***UPDATED: VIDEO ADDED***

Finally a whole community standing up to the atheist group Freedom From Religion Foundation:

CHRISTIAN POST – Hundreds of community members hailed a school district in Ohio for deciding to let a portrait of Jesus Christ stay at the hallway of a middle school, which was threatened with a lawsuit by Freedom From Religion Foundation.

“I’m certainly not going to run down there and take the picture down because some group from Madison, Wis. who knows nothing about the culture of our community or why the picture is even there, wants me to take it down,” Jackson County School District Superintendent Phil Howard told WKKJ.

In a Jan. 2 letter to the district, the FFRF demanded the portrait, which hangs in the Jackson Middle School building, be removed, saying it is unconstitutional government endorsement of Christianity.

Howard said the portrait – placed in 1947 by a local chapter of the Young Men’s Christian Association – is one of several displays in the school’s Hall of Honor. “We’re not violating the law and the picture is legal because it has historical significance. It hasn’t hurt anyone.”

About 600 members of the community showed up at the Jackson City School Board meeting last week to support the administration’s decision to keep the picture.

Howard showed a framed poster of America’s motto, “In God We Trust,” and Ohio’s motto of “With God, All Things Are Possible.” He then cited ORC 3313.801, which states that a copy of the national or state official mottos is donated to a school district, or if money is donated to the district specifically for the purpose of purchasing such material, the board of education of the school district shall accept the donation and display the motto in an appropriate manner, according to Jackson County Times-Journal.

Oh man, I am CHEERING over here!!! God Bless this town for their stand!!! The only way to beat the devil is to stand firm on Christ- and I pray more will take the same stand as this community!! YAY!! It is totally Constitutional and it’s about time people started reminding others of that.
Thanks Scoop- this made my night!!

It’s time we took a stand, but we need a strategy

“congress shall not law” -This suggest this only applies to schools because the DEA exists. If the feds were not involved in local schools then restrictions on the federal government would not apply to schools. If the local school has nothing to do with the Feds, then nothing that limits the power of congress can be applied to schools free of federal money and oversight.
Abolish the DEA , return power and control back to the state and local school districts.
I also suggest right minded educators create a website with free extensive video tutorials for every subject and every grade so cheap QUALITY lessons can reach every child. School for families could be in session year round and each child could get ahead in their studies if they choose. Imagine 100’s of videos of the same lesson done by different quality teachers. Every child could have each lesson taught to them in different ways insuring their retention of the lesson.
This removes all need for the DEA.

From the Constitutional Freedom Party platform:

The Constitutional Freedom Party values good and well-rounded education as the Founders intended. The Founders valued education and study and believed all children should have a chance to learn and read. While education is important in the upbringing of our children, it is not the role of the federal government to control and administer the education of our nation’s children. Our founding fathers saw the wisdom of instilling core values in our children.

The present educational system is flawed and has redefined values, deemphasized traditional subjects, and emphasized social engineering programs. The federal government meant to guarantee a means for American citizens to have the right to an education; instead, they have taken over education through the Department of Education and have worked closely with organizations such as the National Education Association, empowering unions to ensure poor quality of learning for generations.

We believe in the parents’ choice of education, allowed by the States to decide what forms children take in their learning. We believe in the right to home educate their children without federal restraints. We believe in school choice by vouchers and believe in privatizing education. We will work towards abolishing the Department of Education and returning power to the parents, States, and local governments.

        http://constfreparty.blogspot.com/

Agreed ssenecal5000. The Dept. Of Education’s got to go.
Early education in the country was based on books like the New England Primer and the Blue Back Speller. Those books were taught by some of the Founders- but now they would be considered a crime if used in government schools!

      • TexasPGRRider

Not to get nit-picky, do you mean the Dept of Education? Because the DEA is the Drug Enforcement Administration.

I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s. I was born and raised a Jew. I went to school at a time when not only was their a picture of Jesus in the hall way, but the 10 Commandments were displayed and I have memories of my third grade teacher praying at the start of class.
NOT once. I’ll say it again, NOT once was I offended or felt I was being “forced” to adopt any religion at all. Not once. Children don’t know to be offended, unless and until you tell them they should.
I loved the contrast between the manly woman who objected to the picture of Jesus and the darling little blond gal at the end of the video. What a vile wretched person was the first, and what a sweet honorable one at the end.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Well said badbad. Very well said!! xoxo

  • TitaniumEagle

Oh yes, because having a portrait of Jesus is just so evil, the school simply must be trying to teach the students that Christianity is the only worldview in existence.

