Newt was fantastic tonight on Hannity as they mostly discussed the Obama administration’s lies about Benghazi and his apology tour.

here is the difference Jews and Christians won’t cut your head off.

  • serfer62

Newt expects The House under Speaker Boehner to cut spending!?!

    hahahahahahqahahahahahahhahahahahahaha

  • proudhispanicconservative

I was surprised to hear Newt hadnt heard of the ad running in pakistan, but as always he absolutely nailed it. I have been calling for the Romney campaign to hire Newt as his spokesman because he is clearly above anyone in the Romney campaign articulating our positions. Its time for Romney to eat his pride and use effective people to defend him.
(I am sorry I love Newt)
I hope fox stops puting the picture of the embassador is just painful to see him as he is carried away by the animals over there. May god bless his soul

    • 3boojums

i agree that it is painful, maybe it’ll get people pissed enough that they’ll direct their outrage at Hillary and obama, the ones who aided and abetted these horific acts

      • proudhispanicconservative

I swear I had tears in my eyes the first time I saw that, and then I had the image of Obama celebrating and having fun with beyoncé. I hope you are right and people get angry but unfortunately not a lot of people are going to watch it as the media is going to bury it as they have done with everything.

        • Pyrran

You can bet the farm on it. Obama is a cult leader and the media his acolytes.
To see the end of this kind of thing, just Google Jim Jones or Heaven’s Gate, or David Koresh. It all ends the same way, with a lot of innocent people dead.

    • bobemakk

Newt was my first choice, but the lamestream media trashed him. I pray Romney wins and gives Newt a cabinet position.

      • proudhispanicconservative

        He was mines too

    • http://www.facebook.com/richard.giambruno Richard J Giambruno

Newt will not be allowed to speak for Romney and his campaign, ever. Newt is way too smart and way to adept at speaking the plain truth with no political BS in the middle. That frightens Romney.

  • MaxineCA

I saw this article over at Breitbart earlier, and couldn’t believe it! I refrained from throwing something at my monitor. When you read through the whole thing (it’s not long) it says a lot.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi, the recently elected president of Egypt, will be a featured participant at the eighth annual meeting of Bill Clinton’s Clinton Global Initiative in New York next week.

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2012/09/21/Clinton-to-Host-Egypt-President-Morsi

Guess I’ll have to do some research on Clinton’s Global Initiative.

    • p m

Bloody outrageous. Bloody typical too. I hope there are demonstrations by Americans (not just some, but all) when these POS genocidal maniacs are in NYC. And, why are they allowed in at all? Off to do more research. Thanks for the tip, Maxine.

Anyone want to bet that this creep will get an audience with the blind ‘sheikh’?

      • MaxineCA

Here you go. Take a blood pressure pill first! I think most of us that post on this site are informed enough to read through the PC crap!

        http://www.clintonglobalinitiative.org/

        • p m

          Thanks again!

        • sDee

WHY THE BLOODY HELL IS ROMNEY GOING TO THAT?!!!!!

I really thought after this week, that Romney was ready to take these globalist anti-Amercian SOBs to the mat.

I have had it with this freaking Romney campaign. Going to a forum like this is not only flat out stupid it is PURE PROGRESSIVE GLOBALIST SOROS FUNDED SUBVERSION.

Folks – if you needed any proof that Romney is being installed to carry on the UN globalist agenda look no further.. Romney’s presence here is a clear signal – this is bad news for freedom, really really bad.

          • Patriot077

It sure looks that way sDee. Even down to the graphics illustrating the common themes. Knowing that his father leaned that way has always concerned me and I sure don’t enjoy seeing this. I noticed that Condi Rice is also attending …

            • sDee

it was also troubling to see that the campaign sent Ryan into AARP to tell then he would dump Obamakare. What good could come of telling that to Obamakare’s biggest supporter and beneficiary??!!

They set him up – it reminded me of what they did to Palin.

              I smell a rat.

              • Patriot077

I raised a brow at that myself. On the other hand, R & R seem to tell every crowd they intend to repeal 0-care. It’s the biggest issue affecting seniors so no way he could avoid talking about it. I’m sure he expected the reaction he got as he handled it very well.

          • MaxineCA

That caught my eye as well. It looks like they will have a live stream going, so it will be interesting to see what Romney says. I don’t understand why he would be anywhere close to this conference!!!!!

          • Stehekin912

Maybe we should go to the Romney campaign suggestion box at his website and just ask him to explain it. Maybe if he knows we all know he is attending and want to know why, he will know our eyes are on him and we are paying attention. Be sure he knows we are all going to be watching him on the live stream to hear what he tells the progressive globalist elitists.

We may be over a barrel to vote for him, but we are not deaf, dumb, blind or stupid.

            • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Exactly what good will that do! He has already taken the conservative vote for granted. He has thrown the grass-roots under the bus at the convention. Do you think he really cares what we think since he already knows he has this constituency in the bag?

              • Stehekin912

Hi Puritan…I understand where you are coming from. If nothing else, it will let him know we know and we see and it matters to us, even if he does not care.. And further, how can I say I will work to hold candidates’ feet to the fire if I don’t even try? If I say nothing? Even if I am ineffective, I will not lose because I sat down.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Understood and appreciated. At the same time, there is only so many times one can run against a brick wall before he says, “ouch”. Then again, maybe the wall will eventually break down. Just don’t know how much time we have for that.

        • Pyrran

Clinton is just setting the stage for wifie to run for President in 2016.
Gotta keep your hand in the game or people will just forget you.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/AFP7KW2HXXC6JDM3YJ6MAIDH5E hjole

I didn’t trust Romney from the start, he’s just another Repukian/Globalist thinking if they slide to left they pick up those feel good indies that can’t decide whether to take an umbrella in a rain storm or not. I hate to sat it, you can stick a fork in America were done, Jefferson had it right, it will take a revolution to get us back where we belong.

