More bad news from the NY Post this morning:

The White House is leaning on Mayor Bloomberg to help create a broader package of federal gun-violence prevention initiatives than just bans on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips, according to a report yesterday.

Bloomberg, one of the most outspoken national gun-control advocates, has been critical of President Obama on the issue, and observers say the White House’s outreach could be an effort to win him over.

“We have made what we want done clear,” Bloomberg spokesman Marc LaVorgna said yesterday.

A White House working group headed by Vice President Joe Biden is looking at requiring universal background checks for gun buyers, tracking the movement and sale of weapons through a national database, strengthening mental-health checks and stiffening penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors, sources told The Washington Post.

The White House has had regular contact with Bloomberg aides, the paper said. [...]

Next think you know Obama will be tapping Piers Morgan for ideas as well. If this doesn’t make their agenda clear I’m not sure what will.

Republicans must hold their ground against this crap and not give in to the feel-good compromise-y moment of thinking they are actually accomplishing something with these new laws. As it’s been pointed out over and over, Connecticut has some of the toughest gun laws on the books including an assault weapons ban.

Just like Obama said he will not negotiate the debt ceiling fiasco we will not negotiate gun laws. Don’t pass laws against us when its you who destroy morals in this country which almost always plays a role in gun violence. We will NOT reap what YOU sow. Give us your guns Bloomberg…first.

    • aposematic

The Super Rich like Bloomie didn’t get there by being stupid… They will never give up their guns.

      • http://twitter.com/SheerPolitics Sheer Politics

Blooming Idiot doesn’t have to have guns, he has a security detail. Obama wants his input so he can claim the discussion was bipartisan. Bloomberg should be kicked out of the Republican party. He’s gone way beyond a RINO. There was a heated debate on The McLaughlin Group. McLaughlin has seriously gotten senile, btw.

        http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/01/05/buchanan_there_would_be_a_revolution_if_government_confiscated_weapons.html

JOHN MCLAUGHLIN: With no Second Amendment, Congress could pass a law, as limited as this: banning assault rifles or as sweeping as prohibiting all private firearm ownership and requiring the surrender of all privately held firearms.

BUCHANAN: There would be a revolution in this country!

MCLAUGHLIN: Baloney! That doesn’t mean you can’t own one, but you have to put it in first and then go try —
        *****

Uh…”That doesn’t mean you can’t own one…,” You just put up a scenario where they’re confiscated. Government doesn’t confiscate weapons, runs background checks and then hands them back to some! Idiot!

Obama is just sucking up to the rich! Who cares if he is seeking counsel from a mayor who is advocating taking making laws that are UNCONSITUTIONAL. This mayor is a lunatic and if Obama is seeking counsel from this ignoramus then he is even more delusional than I thought.

I heard Ted Cruz once say that the rich can afford to not have guns because they can afford to have armed guards and security. But those of us who are not rich need guns for protection of our families, self-defense, and against tyranny. This mayor is practicing with such malice that I truly sympathize with the people of New York because if an attack happens New York is usually the first to be hit as was proven in the first world trade attack under Bill Clinton and on 9/11 when George W. Bush was President and other instances of bombings and shootings. Bloomberg wants to take away guns for all because he does not want to take the time to develop a plan that supports the individual’s Constitutional right to bare arms that aligns with the Constitution. So his solution is to take all guns away as if the criminal will comply. Any politician who goes against the Constitution in this way should be thrown in jail treason and dereliction of duty.

    • Sober_Thinking

Spot on. Any of these politicians who swore to uphold and defend the Constitution and yet bleet that we shouldn’t be allowed to have guns, should be relieved of their position immediately.

If I was hired to milk a cow, and milked a goat instead or let the cow’s udders explode through neglect after agreeing to milk the cow, I wouldn’t retain my job. In this case, there is use in crying over spilt milk. Quirky example I admit… but these people were voted into office to do a job. And their job is not to do whatever the heck feels good.

I said it before and will say it again. There was a movie with Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby in it where they were teachers in Harlem or some run down, predominantly black High School. He said something, a line in that movie, that I often like to quote (and embellish) in situations like this. With regard to those who want to take our guns, here’s a loose paraphrase:

“What you’re doing is called: masturbation! It feels good but it’s not real… or productive.”

They continue to focus on guns and not the problem. Hiring Bloomberg to join in on a solution further discredits Obama’s vaunted wisdom.

      • marketcomp

I find it interesting that Bloomberg totally supports the legalization of marijuana but the banning of guns?! I mean how can one perso be so out of touch and stupid at the same time.

        • physicsnut

maybe he goes to the AlterNet site – they blame everything on White Men

And we’ll listen about as well as you’ve all listened to us. This is bull and it’s not going to happen. At least it’s not going to happen without a fight which is what they’re pushing for anyway.

    • Orangeone

I’m with you sis. When I read that I screamed at my laptop, who died and made you king bloomie? What a schmuck. I noticed crime doesn’t exist in NYC /sarc

      • NYGino

        Right.

    • Sober_Thinking

      Spot on.

