I was raised in a very poor immigrant household in California, and one of the biggest reasons I became a right-wing nutjob is precisely because I saw my dad work his ass off to feed his family and get ahead, and I saw the degenerate, lazy welfare-abusers who just wanted to destroy our neighborhood. No, we’re not going to get a 95% share of the black vote, but we can get a much greater share than we have now if we emphasize hard work and how our policies support it and Democratic policies destroy it.