    • las1

It’ll make you head spin all the Brootherhood tied initiatives and left-wing progressive projects out there… funded with Americans’ hard earned money I might add.

  • tvlgds

    Bring on Allen West!

    • Orangeone

Allen West for Secretary of Defense! He is a country’s dream defender.

      • tvlgds

At least until he runs for president!

        • Orangeone

He has my vote!  I wish Romney had chosen him for VP.  I love Paul Ryan but West is best.  Actually, truth be told, Ryan/West or West/Ryan would have been better tickets.

          • tvlgds

I don’t think West would have taken the VP with Romney-they’re too far apart on values. You’re right-either combo of West and Ryan would have been much better.

  • REHLV

Romney this should be your Secretary of State. No question about it.

    • FreeManWalking

I like Bolton he tells it like it is and won’t back off, but I agree, IMO NEWT would make a much better SOS. Possibly to strong a personality than Romney can deal with.

  • Amjean

Why are we sending them any money at any time? Suspend, my behind! Quit
sending any funds to any country other than our allies.

    • wodiej

do we even have any allies anymore?

      • las1

Not even Canada anymore. Canada’s PM Stephen Harper has a stand toward Israel that is 180 degrees opposite to Obama. And that imposter in the White House doesn’t want Canadian oil. It puts Harper in a difficult position. It’s all the Canadian government can do to bite its tongue when talking about America’s undermined economy by Obama.

Here’s what Harper has said: “Canada will not join the anti-Israel mob”

      • Orangeone

Israel! Canada is still an ally, just waiting for O’Blameveryonelse to vacate our White House!

      • Amjean

Good point, sadly. I think they have pretty much given up on the US
with Obama in office. They are probably waiting “with baited breath” for our presidential election just like the rest of us!

    • http://radamisto.blogspot.com piniella

[Why are we sending them any money at any time?]

Because of the 1978 Camp David Accords

      • Amjean

Thanks for the info. I will do some research into it.

Isaiah 19: The Burden of Egypt

We are already there and the Pharaoh in power looks a lot lke the one describe in verse 4: “fierce king and cruel master”. But here is the catch: God says, He “hand(s) the Egyptians over to the fierce kind and cruel master”. “So that the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the Lord. They will worship with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and keep them. 22 The Lord will strike Egypt with a plague; he will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the Lord, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them”. v. 21

Based on these verses, we can tell that God has already chosen our next President. We do want the Lord to heal our land and unite us. But it is scary to think that He has already pre-ordained one of the two as ruler over us, not for our own comfort but with the ultimate goal of bringing us back to him.

    • http://twitter.com/toadfrogjr Chris

      This gave me goose bumps.

      • sDee

It is brilliant work I think. We all know the saying..”the truth will set you free but first it will make you miserable”

Well this get us past the “miserable” part. Finally understanding why the church, the government, academia, and the media of the West is appeasing islam, is truly liberating!

    • sDee
      • las1

Thanks for this… I like it already when he says that we are so minor in what we know… that we are in the minority. A guy with bow tie and 1950’s wallpaper can’t be bad.

        • sDee

It is brilliant work in my opinion. We know the saying..”the truth will set you free but first it will make you miserable”. This knowledge gets us past the “miserable” part.

Finally, understanding why it is the church, the government, academia, and the media of the West is appeasing islam, is truly liberating!

          • las1

Mind you he doesn’t get into the church, the government, academia, and the media. His focus is the mechanics of “Islam”. And by his own admission he doesn’t watch the news or the internet (I suspect he does a bit … as he knows a lot about what the culture is saying) … but I’m on the second video (the first one actually which is 22 mins long)

But I really like his no-nonsense approach… a real academic approach examining “what is” not what we think it is… very good stuff.

            • Rshill7

Yep, sDee linked to it yesterday, I clicked on it, and couldn’t put it down without finishing it.

            • sDee

exactly! and that is the beauty in what he does. He gave me a well reasoned explaintion of why “we” are afraid. I used it to connect the dots to explain my bewilderment of the government’s, academia’s, and the media’s motivation to submit to islam.

              • freenca

Thanks for the link sDee, I mailed it to several others too. Americans need to know this stuff!! The doctor’s presentation boils it down to terms that even the most naive can get.

      • Cindy09

        Thank you, sDee!

        Dr Warner’s teachings are awesome!!

  • http://twitter.com/PhillipG76 Phillip

Newt .. is one of the best speakers

  • JoeMontana16

I was watching this live and when Hannity mentioned the weak kneed commercial that cost seventy grand.

What gives with the new comment layout here? Someone enlighten me.

    • sDee

I hope it is just experimentation with disqus. Overall the comment section looks crisp and contemporary BUT – The old format made it easy to parse through and read a lot of comments very quickly. I cannot put my finger on it but it is much much harder for me to do that. It might be the font but I think it also has to do with the less visual separation between header/footer and the body of the comments.

I’ve not found the like button yet – miss the fun there.

TRS – I don not know disqus bur please consider these comments as constructive – your comment sections are one of the things that sets you apart from the rest. I might get used to it but so far I am really missing the old format.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

When I first saw this, I thought it was just my tired eyes, but now, it’s still hard on my eyes, I can’t see this very well.

    • sDee

well I did find vote up/down button. There usually is not a disqus “vote down” button here so I will assume (hope?) TRS is testing this out.