I said it before, I don’t condone violent resistence… but make a move to take guns away from Americans when it’s consitutionally legal for us to own them and there will indeed be problems at the least.

This is so wrong… it stinks all the way to Pluto.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

you said it better than me Sober_brother.

      • MiketheMarine

I would prefer the nonviolent route but I am trained, very good and enjoy a good fight armed or otherwise. So, it makes no never mind to me how we get it done. I’ll leave the decision of how they want to tackle this subject up to them. Violent or not, I like our chances.

“what they’re pushing for anyway” Four more years of treason against America! How long before a bar fight breaks out and Barkie Boy declares Martial Law confiscation on all of the American people. Precedent set by Slick Willy ordering the confiscation of weapons in Waco…

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Exactly. I’ve been waiting to see how many crisis’ they create so they can’t let them go to waste. In the mean time, as people look at shiny stuff, dear leader continues to arm our enemies and work towards a martial law inducing crisis. It wasn’t that long ago that I read 1984, but I really don’t want to live it.

        • NYGino

We’ve been living it for a while now ABC. We’re just making it more and more sophisticated. When historians look back at, oh, say the first Civil War, they have a clearer picture of cause, effect, and among other things, weaponry and battle sites.

The “information age” and it’s sophisticated technology is going to be seen, in retrospect, as the most effective weapon an oppressive government can use but fortunately it is a weapon that the oppressed can use also.

In the end, we may not have a Gettysburg, Manassas, or Antietam but we will have battles played out in Drudge, NBC, Fox, TRS and such. Our fight is for the minds of those already taken prisoner, only they don’t know it, and will not until reality kicks in. We are the e-soldiers and hopefully we will prevail as such before we are forced to morph into literal soldiers to save our Country.

( the reference to “the first Civil War” was not a miscue BTW)

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

WOW! Excellently said NY! Exactly. This is one of the reasons for the CFP too- to use every kind of new media to inform, educate and counter the propaganda. Very 1984ish…

            • NYGino

Thanks ABC. I think my adult beverage just kicked in.

              • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

LOL. I wish sometimes I still partook an adult beverage once in a while. You’ve been a pleasant destraction for me tonight. Worked on, and am getting ready to upload to youtube my first in a series of videos on Benghazi. Sigh… it’s been a rough 2 weeks pouring over all of this madness. Have a drink for me NY. I’ll toast you with my diet Dr. Pepper. xoxoxo

              • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Afternoon NY! Hope you’re having a Blessed day!

                • NYGino

I sure am ABC! Laughing at myself. A light bulb in the kitchen was out so I go into the garage to get a new bulb and the step ladder and as I’m in the garage I notice the flower pot and plant that I started to work on this morning and decide that I have to finish with the planting right now, no more procrastinating on that, so I then have to go out to the back porch to get the bag of planting soil and while I’m on the porch I start to fiddle around with an almost empty watering can so I take the can and go into the kitchen to fill it up and wind up back in the kitchen, where I started out and realize that I’ve done absolutely nothing!

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

lol. Welome to my world NY. I’m like that every day now it seems! :-D
Hey- keep watch on an older thread. I’m gonna send you something in a minute.

    • physicsnut

the only actual fight I see is over what the Journal News did – I am not hearing anything about stopping obnoxious legislation from either Feinstein, or Diaz in NY.
The only time they push for a fight is if they are fairly sure they can win. That is bad news. If Diaz gets his way, go read the bill to see whether he has turned you into a felon, and what the consequences of that might be, for you.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

If it passes, there will be a lot of law abiding fellons.

        • NYGino

“…law abiding felons.” Kinda like giant shrimp.

Puhleese, the mayor of NYC?? Obama is now showing his true colors and is not holding back. However, this will cause his downfall because though some tolerated his nonsense in the first term he will only raise the hackles of more Americans who will see who he really is; a Marxist who hates America and all for which we stand.

Obama is NOT king though he thinks and acts like his power is by divine right. I personally think he is about to learn as Pharaoh did there is ONE greater than he. To God be the Glory!

    • Orangeone

And it’s beginning. The Obamabots that work noticed the return of the 6.2% employee share of Social Security…..

Gigglesnort! They’ve found out they are “rich”

          • NYGino

Well, since libs think the Constitution is evolving why should they be surprised that a word like “rich” couldn’t?

      • MiketheMarine

I did read a few posts on a PRO Maobama site and the sheeple are in utter disbelief that their pay checks got noticably smaller.

        Idiots….

How about seeking our counsel on gun control Mr President.

    • Orangeone

My opinion is to strip all elected officials of Secret Service, outlaw their children from being protected at school by armed security. Let’s try that for 10 years and study the effects.

  • NYGino

It would seem that when seeking “counsel” on the second amendment he should look to the “Second City”, Chicago. Mayor Rahm Emanuel should be an expert by now on the futility of gun control laws.

Don’t we have enough laws? …about everything?

Let’s mandate that all politicians in DC go home and stay there because we don’t need anymore laws. PERIOD.

