Obama campaign creates attack video calling Paul Ryan a liar

Looks like the Obama team stayed up late to get this out as fast as they could. Kinda sounds a little panicked if you aske me. First the video:

Guy Benson with TownHall did a fantastic job of debunking this video point by point:

(1) They begin with video of CNN reporters discussing accusations of Ryan’s “lies.” This is proof that the Obama campaign sent out a lot of angry emails, and nothing else.

(2) Medicare – Sorry, guys, but it is 100 percent true that Obamacare raided $716 Billion from Medicare to pay for itself.  It does cut benefits to current seniors.  And Paul Ryan’s plan took the president’s Medicare “savings,” and re-routed them back into Medicare to shore up the program.  Mitt Romney’s plan would undo those cuts altogether.  Obama took those cuts and used them to pay for Obamacare.

(3) The GM Plant – Part of the factory Ryan mentioned was shut down under Bush, despite the initial GM bailout (which Senator Obama supported).  The plant finally fully closed in April of 2009, during Obama’s presidency, as this report clearly states.  Obama’s problem is that he showed up and made empty promises to pander for votes.  Ryan never said Obama was personally responsible for the plant’s closure, but he accurately stated that it closed down within a year of candidate Obama’s hope-filled speech and remains closed today.  Obama goes on and on about “saving” the auto industry and his economic recovery.  That boarded-up Janesville plant tells a different story.

(4) The Stimulus – Pointing out that Paul Ryan asked that his district receive a slice of a giant, wasteful pie after it was passed — and despite his opposition — is at worst an instance of hypocrisy.  It does not disprove anything that Ryan said in his speech, and it does not change the empirical fact that Barack Obama’s borrowed stimulus has utterly failed based on the metrics for success Obama himself set out for it.

He also debunks the Debt Commission portion but you’ll have to click over to Townhall to read it.

I would like to make one more point about the GM plant portion of Ryan’s speech:

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Obama made promises he couldn’t/didn’t keep and that was Paul Ryan’s point. Read it for yourself from Ryan’s speech last night:

My own state voted for President Obama. When he talked about change, many people liked the sound of it.

Especially in Janesville where we were about to lose a major factory. A lot of guys I went to high school with worked at that G.M. plant. Right there at that plant, candidate Obama said, “I believe that if our government is there to support you, this plant will be here for another 100 years.”

That’s what he said in 2008. Well, as it turned out, that plant didn’t last another year. It is locked up and empty to this day. And that’s how it is in so many towns where the recovery that was promised is no where in sight.

Government was there to support GM and the plant isn’t operating. As I said last night, the whole GM bailout was a scam anyway considering they had to file for bankruptcy after getting 2 bailouts from the government.

A libster lobster in our local paper opened the morning by saying that “fact checkers were having a field day with Ryan’s speech”.

I guess the major event in that “field day’ was the running broad jump.

    • las1

I’ve noticed the “Ryan is lyin'” meme immediately.

It was a coordinated narrative. Even Canada’s pathetic state broadcaster, the CBC, tasked their unhappy trash talker Susan Bonner to mealy mouth Ryan after his speech. Her comments couldn’t wait to mention, twice within three minutes, the name of Sarah Palin and follow up Sarah’s name with, “we all know how that turned out!”.

It’s coordinated… it’s Pravda and it’s Izvestia. (translated Truth and News)

The Russians have an expression for it. Pravda is not Izvestia, and Izvestia is not Pravda. Truth is not News and News is not Truth.

Indoctrinators and Propagandists… the whole unseemly lot of them.

      • p m

Greatly admire the intestinal fortitude you display, las, in being able to stomach the cbc. Even with the ‘know thy enemy’ rule, I just can’t do it. They’re in the same corrupted game as the alphabets and you’re exactly right, it’s all co-ordinated.

      • 12grace

It is interesting that obama lies all the time and the leftist don’t care yet they make up lies about Ryan and other Conservatives and they go crazy.

2009 News Report Proves Ryan Was Correct About Plant Closure

      • Taximan72

The only propagandists seem to be the Republicans. Even those who demanded part of the stimulus package, and then screamed about the evils of government. Propagandists and hypocrites too.