      • Nukeman60

Yeah, I’m not fond of the new format either (just a humble opinion). It was instituted some time ago, but they retracted it due to commentor’s dissatisfaction. It’s the way of the other sites, but I agree that Scoop’s old format set him head and shoulders above the others.
I’m not fond of the dislike button. If you don’t like something, walk away. It seems to give the trolls a bit of ammo to bias the narrative.
I just noticed, as well, that once you erroneously click on reply, you can’t cancel it, unless I’m missing something.
Overall, the new format will definitely take some getting used to.

        • T Pixidust

Just reload the page to cancel a reply.

          • Nukeman60

            Ahhh, thanks.

        • sno_warrior

          I couldn’t edit either

      • Orangeone

This is the same Disqus format Twitchy is using too.

      • sno_warrior

I don’t care for this new format (seeing comments, replys) myself. Kinda sucks actually!

  • wodiej

    Gingrich always offers intelligent discussion.

  • BikerHoop

Gingrich has never been afraid to call a spade a spade and consequently needs to have a prominent position in the Romney administration. As Secretary of State we wouldn’t have to worry about all the pandering like the current one (sorry, the name disgusts me) does.

  • Nukeman60

Unlike Obama, Newt is always Presidential when he speaks. It’s nice to hear someone actually come out and say, “Yes, he lied”. How refreshing. No “he misspoke”, no “he is misinformed”, no “well, I don’t want to speak against our President” crap. Straight out speaking the truth to the American people.
Every time Obama opens his mouth, he lies. I’m tired of it. I don’t want to hear any more of it. I just want him out of what used to be the most respected position in the free world. Now it’s just an entertainer-in-chief, a golfer-in-chief, and a partier-in-chief.
Time for Obama to do an expletive-laden rap video with his ‘bros’. Then his job will be complete, we can give him a Hollywood award for best performance in a stand-up comedy routine, and send him on his merry way.

    • las1

I’m with you there… today I’m just so pi%$ed. I need to unload.

Every Saturday morning I go to McDonalds for a double espresso. The TV’s there and there are these older guys also sitting talking… they’re Franco-Ontarians and good guys. Then the news comes on about guess what? You got it… Mooooslims rioting and killing and burning in Pakistan.

One of the guys is watching it with me and makes some comments, but they are totally off base… something about “all religions”. And this from an older guy! Inside I am so ticked that I tell him it’s NOT about religion. He says all religions preach goodness… these rioters are fringe or something. I tell him that there are NO moderate Muslims or they would be speaking out. I tell him that this is authentic and authorative Islam according to the dictates in the Koran… he says not… I say YES… it’s in there… I’ve read it. This IS ISLAM! By this time I”m so frustrated trying to open his eyes. I tell him about their attempts to impose blasphemy laws in the West through the UN and try to inform him. But he just stand there dumb… then walks away.

I’m not mad at the guy… I’m PISSED OFF that this is what our media has got us. A dumbed down and clueless populace who can’t see evil for what it is…. who in fact cover for the evil and apologize for it. I sometime think the war is lost even before it declared. I am just so ticked right now. What’s it gonna take… a dirty bomb exploding in Manhattan or even worse.

Fools … poor benighted fools! That’s what we’ve become because of the malpractice of our pathetic media.

      Aaaargh!

      • sDee

Thank you. We have to keep pushing the facts out where we can. Some will listen and some will not. You never know what you might say to get someone thinking las1

The media is indeed our biggest threat. Pure globalist propaganda that is paving the way for Islamic supremacy.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I’ve lost a few friends having the same discussion. I’m pissed too. It’s one thing to believe the media and the “sensitivity” groups, but when we see nothing but burning and raping and murdering, they are blind.

        • las1

Bill Warner’s videos which sDee referenced are pretty good. Their historical view and statistical analysis of jihad wars have led to a climate of fear. That’s the main takeaway from these videos. We try to grapple with the supine and flaccid response of the West. It’s certainly a different approach to what Islam has imposed on the world from a historical perspective. That the middle-ages were the result of Jihad conquest, and not German barbarians.

I don’t know if Warner is a Christian but the wall of fear when trying to expose Islam to others is purely a demonic manifestation to shield the anti-Christ nature of Islam. There are other intellectual and emotional aspects to the fear, but the spiritual explanation tops them all imh.

Yeah… ABiC… my blood boils at how craven and cowardly the culture has become. A freight train is coming and I’m yelling… GET OF THE EFF’N TRACKS… and we’re the bigots, the extremists, the exaggerators and alarmists!

          • sDee

I think, as an engineer, this is why Warner’s analysis finally put the keystone in pace for me. He explains it well in that video introduction.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

            Well said las!

        • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

But GWB told me that Islam is a religion of peace! /////

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I know. I was NOT thrilled when he did that.

            • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

It makes me cringe when I hear presidents, especially those who claim to be of the Christian faith start saying either, “Islam is a religion of peace” or the “all religions….”

Uggh, stay out of apologetics and respond with no comment. It is much better than continuing to dig a hole so big that you cannot crawl back out of….

      • p m

Thank you, las. The media piles on after the namby-pamby education that indoctrinates the youngsters so they’ll believe anything, not having been taught how to think, but what to think. But as for this older chap, we can hope that you got him thinking and he walked off to find out for himself about what is really happening. You stood up to be counted and I admire you immensely. Thank you, again.

        • las1

Thanks pm… You know it’s bad when the old are seduced by the delusions of the young.

      • badbadlibs

        A thousand likes.

  • las1

    OFF TOPIC but…

Disqus is dicking around again. Navigating through it, while not difficult, is a bit cumbersome after being used to a certain format… and it’s got bugs.
For example… the poster’s profile reverts back to the main article… not the Disqus profile. And where’s the nice little feature “so-and-so liked and 14 others”. And following the thread sucks… it’s not a cascading thread, but a one string thread.

