FULL SPEECH: Sarah Palin at the Iowa Tea Party Rally

Sarah Palin gave a masterful speech today in Iowa, going after everyone from the President and the Democrats to the Republican establishment. It was a perfect speech for me, especially given that I just watched her new film last night, Palin: Undefeated, and I highly recommend it. She is the real deal and is setting herself up to be the one who will fight for the people and oppose the cronyism that regularly inhabits Washington DC, as she has done it in her on state of Alaska.

I do think she is running and have never been more sure of it than I am now. Enjoy the speech via C4P:

Sarah needs a voice coach..I agree, but thankfully not a thought coach.

        • S

Well if she goes down that route she is in good company.Mrs Thatcher also needed a voice coach. And while Mrs Thatcher’s perfomances in parliament started off lacklustre ,she ended up being one of the most formidable members who ever entered.

Besides it’s her message I care about most, and her presentation while of lesser importance , her looks and charisma in my opinion make her a cut above the rest.

          • Anonymous

Yep! Who could forget her NO!NO! NO! They have no competence on money:

          • B-Funk

“Besides it’s her message I care about most”. Absolutely! I would vote for a Prez a thousand times who looks and sounds like Yoda, but holds principles that return America to freedom and responsibility. Like you said, presentation is important, but ultimately it’s not what matters most.

          • Anonymous

I agree with you completely. She is the real deal. What matter is it about how the message sounds when charisma and what is said is more important

        • Anonymous

I rather like her voice; down to earth and not fake!

        • Anonymous

She doesn’t listen to anyone not even herself or she would have taken care of her shrill voice long ago.

          • Anonymous

chris1616, My take is strictly from the standpoint of marketing/”packaging”. What presidential candidates in the last 60+ years have not been packaged and had “handlers” and high paid image driven advertising with perfected image shaping? There’s Obama’s “authoritative’ and “soaring” bla bla bla. Nixon supposedly lost that famous and critical tv debate to Kennedy due to his five o’clock shadow and perspiration (people responded to Nixon instead of his message). Clinton had a very smooooth delivery (“ah feel yer pain”) and puppy dog eyes! G.W. Bush was bashed without mercy because of his personal style. The message is primarily the message but fine tuning the medium (the disseminator of the message) is also important. You won’t find a more enthusiastic fan of Sarah Palin than me.

The voting dimwits who still don’t know her message will be staring vacantly at her when and if she will be on the campaign trail. They will be hearing and judging instead of LISTENING and judging. In closing; She can talk in my ear any time…I’ll be LISTENING enthusiastcally.

            • Anonymous

What happen to Kris Perry, Stapleton and Mansour? Do you consider her books, cable show about Alaska, gig on Fox and a movie that bombed attempts at “packaging”. Sara is successful, just look at her donations on her pac sites.
              Run, sara, run.

My comment specifically focused on campaign management, not anything pre-campaign. A party’s candidate has a campaign manager, speech writers, strategy advisors, fund raising manager, policy advisers, speech coach, debate coach, media and graphics advisers and personal charisma coach including fashion advisers. Even candidate’s spouses are advised!!!

I’m done with this topic, thanks.

      • Garym

I could give a sh!t about her voice. what she says and stands for is all that matters to me.

      • Her voice gets on my nerves when she’s having to speak loud (shouting), as does Michelle Bachman’s and even shrillary. But when she’s speaking in normal tones, it’s not near as bad, and the mix of her common sense and down to earth real talk is the best part of her 🙂

  • First time I’ve heard someone echo my sentiments. Corporations do not pay taxes, therefore, eliminate corporate welfare, and eliminate corporate income taxes.

Yet, go read Ace of Spades, & the comments there. If that is a conservative web site, then we the people have a long ways to go. How could such closed-mindedness & hate toward Palin be called conservativism?

      • Sarah Palin could part the Red Sea, erase the national debt and reverse employment all in one afternoon and Ace would ask what took her so long. I don’t go there often and there’s a reason.

