NY Daily News Hires #BlackLivesMatter Activist Shaun King To Cover ‘Social Justice’

Right Scoop readers probably remember Shaun King from a variety of recent controversies, but the activist and frequent cable news guest is about to add something new to his resume, according to Mediaite.

Daily Kos columnist and #BlackLivesMatter activist Shaun King has been hired by the New York Daily News to be their new social justice writer.

CNN reports that the newspaper announced the hiring move in a staff memo yesterday that created this new role for King because of how impressed they said they were with King’s writings on issues like inequality and race relations.

Social justice writer. It says a lot about how much the culture and economic war has been lost that the Marxist cause of “Social Justice” is so mainstream it has it’s own correspondent. I don’t expect, for example, that tomorrow they’ll be hiring a “Laissez-faire Correspondent” or an “Equality of Opportunity” Reporter.

In his farewell address to DailyKos, King explains:

After an amazing year on the staff of Daily Kos I am leaving to become the Senior Justice Writer for the New York Daily News. I start later this month and will be covering social inequality, police brutality, and racial injustice in America and around the world.

He also says that the Daily News is not a “decidely liberal” publication and will have a different audience than DailyKos.

I assume by different audience, he means a semi-literate one, something not essential to being a Kos Kid. But hey, at least he’ll finally get to see his name in black and white. Right? Amirite?

Bazinga.