I bet this is among the better public school districts.

    • 1endtimes2020

Its no wonder homeschooling is growing so fast.

      • ApplePie101

I know liberals who are homeschooling or finding alternative schools. Even they know how bad the system is.

This same organization put an end to a successful program in Iowa prisons. Those voluntarily entering that program had a very high (in the 80% range) of non-recidivism. That same prison just had a prison riot last year.
Did they take something away and replace it with something else, nope, well, yeah, in a way, their replacement with nothing sucks.

I hope this school wins this one.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

That was Prison Fellowship wasn’t it Ray? I remember hearing about that. Wonder how many conversions there are to islam there now. sigh.

  • 1endtimes2020

What a nerve those stupid atheists have. If they can’t see further than their noses, they should just butt out of other people’s lives.
I’d like to think we can pray for them, but they are the ones that need to do that for themselves. Jesus told His disciples to go and tell others The Good News. If they are not received, move on.
We’ve been putting up with that bunch of incompetents for far too long, and now its time for us to show our love and defend our Saviour.
As for that woman who said the picture of Jesus is against the first amendment, she sure hasn’t read the constitution. It says the government will not impose any religion upon the people. There is no way anyone can interpret that to mean the seaparation of church and state. This is a blatant lie that even the irresponsible media didn’t bother to look up, while they spread that falsehood for years.
Can you imagine the Founding Fathers writing the separation of church and state in the constitution? Of course not. They were true Christians, and not like today with a bunch of cowards who only care about worldly goods for themselves.

    • NCHokie02

exactly. Many states used to have a mandatory tithe. The 1st Amendment restricts the FEDERAL Gov’t. Not the states and certainly not the Church. Most states have something similar to the 1st Amendment in their own State Constitution which would limit the state gov’ts power. People forget or more likely were never taught that the constitutions RESTRICT the gov’t. It doesn’t empower the gov’t.

But as Jesus told the disciples. “They will hate you. But remember when they hate you that they hated me first.” (paraphrasing, forget exactly where it is, I believe in John. could be wrong)

I believe they are communists, alright. The Christian values in the West are under attack. We are definitely at war between good and evil. Obama is not going to hold the Bible at his inauguaration. His wife will. It will probably burn her hand. That’s one way to keep her hands warm. Obama says he’s a Christian. What a liar. He’s a muslim through and through, and just wait until after the inauguration, and see his hidden agendas start to come out.
He’s going to have a fight on his hands this time. Everyone should write to him and the media at every time they stick up their ugly heads with anti-Christ attacks. Don’t forget to write to your representatives too. JDI –Just Do It.

      • TexasPGRRider

I`ve not read it myself, but believe there is a quote in one of BO`s books [I understand Bill Ayers may have ghost written for him]: “if it comes to it, I will side with islam”.

        • aposematic

Doesn’t what has happened in the ME by allowing, supporting, and financing, with America’s debt, the Muslim Brotherhood (the father org. of terrorism) to take the ME over prove Obuma “came to it” way before his first election?

        • 1endtimes2020

It’s good for you to pass that on. Here’s another example; Before Obama would speak to the student body at Georgetown and Notre Dame universities in 2009, the universities had to cover Christian crosses, pictures, etc.
I would have told Obama “Sorry, but anything you would have to say would, obviously, not be of any benefit to our students”

          • Nukeman60

I’m so glad someone remembers that. I was so outraged at the time and there was little to no resistance to it.

            http://hotair.com/archives/2009/04/16/christian-symbol-covered-up-during-obamas-georgetown-speech/

            http://cnsnews.com/news/article/georgetown-says-it-covered-over-name-jesus-comply-white-house-request-0

There was absolutely no real reason it should have been covered up. One does wonder whether he would have demanded the same for an Islamic symbol. My guess is he would not.

They should have held the speech in another building, if the symbols of Christianity interfered too much with their agenda.

            • 1endtimes2020

He had the muslim brotherhood for dinner at the White House. He gave 2 billion to Egypt’s new leader, Marsi, while he wants to tax high income EARNERS for their efforts to wealth, to pay their fair share. What was fair about transferring tax payer money to our enemy leading Egypt, that allows the murder of Christians every week?Would a Christian President do that? Now he wants his wife to hold the Bible at his inauguration. The ACLU , Anti-Christian Leftist Union won’t criticize any of these things. Just ignore that money making business, that thrives on bold statements to please their stupid followers.

