Obama had an interview with CBS News earlier today and when asked what his biggest mistake was in his first term, he said that it was that he didn’t realize that the presidency was also about telling a good story to the American people. According to the Carl Cameron, the Romney campaign is going to hammer him for it:

Indeed, the Romney campaign is responding:

I disagree. You’ve told some whoppers. I mean JRR Tolkien has nothing on your stories.

    • Sober_Thinking

      Too true!

    • B-Funk

      LOL! Well said!

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/OOKK3KBK7M2DX5OKOV7ODZ3QTA Jay

      You criticizing Orcbama?

    • FutureOnePercent

At least Tolkien had the decency to let us know his work was fiction…

  • Stehekin912

His biggest mistake was doing nothing BUT telling stories to the American people, IMHO.

  • 911Infidel

You’re whole life is one big story…of fiction…So what are you talking about Hussein?

    • keyesforpres

Oops! You beat me to it. I should read the comments before posting!

      • 911Infidel

No probs. I seldom look at others comments. I just put down what I’m thinking and the world be damned.

    • kong1967

Now they are saying that Romney is the most secretive candidate ever. After Obama spent millions concealing his past? These people have no shame and will stop at no accusation to win. So far, every accusation they have made winds up hurting them because Obama is a lot worse than his accusation of Romney.

      • 911Infidel

Its just more Dhimirat projection. They like to accuse Repubiks of the very same thing that they do. Each time that they do that, they give away their real intentions and their thinking. They betray themselves and their tactical doctrine constantly, by running off at the mouth. As we know Dhimis just can’t can’t keep a secret, secret.

        • kong1967

Yep, it shows how their mindset works. Everything is a game and a strategy on how to fool the public.

          • 911Infidel

Yeah, but its like studying the enemies’ battle doctrine by just letting them talk. They constantly betray themselves with their own criticisms of the opposition. The are exactly what they claim us to be.

            • kong1967

I agree. Projection at it’s finest.

  • piperlord

how embarrassing for the won. i am blushing for my country.

  • pistol pete

You didn’t have to bother telling a story. The media made one up for you. With half the nation and nearly all the presstitutes in a lather to ‘make history’,they purposely ignored your past.I’m from Illinois and knew what this POS was. Now a lot of people are suffering buyers remorse over the whole hopenchange thing.

    • keyesforpres

      “Presstitutes”….good one!!

      • pistol pete

Even we conservatives have a moment of clarity every now and again.

  • joyfulgiver

Is he reading a teleprompter? He keeps taking his eyes off the interviewer to “find” his words. His biggest mistake, not speaking the truth and expecting that no one will remember what you said. It’s difficult when you don’t tell the truth to keep track of what you said and what you think you are supposed to believe.

We don’t need no stinken’ stories, we need jobs!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

You mean you didn’t tell a big enough “story” Barry? ROFL!

  • piperlord

What a jerk. TOUGH TIMES that he created on purpose! omg.

    • RighteousCrow_JustCaws

On purpose! That’s right; it may take years, but Rush will be vindicated yet.

  • shafeke

During the last election Obama was asked to define leadership. His answer (his ONLY answer) was that a leader needs to be “persuasive”. I don’t know about you but I am sure that wouldn’t even make my top 10 list. This guy is a used car salesman (interested in a Volt) or maybe he wants Jay carney’s job but a president he is not.

    • FutureOnePercent

      “Persuasive”?

That’s a slimy answer if I’ve ever heard one.

  • badbadlibs

Telling stories? That’s all that bo and his lousy rotten brownshirts have done.
To him they weren’t “good enough”….how much does he think sane people can take coming out of his vile mouth???????

  • keyesforpres

Yo Barry Soetero, the only reason you are squatting in the WH is because you told a big fat story. Your whole life is a story….a work of fiction.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Telling stories?! That’s all he’s done is tell stories…. tall tales of fantasy.

    • warpmine

      “Tales from the Darkside”

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

In short, he wasn’t a big enough liar. Well, after ObamaCare and the lie he told about the mandate not being a tax, I don’t think he has to worry about telling “a good story” to the American public. Like all liars, this man should be looking for a new job NOW.

    • warpmine

I disagree, I think he should be working on his appeal from his jail cell.