    Obama said:

“I will not have another debate with this Congress over whether or not they should pay the bills that they’ve already racked up. If Congress refuses to give the U.S. government the ability to repay these bills on time, the consequences for the global economy would be catastrophic—far worse than a fiscal cliff.”

    WeThePeople should say:

“We will not negotiate our 2nd Amendment rights – ever. If you refuse to give the US population the ability to defend themselves as the unalienable right that it is, then the consequences for your administration would be catastrophic – far worse than what you have done to us and our economy – so help us God.”

“A White House working group headed by Vice President Joe Biden…”

There ya’ go! Weeeeeee! Obama, Joey B. and the Mayor of NYC.

What a team huh, reminiscent of Athos, Porthos and Aramis wouldn’t you say?

I am truly inspired by this impressive mini-think-tank. However, consider this much less impressive alternative. Have the best reader in DC’s fourth grade read the 2nd amendment to O’…cuz you don’t have to be smarter than a fifth grader, just at parity with the education level of a high-achieving fourth grader…preferably home-schooled.

The 2nd amendment is as plain a statement as I’ve ever seen. Does it leave room for ambiguity? No it doesn’t. Just read it, understand it, abide by it, then move on to shutting the h*ll up about it, OK? It says what it means and means what it says. I mean, “…shall not be infringed” means you can’t even touch it. Can’t augment it, can’t morph it, can’t pare it.

Anyway, I’m way ahead of you swashbuckling heroes. Whatever you come up with, call it “The Homicidal Maniac Protection Act”. You know, throw some honesty in there. Truth in advertising and all that rot.

    • NYGino

Considering the subject matter of their group, they would probably take offense at your referring to them as the Three Musketeers. Perhaps it would be more appropriate calling them Moe, Larry, and Curly. Just a thought.

Speaking of Piers Morgan … here’s a piece of news from a source he’s gotta respect: the good old leftie BBC:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-20901612

“Stun guns with a voltage 20 times stronger than police Tasers can be illegally imported into the UK with ease, a BBC investigation has found.
Possessing a stun gun carries a maximum jail sentence of 10 years but Inside Out bought two devices by mail order – which both made it through customs.
The BBC also obtained figures showing police have seized hundreds on the streets of London in recent years.
The UK Border Force (UKBF) insists it is tackling the problem.

Statistics obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show the Metropolitan Police has investigated more than 200 crimes involving the weapons in the past three years.
Over the same period they seized about 500 stun guns.
The weapons are legally manufactured abroad – but cannot be bought in the UK.”

Yep – criminals are mainly known for their strict observance of the law …

Mind – our LyingScreamingMeejah haven’t reported on any of this.

This is quite typical of the bloombutt. As he has for years, amassed one of the largest and most prolific gun collections on the planet. This include such weapon as AT-4’s, Rocket launchers, Torpedo launchers and numerous subthompsons. So once again bloombutt has proven himself just that! I guess once you go hypocrite you can never return!!

a side note, mostly to those who consider the mental cases:
One question is – was Kathy Boudin crazy ? Well then why was she hanging around with bank robbers and people making bombs and shooting cops ?
another issue is this: when someone focuses on the mentally ill, what about people who egg them on, and try to manipulate them ? I have seen that on two occasions. One guy at work was ALWAYS trying to get a guy, who had mental problems, to do something that would get him fired, always goading and provoking. Finally the guy threw a punch, and was let go as a result.
What seems like a psychological problem is often just as much social as psychological. Charles Manson would be an extreem example. How did he get those girls to use knives to carve up those victims ?
so, was somebody egging on Adam Lanza ? I bet that is a lot more relevant
than whether he used a bushmaster. why aren’t those politicians considering this question ?

Barack getting advise from “Nanny Mike” is like a fire department getting advise from an arsonist.

Or perhaps getting culinary tips from Jeffrey Dahmer.

I’m just not worried about all this blustering on gun control. There are far too many gun owners in this country, and far too many unregistered guns. I don’t see the average American (normal American, not liberal nut) playing along with any of this nonsense. It just doesn’t scare me. We are too armed and too willing to defend that right in this country. As much as people despise Obama and the government, this is picking a fight that big-eared fool can’t win. He can threaten. He can talk tough behind his Presidential Seal. He can’t win this fight.

    • M_J_S

True, we must beware about what happened during Katrina.

At this point, this country is headed to Civil War. Perhaps Obama and the libtards think they can win. I don’t.

Part of me wants him to go for it so the long awaited battle to defend liberty can begin.

Alert from Karen B. It begins, NJ Mayor offers $1000.00 to people to turn in their neighbors who own guns. I sent a separate email to our members in NJ. For us that do not live in NJ GET ON THE PHONE to Mayor Booker’s office. This is the start of Nazi Germany here in America. Newark is one of the poorest communities in New Jersey and the Mayor has this kind of money to circulate for people turning in their neighbors?? Where did he get this money. I think we can all figure that one out. PLEASE watch this video of him pleading with the people of Newark to turn in their neighbors and get $1000. THIS MUST STOP NOW!! Hammer his phone lines. Mayor Booker’s office number is:

    (973) 733-6400