There once was a non-christian student – and although he was very intelligent – got LOW grades in his public school

After switching from the sixth PUBLIC school with BAD GRADES –

His parents decided to place him in a school run by The Sisters of St. Mary

    **********************************

The first semester in the Parochial school – he came home with straight “A”s

His parent were so proud and asked why he didn’t perform this well in the other schools

    He said –

“In the front of the room – on my first day –

I saw a wooden Cross with someone nailed to the Cross wearing a Crown of Thorns

    I asked no questions –

BUT I figured that these Teachers were really, really serious

    So I studied very hard”

I heard a minister say recently that if Christians had been acting like real Christians, the world would not be in the state it is in. I could write a long list of examples including everything from people not taking care of their physical health to watching sports events where illicit and immoral behavior by players is supported.

Your Bible quote describes what is going on perfectly.

      • maybetoday777

Well he has got it wrong as usual. If ministers, pastors were doing their jobs properly Christians wouldn’t be acting the way they do since it was the religious leaders of our day who dumped the WORDS that God spoke for their dark age bibles (vaticanus and sinaiticus). And, yes if Christians were actually reading the King James Bible then they wouldn’t let these pastors and religious leaders get away with what they are teaching. Modern day preachers are false prophets from Samaria (Jer 23 the whole chapter is on false prophets and rotten pastors scattering the sheep) who couldn’t talk straight if you put a bit and bridle in their mouth. Then again, if any man speaks not according to this word, there is no light in him.

Good for them. This is a perfect example of what Edmund Burke once said:

“Evil prevails when good men do nothing.”

I like how the school superintendent gave the actual law where the picture is allowed.

  • BikerHoop

The Constitution says “freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

    • ApplePie101

Actually the constitution says neither. The text of the first amendment:
‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.’

There are those ‘negative liberties’ Obama complains about, always telling the government what it can’t do.

      • 1endtimes2020

That quote of the first ammendment should be copied and distributed everywhere. Thanks for posting it. The Founding Fathers would thank you as well.

      • BikerHoop

You’re absolutely right. I stand corrected. Sometimes after hearing something for so long it rings true even if it isn’t. Shame on me for not checking my Constitution before opening my mouth.

        • ApplePie101

Thanks for taking it so graciously! I didn’t intend a rebuke. I knew what you meant, but I like to remind people that the constitution was designed to be a cage for government.

‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.’

The first amendment restricts congress. Congress may not make a law forcing schools to display a picture of Jesus, Mohamed, or anything else. A state public school may display whatever it likes. The hate group ‘Freedom From Religion Foundation’ needs to read the constitution and stop persecuting Christians.

    • 1endtimes2020

The moral of our story is ‘don’t mess with Big Bear.’ My action is communicating with others. I don’t march, fly flags etc. I have over 500 likes on TRS, but I write to people in power, the media, and deliver pamphlets to malls and churches. I’m slowing down quite a bit though. I’ll be 77 this year, and I can only do what I can when occasions present themselves. I’m the only one in my family, relatives and friends that does what I do, but as a single person I have time on my hands, while the others have big responsibilities to fulfill. Thankfully, they are good Christians and are conservative-minded. I appreciate what you do. I also am so pleased to be part of TRS and see so many wonderful people expressing themselves so eloquently, knowing they would not have the same opportunity with newspapers. Thank God for the internet.
I believe end times are on the way, but I also believe Christianity and the church and Jesus will prevail. Jesus said so, and He even told us not to be full of anxiety but to rejoice.
One day, in Heaven, we’ll be able to look back at this very short time on earth as a minor blip. An important blip, mind you, but an average of 85 years of life cannot compare to the trillions of eternal years of happiness with God.
Take, care, keep up the good work, and God bless you and everyone on TRS and especially the creator of the site.