      • Garym

Boggles the mind, doesn’t it? Hot Air is becoming the same as AoS the site is becoming unreadable when Palin is involved.

My hunch is, based on the vacuous and baseless nature of the sophmoric comments, they are in large part generated by the net version of ‘seminar callers’. They certainly seem to be reading off the same “talking points for idiots” page.

          • Garym

I’ve met people, who for some reason, are embarrassed to admitt that they like or support Palin. After you break the ice with them, they usually open up about thier support. The Posters over at AoS are pretty much the same childish posters that LGf used to have and they feed off of each other in stupidity. Hot Air is more of a puzzle because of its closed comment system. You would think you could get some good pro/con arguments, but Palin threads (and Perry to a smaller extent) turn into childish bitchfests.
I know its only primary season, but if we all don’t come together and just argue pros and cons without all the namecalling, we will see another 4 years of Obama.

            • Anonymous

You hit the nail on the head. I have been SO disappointed by the behavior of AoS and other “conservative” sites. LGF? LOL laughable at best. Charles went off the deep end somewhere during the Obama campaign and has not recovered.

It’s been a while since I’ve visted HA… Allah Pundit never really impressed me, a lot of hot air IMHO. Something just smacked of establishment GOP… a real turn off. I often wondered why Michell Malkin jumped ship on them, although she apparently still has ties.

          • Garym

Allah Pundit is just a northeast repubublican, I personally think he could care less about the establishment, all he wants is the hits to the website. Sarah Palin is gold to him.Northeast republicans, with all due respect, don’t understand us out here in flyover country. We hate it when our freedoms are eroded, but they live mostly in areas that are over taxed and over regulated, so they don’t notice the erosion to the extent that we do.

      • Anonymous

I lost ALL respect for Ace during the South Carolina Governor’s race. Ace wrote that he believed the rumors that Nikki Haley had an affair since there were *two* guys making that claim. Never mind that the first guy was a total freak that no woman in her right mind would ever sleep with and that the second guy worked for her opponent and probably had never had sex with a *woman* in his life. Ace bought into the lies hook, line and sinker.

Ace doesn’t like women running for office. He doesn’t like Nikki Haley, Christine O’Donnell, Sharon Angle, Michelle Bachmann, or Sarah Palin. Ace and his buddies are in full-on “humping Rick Perry’s leg” mode. Don’t expect anything positive from Ace in regard to Palin – ever.

  • The biggest bombshell out of that campaign speech was the elimination of all federal corporate taxes balanced by the elimination of all corporate welfare (subsidies, grants, tax breaks, etc.)
Now, that is a massive shift.
She is right… the power would shift to the States by doing that and it would eliminate all the back room dealing in Washington AND $BILLIONS of wasted tax dollars.

She is such a tease! Used very suggestive language in parts of her speech I thought. Iam beginning to think the language suggested she might run as a third party candidate as she seems profoundly negative about the whole political system up in washington. But that to me would be extremely risky if she hopes to become president and there is also the fact it may well give Obama another term. The republican party machine ,while it hasn’t done her many favours, it has the resources and experience to win an election. The question is, will she want their help if she believes they are part of the problem and can she trust them ? I agree with her by the way.

My opinion is, electing a moderate republican or one of these plastic conservatives isn’t going to be any better than Obama. They are all in bed with each other and the corporations. To me sarah is the only one I think has backbone to take them on . As she said ‘she can’t be bought’. I think if she feels the republican party has not future, it will not bring the change america needs, perhaps she needs to go independent and if she loses,go down fighting.

    • Anonymous

Take her at her word, she will not go third party. Heck, she will win the republican primary and even primary obama! What does she need a third party for?

    • David Robertson

She will run. Think about what she is doing. Once she announces, all kinds of financing rules come in to play. She is trying to build up a war chest through her tour, speeches, and sarahpac so that she can be self-reliant vs. depending on the Republican establishment to back her with their bundled funding groups–that always come with strings.

