Peggy Noonan smacks down Michael Eric Dyson’s claim Obama criticism is racist

I would have expected such a great smackdown to come from George Will, but Peggy Noonan really nailed Dyson after he spent over a minute and a half trying to argue that criticism of Obama over his SCOTUS comments has only to do with race:

Whine, whine, whine. Cry, cry, cry. Moan, moan, moan.

How many times did this “intellectual” call GWB a moron/idiot/dimwit in during his presidency?

Besides, “The One” is not black. He’s half-white. Get it straight.

    • Sandra123456

No real black person has ever been elected president of this country. We have had 2 sort of black presidents, Bill Clinton being the first, then Wonder Boy Barry.

Maybe Barry was an affirmative action graduate of law school so he doesn’t really know much about the Law.

      • Sober_Thinking

        Spot on!

      • nibblesyble true.

  • Sorry – but don’t see where Peggy gave them a “smack down”.
Sounded very timid, as of late… and not at all what that jiving false accuser
would have gotten from a real patriot that is sick & tired of listening to that diatribe.
The left just disgusts me – the SAUL ALINSKY WAY is destroying this country.
We need patriots to stand up and put SA back in their faces —
repeat the quotes from his book that the person may be following at the moment.
CALL THEM OUT ON IT! CALL THE SPADES A SPADE without missing a beat!
HOLD THE MIRROR TO THEIR FACES == because it’s the only way the young & uneducated (politically) will EVER see thru the muck from the left. THE LIES!

  • Trust1TG

It will be impossible not to question Obama on the basis of race, when his agenda and policies are racially oriented and what his ideology is all about. Black Muslims, Black Supremacy, Islam and Socialists are all racist, elitist, totalitarian groups.

Racism is precisely what is wrong with Obama and hopefully what will bring Obama down.

The issue of racism is precisely where and why Obama can and MUST be legitimately targeted and exposed.

    • Trust1TG

Not only that, but Obama is in effect hurting blacks – his economic policies have hurt black jobs, incomes and businesses, black communities. – his social policies are disastrous to black families, morals and longterm health and prosperity outcomes. – abortion is primarily a black genocide.

Obama is a disaster for blacks.

      • Sober_Thinking

But he remains the great black hope anyway…

    • CO2isGood

You have hit the nail on the head…the Administration the MSM, and Liberal supporters have spun a web of racism around Obama, and then cried racism everytime he is criticized, with total disregard of reason.

Also agree, that the Left is going to have to deal with this time around is the fact that many African-Americans being hurt by the current policies have begun seeing the light, are speaking their minds, and may start convincing others to, “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” and vote their best interests.

  • PAWatcher

    Thin Skinned = obama.

    • E. Lee Zimmerman

Equally thin-skinned = anyone who supports him.

  • Nukeman60

I get the feeling that people like Dyson wake up in the morning saying to themselves, ‘what can I find racist today?’ He tells Will that he doesn’t have a problem with us tearing apart the content of Obama’s speech, but the overall attack of it is racist. What? That is just self-serving.

And Chalian at the end with, ‘He cleaned it up the next day because of the inaccuracy’. Wow. First, it wasn’t an ‘inaccuracy’. It was an out and out lie. And he didn’t clean it up the next day. He made it worse.

But then, I must just be a racist (or a half-racist, I suppose).

  • KM

The race card – it’s all the socialist-democrats have. Notice the democrats don’t sell the accomplishments of obama?

  • sDee

I think this may be the same segment I heard these creeps slandering and lying – portraying Santorum as a far right religious wacko.

  • justrighton

The slaves will follow their master into hell whenever he needs them to.

  • Sober_Thinking

Another race card… aren’t there only 52 cards in a deck? They should be all out of cards by now.

Raaaaaaacccciiiisssssm!!!!!! That’s all they have. If America is stupid enough to believe this garbage, then there’s no hope for the future. None. Because this is so transparent and pathetic that my cat can see right through it.

Keep these imbeciles off the air!

    • NYGino

52 cards plus a Joker named Obama.

      • freenca

You said what I was going to say. 😉

        • NYGino

My apologies dear friend, guess we think alike.

  • anneinarkansas

Peggy Noonan is a brilliant lady…libs should not mess with her.

  • NYGino

Dyson’s smackdown wasn’t so much a result of the words of the other commentators as their body language and looks towards each other and the eye rolling type expressions they were giving each other as he ranted, once again, about racism.

    • kong1967

I don’t know who she is, but the young woman that asked “do you think being black has made the President less effective?”…

Her facial expressions while she was looking around at the others. It’s like “can you believe this guy?”. She looked like it was all she could do to not burst out laughing.

  • nibblesyble

Glad to see it! Peggy Noonan has disappointed me in the past, especially her disregard for Sarah Palin and Newt..but she zinged the unsuspecting shmuck and that was lovely to see. Speaking of Newt…Scoop could you put up his interview from Fox was simply lovely, especially when Newt refers to ‘the Cross’?

    • E. Lee Zimmerman

Hardly. Noonan still stepping in it, as far as I’m concerned.

      • nibblesyble

I watched it again, as when I did the first time my kids were vying for my attention..I think you are more right than I was. I guess I have set the bar so low when it comes to her that anything seems like a smackdown. She reminds me of BillO…always cautious to compliment the President before they critisize him.

        • E. Lee Zimmerman

Precisely. Noonan was one of the Beltway insiders who was so enamored with Showbama. I didn’t see what she had to say in this clip as being really all that derrogative (sp?) — certainly not to the level that it could’ve and should’ve been. Yeah, I think — when it comes to Barack — she’s cut from the same cloth as if O’Really.

And bless you and your children, by the way.

        • sDee

Interesting observation. Noonan was also a closet Obama devotee. She may be regretting it now, but true colors run deep.