              • Biggbear52

Thank you for being diligent in your efforts and being part of the generation that has given us younger generation so much. There is a generation. Maybe two now, that haven’t a clue on how to be thankful. I personally find that not only scary but exceptionally sad. It is not a matter of messing with me or not. It is a matter of this box creates a lot very mouthy souls by way of false security. The problem here is that I misread your earlier statement, thus I am in err, not you. Now you name me 1 person you know under the age of 35 that is willing to make that claim. By your claim you are my elder brother in Christ and have me full respect as that is what me Lord and savior asks of me. I am also quite passionate in my opinion as to what should, or should not occur in our land that WE THE PEOPLE built. Not the Government. Most certainly not this lie of human flesh claiming kingship we have now. I agree with you on every point you make. Remember in our studies the Lord tells us that we shall be persecuted in his name. Part of that scripture elude to telling/ motivating people who are closest to us to pitch in, even if they do not care to hear!. My son’s, one on either end, are spending all they’re time in self-indulgence. I have attempted to show them that things are not exactly as they appear to no avail. So finally I had to step back and allow nature/ GOD to take his course. It may take another 20 to 30 years for these boys to figure out that nature/ GOD has utter control, not them. The elder is 25 and the younger is 22. So I can only pray that they learn a whole lot quicker than I did that the one is in fact more important than the many. Because the one is whom starts change. Then and only then does it become many. As to the end of times, we will not know when that time is as he has taught us in his words. So as to that time being close. I personally do not know. However I do know this. That when that time comes it will most assuredly be far worse than we mere humans can possibly imagine. God Bless big brother!

                • 1endtimes2020

Thanks for your explanation. I hope you realize when I said “Don’t mess with Big Bear” that it was said in humor. Humor is important in everything we do. We are made in the image of God, so our sense of humor also comes from Him. Humor also makes serotonin in the brain and is very health. The heart fills with joy. Humor helps to keep things in perspective also.
Humor can also be used to advance evil. I think of the difference between the comedy TV shows of the past and the ones we have today.
In the past, humor was not used to indoctrinate the minds of people to accept someone’s propaganda agenda. Today, a viewer can expect to hear ‘a message’ at some point in the show. When I see that happening, I make a point of not watching the show anymore, because I don’t want to be part of a ‘support’ audience. I have had people say to me, “I ignore the bad part and only like the funny parts”, and they don’t seem to care that, by watching the show, they are ‘counted’ in to a total ‘support’ to present to advertisers.
As for your two sons, this is a situation that is prevalent in our society. I know of a family who were Christians, but the father would criticize the church for one reason or another. Only one of the four children grew up still going to church and behaving like Christ was part of a daily life. The others will probably come around when some crisis hits them and they realize they can only turn to Gpd for help. I remember how the churches were full after the World Trade Centre buildings came down, for about one month. Then, after that time, churches were back to normal attendance. Experts say there is every chance New York will be attacked again. I wonder if that attack will leave anyone left to go to church.
Our movies and television shows are constantly working on the minds of people. It would be best if we could all choose just the channels we want, and not have to pay for a cable company’s ‘bundles’.

As for when the end times will arrive, whenever it has and passed, there will be people who have a 20-20 vision of how it came about, I’m sure. The very best thing we can do is to obey God’s commandments, including the sabbath, and pray for help, such as for your two sons to see the Light of the world. No one can take that away from us. Prayer is very powerful, as you know. God bless you and your family.

I have been quite angry lately. Mostly I think because I have been paying to much attention to the bull crud that be in the news that generally filled with nothing but reprobate nonsense. So that may be wearing off on me as of late. Though I pray not. I too am a firm believer of good humor. In most part is no longer exists. However there some good comedian’s out there that do not use vulgarity to make a living. Terry fader come to mind. The wife and I have been looking up “clean comics” over the past few days and surprisingly there are quite a few. I personally miss the likes of Shcky Green, Don Rickles, Clarabelle and so on. Another one of my favorites to this day is Bill Cosby. One of the funniest guys alive. But his brand of humor is not viable in a reprobate society, sad! Anyway big brother thanks for the lift, much needed lately. God Bless Bubba!By the way my name is Bob! J

All it takes is a strong, faithful leader to say, “No.” All it takes is a community to say, “No.” All it takes is someone to say that the “demands” that aetheists are making are baseless and ridiculous.

Just because 1 in a thousand or a million is “offended”? Seriously? I’m offended by many things in this world every day but I don’t go out and start a lawsuit over it. I don’t join some group that focuses exclusively on depriving millions of their rights. I didn’t go cry to the media about how persecuted I am… I didn’t let my lawyer speak for me.

I get up, deal with the offensive things and move on with life. The things that Aetheists go after (like a cross in the desert, erected by veterans to honor our fallen – that’s been there for 100 years) are so petty and stupid. Their agenda isn’t to make their lives better… it’s specifically to adversely affect the lives of people who love their religion and have the freedom to practice it. Aetheists keep picking at these things, hoping to strip another right and freedom from law-abiding citizens.

