That is cool. God bless those guys for doing that.

    • BlueGood

WOW…that was very good of those guys….”Bob the Cat” will be lucky he/she did not suffer a broken leg…hope it survives & thrives….

      I knew a guy who actually had a 90 lb. Cougar, declawed, defanged, as a pet…he also had 2 lynx & a Bobcat….

I had the pleasure of meeting “Naomi” the Cougar…and she was the biggest kitty I ever snuggled….she liked to play too, had a bruise for 3 weeks on my leg from her play….

      No rude comments….please….LOL……Naomi was a gorgeous creature…NOT a middle aged other “Cougar”….

When the City told the guy he had to get rid of them, I offered to house them at my farm which is about 1 hour west of Ottawa…until he got re-located…he sold his house, and moved them out to the country…unfortunately, I did not get to have them as tenants … :o(

      these guys deserve mega kudos!

      • Yes kudos to the guys who rescue the bobcat. But that was seriously DUMB to hang around taking video after they freed him. This is not a Disney movie. It’s a wild animal who was hurt and could have thanked them by slashing them up.

But sorry, BlueGood. I think it’s horrible to keep a wild animal as a pet, no matter how sweet they seem. If you have to defang and declaw something to keep it from seriously injuring or killing you if it gets cross, it’s not a pet.

        • BlueGood

I agree with you Sheer…however, the animal was already domesticated & had her natural protections removed….so I believe Naomi would have to live her life in captivity for survival at all….

I too prefer to see these animals left in the wild… :o) But I tell ya…never will for get snuggling that huge beautiful Kitty creature….

      • Nice story. Thanks. My wife loves big cats and would love to own one or more, but we just can’t. Not here in MA anyway.

  • poor kitteh! Yeah, nice job. Get the kitteh to play with the stick was a smart idea πŸ˜‰

    • unclesamnephew

just received Benghazi part II, your video. very well done. once again i have shared with my few friends

      • Thank you cousin! You rock! πŸ™‚

I did have to upload an edited one, so just to be on the safe side, this is the one you’re passing along right?

The link to the other one won’t work now because I deleted it. πŸ™‚

        • Good job on video. Shared on Facebook and Twitter to spread the message.

        • cabensg

          Amazing video. Well done!

          • Thank you very much! Have you seen part 1? I’m going to be working on part 3 tonight.

          • Spread it as far and wide as you can.. Facebook, blogs, twitter, whatever you use… Spread the word! πŸ™‚

  • bongobear

Fantastic. I hate traps…they are so cruel.

    • oregonproud

As Bongo chows down on a great burger or some fried chicken. Your ignorance is stunning..

      • There is a HUGE difference between hunting and trapping… Don’t get me started.

        • oregonproud

          Really? Please enlighten me.

          • You have GOT to be trolling me. go away.

      • bongobear

I was raised on a farm. We killed chickens by chopping their heads off and we killed hogs by shooting them, hanging them by their hind legs and bleeding them out. We never once used a leg trap to get our meat. I don’t give a damn if you like to trap animals or not but leg traps are cruel.

  • fishmonster

As a strong Second Amendment proponent and gun owner I no longer hunt as God has not given me the “right” to kill his creatures, any of them because they are all precious.

    • Nukeman60

Yep, just save your ‘hunting’ for those polecats in Washington.

    • unclesamnephew

not meant to be mean, but do you eat meat? i go out during hunting season (whitetail) but a lot of times i do not pull the trigger. finding a spot and pulling the trigger are only two components of the hunt.

    • I support hunting because Jesus supporting fishing… Told the Disciples to go fish and ensured they had a record catch. Simple as that for me.

    • Rshill7

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26 NIV)

      • Thanks Rshill7, you said it better than I did.

        • Rshill7

Can’t take credit for that one Wolf. I copied it verbatim πŸ™‚

    • mike morrison

Are you kidding????????????????? Have you read ANY of the levitical passages about what is ok and not ok to eat? If you don’t want to eat meat, that’s fine, but don’t use scripture to judge anyone who does eat meat, because God ABSOLUTELY gave us the right to kill and eat tons of His creatures. They are not all precious, either.

    • Elizabeth

@fishmonster: I just have to ask….if God hasn’t given you the right to kill His creatures, are you saying you’re a vegetarian?