What the heck are they doing? Can’t they leave well enough alone!

I tell you sometimes these tech geeks … why on earth do they think they have to re-invent the wheel only to find their new wheel has 8 sides. Of all the formats I’ve seen, Disqus’ format was the best… but here they go playing around with it! Ugh!

    • T Pixidust

Yes. I don’t care for this new format.

      • Linky1

        Me either…….

        • williamm

I hate the new format. It was great the way it was.

          • Linky1

you would think Disqus is now government run-trying to fix something that worked fine the way it was, to something that does not work……..

    • RosiesSeeingRed

Also, I’ve noticed at other sites using this new Disqus format that after a couple of “back & forths” with the same person, the “Reply” option disappears. It seems to only allow a certain number of reply comments, which is terrible.

      • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Yep, I found that out as well on RS. I was shocked that I was a bit dumbfounded. How can one converse if one can no longer reply!

However, we are back to the old way here at TRS!

    • proudhispanicconservative

True and frustrating I do not like the new format.

    • Rshill7

Also, you can’t see who is “liking” you. Those likes are like Boyscout
badges you can wear on your blogger uniform. I’m taking my uniform to
      the Salvation Army dagnabbit.

Right now I just want to see how far I can fling this disqus. Medals, fanfare, and interlocking rings need not be involved :-(

P.S. It only took me 20 minutes to figure out how to log in though. Now I’m exhausted.

      • las1

“Salvation Army”… why that’s hate speech… ask Hillary Clinton.

        • Rshill7

Uh oh, I’d rather be waaacist. Sometimes when watching Nascar I feel like a racist, or at least like a fan of racists. Man, those cats can race.

      • poljunkie

        I agree.
        You’re cracking me up today.
You just reminded me of helping our son thru cub scouts. Webelos was a tough year!!!!

      • p m

Wanna know something funny, Rs? Every time I like a comment, like all these that hate this crappy new format, the like count goes up by 2 instead of 1. Ha! Worst of all, now that we can’t see who likes our posts, we are less of a community. Out here on left coast this manifested around 10pm and I thought – uh oh – the old eyes are on the blink. But no, it’s for real. And it sucks big time. I liked knowing who our like-minded likers are!
And, where’s the edit button? And, why does a moderator have to have such a prominent presence? Very off-putting. Drives me crazy that some folks forget that change should mean better, not just change for its own sake.

        • sno_warrior

I’ve commented earlier on this and again I AGREE, this new format sucks!

    • Rshill7

Also, you can’t see who is “liking” you. Those likes are like Boyscout

Well I like you sDee. There…. I’ve said it!

          • sDee

              • las1

                Naah… can’t… after it’s refreshed…

        • Orangeone

Since my like is not visible, here’s a post to confirm it! I like your posts sDee

        • poljunkie

          That was perfect!!

        • p m

That’s what was so good about this place – we’re fighting against high odds in the present culture, and this was a place to know we’re in it together with some good people – like you, sDee – and I love your posts, for the record.

      • las1

I like technology… I’m cool with it. But why do they expect us to go all goo goo ga ga every time they hairbrain a new scheme to tinker with things that were perfectly fine to begin with. They can add a button here or an app there if they want… but do it gradually over time. But now they throw out the old, bring in the new which is full of bugs and they’ll have complaints coming out their ying yang.

Great big dummies. And annoying ones at that!

        • joyfulgiver

Yeah, what’s that old saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! this format stinks! I’m disqus-ted :o)

        • Rshill7

I’m not only going “go goo ga ga”, I now have a binky in my mouf, my blanky in my arms, and am wearing a little sailor outfit.

          This is embarrassing :-(

    • ConnieConservative

I find interacting with this new format on my iPad very difficult. If I press the up or down button half the time RS disappears. Same with attempting to post,
or load more comments. Never had a problem with the old format.
I have to restart RS 9 or 10 times for each thread. I have emailed disqus
about this multiple times. My participation at disqus sites is limited
      by disqus.

    • 911Infidel

Tech Geeks don’t build programs with the user in mind. They build programs from their own perspective. The only way things change is when enough people b*tch about it.

      • p m

Agree. Isn’t it supposed to be about the posters – or am I terminally naive?! If a ‘unified’ comment system needs to exist at all (why does it anyway?) it must favour the poster not the system. These things are meant to serve us, not the other way round. Disqus thinks it’s the Government in that respect…

        • 911Infidel

I went to school years ago for programming. The first thing that I learned was that programmers don’t write for the users, they write for themselves. They like nice shiny objects, like little babies in a crib…bells and whistles to the rest of us….

The only way that changes is when enough people complain and they get fired or they change the coding to reflect what the client user community wants.Or the contract ends and the users tell the client “hey they suck, lets hire someone else”.

      • SierraBear

The process most programmers use to create well-organized programs systematically is known as the program development life cycle. The program development life cycle consists of these five steps:

        1. Identify the problem to be solved.

        2. Develop a plan of attack.

        3. Write the program.

        4. Test the program.

        5. Create documentation for the program.

This list is a simple version of what would normally be considered a full development life cycle.

Now purely from a business standpoint, to what advantage would a business entity develop a product to meet the needs of the persons creating the product rather than satisfy a deficiency for their target auduence?

        • 911Infidel

Yeah I got the lecture in school. However in practice eh not so much. There’s plenty of crummy programs out there. And they’re crummy because programmers program from their perspective NOT the user’s perspective. Theory is great but in practice the users are the losers.