Aetheists are agitators… not problem-solvers. They are the MOST intolerant people in this country. Go to some 3rd world country where the “offensive” Christian portraits, etc. aren’t posted or available to be seen in public… see how happy you are there (where you aren’t “oppressed”).

This country was founded on Christian values and beliefs – period. It is in great part because of these beliefs and the faith of our forefathers that this nation has not only survived but thrived. We have been greatly blessed by God. To try and strip that out of our DNA is like trying to separate oxygen and hydrogen from water – you can’t do it without destroying the water. But that was your goal along, wasn’t it?

    • 1endtimes2020

      Wonderfully written.

    • Kordane

Quote: “This country was founded on Christian values and beliefs – period

If it was then it would be a theocracy, not a constitutional republic.

The founding fathers were more like deists, rather than ardent Christians. Thomas Jefferson even re-wrote the Bible, taking all the mumbo jumbo unrealistic stuff out of it.

“The right to the pursuit of happiness”? How is that consistent with Christian ethics? Christian ethics would reject that right, because it’s selfish and therefore evil. How do you rectify the good Samaritan with a right to pursue happiness? How do you rectify all of Christianity’s altruism with a right to basically be selfish?

Sure, the founding fathers were religious people. It was the norm for the time, but the founding fathers weren’t implementing a country based on Christian texts. The founding fathers knew that theocracies are very bad/evil systems of government, and that what America had to be was a constitutional republic where individuals had rights that trumped whatever ANY religion said (among other things).

It may be argued that America is a lot more religious than America was at the time of the founding fathers. There is a strong movement to co-opt the founding fathers not as founders of a constitutional republic where individuals have individual rights – but instead as founders of a theocracy where the bible (not the declaration of independence and constitution) defines what freedom the individual has.

The declaration said “endowed by our creator”, it did NOT say “endowed by God”. Get it straight, religious people. A creator can be anything. It can be a God, it can be nature, it can be reality, and countless other things. Note that when you say “our rights come from God”, that you are saying something contrary to what the founding fathers said.

      • http://tinyurl.com/wwsotu Wolfie

If you want me and others to take your posts regarding religion seriously then you need to cut out stuff like this: “Thomas Jefferson even re-wrote the Bible, taking all the mumbo jumbo unrealistic stuff out of it.” I mean “mumbo jumbo” When you reference our faith and our Bible in that manner you isolate and discredit your position… And I’m being very diplomatic… As I’ve grown to be… 20 year old me would have tried to burn you alive! – I wonder if you’ll see the humor in that at all?

I will continue to read your posts, because they often make me think and challenge ideas.. But please, even if you disagree with a religious point or religion at all, at least respect the adherents and their faith and don’t dismiss it as “mumbo jumbo”

Remember nobody here is trying to force religion upon you…. So why do you attack those of us who have faith? Cant’ you have a “live and let live” attitude like I do?

        • Kordane

The way that some people talk about Atheism on here doesn’t exactly compel me to want to talk respectfully about religion. Either way, “mumbo jumbo” is in the dictionary and it more or less describes what Jefferson removed from the Bible.

      • Sober_Thinking

I understand the overarching point you are trying to make and a sub point or two is legitimate.

I disagree with your conclusions though. In fact, it kinda came off as a bit offensive. Let’s agree to disagree and leave it there shall we?

        • Kordane

Your disagreement is irrelevant. Only logical counter-arguments have any value.

          • Sober_Thinking

Dude… you’ve always been a borderline contributor… now you want to come off like this? What are you, the borg?

You will quickly become irrelevant if you want to respond in this manner.

            You’re off my Christmas list.

            • Kordane

I don’t care whether people agree, disagree, or agree to disagree. I only care about their reason(s), because otherwise I’m left with the nagging question of “why?”, and I would hate to have to speculate.

              • Sober_Thinking

That makes sense… people should be able to support their position.

My only contention is the way you respond… “nonsense” “Your disagreement is irrelevent.” Seems a little robotic and cold. I’ll leave it at that.

    • TexasPGRRider

      Well Spoken sober!!!

It’s good to see this happening. The people here in Cranston, RI made a similar stand, but the courts shot them down in favor of the ACLU. One kid complanined and down came the prayer banner by court oreder.