This isn’t hard to figure out if you think about it. For those of you who would like to participate in the political process this year and support her, you can use this link to donate:

If Sarah declares her candidacy and is conspired out (a la Rino and NWO operatives) of the opportunity to be a Tea Party candidate it’s hard to imagine any other option that she would settle for. After being rogue for so long now, how would accepting VP sit with her base? In spite of the fact that I would always want to support her, going third party would not be a good move. It looks like it’s got to be for ALL the MARBLES…and she’s got those!!..and I want her to share those with AMERICA.

    • Anonymous

SHE wants O defeated as badly as the GOP. If she doesn’t win the Republican Party than she’ll be instrumental in getting more like minded people like herself in the House & Senate.

    RS– thanks for providing this.

  • I read Ace and some of the comments there before I listened to the speech. Then I listened carefully to the speech, and at the same time paid attention to the CSpan visuals. I believe what Ace and a great many others are overlooking is that Sarah speaks to the heart of the folks who have truly been disenfranchised by, as she calls them, “the permanent political class”, in language anyone can understand. And while Ace may be right in his observation that she is not really offering anything new and is saying a lot of the same things as the other candidates, isn’t the question really who among all of the candidates, including Obama, would you trust to look out for the interests of us everyday Americans. After all, the solutions to our problems are pretty obvious, it’s just finding an individual who will implement those changes and not sell us out for their own enrichment. Among the current lot, that person for me is Sarah Palin.

  • Ace is a Perry supporter and seems to have hiself in a bit of a twist as Perry is getting vetted and its not looking very good for him. Sarah had alot to say and alot of it was different and some was the same, but all that means is that she is sticking by her word and her word is good. To say that she cannot be bought and to talk of what she will do to bring Americas buisnesses back through dropping the corporate tax well there you go. A fantastic speech and done with no slipups whatsoever!!!

    • Perry supporters are going to be in for a shock when they realize Democrats and their allies in entertainment and newsmedia are going to do to Rick in one election cycle what Sarah has endured for three years. There’s a reason Rick didn’t go national four, six, or eight years ago – he’s not ready (and may never be) for national politics.

What do you call the last 3 years. She has handled more criticism than anyone in the history of this country, and you know it.

  • She is a much better American and speaker than Barrack Obama could even hope to be! She has my continued support whether she runs for president or not!

Thanks RS, great speech of a great American woman. and thanks for removing the troll, too !!

  • Anonymous

Definitely Reaganesq! She embodies Reagan’s gift of communicating as a common person to the common person. Her plan is sound.

  • I have to go out on a limb here and give some advice which will never be listented to. She needs to speak from every natural disaster/unemployment disaster/economic disaster and fly there (drive there or whatever) and speak to the people. It will speak to American suffering all the while the POTUS is staying away. It’s like jumping into spots where POTUS should speak and pre-empting with real grass-roots support. Opportunities missed so far, but there may be more, and she needs to present herself as a soldier of America and willing to stand up for them no matter the personal risk or cost.

Sarah, can win . I want to see Rino heads explode!

Palin can win, I hope she runs. Rinos heads explode.

  • RS, will you have her New Hampshire speech posted on here?

  • Anonymous

Palin, can win. However if she does all Liberals may move to Canada. I do not like that we already have to many.

  • S

Does anyone else think her plans to end corporate income tax but also end corporate welfare really out dems obama while still remaining true to conservative free market ideas? I personally think it is a really sound idea. Obama is the one talking about raiding social security, the military and the elderly. She knows how hard up people are right now. She also knows people are angry at not just the dems and obama but both parties, who they feel care more about corporations than them. So she is talking about putting corporations on a level playing field with everyone else.If they sink they sink.

