When did only winning a gold count?
When I was growing up, aspiring to make it to the Olympics was important.When I was in my mid 20's a guy at my local gym made it to the Olympic Trials and we were all sooooo hyped and thrilled for him. We were giddy with emotion.
Getting there was most of the battle. Once you were there, just medaling was beyond impressive.
But, but, but Mr. President. Michael didn't do that. He didn't win those 19 medals. The government was responsible, right? /sarc
Well, Micheal was caught smoking a bong. Perhaps that's the foundation of that statement.