          • SierraBear

Programming is not unlike any other market driven venture. If you create a product that has mass appeal then your business will prosper. The point is that no business minded individual or entity writes software that does not address the intended purpose. Unless of course your intent is to give it away for free and there is a successful, thriving open source community. Even still, the objective is to provide solutions to specific problems. Otherwise, what is the point of the expenditure of time, effort and capital?

            • 911Infidel

I’ve been a programmer and worked with programmers on DOD projects in other capacities. Never once did I meet a single programmer who was driven by the desire to make a product user friendly. Everything was always money-driven…or an interim solution that sucked. Glitchy programs were the norm not the exception. So long as the companies got paid, and the project goals were met; everything was fine no matter how loud the user b*tched about the product. I’ve run into dozens of cruddy programs in the DOD that should have been canned long agao. But money, project goals and contract renewals are the reality in the real world. The users be damned.

I’ll give you a good example of a POS product: SM7. Now why would anyone buy a crappy program like SM7 vs buying a good program like Remedy? Its all about money and contracts. It hasn’t got a thing to do with good programming.

Oh and by the way…I never programmed by the book. I took my idea, wrote out my routines in a combination of pseudo-code or plain English with lines pointing to my routines with a big Begin Program at the top and and End Program at the bottom of a large notepad; then I wrote my programs.

I don’t do theory. Theory is for the classroom, not the real world. And money drives everything…Its the bottom line…

    • SierraBear

If you cannot improvise, overcome and adapt to a changing landscape you will find yourself steamrolled by the future. I found many improvements in the new format. Just wait until you see Windows 8. I can hear all the complaints now.

      • las1

Yeah I know… we are such knuckle dragging Luddites. We’ve only been using the technology for … I don’t know… forever.

Rule number one… don’t reformat overhaul and introduce something new that’s so bug laden before trying to introduce necessary changes and improvements gradually.

But then what do we know… we only use it.

        • SierraBear

… we are such knuckle dragging Luddites. Your words not mine.

          • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

A lot of blogs have less room, width-wise for comments than Scoop provides in his design. The lack of indent eliminates the tiny boxes problem you get after a thread has four or more levels of replies.

I personally hate the “down dinger” button. It encourages mobocracy.

What you don’t immediately notice is that certain features are pre-loaded and use CSS better to make stuff happen faster. They also have sped up the timing of several AJAX operations so the overall response is better.

Like every product ever made by humans, you end up with some great new features, and some ones you love get discarded.

I like some of these new features. I don’t like others. Overall, though, I think Disqus needs the newer version in order to keep up with their growth.

Also, Disqus has a blog you can ask questions and register complaints. Go over there and let ‘em know what’s bugging you.

(Figures, the blog link at Disqus is not responding right now)

            • p m

I’m not seeing a down dinger button, K-Bob – where is it supposed to be? Agree there shouldn’t be one, though…

              • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

In the new format (you can still see it in action over at Stacy McCain’s place), there’s an up and down arrow (more like a caret) in the lower left.

                • p m

Thanks so much. Must confess I’m very glad it’s now a moot point. Thanks for helping out – appreciated.

            • sDee

That was something I liked about that last DISQUS template – when the comments got nested deeply, it would switch to the @wxyz format instead of squeezing. But this format es muy bueno

          • las1

P.S. SierraBear… you got a double posting there… could it be anything with to do with bugs or a picnic. Just joking… not really trying to be snippy.

My problem is simply that if a user makes a complaint or a suggestion then the techie gets all offended and lashes out at the user … sort of like what you just did. They have a tendency to turf protect and get defensive. While you may have to deal with Luddites.. you know those pesky peons who only have to use the product, (some of who still can’t find the on-switch) we on the other hand are often stuck with a poor product and snippy comments that we are know nothings. I’ve worked with good techies and not-so-good ones. Thankfully most were good and did their jobs superbly and saved my butt by saving my files.

            • SierraBear

Let me say a word concerning human nature if I may. Envision a beautiful green field with 100 white sheep and 1 black sheep. What is the central focus, the 100 white sheep? Much to the contrary, the immediate perception is the one black sheep.

The greatest challenge for technical support personnel is getting end users to recognize the obvious. When that occurs nine times out of ten they solve the issue themselves. I was not lashing out in any manner, but rather I was using a little levity to make the point clear.

Obviously, programmers, tech persons and the like do not consider their clients to be idiots, but simply human like themselves. The majority of errors or “bugs” are not the result of bad code, just human error, specifically typos. These corrections can only be made evident over time when they are tested. I have a nephew who has an upstart web development company. He always asks me to break his applications and web designs because he finds it nearly impossible to do so himself due to time constraints and deadlines.

A quote from the Bruce Hornsby song “This Too Shall Pass” seems appropriate at this point.

I gotta get somethin’ done today
              Give accomplishment a shot
Might not have a full talent to use
But I’m gonna paint with the colors I got

I’ll just leave it right there.

              • las1

good stuff there Sierrabear… good stuff.

        • SierraBear

Whatever floats your boat. I suppose there is no reason whatsoever that Windows is the most widely used OS on the planet. As one who works in the Information Technology field I can say that the insider tech joke is the following example for a generic username and password: Picnic and Id10t. The first is an acronym for “problem in chair not in computer” and I guess you can figure out the rest.

          • las1

            Id10t

            Clever… so original too.

              OK, somebody create a diversion…

          • las1

Well I’m glad there’s a word for it. Kinda like what my grade 4 teacher Miss Morrow always used to say, ” late again there I see eh Mr. Las?” And that was in an era when a single computer took up a whole room.

            • SierraBear

Right. Back in the Dark Ages when dinosaurs still roamed the earth, in an era before political correctness we had computers in school as well. They were of rudimentary construction, comprised of a semi-viscous gray matter housed in a thick cranial structure sandwiched between two primitive listening devices that rarely functioned correctly, called ears.

    • Stehekin912

Agreed. If something ain’t broke, be sure to mess with it. Grrr

Why doesn’t anybody mention when the Ambassador’s body is being dragged through the street there, that on the day after he was murdered and his body dragged through the street that Hillary explained to the world the crowd was “bringing him to the hospital” ???

  • sDee

Jefferson also realized that islam was not a nation-state enemy. He knew that no pact, no treaty, no truce, was possible with a mortal enemy consumed with the fervent belief that their god commands them to destroy and enslave all kaffurs.

The goal of islam is to destroy Christianity and Judaism, in fact, to conquer all enlightened cultures regardless of religion. Destruction of Israel and America is more than symbolic to islam – it is their pivotal battle in a 1400 year war. We are all that stand in their way.

Jefferson did ally with France against the Barbary pirates who were conducting economic war against us by shutting down the trade hub of the West – the Mediterranean. But why, is far more important than what……

Just as Jefferson pursed the immediate and non-negotiable destruction of the Muhammadans in the Barbary wars, I am confident Jefferson today would have long ago declared war against islam as our mortal enemy, and allied with Israel not as an opportunist tactic, but as essential to the survival of liberty, the Constitution, America,- for humanity itself.

We instead have appeased and emboldened our mortal enemy. We have embraced it and invited them into our most critical institutions – the very fabric or our nation. This is the equivalent of Jefferson inviting the Barbary pirates to build a mosque in Monticello and offering the Muhammadan pirates cabinet posts and commands of our ships and armies. We are truly a suicidal nation, baring our necks to the sword of islam.

    • david

Hello Dee: Everything you have mention I wholeheartedly agree with and wish we had a president like the great Thomas Jefferson. I have mentioned before on this site the stance Thomas Jefferson took when he realized that there was no compromise, no capitulation, no appeasing, and no amount of diplomacy will ever persuade the Muslim Barbary Pirates of cease and desist, terrorist actions on French,British and American shipping.
Jefferson sent our new navy and marines to fight the first war against radical Islam and defeated the Barbary Pirates. And the mediterranean shipping lanes were free for all nations to commerce.

      • sDee

David, did you watch the video I posted above?- it provides even more historical context for what Jefferson did.

Why isn’t Romney or the RNC doing a commercial showing the world on FIRE, with a voice over of Hillery, Rice and 0b0 blaming this off on the YouTube Trailer. Then cut to a bed side table with the PHONE RINGING, and a CLOCK TICKING with Romney saying 0b0 hasn’t answered the 3AM call, he hasn’t even answered it at a convenient time. All this Administration has done is lie to the American people about what caused it.
I’m Mitt Romney and I will answer the CALL

    • Orangeone

And R Squared needs to add that this is another of O’Bambi’s attacks on our Constitutional Right of Free Speech.
Fast & Furious = 2nd Amendment to benefit the Mooslims
Embassy attacks and murders = 1st Amendment to benefit the Mooslims
What’s next, repeal of the amendment that gives women the right to vote? Wouldn’t put it past him with another EO. BTW, he is finalizing his Internet restrictions EO for release very soon. He needs to shut down the conservative blog sites, we are learning the truth through this vehicle and he cannot tolerate it.

    • nibblesyble

Nice…too bad they are not listening ti you Free! Of course if they did, Newt would be the man in running, and you would not have to issue advice because he would be hammering Obama day in and day out!

      • FreeManWalking

        Thanks NS,

We tried to tell them if they wanted a pit bull to take a bite out of 0b0 before he got his chomper on the dog, NEWT was the man.

If Romney would just start explaining why he believes in his position, Newt is great at giving sound reason to back his position or stance on issues. Of course that is just second nature to NEWT.

Crap, I guess I’ll have to try it again tomorrow, but my artwork is never as good the second time around. Don’t ever try to do a computer paint job when you’re tired. That’s my advice for the day :-) Night pol!!

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

Newt is dead on and Romney should be repeating this again and again. Why are we sending money to people who hate us? And why don’t we have a president that stands up and lectures the world that we DO have free speech in this country, unlike in those hideous Arab countries? We desperately need a new president in November. I hope the American people are wise enough to elect one.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/6TFSBPXVSCDIMIGDESK63L4VKY Michael

I agree but I wish people would stop for a second and think…HOW MANY PEOPLE GIVE MITT advice…gee…every single person wants Mitt to say this or that…he should do this or that…FOR CRYING OUT LOUD HE IS ONE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just like you and me. I am so tired of this. Do conservatives EVER STOP!! I appreciate people’s desire to win. But place yourself in his shoes….you have millions of people telling you to do this or that….cripe most people can barely stand one person yelling in their ear…Try 60 million!! We need to understand….Mitt does not have unlimited money to just say whatever we want or to run ads nonstop….these things TAKE HUGE MONEY!! I have donated a bunch to Romney have all the people here offering suggestions opened up part of their wallets??? We need to unite like the Dems do or we will have Obama and no more America…and I guarantee you Conservative Blogs and Radio will be number one on Obama’s list to get rid of!

      • BHliberty

Amen Michael! Romney must win and like you I’ve begun to donate to his campaign. I support him 100%!

      • sDee

After McCain and the RNC pushed Palin out on the limb an sawed it off, I ended a tradition of financial and volunteering support for the GOP (national) which goes back to Nixon. And yes – I am old enough to know what damage G. Romney and Rockefeller did to conservatism and true Constitutional Republicans like Reagan and Goldwater.

I kept it up all those years even though Reagan was the only conservative President to come out of it. I did it because I was raised by an immigrant family who escaped oppressive socialism and they taught me back then that the Democratic party was marxist and dangerous.

