Obama’s EPA has now set new regulations that will make electricity rates ‘necessarily skyrocket’, just as he said they would back in 2008:
WSJ – EPA is announcing an overall 32% cut in power-plant carbon emissions by 2030 from 2005 levels, similar to what EPA set in the draft rule proposed last summer.
According to Marco Rubio, this will cause electricity rates to go up:
Rubio is right. All this will do is force coal plants out of existence and raise electricity rates as it forces renewable energy on to Americans, all in the name of phony Global Warming, something this rule will do nothing to fix.
Just watch this interview from last year with Murray Energy’s CEO warning about the first run of these EPA regulations. One important thing he pointed out is that coal is only 4 cents per kilowatt-hour and Obama wants to replace it with renewable energy sources, wind and solar, that cost 22 cents per kilowatt-hour:
