According to RCP this is the context of this video:

After the economy added 310,000 jobs in May 2004 and the unemployment rate was 5.6%, then-candidate Barack Obama used the Democrat weekly radio address to attack the Bush administration for citing good economic numbers.

“For the past few weeks, President Bush and members of his administration have traveled the nation to celebrate recent improved economic statistics. Well, I’ve been traveling too, all over this large and diverse state. In cities and suburbs, downstate and upstate, I’ve heard from people who say it’s way too early to claim victory when it comes to our economy,” Obama says in the Democrats’ radio address from June 26, 2004.

“After three dismal years of job-loss, we all welcome encouraging statistics,” Obama acknowledges in the 2004 address. “But for most Americans, the health of our economy is measured in a different and more personal way: If I lose my job, where will I find one that pays as well and offers real benefits? Can I afford health-care coverage on my own, or the cost of sending my children to college? Will I ever be able to save and retire with dignity and security? These are the questions I hear hardworking people asking. For them, the basic rewards of a middle-class life, rewards that we once took for granted, have become an elusive dream.”

310,000 jobs added in a month? — BAD!!!
80,000 jobs added in a month? — A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!!!
Recession when your neighbor looses their job
Depression when I loose a job
Recovery when Obama looses his job
The recovery begins in January 2013

    • Rightstuff1

Classic leftist double speak. Nothing is good when your “enemy” is achieving it and nothing is bad when its your watch.

Can anyone really say that Obama is a guy that lives and breathes “the buck stops here” mentality? No they can’t. not even his supporters can say that. That being the case get the hell out of the way and let someone else take the helm.

      • kong1967

Obama takes credit for what resulted because of Bush, and he blames Bush for what resulted because of himself (Obama).

  • 4Hoppes2

At a time when the unemployment rate was a whopping 5.6%.

    • Boris_Badenoff

Obama would kiss a monkeys ass for a 5.6 jobless rate about now…

      • Jay

Wouldn’t he have to be pretty limber to do that? Sorry, sometimes I just can’t help myself.

        • wodiej

lol…you two need to quit. Just because obama bent over for a middle eastern leader doesn’t mean he’ll do it for a monkey.

          • warpmine

He’s done far worse than kiss a monkey’s butt.

        • kong1967

Ouch. You have to be careful calling Obama a monkey. The left will accuse you of referring to his race. I know you were only talking about Obama, though, and it’s funny.

      • kong1967

I don’t know that we aren’t right where Obama wants us. The more he destroys the economy the more the left is able to creep in big government to replace it.

  • November 6th 2012 Can not get here soon enough.

    • warpmine

Unless the new administration and Congress reverse the last 100 years, nothing will change except the color of the walls

  • jackl92

The official comment from the White House, “never mind”.

  • Army_Pilot1967

“For them, the basic rewards of a middle-class life, rewards that we once took for granted, have become an elusive dream.” Yeah, buddy, that dream is more elusive now than at any time under GB, but you and your team keep spinning bad news about job creation like it’s the greatest thing that has happened in years. I don’t suppose you could use real, accurate numbers for jobs created because that would blow you completely out of the water.

    • warpmine

When you take that 80k number and compare it to Zero’s -0- number form months back, it makes the former a step in the right direction. LOL!

      • kong1967

In a Bush / Obama race Bush would be on lap 10 while Obama is on lap 1.

  • If the press were remotely objective, this fools wouldn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

  • aZjimbo

What a complete joke this man is.

    • kong1967

I wish it was a joke and none of this ever happened.

      • aZjimbo

I hear you. Like a bad dream that never ends.

        • kong1967

This one better end! You’re scaring me, lol.

          • aZjimbo

you and me both. I say Nov. 6 is a good day for it to end. If it goes past that we are in deep trouble.