    • sDee

They will come after them. Holder and the ACLU will darken the skies of with planeloads of lawyers and proscecuters. They will bankrupt the school system, and strong-arm, threaten and blackmail the school board members and their families.

whats kind of funny is that I guarantee it is a picture of the blue eyed Catholic “Jesus” like the ones my grandparents had in their home as kid. Which, of course, is not a picture of the real Jesus or anything like him since He was white and ruddy and hair like a raven with dark brown eyes as found in the Scriptures.

Furthermore, the Holy Spirit told you people exactly what He thought of your pictures and the pictures of the heathen in the land of Egypt. Numbers 33:52: “Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their PICTURES, and destroy all their molten IMAGES, and quite pluck down all their high places:

This word “pictures” is removed from ALL modern “bibles” except a King James 1611. Of course, Israel did not do what God told them to do so God made them pay for it by bloody murder.

Then in Ezekiel 8:7-12: And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. (A hole in the wall where they watch their “pictures and imagery” and watch abominations)

8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about. (So this hole in the wall had IDOLS and IMAGES and was ABOMINABLE)

11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth. (watching tv via in the CHAMBERS OF HIS IMAGERY).

There is literally hell to pay for watching tv. I could go on and on and explain more about the light of the eye and how the first sin on the face of this earth was committed by a woman (Eve) looking at something she should NOT have been looking at (tree of knowledge of good and evil) and then coveting it. Tick tock tick tock world.

He that is of God heareth God’s words, ye therefore hear them not because ye are not of God. May God help you make the right decision now.

    • Rshill7

“…since He was white and ruddy and hair like a raven with dark brown eyes as found in the Scriptures.’ (maybetoday)

      Show us that scripture please.

      Also, are you Jewish?

Christians live under the New Covenant. Christ fulfilled the law.

I am not sure of what you are trying to get across here. Can you help me?

    • sjmom

I understand what you’re saying but can you at least rejoice God’s people are finally taking a stand against the forces of darkness which have assaulted our society? I have no doubt Heaven was pleased to hear of their stand for our Savior and Lord. To God be the glory, the honor and praise forever and ever. Amen.

    • Watchman74

I don’t recall any physical descriptions of Jesus other than Isaiah 53:2 which describes him as an ordinary man, of no beauty or majesty. More than likely he had dark eyes and hair since he was Jewish.

Number 33:52 is talking about idols. The word “pictures” is not necessarily the best translation of the word. The KJV also mentions unicorns.

As far as the tree of good and evil, Gen 2:9 does say every tree was pleasant to the sight. It wasn’t a sin to look at it, just not to eat it. Tho I do agree with you that Satan often uses visual imagery to tempt us.

Anyways the picture of Jesus is not that big of a deal to me, as long as there not worshiping it. It’s good to see these people not to kowtow to a minority group just because they hate religion.

  • sjmom

Praise God for the people of this town who have taken a stand for God and for our Constitution. It’s time to fight the good fight and push back the forces of darkness which have assaulted our nation from every side.

  • tinker_thinker

  • RKflorida

I understand the sentiment, but that is not a picture of Jesus. No one knows what he looks like and pictures become idols or icons. But these decent folks have their hearts in the right place and are speaking for Jesus.

    • http://tinyurl.com/wwsotu Wolfie

To be fair… The image of Jesus is no where as important as the Man! That some artists tried to capture His image in paintings and drawings.. Where’s the problem? It’s not like they were trying to convince us “Jesus sat for my painting/drawing” now is it?

The Freedom from Religion Foundation is not obligated to look at the picture of Jesus. If the school demanded that all students, who pass the picture, bow down and kiss the floor in front of the picture, then they might have a legitimate case. The government is not forcing a religion on anyone by having statues, pictures or the Ten Commandments displayed anywhere.

The Constitution guarantees a freedom of religion and when the atheists demand removal of anything dealing with religion, they themselves are promoting the violation of that law.

Every time someone stands up to these people, another crack appears in their dike. More and more, one step after another, it will be shown that the dam is about to break on the attempt to eradicate Christianity from our lives.

    • 1endtimes2020

It’s just like so called gun control. The mayor of Boston, and that cocaine user Cuomo, think they can tell everyone else what to do. Secession is going to be the only answer. I’m sick of living with these,……I better not say it, anymore. They’re thieves and ingrates. The Democrats are degenerates and sleazy communists.