      • fishmonster

No, Elizabeth. I eat fish and chicken and many times I eat green vegetables and wild rice or lentils and wild rice which make a complete protein and are quite good. I haven’t had beef in a number of years and today it doesn’t taste good at all.

        • Elizabeth

Is it that you object to actually doing the killing yourself? If you eat fish and chicken, someone had to kill them in order for you to eat them. I’m just curious, is all.

  • Kelly60

lol…I liked how the other guy just walked back and forth in front of the camera….(that would be me)

  • mikeinidaho

Nice Kitty! Now get outta’ here! Run like the wind.
    Good job, guys!

  • aposematic

Happy the trap apparently did not break the Bobcats leg as when it finally decided to get out of Dodge, it got out of Dodge lickety-split.

    • oregonproud

That (trapping) is known as a “legal harvest”. What these clowns did is theft and would get them arrested if caught.

      • cabensg

Really. A trap set out in the woods is for “legal harvest”. “Legal Harvest” of what? Anything that happens along and gets trapped. My dog was caught in a trap once. Are they legally harvesting dogs. It this done in every state? Was the state this was done in a “legal harvest” state?

        • oregonproud

So what was your dog doing in the woods uncontrolled? That’s a lack of responsibility on your part. I once caught the same dog three days in a row. I finally attached a not to his collar, saying the next time the dog was going to animal control. Then the responsible owner decided to keep him home. Legal harvest is the same as any other use of a renewable resource. If its legal it’s legal. Most states are. Obviously you feel that your “feelings” take presidence over anyone you disagree with. Your hippocracy is astounding..

      • aposematic

Bobcats are legal harvest????????? Don’t most States protect them, they do here where I live…big fine and possible jail time.

  • ryanomaniac

Why risk it. Just bust out the shotgun and end the whole thing. Turn around, go home and drink a hot cup of coffee. Turn on TV and watch reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond.

    • Why risk it? Because it’s the right thing to do? Because some of us couldn’t see that and not help in good conscience. I’d help get that bobcat out, even if it meant getting life scars. I love animals. I’m not against hunting. I just can’t see animals suffer when I’m in a position to help.

      • ryanomaniac

That was kinda cold I know but putting it out of its misery would have been the option I would have taken. We need no stinkin’ Bobcats. Just kidding.

        • It was trapped… if I freed it and it was limping and unable to walk and was sure to die a long painful death… I would agree with you… OH look, nevermind! We both have much bigger fish to fry! πŸ™‚

      • colliemum

        Bravo, Wolfie!

        • I know you would do exactly the same! πŸ™‚

      • oregonproud

Sorry Wolfie, to use your comment, but.. all you carnivores, hunters and fishermen are simply showing the hippocracy that you bitch about the liberals exhibiting every day. You are all repeating the lies of the bunny huggers that is spouted every day. Do what you advocate every day. FACT CHECK ! As a trapper for over 50 years, I know that the HSUS and PETA lies every day. In all my years of trapping, I have never seen the fabled “broken leg or chewed off leg from a properly set trap. My feelings are about trapping are the same as gun ownership. If you don’t like it don’t do it. Ok end of rant.. TB

        • This is a discussion for another day on another thread, ok?

          • oregonproud

Deflection, Wolfie? Last I checked, this was a open thread started about a bobcat. Sorry that I don’t roll over very well.

            • Didn’t ask you to roll over or anywhere. I’m just not getting into this with you now. End of.

        • westernhunter

Thank you oregonproud, couldn’t said it better.

    • aposematic

If the Bobcats leg had been observably broken, the options would have been different. As the ending of the video shows that apparently not the case, I’ll stay with RS’s description of the incident.

    • cabensg

      To each his own.

  • Landscaper

Do not try this at home. Or at least in summer with shorts on.

  • If this bobcat attacked my livestock I would have to kill it. If it only focused on the deer or wild turkeys that would be fine with me.

    • cabensg

Bobcats are small they go for small game. Really small is their usual fare, mice, rats, chipmunks, squirrels etc. Cougars are the sometimes livestock killers. Easier meal than the usual hunt.

      • There are alot of goats in my area and they fit in that small game.

  • That was a thing of beauty to watch! Poor little Kitty.. So lucky to have two good guys come by and rescue him. These kind of guys and their efforts to free the cat give me hope for humanity… Thanks Scoop for posting this, you’re a great guy!