            • kong1967

Yep. I am confident we can defeat him but I worry about what manufactured crisis the left is going to dream up to forcefully keep him in office via martial law. It’s looking more and more like he’s going to start a war in Syria and we could wind up in a war against Russia. I could see Obama using that as an excuse to not hand over power. He might hand over power without a hitch. We’ll see.

              • aZjimbo

I have heard this theory many times over. I don’t see it happening but I would not take Iran off the table. Bottom line if he loses the election he is a goner. I do think this creep will do anything to hold on to power. his ego is that big and so is his wife’s.

                • kong1967

Yeah, I know. It’s just a theory and I doubt it will happen. I can see the libs manufacturing a crisis in order to effect the elections, though. Hopefully that doesn’t even happen.

                • aZjimbo

Bottom line we have to get rod of this guy. I don’t care what people say about Romney. He is better than barry. JS

                • kong1967

                  I agree.

                • aZjimbo

I hope others see it the same way.

  • Nukeman60

You don’t suppose we could ask Gov Romney to just sit down and let Barry Obama of 2004-2008 debate Barack Obama of 2008-2012, could we?

    It would be most entertaining.

    • Boris_Badenoff

lol.. Maybe the Romney campaign will make a commercial with that idea…

      That would be entertaining…

    • kong1967

I’m sure there will be ads of Obama then compared to Obama now.

…and you all elected this MARXIST MORON .”(period)

    P.S. …HA !”

  • 911Infidel

Sorry man, I can’t stand to listen to that Kenyan piece of shite.

    • kong1967

You must be talking about someone else. Obama has proven that he was born here becasue he showed us his very late and fake birth certificate. The bio that Obama wrote about himself in the early 90’s was a typo and it’s just pure coincidence it matched where his own family in Kenya said he was born (in Kenya).

Can’t you see that the world is just out to get him and make him out to be a liar and a fraud? — sarcasm

      • 911Infidel

OMG That was too funny. ROFLMAO.

  • Joe

    And the LSM says:

    • kong1967

When Romney gets in office, though, you can bet everything you own that they will be very harsh with him. A month in they will be blaming him for the current conditions. They are already bashing him for taking a vaction while the country is suffering….even though he’s not even in position to do anything about it. Obama is and they give him a pass.

  • Joe

I hope “MAMA” is reading this

780,000 More Women Unemployed Today Than When Obama Took Office

  • johnos2112

Over 300000 filing for unemployment PER WEEK for over 3 YEARS and 80000 jobs added in June 2012 is progress? Turn the page and rid of this filth!

  • banzi641

  • Jay

I drive OTR and listen to the radio all day and every time I hear him, it seems like he’s spouting a new lie or regurgitating an old one. It’s gotten to the point where I just make the presunption that whatever he says is some kind of falsehood.

  • wodiej

I’m skipping the video because I can’t stand listening to him or looking at him. I’ll just say one thing:

  • zhuozi282

  • cheyennecowboy

Sounds like the pot calling the kettle….well, you know what I mean!

    • kong1967

Bush was a battleship and Obama is the Titanic.

  • “For them, the basic rewards of a middle-class life, rewards that we once took for granted, have become an elusive dream.” It’s “elusive” because the current president and his economic policies stink so bad. You didn’t hear this kind of talk in the 1980s when the Reagan economy was booming. But to socialists like Obama, their only demand is MORE from the government, more benefits, more welfare, more free student loans, more of just about everything. People like Obama never seem to quite mention where all this money comes from. Well, it comes from YOU! So if you want to keep funding every program under the sun and become a vassal of the state, vote for Obama in November. If not, throw the bum out of office and vote for Romney. It’s as simple as that.

  • bjohnson55

There is one word only I want to hear from this golf playing, vacationing Marxist in Chief say; GOODBYE. Thats it, nothing else because what ever else comes out this guys mouth is a lie.

  • kong1967

Bush was bad for touting good numbers, yet Obama is good for touting bad numbers.

“We’re headed in the right direction!” — Obama

Pssst….Obama. I have a secret. I will take Bush’s numbers any day over yours.
