First Gun Control, then Amnesty...called it. Nothing Obama does anymore surprises me. What's next? Reaching out to the Muslim Brotherhood and letting them infiltrate high level government positions...oh wait, that's already happened.

It is time to take a tour of the ACTUAL effects of out-of-control immigration. Shall we start in the Bronx ? Bring a camera, because it is quite visible. How long did it take for the South Bronx to not look like Dresden and Hamburg, or are there still sections that look like a war zone.
And I say this in spite of my respect for Colin and Stormin Norman for avoiding a big mess in the Middle East. That was a huge relief.
All wars have peculiar and unanticipated effects. I have been wondering about the effects on some Americans of seeing news about suicide bombers. Before the Gulf War that was fairly rare. Then it became a daily occurrence. Those who think it has no effect should consider that some people are deeply affected by anyone who takes their life for some cause. I suspect this sort of thing might well account for the increase in incidents like Sandy Hook - a kind of Americanized version of suicide bombing. Some people "get ideas".
Speaking of Andrew Cuomo - and Joe Biden - I have been re-reading Joyce Lee Malcolm's "Guns and Violence" and notice that Biden "if it saves only one life" - see page 129 ! Oh, and ALL THE OTHER ITEMS in these gun control bills are right out of arguments made in the House of Lords to disarm the "lower classes" in England. First they proclaim how Free is England, and then they order ambassadors in Europe to report on gun control laws on the continent. Talk about hypocrites.
Yoo Hoo... Mr. President..... Over Here.... As a resident living in a border state that is rife with kidnappings, murders, human trafficking, and drugs, what are your plans to secure the border with Mexico? Your man-woman heading Homeland Security announced several years ago that the border was more secure now than it had ever been. Can you please provide us with documented proof of that within 24 hours, and also, we need you to go and spend seven days on the border as proof that it is safe and fit for American citizens.

That's all he ever does is pretend to "like" some group, be it black, hispanic, gays etc. The truth is, he hates ALL Americans, but especially white Christians. Obama is pro-Obama, and nothing more. He dumped Rev. Wright when he was no longer 'useful'. He dumped Bill Ayres when he was no longer 'useful'. He dumped Van Jones when he was no longer 'useful' and I'm sure there are more. In private, I'm certain these people still reflect his ideology but in public, he no longer 'needs' them to advance his 'agenda'. He's what I call a 'Situational Hypocrite'. Your point that if he is so 'pro-hispanic, why is he deporting so many of them, is easy to understand if you come at it from the 'Situational Hypocrisy' stand point.
My point is that I don't get how he's so pro-Hispanic if he loves to deport them. I understand what you mean.
Oh, I understand what you're saying and he should be deporting them, they are here illegally. What he isn't doing is making any effort to restrict them from coming across the border in the first place, so saying that he has deported more of them is kind of like trying to empty lake Michigan with a 5 gallon bucket and then saying 'I've done more to empty lake Michigan than the last President has'. It's still nothing but typical Obama double talk.

This man "takes questions", right. All the questions are pre-submitted and he "allows" the questioner to ask them. We can hear the original question but any rebuttal or further comment on his answer we can't hear, giving him the ability to avoid any confrontation or further clarification of his answer. Cute and cowardly and deceitful.

Why you should fight all attempts to make illegal immigrants 'legal' - here's a cautionary tale from the UK:
Because Tony Blair and his NuLab government wanted to crush conservative voters and the Tory Party, they opened the doors to muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and were extremely lenient with the illegal ones coming from Somalia, Afghanistan, Nigeria ... google 'Andrew Neather' ...
Now they're here, and can bring their whole family to the UK, and cousins to marry their daughters to. Living on benefits, occupying social housing, occupying private homes rented for the by the government.
Who's paying?
We're paying.
And we can't get them out, because that's against their human rights, also made law by Tony Blair. The fact that his wife is partner in a huge law firm specialising in human rights of muslims of course didn't play a role.
This is exactly what Obama wants to achieve: get large numbers of immigrants, made 'legal', so they can vote for him and the dems, and so as to crush the conservative voters. He certainly has copied the NuLab playbook - in more ways than one.
Isn't it funny...or sad really, how the CONGRESS, namely the House, is responsible for drafting an agenda, yet it's the 2/3 majority of Senate liberals and a liberal President who are dictating the agenda?
Liberals are relentless moving from one item to the next -- health care, higher taxes, gun laws, and now immigration -- they never miss a beat.
When's the last time you heard a Republican on the OFFENSIVE spelling out THEIR AGENDA? Do they even have one? Or is their agenda simply to cower to liberals?

This whole illegal issue reminds me of the "Muslim Jihad" issue in this way: We keep hearing that only the fringe, radical Muslims embrace jihad, and that the "overwhelming majority" of Muslims are peace-loving, tolerant people who only want to be free to worship, blah blah blah. Yet, we NEVER hear from these so-called "peace loving", average, every-day Muslims (maybe Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, but that's IT!) speaking OUT against jihad and terrorism.
We also have thousands and thousands of people living in this country who are sons/daughters of legal immigrants, are legal immigrants themselves, or are in line waiting to become a legal immigrant. We NEVER hear from these people. Where is their outrage over this amnesty idea? You mean to tell me that the majority of Americans will agree with the "Blanket Amnesty" folk instead of the "I Did It The Right Way and So Should You!" folk??? I SERIOUSLY doubt that.
I swear, these are such winnable arguments. Immigration, Guns, Welfare, Spending, National Defense, and on and on... I think it says more about OUR side than the other that we simply CANNOT win a winnable argument.
The problem is, how far gone are we, as a nation? Is there time to find someone who can win the argument? My fear is, even if we win the argument, we'll have lost the war, and it will be a hollow victory.

