NY Congressman on NYPD assassinations: “We have a gun violence problem in America”

Not only does NY Congressman Hakeem Jeffries equate the assassinations of the two NYPD police officers this weekend with the death of Eric Garner when asked what officials can do to bridge the gap between the NYPD and the communities in New York, but he suggests the real problem is gun violence in America and says that Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who he referred to as deranged, should have never been able to get access to a gun.

He also said we need to do something about police using excessive force:

This Congressman is blaming gun violence in a state that enacted gun laws that were supposed to prevent this from happening. It’s like he doesn’t even realize what he’s saying.

But even more than that, blaming gun violence is ridiculous. The problem is an irrational hatred for the cops fomented by our public officials and race hustlers. The gun didn’t pull the trigger and assassinate those two cops. The cop-hating bastard did.

Also, Eric Garner wasn’t assassinated. Stop equating the murder of these fine officers with the accidental death of Garner who, by the way, resisted arrest and brought it upon himself. They are not the same thing in any way, shape, or form.
