Obama’s guest to State of the Union speech was an illegal alien who SELF-DEPORTED to Mexico!

Apparently I’m the only one to notice that Obama invited someone to his last “State of the Union” speech who is the posterboy for “self-deportation,” which I was always told was racist or something.

From the New York Times:

Mr. Vazquez, who was brought to the United States illegally as a child and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 2009, decided to return to his home country of Mexico and re-enter the country legally. When he returned to the United States, Mr. Vazquez joined the Army and served one tour of duty in Afghanistan, eventually earning American citizenship.

So… wait a minute. If Vasquez was able to earn his citizenship the legal honest way, then why can’t all other illegal aliens? He clearly showed that while it might have been difficult to do, he did it.

In his case, it was only through the intervention of a Democrat Senator that allowed his re-entry to be a year instead of ten years.

Here’s Vasquez speaking before Congress about his extraordinary act:

He should be applauded for holding true to the laws of the United States and then returning to fight for our country. He is truly exceptional. But if Obama is praising what he did, then why can’t other illegal aliens do the same?