I still donate heavily, call, and go door to door. But only for true conservatives.

So to answer your question – YES. This week after the Romney secret tapes and the Redistribution advertisement, I did call the RNC and Romney back to donate for the first time since Oct 2008.

Then this morning I see here on TRS that Romney is going to speak at Clinton’s post-American Global Initiative forum!!!!! That tells me all I need to know about Romney Jr.. That is a UN aligned, Agenda 21, ICLEI, CFR, islamo-supremecist, globalist forum that is the polar opposite of every principle on which the Republic was founded. Its agenda, its funding, its alliances are aligned against American sovereignty. Even Morsi and his jihadi Muslim Brotherhood are showcased. Disgusting. Infuriating.

This is the scum of the earth in limos and Romney’s having cocktails with them.

        http://www.clintonglobalinitiative.org/

        • Landscaper

Do you suspect Romney to placte them or tell them to politely to shove it? I know what Newt would tell them but it can’t be put in print here.

          • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

I doubt that Clinton would invite Romney there to tell everyone to shove it. Both are politically motivated and smart individuals for that to happen. Romney may go the route that these Islamist attacks were just terrorists who are radical.

The problem with going that route is that it is ill informed and does nothing to help defeat this issue. This is a battle that has waged for centuries going back to the Byzantine Empire if not even further back. If one was to study this era, one could see that at one point if the empire did fall, all of the West would no longer exist, which Christians call Providence. It is a war of ideas and world views.

Sadly today, the West’s worldview is no longer Christian or Christian based. It is humanism. Humanism tethered to nothing but itself is weak and cannot defend itself under any onslaught. Fortunately, for Humanism, Christianity is non-violent and so it thrives in the West. Now, with a mortal enemy, it will wilt under the attacks because in its own world-view it does not know how to respond.

I hope the “MOD” rectangle is more noticeable. Too many folks new to DIsqus make the mistake of backtalking a friendly moderator who has just asked them to tone it down. They prob’ly don’t notice the star.

Newt is unleashed and free to speak which is great to here. A President should embody the very essence of being an American and loving America. The present Marxist in the WH cast a myth spell on so many Americans and the consequences have been devestating both domestically and internationally! Newt’s description is Reagan over and over again! One thing I do like about Mitt is I can tell he loves America and loves being an American….something the Marxist would have to look up in the Dictionary!

Ryan is here in Orlando area today at 230PM at UCF (University of Central Florida!!) I will be going…it is suppose to be packed!! This will be my second time seeing Paul!! Will be 10-12 of us going!!

    • poljunkie

Awesome! I can’t wait to hear how it goes.

Today, we are going to see 2016 again. I didn’t see the need personally to see it a second time but it is playing in town, which is a surprise (liberal little
town) AND My mom who is 89 asked about it. We’re taking her, her caregiver, and three of her friends from bridge group. One is a very out spoken Conservative, and another is a super liberal from New York who lives her part time.
My husband said earlier this week, popcorn was on him!
Depending on their reactions, we might spring for dinner so we can discuss at length.

      • sDee

Lets us know how dinner goes. OK?

        • poljunkie

I know, I cant wait. The “care giver” is solid conservative. I looooooved that. She started working for my parents about 2 years ago when my dad first became ill. He since passed away, and now she is a companion with my mom. It is going to be fun and interesting!!!

          • poljunkie

You know its funny sDee, after I wrote this comment, I reflected and it dawned on me that over the past 8-10 years my hubby and I have become very selective about who we do business with. Initially, when we first got married 25+ years ago we didnt do that but now we do. If we have the choice between a conservative or liberal dentist we chose the conservative. Naturally, we dont always have the luxury of knowing ahead of time, but when dealing with people- one on one, their values and beliefs come across- even when discussing a root canal.

            • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

And you certainly don’t want to p1$$ off your liberal dentist, or he will remember that when it comes time for that root canal!! YIKES!

              • poljunkie

Our dentist is a fantastic family man. Nice guy ( for a dentist!). He is a former Marine. Gigantic. Ultra Conservative. He has three little girls. AND he volunteers at the jail one day a week.

      • p m

Great, pol. Will you tell how they liked it, please? Especially your Mum and the liberal lady.

BTW I liked your comment and the like count went from 3 to 5!!

        • poljunkie

Maybe you are worth double pm?

          • p m

            No – you are, pol!

            • poljunkie

              Thanks pm. :-)

This is the kind of thing obama stands for..

79-YEAR-OLD DISABLED VET FACING JAIL TIME FOR HAVING JUNK IN HIS FRONT YARD
THAT HE FIXES UP TO SUPPORT HIS WIFE

    A 79-year-old disabled veteran is
facing one month in jail for having too much junk in his front yard — junk that
he fixes up and sells in order to keep his home and buy medicine for his wife, the Rock Hill Herald reported.

John Ramsey was first convicted in
January of keeping junk in his front yard, a misdemeanor offense in the small
rural town of Clover, S.C. He was ordered to clean it up, or face 30 days in
    jail. He cleaned it up.

But last month, the court ruled
Ramsey‘s cleanup effort wasn’t good enough. He was held in contempt and given
two weeks to pay $500. Ramsey — living on $898 a month in Social Security and
veterans benefits — didn’t have $500, so when the deadline passed he went to
the police department to turn himself in. Instead, town officials told him he
had a hearing on Monday to determine whether he should go to jail for being
    unable to pay his fine.

“They are gonna give me 30 days,”
Ramsey told the Herald. “For junk.”