    • SurfinCowboy

So tired of PolitiFraud. I went over and looked through some of their responses to Paul Ryan and they are so hollow and poorly researched.

One even stated that the WHOLE plant closed before Obama was President, even though the article stating the full closure of the plant appears in a Janesville newspaper in April of ’09

Me no likey these “Fact Twisting” sites. Too much lying.

    • Rshill7

Here’s what I said to him:

“Why did you say we should vote for Obama? Oh that’s right. Once again, you didn’t.

I think Nixon had a dog named Checkers. Was his first name Fact?

You’re playing checkers Jax. We’re playing Chess. Checkmate dude. Your party’s going down, straight across the board. From the Oval Office to the Senate, with conservative additions to the House.

You might want to jump out of the way. The steamroller’s coming, with adults at the controls. If you don’t jump, you might end up more two-dimensional than you are now, if that’s even possible.

Good morning! Whose up for pancakes? :-)”

      • p m

        Maple syrup or PB?!

        • Rshill7

Steam roller first…then maple syrup 🙂

    • Galatiansch2vs20

Libster lobster- that made me smile!

    • Da duh da duh da duh da duh…this just in: “Unbiased fact checkers” twist information to fit the Obama campaign’s narrative and provide talking heads with “facts” to counter Ryan’s “lies”.

  • MiketheMarine

Maobama visiting your business is as positive as a visit from the grim reaper. Scoop, has anyone made a list of businesses that the marxist has visited that have since gone under? I know the list is nearing a dozen, maybe more.

    • Rshill7

Right. Ever notice how the Grim Reaper carries that sickle? The hammer must be hidden somewhere in his robes.

O’s hammer and sickle are right out front for every discerning eye to behold. In his ideology, his deeds, his executive orders, his appointments, and spills out all over the stage each time he speaks.

  • DINORightMarie

Who was sending those emails, Wolfie?! And, just like Sarah Palin last year, the attack dogs didn’t even wait until the speech was over to call out the MSM troops.

Glad they have debunked this – now get people on the airwaves with this DEBUNKING truth!!! Before they get their lies to stick.

  • Sober_Thinking

It’s funny how the left screams when the truth is put out there. Their answer is simply, “That’s not true.” – no matter who or how many entities prove it is in fact true… complete denial. ALL they have are lies. That’s it. No solutions. No good ideas. No concern for Americans… only themselves or their crony buddies.

I hate this divisive ignorance they keep churning out… I hate it. We are the UNITED states of America… or at least we were before these clowns somehow made it into power. But in this case, I stand completely apart from those hate-mongers and despots. Their intentions are not selfless, honorable, or honest.

God is in control… but the author of confusion has been given a long leash lately.

    • las1

Authors confusion… this father of lies… One is verb, the other is noun, the end result is the same… pure evil.

2009 News Report Proves Ryan Was Correct About Plant Closure

      • Sober_Thinking

  • Can you here the desperation of the Obama Campaign….Obama took over GM in the bailout and did nothing to help that plant. The Journal Senitnel in Milwaukee has the President’s remarks he made in front of the Janesville plant in 2008. Ryan never said in his speech Obama closed it…he made reference to the promise of keeping a plant like Janesville open, if elected, for another 100 years. It officially closed in 2009, announced in Dec 2008….however when Obama took over HE DID NOTHING TO HELP THAT PLANT….in fact, his bailout he likes to tout, closed dealerships, destroyed white collar pensions and retirements, stockholders received nothing but he rewarde the unions. But he did nothing in 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012 for that plant.

GM a success really…stock price continues to fall…GM announced idling Volt factory for over 5 weeks because of lack sales and US taxpayers still owed over 50 billion from GM…oh yeah great success.

Ryan is right Obama promised that factory life if elected….he did nothing in Jan 2009 to help or save it….nothing….and he was the CEO of GM after the government took it over….but the AP is out there lying as usual…thank goodness Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has the words of Obama and pictures of the Janesville plant operating into 2009…long after Obama took office!

