Nigeria: 28 members of Boko Haram arrested

It’s about time the authorities in Nigeria began to get it together:

REUTERS – Nigerian security forces said they arrested 28 suspected members of Islamist sect Boko Haram over the weekend, in a series of dawn raids on their hideouts.

“Our plan is to choke the (militants), to suffocate them and we are getting the desired results,” said a spokesman for joint military and police forces in Kano, Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha.

Boko Haram has become the main security threat to Africa’s leading energy producer.

Human Rights Watch says at least 2,800 people have died in fighting in the largely Muslim north since the sect launched an uprising against the government in 2009 in a bid to impose sharia law on Nigeria.

I guess we can expect retaliation by Boko Haram in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the security forces will be ready for it.

That was easily the best line of the year in my book!!! Absolutely brilliant!!!

    • Ok, that was freaking rich.

  • Yes, good news for now- but I agree Scoop. There will be repercussions, and they won’t be pretty. God help those people. I hope the security forces are up for it and see it through to wipe this evil group out.

Truly hard to understand how any deity who supports this type of action is worthy of worship.

      • crosshr

maybe it’s a non exist deity ( or man made one)they worship

        • Their deity has horns on it’s head and smells of brimstone.

What a pity he’s speaking metaphorically and not physically! I’d sign up to choke the bastards to death with my own bare hands!”

Wolfie, love the way you are thinking today (and all other days too). I want to go back to the Old Testament, an eye for an eye!

      • Violence is the only thing these monsters understand. They are bullies.. You don’t talk to a bully, you beat the crap out of him. That’s how he learns to quit being a bully before he become an ex-bully (as in buried prematurely)

        • Orangeone

          I’ll do my part Wolfie!

Meanwhile America builds up a major islamist force to replace Assad. Obama’s hardcore islamists are doing quite well digging into Syria. The FSA has, in addition to fighting Assad, been quietly purging Christians in Syria. These are the “rebels”

Syrian rebel groups have chosen Brigadier Selim Idris, a former officer in President Bashar al-Assad’s army, to head their new Islamist-dominated military command, opposition sources said on Saturday.

The joint command named Islamist commanders Abdelbasset Tawil … and Abdelqader Saleh …deputies.

The unified command includes many with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and to Salafists, who follow a puritanical interpretation of Islam. It excludes the most senior officers who had defected from Assad’s military.

Abdelqader Saleh heads the Tawheed Brigade in Aleppo which has repeatedly stated that they are fighting to turn Syria into an Islamist state. It’s a project of the Muslim Brotherhood and Qatar

Such wonderful news to start the day with. Very rare that. T’is a good omen methinks.

Who knows? By the end of today, Obama too might be behind bars. Wish upon a star.

It is promising that they appear to be on the job, finally. However, they must know there will be repercussions and I hope they are fully prepared for this. It is all-out war with these people and the authorities should be ready to fight them tooth and nail, and take no prisoners.

The martyrs in this war deserve and expect no less.

Most military leaders; excluding the current Delusionary in Chief, (DIC for short) will tell you that the best defense is a great offense. With this in mind to the current news story I offer you two quotes from one of America’s most out spoken Generals, General George Patton. “The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bast$#! die for his.” The other quote; “We herd sheep, we drive cattle, we lead people. Lead me, follow me or get out of my way.” For those Nigerians fighting to remove radical Islamists, these thoughts should be at the forefront of their thinking. “Take the message to Garcia.” To understand this you can read it at never give up until the mission is done.

They “arrested” them? you must be kidding!
Terminate with extreme prejudice would be the preferred method in my mind!