She comes across as caring about the poor ,as saving social security, unlike Obama and wanting to go after the corporations and the corruption within the government.Because she knows where the public anger lies. This is what she means by speaking direct to the people . No doubt many of the republican party wouldn’t go after corporations and would put their needs above the people . She is basically anknowledging that it is all parties ,Obama isn’t the main problem. This isn’t even left vs right anymore. She is speaking to the moderates and the disaffected democrats. She wants to bring real change far more radical than Obama.About a week ago I posted on here saying people would get a shock that she isn’t the fringe right person the media has painted.Don’t get me wrong she is a conservative, but she also isn’t afraid to take on her own side.Remember her time in alaska? She may well now draw lots of criticism from fox news as well, especially when she enters the race . Supporters must be prepared for that.

I was reading comments on huffington post on this speech , and as usual there were the usual deranged comments about her but amongst that someone there while calling her a ‘fascist’ said the above seriously undermines Obama.

Sarah Palin’s speech to the Iowa Tea Party
Posted on September 3, 2011 by RD

In what appeared to be a major outline of her policies, Sarah Palin dropped a HUGE bombshell on the current Republican field of candidates. She proposed an elimination of ALL corporate taxes, thereby removing all corporate incentives to cozy up to politicians.

Such a policy has never been proposed before but is a very simple, common-sense approach to defusing and eliminating crony-capitalism. Remove the incentive for lobbying for special tax breaks and you remove a corporations investment in those efforts.

Sarah went on to say that corporations should also be forced to live or die by their decisions without any government intervention whatsoever. I couldn’t agree more. I talked about Steve Job’s contribution on The Roderic Deane Show last week and the fact that his failures helped pave the way for his successes. This is the free-market at work.

Sarah’s speech is going to have a profound impact on the current Republican candidates. It will be VERY interesting to see if any of them attempt to co-opt her ideas. She needs to enter the presidential sweepstakes to bring her revolutionary and common-sense ideas to the forefront. For now, she’ll have to rely on her supporters in the blogosphere to get the word out.

I truly believe that this speech will become Sarah Palin’s “A Time For Choosing”.

  • Sarah Palin is so bright and well spoken. No teleprompters and “uhs” but cogent ideas expressed with passion. This beautiful, bright woman shows real leadership and will some day be a great president of our wonderful nation. No matter what Republican runs this year, we must support that person to get rid of the disaster known as Barack Hussein Obama (Barry Sorento).

  • I stopped watching Fox news. Sarah Palin is the only ticket for me. This page is my main source of news because I’m so sick of all the communist garbage. Palin is good!!

I hate to burst everyone’s bubble here regarding Sarah Palin’s awesomeness, but let’s PLEASE give credit where credit is due. Gary Johnson, who is running for president though gets no media exposure whatsoever, has repeatedly said he is in favor of eliminating corporate taxes and eliminating corporate welfare. This is not Sarah Palin’s idea:

    http://garyjohnsongrassrootsblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/gary-johnson-on-issues-economy-and.html

I’ve heard and read about this proposal many, many times before. It is a very libertarian idea, which has been discussed by many economists and libertarian pundits on shows like Stossel and Judge Napolitano’s Freedom Watch.

I’m glad she agrees with it, but she’s not the brilliant person who thought of it. SP is not my candidate of choice right now (neither is Gary Johnson), though I have a high regard for both of them. All of the GOP candidates (except Huntsman) would do an “about face” and get this country back on the right track. It’s a matter of picking the one who can actually win the general election. Sarah’s numbers in the polls are just too far out to suggest she can, but I’m remaining open-minded about her and will definitely support her if she succeeds.

HINT: The way to get support for a candidate is to build up the candidate. NOT to denigrate another candidate

And for the record, it is the candidate’s responsibility to get himself media attention. It is not anyone else’s responsibility.

And are you seriously saying with a straight face that Palin’s poll #s are “too far out” without mentioning Johnson’s poll #s????

Clearly, you didn’t even bother to listen to Palin’s speech. In which she stated that “poles are for strippers and cross-country skiers” …

To conclude: I don’t think you burst anyone’s, let alone “everyone’s bubble here regarding” Sarah Palin.