  • It’s fun to see the Libtard lies get debunked with hard cold facts one by one! All they have is shouting and lying. They wouldn’t recognize the truth if it bopped them on the nose in the street. Every day I grow more confident of seeing the end of an error, and the restoration of America… After 4 years of NObama, EVERYONE deserves some R&R!!

  • Where’s the part when that dumb blonde twit Stephanie cutter calls Ryan a felon. I have never seen a more desperate campaign!

  • marketcomp

And moreover, it needs to be said that we were told that the stimulus was going towards the repair of roads and bridges but only 6% of the stimulus went to roads and bridges. Paul Ryan shared that on Mark’s radio show. The rest went to fund his campaign donors in phony green companies like Solyndra and Fiester and the unions. The stimulus was one of the biggest con-jobs ever perpetuated on the United States. And just think, they want to do another stimulus and in many ways the increase in food stamps and disability payments are a stimulus but this time paying off a different group.

  • badbadlibs

I hope the speeches tonight address the lies upon lies the bo attack mongrels have spewed with their latest ad.
The people in power now are desperate to keep their power and they will hold nothing back, Dear God….please give the Romney/Ryan team the wisdom needed to counter the mongrels from hell that have decended.

    • canscrap

I wish the media was honest. I have NEVER

      • badbadlibs

I’m just two years behind you, canscrap and I concur….never have seen such blatant dishonesty and bias from the media and I too hope to live long enough to see if this “great republic” survives the invasion of satan masked as the demoncrat party.

      MORE SPAM above

      • Thanks for the warning/tip Joe. I’ve flagged it too. 🙂

  • Obama campaign is desperate and it shows. There is no denying the Medicare cuts. there is no denying the date of closure on GM. There is no denying commission report and his rejection of it as well. Obama actually rejected commission before it was done. That was subterfuge made to look like he actually cared about debt.

WE The People should be flooding CNN and MSNBC offices demanding to know why they are purposely helping Obama campaign. Those weren’t simply clips that were grabbed, they were set up’s.

  • las1

    • Where’d you move to? 😉

      • las1

Sorry Whitewolf… I moved it up to just under Rshill7’s comment at the top of this thread about the fact checkers having a field day about Ryan’s lyin’.

        • Rshill7

          Welcome to the neighborhood.

  • badbadlibs

And dearest God in heaven…..please put it on the minds of those who are going to counter this attack concerning the GM so called success and so called lie of Mr. Ryan that bo has just terminated the auto industry as we know it…

  • PhillyCon

It is a FACT that Obamacare raids Medicare … what utter frauds. It just shows how far the Obama campaign is trying to push the envelope with its friendly media buddies.

If there was such a thing as a free and fair press, they would be calling this out.

    • Thank goodness we have websites like this fine one to get the truth out there. The corrupt libtard media will never tell the truth.

  • Spartan1975

It is comical to see those libbies in full panic mode… their only hope is to use their propaganda machine all the way and try to convert the most gullible among us!!! After all he is their messiah and the ocean will recede to cure the earth!!! lol

  • PFFV

The only promise Obama kept and is following through on is to “Fundamentally Transform The United States of America”. Barry we don’t want to change our great country we want you unemployed this November!

  • anneinarkansas

All one has to do is look at the devious, lying, slobbering faces of the press they are using and run for our lives!

  • RocklinConservative

So are they going to come back loud and in-your-face to refute the spin the media is playing? These are the types of attacks that if not handled strongly and confidently right from the gate that play major damage. If not countered, this will be the first step in tarnishing Ryan’s clean image. Step it up … start now!

  • Thanks a lot RS for this information. Huffington Post is having a blast with this.

  • olivebrance

Remember how many conservative state officials tried to opt out of receiving huge funds from the bailout. They knew it would be later used against them. However, in most cases the lefty organizations in most states threw temper tantrums demanding their share of the funds. I am not sure how every case turned out but it was a no win situation. Another fine example of what happens when government takes over anything; puts people, states, everyone in government chains.

    • Taximan72

Opt-out? They went begging with thier hands out. Seems you are making things up like Ryan. Oh, he was one of those also. Am I wrong? Then why has the Rep. party not brought out that point, i.e. they were sucked into it.