  • Not too sure these guys deserve any credit for being “nice”. I saw the prequel to the original version of them “saving” the bobcat and it looks like they were the ones who illegally trapped and then teased it before filming their “heroic efforts” πŸ™ Sorry to be a Debbie downer……..

    • unclesamnephew

they did the right thing in letting the bobcat loose. the permit comment is unclear. did they have a permit for fox would be the question

    • cabensg

Since they didn’t show the whole thing I’m not even sure these are the same guys or even the same Bobcat.

  • Orangeone

NRA gains 100,000 new members w/i 18 days of Newtown shooting (4.2 million members). And it’s reported by POLITICO (hehehehehe)

β€œOur goal is to get to 5 million before this debate is over,” the NRA told POLITICO’s Mike Allen.

    • Those gun owners are our Vanguard! So long as they stand.. so will this Republic!

  • Conniption Fitz

YET ANOTHER MEANINGLESS PRIZE (like the Nobel Peace Prize):
Bill Clinton named Father of The Year –

The progressives are their own parody.

    • Made the mistake of seeing that news last night when I was eating dinner. Just about choked on my ziti.

  • Orangeone

Everyone on Twitter needs to tweet life-saving gun stories to @NYGovCuomo

  • colliemum

I am not going to have a kitty like that in my house, ok? Not ever!

Great video, amazing bobcat – good thing it lives faaar away from me!

  • colliemum

As this is an OT – please read this:

It’s come to this: Obama to demand that Israel give up its nuclear arsenal

    Words literally fail me!

    • Well there it is. Evil ba$tard. Sorry mum… Evil git.

      • colliemum

B*stard is right ( or ‘barsteward’, as is the way people on blogs over here circumvent the bad-language-moderation).
A git is just annoying, and hasn’t got the power to do real evil, like that POS barsteward in the WH is capable off.

        • Just makin’ sure! πŸ™‚ Sorry mum but even talkin’ evil barstewards, you make me laugh. xoxox

          • colliemum

IMHO, you need more than one apple a day to keep the doctor away – you need at least one laugh a day as well, better are more than one laughs.

            • The apple a day works best if you also have a good shot! Missing him with the apple… He might not even notice! πŸ™‚ But whacking him on the face… That works! πŸ™‚

        • How are you ever going to get a drink again if you call them evil barstewards? πŸ˜‰ LOL!

          • colliemum

            Not a problem!

We call the male bar staff either ‘barman’, or in the better and smaller pubs, ‘landlord’.
The uneducated simply shout ‘hey, over here’, and are promptly disregarded …

            • You and wolfie are cracking me right up! Thanks you two!! πŸ˜€

            • “did you touch my pint”? πŸ™‚

          • ROLF!!

    • warpmine

Israel’s reply should be “Right after you hang yourself, we’ll consider it.”

  • Conniption Fitz

Communism is the religion of the covetous and lazy.

If every dime were divided equally today, tomorrow it would not be that way.

Some would have spent theirs or been scammed or robbed of it…porn, gambling, womanizing, drink, drugs, spending on material things…

There will never be a lack of disparity between people as far as material assets and intellectual talents are concerned.

  • cabensg

Good job! I hope they get rid of the trap to.

  • What if that trap was set for a Bobcat you just released someone’s catch

  • aposematic

Good article at CFP by Doug Hagmann on where we are:

  • Its’ not pResident NObama anymore… Not that it was ever was…But now it’s clear… it’s KING (Kong?) NObama?

Outrage Over Gun Control by Decree

I guess we’re used to NObama bowing down and apologizing to the world for America daring to exist and be the Stalwart of Moralism in a world sinking into chaos fast!!!

  • Landscaper

FACEBOOK: I over heard this one at a store.

“No I’m not on FaceBook because I didn’t like a lot people back when I was in school with them. I sure as hell don’t care what they are up to now.”

  • Sober_Thinking

I’m glad they saved that bobcat. Good for them.

Most tumbleweeds I grew up with would have done something horrible to it.

  • Lee

I hope they got rid of that stupid trap!

  • Orangeone

Ban school buses, oh wait, ban illegal aliens. Found this from 2010, illegal alien kills 4 children on school bus, she blames school bus.,2933,331989,00.html

  • DebbyX

I hope they find the evil person who set the trap and put a part of him in it he won’t miss.

You get to pick the part!