  • stevenbiot

Racism nowadays is a complete joke. Because of guys like Dyson, racism is a word followed by eye-rolling and laughter. Racism has now become the same as the boy who cried wolf. Obama sucks as a president, sucks as a Constitutional scholar, and plays the race card very well. He’s, as Mark Levin calls him, ” a loser.”

    • E. Lee Zimmerman

You’re right. To charalatans like Dyson, racism is a “brand.” They get to scream it, and, immediately, they’re given celebrity AND expert status by the downstream media.

      • stevenbiot

Racism is a thing of the past, except in certain groups. I don’t know of any “White” only television stations, clothing lines, or congressional groups.

        • E. Lee Zimmerman

          Tell that to Al Sharpton.

  • E. Lee Zimmerman

Uh … well, I’ve watched it twice, and I don’t see anything remotely resembling an epic smackdown, especially on the part of Peggy Noonan, fawning Republican. What George Will said was far more damning. Noonan’s so far inside the establishment bubble, I’m surprised she can hear anything other than the sound of her own voice.

  • semihardrock

This is EXACTLY what is wrong the “majority” of US Black population. If they are PROVED wrong or out right lie to anyone, they always “fall back” on the ……But I’m Black…and STOP picking on me….YOU RACIST!
In EVERY aspect of their lives with no remorse or accountability…

THESE are the real reasons why they are ONLY 15% of the total US population and 65% in jail cells… They are Black….and you are a Racist….ALWAYS!

Racist = Infadel…. and vice versa, which is WHY they can relate to the “Muslim Brotherhood”

    • kong1967

To be fair, they have had a lot of help. The left has delivered racial bias policies and has made sure that blacks feel like victims and that they don’t stand a chance without liberals to prop them up. In my mind, if someone told me (for college entrace) I’d get 4 points for perfect SAT scores, 12 points for straight ‘A’s in high school, and 25 points for being white….I’d be furious. Are you saying white people are stupid? The underlying message to me is very clear. Either liberals believe the black man is stupid or they want them to feel extremely disadvantaged to where they can’t make it without liberal polices. The left is largely responsible for the woes of the black population now. It’s sad and disgusting that the left would care more about there political power than an entire population of people.

      • p m

Agree kong. Re your last sentence, the same applies to Israel too, eh? Per 0zero’s last meeting with Bibi Netanyahu.

        • kong1967

Yeah, you’re right about Israel. Israel’s existence hangs in the balance and Obama ties our help to waiting until after the election. “If you try to save your nation sooner I won’t help you from being wiped out”. For Obama to claim that he can’t do anything on an election year is bull. Bush didn’t put off our national security on election year. Obama’s power is all that matters.

      • p m

Agree kong. Re your last sentence, the same applies to Israel too, eh? Per 0zero’s last meeting with Bibi Netanyahu.

      • NCHokie02

Along the affirmative action lines I’ve always just asked the person, when in a discussion about it, “So you’re telling me that you can’t do it (admissions, job, etc) without my help? You aren’t capable of attaining this on your own merits? Through your own work?” They usually stumble and say “No….” then have some weak attempt to defeat my claim and they can’t because it always comes back to the same thing that “you can’t do it without my help. You need me to give you this job instead of you earning it right?” “uh…uh..uh…no…”

One would think that they would be a little pissed about that because thats what affirmative action does is say “You’re not good enough, but we’ll give it to you b/c your black.” and not “Congratulations you earned it.”

        • kong1967

  • 12grace

    Great job, Peggy Noonan.

ironically obama wants everyone to think he is a victim yet we know that obama and minions are doing their best to promote a race war.

    • NCHokie02

Thats what the left does with everything, play the victim card.

  • kong1967

Am I the only one that’s fed up with everything being about race since Obama has been elected? Any kind of opposition to him is labeled as racist, yet he has gotten pass after pass from the media because he is a black liberal. I don’t give a rat’s behind what his color is. Obama is a very intelligent man which is why I cannot pass off his polices as being naive like I did Carter. Obama is from Kenya, has an Islamic background, has expressed that he doesn’t like our Constitution, has expressed that America is unfair and he wants social justice, said capitalism has failed and it’s time to get rid of it, and I believe he is a genius masterfully tearing capitalism apart. This man is too intelligent to give another round of attempts to destroy our Constitution forever. If Obama was a conservative we’d be set, because he is very good at what he does. Well, except for the fact that we don’t need to be masters of deception like he is.

    • p m

Sorry, I don’t think 0zero is very intelligent. In my experience, intelligent people can speak intelligently. The only time this guy is fluent is when he goes on about his commie talking points. He’s just the puppet, others pull the strings.

Mencken had a good point about Capitalism, to paraphrase: for all its faults is has fewer blotches than government and is the only basic institution of modern man that shows any genuine health and vigor*.

*When unfettered by government – he spoke before the torrent of laws and regulations that make most of us unwitting lawbreakers of something or other.

      • kong1967

Ok, you probably have a point. Obama does, however, have the ideology, the wishes to destroy our Constitution, and hunger for power that it takes to be the puppet to push it. In any case, nothing he is doing is being done out of naivete. This has been plotted and planned for decades by far left organizations and it’s being carried out one way or another. I believe his race was a factor that was planned on to use in their favor. This guy is a product of George Soros and has been nurtured from the beginning of his political career.

  • Good for Will and Noonan-it is time to stand up and speak out!

  • drphibes

Who is bringing up race? Oh, that’s right, it’s the LEFT again. And again. And again…

  • GreenBeretWay

The black crutch excuse is lame. The agenda seems to be working of pitting race against race.Seems like the tensions are rising.Catching attitudes where you normally don’t,hateful looks and a we against them mentality.Focus on racial divide not Iran,North Korea, the unemployment or the economy.
