Paul Ryan: Obama shadowboxing a straw man yesterday during inaugural address

Paul Ryan says that when Obama made the comment below yesterday in his inaugural address, that he was shadowboxing a straw man:

The commitments we make to each other – through Medicare, and Medicaid, and Social Security – these things do not sap our initiative; they strengthen us. They do not make us a nation of takers; they free us to take the risks that make this country great.

Paul Ryan explains below what he means below (via Free Beacon):

This was the lie perpetrated on Romney and his 47% remark as well. Romney wasn’t talking about people who paid into the system and are now reaping those benefits, but rather people who were living off of the government through programs like welfare instead of using them as a safety net to propel them back into the workforce. In other words, he was talking about people who are solely depending on government who haven’t earned it.

But the Democrats lie and twist the comments into a straw man that they can knock down. And Obama’s been doing it for years.