    According to the newspaper, the
Korean War veteran collects anything he can, including washing machines, bricks
and wood, and strips it down to sell. The money goes toward paying utilities
for his home and keeping his wife — also disabled — alive. He got rid of the
washing machines and other items during his cleanup, and the bricks and wood
are neatly stacked. A fence is currently under construction to shield
everything from view. Ramsey’s building it himself.

“Ain’t got a dollar to pay fines; I
sure ain’t got money to pay nobody,” he said.

No neighbors have complained to the
town about Ramsey’s yard, the Herald reported, and it seems the only person
bothered by it is the town’s code officer who started the proceedings in the
first place. Ramsey‘s public defender tried unsuccessfully to argue that the
town’s law about keeping junk was vague, but a jury was not swayed.

12grace… I’m kinda torn on this…. I’ have not seen the guys total yard, but I’ve seen others … and they are often very very un-pretty sites to behold. It appears from this one picture, his stuff is mild compared to what I have seen.

My brother had a serial “collector” around the corner from his house… and the municipality fined him and actually came and hauled away the junk. It was infested with rats which fled into the woods and caused problems in the houses around while they sought refuge elsewhere. The lot remained clear for about a month until the junk started accumulating yet again. Within a year it was back to the same old problem. My brother finally moved (not because of the junk) so I don’t know the outcome… so I believe a man’s home is his castle… but… when property values decline because of it, then that’s an obvious result no one wants.

      • p m

We’ve had a few like that – it’d be nice if the neighbours would help build a fence, specially now his circumstances are known, i.e. caring for his wife while he’s also disabled. They hadn’t complained, maybe that’s why, they knew him. (Assuming a fence would make the problem go away, that is. As for the vermin – yukky but true.)

        • nibblesyble

We think alike pm…I was justing telling my hubby that everybody should get together and build this man a fence. It is the best solution all the way around. : )

To Jerusalem we march martyrs by the millions huh? There’s your buddy in Eqypt telling it like it is Obama. They want to abrogate the hudna with Israel…and Obama along with the equally daft HRC want to cozy up to the 7th century rats. What a clueless bunch of maggots they are. That’s OK, November is comming. Obama can go to his new pad in Hawaii and HRC can go back to being the old dried-up hippie yenta she’s always been.

“To Jerusalem we march martyrs by the millions huh? [...]”
That sounds like what was said by Nasrallah in the satirical peace “The Muslim War Council” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IDjBiuHPqE&t=2m51s And although this satirical peace was filmed two years ago, only little would be needed to bring it up to date – like the inclusion of Mursi.

LatmaTV is besides being funny as well often on the point in their analyses. And as their songs are often worth to watch. As example the song text of their “The Iranian bomb – The song” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuEhhPbAAdA describes – despite being two years old – still valid. And they haven’t lost the nessesary optimism “A Rosh Hashana Song from Latma” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S2vLcArd8g

      • 911Infidel

I have seen their stuff. Very well done. But have you seen the newest graffiti on the walls in Syria? Its the motto of the Syrian rebels. Alawites to the wall. Christians to the cross. Allah-u-Aknard.

  • NJK

Newt’s great. He was my guy because of his ability to stand up for America, and he’s a leader. He’s a General. Romney is nice, but nice isn’t always the way to go.
People can talk all they want about Obama lying, committing crimes, etc., but he’s been allowed to do it. I don’t know how Sean even refers to him as President. Sean, I wish once, you would just stop calling him President. Call him, “Obama.” He never deserved the title. He’s a Muslim Brotherhood and Weatherman operative. He should be tried and executed.

  • NJK

If they like Islam so much, why don’t they move there? They’re all tough talkers, just like Ambassador Chris Stevens, and they are really afraid.
I’m sick and tired of Zero saying things like, “Since our founding.” You don’t know jack about our founding. And take Clinton over there and let them drag that fat hog, through the streets of Libya. It’s time she pays a price for the damage she’s done.

Obama, the most ignorant world leader that we have seen in our American history. He is giving the money for the terrorist, and haters of America to attack, and murder our citizens, but some leftist believe he is doing right. How can any justification be given that is truly honest, that would allow our Tax dollars used to fund the Muslim Brotherhood? Obama has said in earlier years he would stand with the Muslims-here is the evidence. This is truly a wake up call for anyone who is an American, and believes it should be free, and without terror from radical muslims…..Time to stand for America-Time to deliver a clear-overwhelming message to the world. We will no longer stand for it—VOTE OBAMA OUT OF OFFICE…….

PRES. MORSI OF EGYPT SEEMS OK TO ME
He sat down for an interview with the NY Times and said a couple of things that reminded me of the tolerant relativism espoused by Aristotle in 350 B.C. –

“If you want to judge the performance of the Egyptian people by the standards of German or Chinese or American culture, then there is no room for judgment,” he said. “When the Egyptians decide something, probably it is not appropriate for the U.S. When the Americans decide something, this, of course, is not appropriate for Egypt.”

He was troubled by the gangs and street of violence of Los Angeles, he said, and dismayed by the West’s looser sexual mores, mentioning couples living together out of wedlock and what he called “naked restaurants,” like Hooters.

“I don’t admire that,” he said. “But that is the society. They are living their way.”

Posted by Steve J. at 12:34 AM

  • http://radamisto.blogspot.com piniella

Perhaps the clearest early expression of relativism is found in Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics (350 BC), Book V, chapter 10:

It is the opinion of some people that all the rules of justice are conventional, because that which is natural is immutable and has the same authority everywhere, as fire burns equally here and in Persia, but they see the rule of justice continually altering.

But this is not altogether true, though it is true to come extent. Among the gods indeed it is probably not true at all; but in this world, although there is such a thing as natural justice, still all justice is variable.
