot of conservatives thought Newt was an establishment RINO.
He was for health care mandates just like Romney, was actually to Romney’s left on immigration and would’ve been an amnesty guy, got on a couch with Pelosi, and was another one for the bailouts. Only a year and a month ago, many here were suspicious of him. I remember Bachmann’s fiery attacks on Newt Romney’s liberal record, and how he completely dismissed her. But then he was rehabilitated into the most anti-Romney conservative because well, he had an aggressive, in-your-face tone (which we can get from Trump and even Christie) and he said he was.

    • Wisewoman2

And don’t forget Obama took Newt’s playbook of trying to destroy Romney in the primaries (face of rich guy, offshore acounts, etc) to smash Romney with the same accusations during the presidential election.

  • Malkiel_kol_hakavod_la_el

Don’t you just love when the dare I say lady in essence states scr3w the truth what about the evil NRA video??? No not the video that depicts “Bullet to the Head of the NRA,” The gun safety video….. Libtards………. Nut cases…. Wack Jobs…… out to steal every freedom they can…….

  • http://twitter.com/WaiGuoGuizi 学中文的美国男人

It’s a fallacy to think that national gun laws can be compared to Chicago’s gun laws. It is easy to buy a gun from outside of a city or state then take it into the new locality.

For people who want to control guns, Chicago isn’t a template of actually having controlled guns. There are a lot of guns in Chicago. What liberal gun controllers argue is that if people didn’t have guns, then there would be less murderers.

EDIT: That being said, Democrats don’t actually support materially decreasing people’s access to guns. They simply want to decrease CERTAIN guns (ie assault riffles) but not all guns. So it’s really a pointless conversation that Democrats are having. Do Democrats really think that someone can kill someone else with an assault riffle but they can’t kill someone else with a handgun? No “gun control” policy will be effective until it actually materially limits people’s access to guns.