I expected a response like this. I’m not advocating for Gary Johnson (as I CLEARLY SAID in my last paragraph). I’m also not denigrating Sarah Palin (as I CLEARLY SAID in my last paragraph). I’m just saying to call Sarah brilliant for coming up with this great idea of eliminating the corporate tax AND corporate welfare is very uninformed.

I watched The Undefeated last night on PPV and that only reinforced my opinion of the speech. She can do much better than that. But it’s really not her delivery or what she was wearing or the Mickey Mouse venue. It’s her words.

Does she really believe that we all, us, the Individual, don’t need a leader? Does she really think she can inspire people to work towards a goal she thinks we all share without a leader like her to lead us?

If that’s what she thinks she’s wrong. People just aren’t like that. I’m not sure she knows that.

As far as the other comments about Ace and his review of the speech, I agree with every word he wrote. She’s got to stop jerking people around. I don’t care what “brilliant strategy” people think she has, she needs to sh*t or get off the pot. People are looking to her to lead them and if she is not going to step up she needs to step aside. What she’s doing is cruel.

You mean the “cruelty” stuff? It’s nonsensical on its face.

Let’s clarify: you support or you don’t support Palin.

          – If you don’t support her, why would you care?
          – If you mildly support her and can’t wait, just switch to another candidate;
          – If you wholeheartedly support her, you just wait calmly for her announcement.

In any case, take the matter in your own hand and act like an adult. Palin has her own timetable, which is NOT Rove’s or Ace’s timetables (who both hate her anyway).

She’ll declare. Where you will be when she does is your problem, not hers.

I support Sarah Palin for President of The United States. I do not support SarahPac and will not give a dime of my money for someone else to spend.

This is sort of a Duh! idea, I know, but I’m not exactly sure how other Palin supporters can listen to her and still see her as….? I don’t know. I cannot fathom how some of you think. I want her to be president. I really don’t care what she does if she doesn’t run. I hope she has a nice life but I’m not gonna help pay for her political activities if she doesn’t run.

And by the way, if you support Palin for President, you’d better support a GOP Congress victory in 2012 also (which may imply – or not – donating to SarahPac)

You talked about cruelty, not donations. I’ve answered you: you can’t wait? Now that’s too bad: switch to another candidate; these future losers need your support badly.

Thank you for this outline. I’m in the middle of arguing with my FIL about this very issue. He is mad, spitting mad that Palin’s teasing people and putting the country in crisis. She needs to declare now! (stomps his feet).

So, I told him to move on and support whatever fill in the blank he so choses.

The irony being, I told him to watch the Undefeated and read her book, but never did. So, he’s really operating from a point of ignorance. (Oh, his first candidate was Newt)

I won’t coddle people who can’t wait 3 more weeks.

                • Anonymous

                  Hi PhillyCon 😉

Proof that this “dithering” is only media-made and your FIL is brainwashed by them. For the life of me, each of the candidates declared when they wanted, not when Rove or Ace told them to do so.

But Palin has to obey, you see. LOL.

What is transparent to me is this: all this bitchin’ and moanin’ comes from people who are adversary to Palin and feel gutted that she blows their candidate’s strategy away with this waiting. As long as she’s out, she cannot become the main target. Moreover, their candidate is exposed to attacks or, worse, screwing it up in a debate or an interview. Which is what Palin is waiting for, imo. See how Perry or the others debate. Let him lose the “flavor of the month” momentum. Then she’ll enter.

One debate was enough to finish off Pawlenty. How long will it take for Perry?

Palin is right. And Rove and Ace (the same Ace that said in June that “it was too late” for her) know it. That’s why what she’s doing is killing them.

                • Anonymous

I don’t understand why 3 more weeks is such a big deal. She said at the end of Sept., and I take her at her word. It is media brainwashing. I told my FIL, he is watching too much Fox News. I also told him to turn off BOR, its really bad for the brain.

The RINO media has an effect on people, unfortunately. Even smart people are getting sucked in, it seems.

