OUTRAGEOUS: Clyburn refuses to condemn racist remark, says he doesn’t know if Clarence Thomas is ‘Uncle Tom’

After years and years of accusing Republicans of hating Obama because he’s black, Clyburn now refuses to condemn his colleague Rep. Bennie Thompson’s remarks referring to Clarence Thomas as an ‘Uncle Tom’, because he says ‘all of us have ways of expressing our disappointments’.

When asked if he believes Clarence Thomas is an ‘Uncle Tom’, he says “I don’t know”.

Per the Urban Dictionary, the term ‘Uncle Tom’ means “A black man who will do anything to stay in good standing with “the white man” including betray his own people.”

According to Wikipedia it also means “any person perceived to be a participant in the oppression of their own group.”

Just as Morning Joe suggests, Clarence Thomas simply has a different philosophy of government than does Thompson or Clyburn, and yet he’s castigated as a betrayer of his own race by these black congressmen.

This is simply outrageous behavior and these men should be held accountable for such offensive words. And every Democrat should have to answer for this, just as Republicans are always made to answer for their colleagues.