  • jjsmntha

His nose is so big from the stories that even Pinnocchio would be embarrassed. I heard once that to tell the truth a person only has to remember half as much because a lie will grow like a vine out of control and what was originally said because obscure.

    • pistol pete

If he keeps lying, his lips wtll turn purple.Oh…wait.

  • BSScoop

We heard you, Hussein. Talking more often will not change our minds.

    BS
    Don’t Tread On Me

  • Linky1

“Obama had an interview with CBS News earlier today and when asked what his biggest mistake was in his first term, he said that it was that he didn’t realize that the presidency was also about telling a good story to the American people.

Hey, Barry: There’s an even better story coming out soon in a book and on a DVD-it’s called “The Communist” and “Dreams from my Real Father.” If you read it, you may learn something about your background.

  • 12grace

No, obama you have told realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly good stories it’s just that we all know your stories are all lies.

  • steprock

He STILL thinks that everyone will like his RED ideas if he just communicates them better. He really does think that! Mind-boggling just how out of touch he is.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OQI5D66OXO7X2FE4NVCZC7BAMA Joe

————————————A LEGEND IN HIS OWN MIND!

  • SaraPFan

Can you imagine Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington saying their failures were not telling a story to the American people?

  • http://twitter.com/nickmarschel straw man

Have you ever heard the story about Fidel Castro? How about Ho Chi Minh? Perhaps the story of how Chairman Mao took over China would be a good story to tell. These are all great stories, just so long as you quit the story sometime before the ending.

  • Army_Pilot1967

Did he almost say, “…during my first term…” and caught himself and said, “…during my first couple of years…” Hopefully you won’t have a second term in which to practice your story telling. Your stories aren’t helping rebuild the economy and your stories aren’t encouraging businesses to hire more employees. Truth of the matter you have engineered a decline in America’s power and prestige around the world and that is NO STORY!!!!

  • dk_in_tn

Obama we heard your story. That is what your books are–just stories. We heard and we don’t like. You were elected to lead and you did everything but!!!

  • aZjimbo

What a bunch of complete delusional bs. This man is so far over his head its sickening.

  • hongryhawg

Now you’re going to blame it on something even more outrageous than “It’s Bush’s fault.” You’re going to blame your inability to tell a good story. It’s your storytelling that got us to where we are today. There’s nothing wrong with that ability. You are called the ‘Pretender’ for a reason. You can lie better than most. The fault actually lies with the children that believed your tales and voted for you because of them. Let’s hope their done with fairy tales.

  • Jim Botts

Are you kidding me? What does he think his entire 2008 campaign was about? It was one big story (i.e. Lie). This guy is so narcissistic as to be mentally ill. Certifiable!!

  • Sober_Thinking

Lol… what about composite women? What about the state of the economy? What about how peaceful Chavez is? The same old tired stories…

    Obama = Liar

  • JoelDick

Oh no; you told a good story. The problem was that it was a lie!

  • NYGino

Problem is that all your stories are fiction and fiction isn’t selling right now. Try writing some narratives based on non fiction, that’s what’s in big demand right now.

  • dabbobean

What a sad, pathetic, little excuse for a man.

  • warpmine

No, President Azzwipe, that’s not your biggest mistake. Your biggest mistake is not realizing that the President is expected to lead…picking cabinet posts and giving them to choice socialist wasn’t to bright either. Stating that no lobbyist would be part of and then 24 hrs into the term installing seven of them…..

The biggest mistake was running for President. Most of your predecessors like Jesse Jackson and Sharkton were running for the prestige knowing full well they were not going to come close….but you sir had a shot because complicit media helped you out and effed everyone in the country that was counting on better economic times ahead.

  • dabbobean

    To paraphrase Samuel Johnson:
Dear Mr. Obama your stories are both good and original…….the only problem is, the parts that are good aren’t original and the parts that are original aren’t good.

  • odin147

He has been telling us nothing but stories

  • hbnolikeee

By good enough story are we safe to assume he means he wished he was a better LIAR?

  • Patriot077

And he said it with a straight face!

    Talk about an empty suit!

  • FreeManWalking

Maybe he isn’t a Narcissist after all, I thought for sure as the greatest LIAR and CHEAT this country has seen, he would be so much in love with the LIES he has told and proud of the way he told them.

