By The Right Scoop

I heard this last night and my first impression was disappointment. No, not because of the lunacy of Chris Matthews, that’s expected. Rather, it was the ‘defense’ against Matthew’s comment from former RNC chair that made shake my head (via Newsbusters):

Matthews relating Republicans to the KKK is entirely offensive, but sadly expected because he’s a loon. I don’t mean to be so dismissive as it should be exposed and that’s one reason we’re posting it. But Steele passed up a golden opportunity to fight back against the false narrative that Republicans are the party of the KKK. Instead he made it personal by saying “don’t go there with me on that”, as if his offense was his only defense.

I know it’s easy to be critical in hindsight, but it would have been so much more awesome had the fought back against the false narrative instead of personalizing it.

I don’t think that Michael Steele’s response was personalizing it at all. But he and others do need to be harsher on Chris Matthews. I’d like for once to see my fellow Catholics, like Steele, to confront Matthews’ failure to behave like the Catholic he insists he is.

Agree, but why should a Republican or a Conservative even be on any MSNBC show?

MSNBC shows have tiny audiences. They can’t even get 1% of the country to watch any of their shows. Matthews is lucky to get 500,000 watching in a country of 300 million +.

I wonder if MSNBC’s advertisers realize they are wasting their bucks on this network.

      • E. Lee Zimmerman

Until MSNBC goes the way of the dodo, I think Republicans should go on their network. We’ve no reason to be afraid of them, but I strongly agree that they should not go on their network during prime time. Deny them the best guests, that way the institutions are pushed out of the business OR required to put on dumber talking heads than either party can spare.

    • E. Lee Zimmerman

Sorry, but Steele’s a coward. Always has been. Always will be. He wants to be embraced by the mainstream elite, and, with that as a driving force, we shouldn’t be looking to him for leadership, much less setting the facts straight.

There isn’t a bullet cheap enough to waste on Matthews, Schultz, Olberman, Axelrod…..

Now that I think about it, you’d need a very large box of those cheap bullets.. :D

Sorry we don’t joke about shooting people.

Well lets see here, the party of Orville Faubus, Bull Conner, and Jim Crowe was which party again? And which party was the old Grand Cyclops in WVa a part of again? Oh that’s right it was was the Dhimrhoid party.Prissy Chrissy is a pi$$ poor liar. Wait isn’t there a commandment about lying in the Catholic Church? Would be #9? What is that commandment again? Oh right…”“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

Better get to Confession and repent Prissy.

  • Nukeman60

I don’t put much stock in any ‘conservative’ that decides they need to work for MSNBC. What exactly does that accomplish, anyway? It’s like a reformed alcoholic deciding they want to be a bartender. Sure, they can do it, but sooner or later, they will succumb to the ways of that establishment.

It certainly doesn’t expand their audience, as the few dozen people watching these shows are mostly family members and die-hard loons, anyway.

    • Sober_Thinking

In a way, it gives some credibility to that wretched rag of a so-called news agency.

“See? We have the former head of the RNC with us saying these things!” It certainly isn’t an attempt to be either fair or balanced (FNC fails too).

Michael Steele disgraces himself with each appearance…

  • denbren52

They can deny it all they want but the party of the Grand Wizards was always the DEMOCRAT Party. This needs to be repeated over and over and over. And, yes, Steele should have stated that plainly and put Chris Mushmouth in his place!

  • NJK

He’s a really sick individual. The more they do this, the more people turn away from them. I was watching the Military Channel this morning about how many Nazi saboteurs were here during WWII, and I think they’ve infiltrated every inch of our government and media. They are still here, make no mistake about it, and they’re working with the Jihadists to destroy the country from within.

  • Sober_Thinking

That’s why Steele was fired… he was ineffective.

Chris Matthews is an absolute moron. The fact that this buffoon has an audience at all is an indictment against the public schools system.

Time to fight the “racist” narrative (again). Maobama simply has NOTHING else does he?

    • nibblesyble

uh, Steel helped herald in the 2010 upset in the congress, he also ensured, by changing the rules, that the primary process would not be over with by March, but could go on longer and give others a chance at the nom. Which even if Romney does become the nominee he bloody well had to earn it and earn it hard! I think Steel had his moments, but he deserves credit..that is for sure.

  • Sober_Thinking

Where’s the RNC in all of this? Where’s the warranted outrage over this?

  • 2besusie

Chris Matthews, the Grand Wizard of historical ignorance and stupidity!

  • KenInMontana

I would have probably brought up Robert Byrd and watched, smiling, while Matthews tried to weedle and squirm his way out of that.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Michael Steele has been a disappointment for a while, as he’s publically slammed the gop for not having more blacks. Scuse me?!
This isn’t surprising for me. He could use some speaking tips and lessons from Alfonzo.

  • Susitna

I don’t understand why Republicans accept invitations from MSM morons. Don’t they understand that they make their money by insulting conservatives? Why do they support them and attend their shows? It is well known that this libs can only survive and increase their ratings when an Elephant shows up because some less intelligent viewers enjoy when a Republican gets slammed. Last but not least Mr. Matthews has a limited intelligence, is extremely vulgar and has no scruple to spread false statemets or distort history. At this point I am not sure if he can stand his own face. The same is true for Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, Lawrence O’Donnell, Al Sharpton and others.

Dear Tingles, YOUR party is the party of the Nightriders and lynchings. YOUR party is the party of the KKK. YOUR Party is the party that created Jim Crowe laws. YOUR party is the party that started a civil war because you like owning slaves. YOUR party is the party that put a member of the KKK on the Supreme Court. YOUR party is the party that had the “Southern Strategy” in the 68 election. YOUR party is the that picked a racist as its standard bearer in 1968. YOUR party is the party that honored and worshiped a Klansman in Congress. YOUR party is the party that supports Planned Parenthood, an organization created to eliminate blacks and other non-whites. YOUR party is the party that is dedicated to keeping blacks ignorant and beholding to your handouts. YOUR party is the party that gets upset when any black dares to leave the DNC Plantation and think for himself.

You are a liberal. By its very nature, liberalism IS racist.

Now STFU and get your white sheet out of the dryer before it shrinks.

Chris who? Never even watch the clips of him since tinglegate.

  • Boris_Badenoff

I wonder, did Matthews ever check with Senator Byrd on that..?

  • ApplePie101

The best way to avoid disappointment is to have no expectations. The RNC has been gutless for a long time.

  • PVG

The good news is very few folks watch this partisan hack anymore. ROBERT BIRD should have flown outta Steele’s mouth.

  • K-Bob

He could be the Grand Cyclops. One myopic eyeball.

If he wasn’t so busy being a Ghoul.

  • dk_in_tn

Stupid is as stupid does. Chrissy the KKK belongs to the dems.