I'm trying to convince my spouse to move to Canada. What's the point of staying anymore. It's going to be just another mess pretty soon. I watched about ten minutes of that news conference. Flipped the channel before I threw the remote through the TV. He makes me angry. Very angry. I've never seen a more arrogant, lying weasel, SOB. Hypocritical liar. He knows the so called press wont question him. He knows they fall to their knees with just him being present. The man makes me sick.
This actual press conference is about the debt ceiling, not about amnesty.

Illegal aliens should not be granted "amnesty" or any special favors or treatment whatsoever. Period. They broke the law... that's all we need to say.

We already have a large legal immigration policy as well as laws prohibiting illegal immigration. Open borders is suicide for any Nation. Stuff like this always riles me up.

How about this for immigration reform, we change the law that children born in the US to illegals are automatically US citizens. This law is being exploited. Instead at least one parents must already be a legal citizen before the child is naturalized. Second we go hard after the people who employee illegals. We don't have to waste time going after every illegal immigrant, there's too many of them, instead we make it so economically uncomfortable for them they will want to return home. Third we lessen the red tape involved in becoming a US citizen so there's no excuse for people not to become legal citizens. Last but not least we do whatever we have to secure our borders.
Secure the borders first, then, look at enforcing existing laws as they relate to illegal immigrants, each and every one of them, the operative word being illegal.
I take exception to your amnesty plan. We have laws already in place and they need to be enforced. Encouraging and rewarding the violation of these laws does the same for other laws. Put a bounty on them, round them up along with their anchor babies and dump them back in Mexico. They came to this country and remained her illegally because Reagan granted amnesty and knew it would happen again. Put the National Guard at the border and shoot to kill when their foot touches our soil. Do this enough and it's a great deterrent.
I personally am sick to death of paying taxes when illegals are given a free pass at tax evasion. I am also sick of the employers being blamed when illegals use their relatives' papers to get jobs. Go after the criminal and that is the illegal alien.
The illegal aliens are not immigrants. People that come to America following the laws are immigrants!
Well that's a bit harsh, do you really think were there going to put bounties on illegals on this day in age? Not likely, we have to be more realistic. I don't like illegal aliens (thank you for the correct term) any more than you do, but trying to round them all up is virtually impossible. I stand by my opinions on the matter, the best approach is to create the conditions were it is advantageous to become a US citizen and disadvantageous to remain an illegal alien.
Have you seen Cory Booker's video putting a $1,000 bounty on neighbors turning in neighbors who are gun owners? I call it "Doing a Booker". Gun ownership is provided for under our 2nd Amendment. If it's okay for his gun bounty, I say let's do it for illegals. It is not impossible to round them up. We can easily find the majority in the sanctuary cities and employers should be not only allowed but encouraged to report illegals that are applying for jobs. To reward the illegal behavior again, like Reagan did, will result in millions upon millions more in the next decade. Unless we stand up for our laws, they are all worthless. Reagan's amnesty illegals overwhelmingly voted for Obama and other Dems like Harry Reid! Illegals in MN cost us over $774 million annually, work for cash, get free medical care at the emergency room and take seats in classrooms paid for by taxpayers. This must stop!
I agree with your comments generally, but if I may point out something RE: employers:
I worked for many years with 401k and pension plans. We were an administrative firm that made sure plans were in compliance with Dept of Labor regs and also would allocate employer funds (profit sharing and match) to employees.
Anyway, as part of the job, we were also responsible for keeping payroll files (names, socials, date of hire, etc..) up to date.
I cannot tell you HOW MANY plans I would receive where the employer would send me payroll info, and I would cross reference it to the prior year's info (checking for new hires, or people that quit, or retired, etc..) and would come across something like this:
Julio Lopez, SS# 111-22-3333 (2005)
Julio Lopez, SS# 111-22-3334 (2006)
So, naturally, I would have to call the employer and ask "Hey, is this a typo (which is what it looks like, right?) or is there another Julio Lopez working there now?" (keep in mind, the SS# was often off by 1 digit, like in my example)
The employer would say: "Oh, no, that's the same guy, he just came in and told me he had a new social, so I updated it."
QUOI???!! You cannot just "UPDATE" a social!! This would happen over and over and over again, across ALL KINDS of companies... and I would marvel at how the employer/hr personnel would just take the info and pass it on to me. CLEARLY, these people were here illegally. The employer now KNOWS that something fishy is going on! To ignore it is INDEED "criminal" in my mind, even though the initial crime, of course, is the law-breaking involved in coming here illegally.
There is plenty of blame to go around... I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the complicity of the employers in exacerbating this problem. :)
I'm not sure when you worked on 401k and pension plans but the new hire reporting laws in the welfare reform act under Clinton cleaned up the vast majority of this. Because of this, what we are now seeing is hispanics sharing their identification papers because the one SSN is valid. Because eVerify is largely not used and not designed correctly when you verify the SSN that's all it does, it doesn't tell you that person is working 15 jobs. The same is true with the new hire reporting, employers are only told if the SSN is invalid or doesn't match the first few characters of the 1st and last name.
If employers are not maintaining the documentation and required information I'm all for the fines. But when they are blamed because illegals are using false papers, that is on the illegals. We employers are prohibited from seeking out other employment information and that should be changed.

You are debating with yourself and putting words into the mouths of others. That is not sanitary.
That is the whole point of the argument, anchor babies and not US citizens. You cannot under federal law benefit from the fruits of an illegal act.