  • http://black-avenger-1.livejournal.com/profile VirusX

No, Obama, the problem definitely wasn’t that you weren’t a good enough liar. The people you didn’t fool (like me), you never could fool. You can fool some of the people, all of the time, you can fool, all of the people, some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people, all of the time, as your Illinois ‘home boy’, famously once said.

    Liar.

    • marketcomp

Perhaps he is trying to appeal to our softer-side! But he’s still a liar!

  • dennisl59

Show pity for El Presidente’ or Else!

    • James1754

I do feel pity for the president. I pity any president who ranks lower than Jimmy Carter and Obama does.

  • James1754

Oh I don’t know. He appears to have told a big enough story to have gotten elected several times, without any qualifications for any of the offices he has held.

  • John_Frank

Really. So, you did not lie well enough. Talk about a cynical view.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_H7FEKYRPO27DV3U5SCOION6M7U Chris

Obama admitted he is a “story teller”.
So the Romney commercial is right… he is a story teller (liar).

  • Beausthebest
  • http://profile.yahoo.com/OOKK3KBK7M2DX5OKOV7ODZ3QTA Jay

Only problem, lots of those people who aren’t working, the sheeple, are going to vote the big O to keep those Obamabucks rolling in. Why work if you can work the system? I tell you what, I was never a big fan of Slick Willie, but he’s looking better and better every day. Let’s have some more welfare reform as we downsize gubment.

  • 12grace

    This sums it up!
    Kids Attack obama!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jude-OConnor/100002766170448 Jude O’Connor

The staff around Obama, with the intelligence of a stone, embarrassing the Country with gaffes that were impossible for the msm to cover and his manners and off the cuff comments were deplorable. Does a seventeen minute speech bring back a memory for an answer to a question? This was by far not his greatest mistake which was thinking he had the intelligence to be President in the first place.

  • CalCoolidge

Liberalism never fails because it is fundamentally flawed. It’s always that the self-appointed statist genius/idiots didn’t explain well enough that the moron masses could grasp why the apparent mass misery is really nirvana.

  • stage9

Actually, I think what Obama has done VERY WELL is “telling a story”. We call that lying in the South.

  • bjohnson55

President whiner didn’t tell a big enough lie that the American people would believe. Get over yourself President Obama, America has.

  • agas84363

mr president…you have to come to terms with yourself…..your policies are a disaster to this country….your good stories are nothing but bull crap!!!!..you are full of CRAP!!!!!!What are you going to do now??? Change your stories to what everyone wants to hear?? How about the truth for once???

  • LadyPenguin

Well, there are stories, there are fables, there are fantasies, there are fairy tales, there are tall tales, there are white lies, and there are Lies. Now, taking this even further, there are people who prevaricate…which means lie.

(IMHO), the pathological liar uses all of the above; take your pick, Mr. President.

  • veek46

I just heard on Fox News a Democratic strategist that says that the Romney campaign has been the most secretive since Nixon. This from a campaign that seals everything having to do with the history Obama. By the way, who IS this Obama guy and where did he come from? Inquiring minds want to know.

  • http://www.facebook.com/VaBhodi Darrell Griffin

First he says “my first ter…..”, then he goes on to basically say that it’s about how they package it, not the policy itself. In other words, we are too stupid to understand the difference. If they tell the “story” right, then we sheople will follow along like we are supposed to, even if it’s bad policy.

This guy is probably one of the most arrogant fraks I have ever seen in my life.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IJYM277N7VJNF772U6DUVQKHAE TIMERUNNER

obama saids he hasn’t told a good enough story to the American peoples.

    It’s all Bush’s fault.
    I’m a christian.
    I’m a American born where?
The private sector is doing just fine.
Everyone gets free or affordable healthcare, it’s not a tax.
Obamacare is Constitutional in the commerce clause, but not as a tax.
The list goes on an on!

Obama should have said I didn’t tell the American people the big truth!
But that’s Ok we used our personnal lie detectors ( reasoning skills)and we found Obama can tell out of this world humdingers.

the #1 liar from hell! OK my mistake, the 2nd biggest liar from hell! then follows the democrat party.

  • kong1967

This has got to be the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard. Obama, you were on the televison more than the last ten Presidents combined. You gave so many speeches the public stopped listening. You talked too much!