Ace has been against her from the start. Oh, he’s played it like he was being fair, and not making up his mind early and whatever. But I’ve read everything he’s written about her in the last few months, and they are all based on the same theme: Diminish her case.

It’s an ancient ploy, and I can see it being tried once again, with gusto.

It’s pretty easy to use, too. You know the drill, “you and your little friends, and your insignificant blog, all playing around while real people are working.” Ace does that all the time, with high-level writing skills to drive it, but i all boils down to the same thing: Her reasons are always insignificant. Her statements of policy are always “obvious” or “vague.” Her supporters are easily swayed. Her “negatives are high,” and on it goes.

Ace is a smart guy, and I don’t think ill of him for choosing not to support her, but the casual dismissal is old hat. Even when he “Ace-i-fies” it with class-one snark. It’s still the same old disparagement, with no real point other than to take her off the table as a candidate, without seeming to be like all the PDS folks while doing it.

His problem is that the left already fears her more than any other candidate, and hates the thought of her being in the race, so his tepid aspersions are lost on them. On the right, the beltway types will welcome his take, but again, they don’t really want to associate with his style of writing, because it’s R rated. Real America will see Palin talk, and make up there mind based on that.

Ace’s take is kind of lost in the noise. I won’t work. Mostly, because he’s just wrong.

      • Anonymous

I can’t really argue with anything you wrote here except that Ace has “high level writing skills”. Listen, I love AofSPHQ as much as the next person but Ace takes navel gazing to new lows. I like reading his takes on things, but he’s really not a very good writer. It takes a lot of patience to get through an Ace post and then you better wait awhile because chances are very good that he’ll have to come back and correct something he got wrong.

But you’re right. All the Beta Males did the exact same thing with Fred! Thompson back in 2008. There’s not much difference.

No accounting for taste, as they say. But on that last bit, it’s not a “column” it’s a blog entry. A weekly column can be much more carefully crafted, and leaves time for last minute corrections. Bloggers do it almost in real-time. Writers I respect often have terrible entries in blogs and comments. The brave ones don’t bother to edit them.

It’s amazing. When Obama took 4 months to respond to Gen. McChrystal’s troop request, he was cautiously deliberate and being “wise”, before sending our men and women into battle. However, when Gov. Palin contemplates running for POTUS, she’s stringing people along. The lunacy and hypocrisy never ends.
    Wake up, America!!!

    • Anonymous

Bad analogy. Obama and the word “dithering” was all over the place when it came to his long decision. And as you said, that was to commit troops to battle.

Do you really believe Sarah Palin is having this much trouble making up her mind about running for president? Really? If I believed that I’d never be able to support her for president. Indecisive is a kind way to describe that level of mental gymnastics about such a simple decision.

Please for your own sake put down the tube of glue, You don’t have enough money to afford to pay me to support Obama for one minute let alone how long it takes to vote, as for Palin i’ve supported her since day 1 and will continue to do so.

Dithering was initiated by former VP Cheney, NOT the corrupt mainstream media. They went into panic mode, and started talking about how thoughtful, deliberate and introspective Obama was being…..to counter Cheney’s accurate opinion.

Her voice? Good heavens! The woman enunciates; the words are clear. She speaks better than BO.

OK. Her voice get shrill when she gets excited & wants to make a point. I’ll take that along w/her patriotism, her solutions to issues, and her determination…to mention a few.
Sarah Palin is an American…through & through. Good enough for me. If I had a million $$$, I would give it to SarahPac.

The one thing I love about Sarah Palin the most is: With simply one word, she can create the buzz from everywhere more than anyone else will ever do. An amazing woman with many admirable qualities on all aspects. There is no empty suit there at all.

But I can’t help to wonder, why does she have to announce her candidacy when “everyone” else wants her too? It doesn’t bother me at all that she has not stated her candidacy, I think it is having an adverse effect on those who insist she should. She made her mind up a long time ago and for all the right reasons, not an agenda.

    Thank you for posting it.