  • anyonebutbarry2012

we have no honest msm. the liberals everywhere have nothing but lies. they stand for nothing.

    • proudhispanicconservative

They are and they are so predictable that have become so laughable, at this time where there are so many outlets to get your news they are in denial as to how irrelevant they are……

    • Taximan72

Unlike the Rep. who have no real values.

  • WordsFailMe

Can’t wait for the Obamerrhoid to talk about his mama during his acceptance speech. I know there are no videos of her but there may be some 8mm or some stills.

“Here’s my mama and me at Frank’s house.” Here’s one of mama in her underwear with my auntie.” “Here’s my mama and me when she dropped me off at a typical white person’s house to spend a few decades visiting.” “Here’s mam in Europe or somewhere else while is was sucking up dope paid for by my white friends.”

Tell us about “your struggle,” and your victories, racist commie!

  • Media “fact checkers” have long been a joke and the way they are exposing themselves in response to Ryan’s speech should be any doubts to rest. From henceforth they should be called the Winstons: http://biasbreakdown.com/2012/08/30/fact-checking-paul-ryans-speech-the-winstons-go-to-work/

  • Philo Beddoe

Ryan-Biden debate—- I just may have a debate party

    • Jay

How about a Biden-Biden debate? On Comedy Channel, of course.

  • Hmm, the GOP knew that the Democrats would do their “fact check” on his speech.
    It’s a given
I suspect they designed Ryan’s speech to the letter, so Democrats would jump on these points

Why? It gets the conversation back to the economy, Obama’s failed stimulus and empty promises. and dismal record.

    • Taximan72

Correct, the world started in 2009. Who needs historical context? What have you done for me lately? No wonder the USA is in trouble. People are senile.

Hey fascist, how many people are you going to gas today?

      • If you’d like a chance to debate these topics here, please read the Comment Policy.

If you merely want to toss in unsupported accusations and flames, then this is not the blog for you.

        • Taximan72

It hurts when you through adjectives like commie around, does it not? When the rhetoric is taken up a notch. Like the unsupported accusation you make. Don’t worry, if Mitt wins, the Koch Bros. will run the USA, and then it will be illegal to be a commie.

          • Clearly you struggle with more than just reading comprehension. Perhaps you need a some remedial help in debate. Since you ignored the Comment Policy, you will now have lots of time to go do that.

  • Okay, so $716 billion is taken from Medicare to ObamaCare (aka the AAHCA). What happens to a government program when it loses a huge chunk of funding? Who would suffer as a result of loss of funding? Hmmm.

  • SaraPFan

I agree with Ryan. His point is that Obama made promises that “government” is the end all, savior of big business. Like his roadmap for “Julia”, he thinks that government interference is the only way to save jobs, spur economic growth, heal the housing crisis and bring people wealth. (ie Cash for Clunkers, $7000 tax rebate on home purchases). It’s free market enterprise that spurs real, long lasting growth. Obama makes promises about his blessed government that will only be short term fixes.

    • Taximan72

Free market for the very wealthy. The middle class has to pay for them too!!!

  • Jay

But the sheeple will belive. They’re hooked on the hopium.

  • bobemakk

Obama let GM build a plant costing $80 billion in commie China. Why don’t they pay US what they owe US first? GM has become the worst of the big three, now in a class all by itself…..all alone and last on the list. Chrysler paid back most of its TARP money and Ford took none and they are both doing quite well.

    • Taximan72

Because Obama has to help the job creators that the Rep. are raving about. Why are you so against these job creators?

  • Taximan72

People, for a guy who talks about how “bad” gov’t is. and since the beginning of his career worked for politicians, then ran for office, I find it funny that he still collects the paycheck from the same institution he is attacking. Not only is he a liar, he is a hypocrite too. Now that the Cath. church called him on Ayn Rand, for whom he was a bootlicker of, he rejects her fully. This guy is a dolt, a smooth talker, but not leadership material. Sorry, but on closer inspection, this is scraping the bottom of the barrel.
