Oklahoma Cowboy Marcus Smart vs the Superfan: Which is more outrageous?

I’m sure most of you have heard by now about Oklahoma Cowboy Marcus Smart shoving an opposing fan at a game against Texas Tech. The 53-year-old fan called Smart a piece of crap and Smart got up and shoved the guy. For some reason, though, the referees didn’t eject him. But Smart did apologize and has been suspended for 3 games.

That’s basically the story. At first it was reported that the ‘N’ word was used, however after an investigation that was proved incorrect. A camera caught the vocal exchange and you can clearly hear ‘piece of crap’ being shouted.

So why am I blogging about this? Well Greta ran it on her show tonight to my amazement she was more upset about what the so-called ‘superfan’ did than she was about what the player did. I mean, it’s basketball and some people take this very seriously and get very passionate. If he had used the ‘N’ word I might be more sympathetic to the player. But he didn’t. He just called the guy a ‘piece of crap’. I mean, kinda lame don’t you think? But apparently he ‘crossed the line’ or something.

Put simply, I just don’t understand the outrage at the fan on this one.

Watch the debate on Greta’s segment and tell me what you think:
