Pelosi: No deal on fiscal cliff unless we raise taxes on the ‘rich’

Yes, she’s just the minority leader and considering Republicans control the House by a significant margin, her side of the aisle can’t do much except to pressure Republicans which is exactly what this is meant to do. But she does serve as a sort-of spokesperson for Democrats in the Senate, who have also vowed to accept no deal unless the rich are finally made to pay ‘their fair share‘ or something:

Once again I charge that Republicans should be more than willing to point out that Pelosi and her Democrat allies are willing to plunge this country over the ‘fiscal cliff’, which will adversely affect both the poor and the ‘middle class’, if their obsession with taxing the rich isn’t part of the deal. Another perfect opportunity to expose the radical ideology of the left and this class warfare tactics.

You mean she didn’t lose her seat? Oh… it’s still lame duck… but surely in January she won’t be back… surely not! Please say it ain’t so… please…

    • I don’t know about anyone else…. but the term “lame duck” is REALLY getting on my nerves.

          • Patriot077

Okay, Duckie, all the joking about ducks made me recall a favorite rhyme from my son’s youth … I heard it so often I remember it but I doubt he does 😛

            I have two ducks, one blue, one black;
And when the blue duck goes quack quack, the black duck quickly quack quacks back.
The blue duck is quite a quacker, but the black duck is the quicker quacker backer!

good memories of listening to all these goofy things in the car with him in his car seat 😉

            • lol. I think I twisted my bill on that one 😉

              • What do you call a cat that eats a duck?

                A duckfilledfattypuss! 🙂

                • lol. I needed that! Oh crap, here comes Miss Jane Deere now, and she looks hungry…..

                • Lesser known reading learner book: See Miss Jane Deer… See Duckie… Miss Jane is hungry… Miss Jane is smacking her lips looking at Duckie! RUN DUCKIE RUN!!!! 🙂

                • LOL. I needed that smile wolfie! I know you don’t like them, but you’d better get used to them from me… ready? Good Here ((((())))s!!!

                • ARRRGH!!! Feather hugs!!!! 🙂

                • You love the feathers and you know it!

      • GreenBeretWay

        Change it to “Lame Smuck”

        • That’s SO much better!! 😀

Either way she’s a poultry excuse for a representative.

                Afternoon ABC! 😀

            • EGGSactly! Pelosi is one ugly chick! 🙂

              • Holy crow! Wolfie, you’re eggcellent today!

              • NYGino

                You’re not yolking wolfie.

              • mikeinidaho

She’s a “chick”? Really? I thought she was a he with too many wrinkles and manboobs!

            • sjmom

Pleeeaassee!!!!!!! I do love the turkey with the trimmings and to associate her with one of my favorite meals could make me lose my appetite for Thursday.

              • NYGino

Sorry mom. Makes it easier on you just think that you told her to stuff it.

                • sjmom

Oh NO! The stuffing is one of my favorite parts of the meal. How about de gobbling her so none of us have to listen anymore???????????

              • Wrap it in bacon mom. (the turkey- not stretch) With bacon, everything goes down easier. 😀

                • sjmom

I love bacon. mmmmm. and a turkey club sandwich with bacon sounds real good. However, the answer could be to let me enjoy my turkey and serve her the raw giblets. Tell her taxes on the rich don’t get raised until she eats everything on her plate and if served with the feathers mixed in it should keep her busy for awhile.:)

                • Make sure you give her extra helpings of peas too. Now I really am hungry for a bacon club sammich 😉

      • las1

        Ha! I’m still snickering…

How about lame fowl… will that help?

      • sjmom

However, you must admit it’s an apt description of this administration. They are definitely lame and a bunch of quacks.

Forgive me Lord for my humorous description.

  • Rshill7

The “progressives” in the House and the Senate just want to put another feather in their socialist and communist followers hats. It pleases the proletariat. Maybe they’ll call that feather macaroni, like Yankee Doodle did before they stab Mr. Doodle in the back, thereby twisting the knife in both his, the rich’s, and the proletariat.

It doesn’t raise any appreciable revenue…in fact could shrink it dramatically. That’s not what it’s about though. It’s all about galvanizing class warfare support from the hard left…you know, their base.

    • sjmom

All I have to say is may the turkey’s feathers tickle them in all the wrong places and may they itch and sneeze their way into oblivion.

  • BHliberty

Yes, yes! Tax those evil rich people! Meanwhile, as the democrats continue their ravaging of the U.S. economy, you gotta listen to this video by Peter Schiff (economist) on who most likely voted for these idiots:

    • las1

The line that keeps college students working… “get me another beer…”

      Love it.

  • Constance

All that will happen, it pains me to state, is that Boehner will cave. In my heart of hearts, I believe he already has. The deal has already been struck. He did this to us the last time… and the time before that. Expect nothing from the GOP except blustering and tough talking. There is not a chance in hell that the GOP leadership in the house or senate will do anything except capitulate. Until they are gone, nothing will change.

    • I agree Constance. Read this, then share your thoughts.

      • Problem with that is most people don’t actually know what is ‘constitutional’ or how precedent established changes everything. Also history. Three major events in our history changed the direction of constitutionality in this country. Civil War, WWI, WWII.

So much of what people know isn’t so.

        • Agreed. We need to do what we can to teach others. A sweet friend told me that we are divided roughly 50/50 in this day and time, but so were we divided 50/50 at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, and again roughly 50/50 at the onset of the Civil War.

Not that we need to have a civil war, but we need to do something or we’ll lose what little bit we have left.

          • My daughter is a historian. She says right now it is 1858.

            • I feel more as if we are in 1836 and our last stand in a little mission with no reinforcements coming.

              • Nope. Too many petitions for secession from the union for it to be 1836.

                • No matter the year, I sure wish we had more Crockets, Lees and Jacksons. Sorry- I like the south.

                • So take the gens of the south and the industry of the north.

                • Actually South has a lot of industry now. a lesson they learned from the Civil War.

                • Me too.

          • virginiagentleman1

I just LOVE your choice of words milady! lol

      • Constance

Hey, that shows some promise! All we have heard for years is that we can’t form a legitimate third party and split from the GOP, and while we have been arguing about that, the GOP has essentially split from us. Conservatives don’t really have a party anymore. We are blatantly ignored on the federal level and attacked almost more by the GOP than the democrats. We are told who to support, and when we don’t support that person, we are told to shut up and sit down. When elections are won, because we won them, the GOP pushes us aside. When elections are lost, the GOP blames us. It’s happening right now. I will gladly join with others in a sincere attempt at a Constitutional Party. Exactly what is there to lose, other than a few elections coming up. We put the GOP into power in the House in 2010, and look at how we have been treated ever since. Winning elections means nothing if the ground game doesn’t change.

        • Thank you Constance! All I can suggest now, is to spread the word around, and get thinking. Even if nothing comes of it- it will hopefully make people aware of just how far both parties have gone from the People. We need a People party. This is the only thing I can think of now, but maybe someone with more knowlege and abilities than I have will see it and get the ball rolling. Please share it as much as you can. 🙂 Thanks.

      • I’ve saved it for later reading, and tweeted it a couple of different ways. The tweet meter still says 0 tweets however, so it’s not working.

        • Thank you Wolfie! I do appreciate the effort though 🙂

          • I’ll get back to you later once I’ve had time to really read/take it in. Like my first scan of it though! 🙂

      • Martin2717

Constitutional Freedom Party?????? I like the sound of that. Let’s get that going now. Screw the GOP and Democrats.

        • We need folks to leave comments and ideas- glad you like it. We need to work fast if we’re going to make it happen. 🙂

    • sjmom

Boehner and McConnell are the poster boys for all that is wrong with the Republican party.

  • Of course since she has the media on her side let the enormous game of blackmail begin.

Taxes will go up. Count on it.

    • johnos2112

And guess who always gets screwed when taxes go up? The middle and lower class. Businesses are just gonna raise the cost of everything and it will get passed on to the consumer. This crap never works. If I were running the show I would embrace a flat tax on net profit. Make it 18% for those making 1 million or more and under that make it 12.5%. This is the only way it is gonna work. Many large corporations have so many loopholes that they will continue not to pay a dime in taxes. A flat tax raises more revenue, gives more Americans more money in their pockets, etc. The govt spends to much money so I would graciously tell Pelosi that your scheme does not work!

      • I agree but it won’t happen. If they embrace tax reform then they will actually pay more in taxes. Flat tax won’t allow for paying zero taxes….ask Immelt. Actually it is a lose/lose because the politicians also lose. They won’t have anyone doing favors, giving their kids jobs, lobbyists making huge donations etc because they won’t have any goodies to hand out.

Anytime you hear someone rich saying “Raise my taxes!” just yell “LIAR!”

        • johnos2112

Well then the country is finished!  This would work and everyone in this country would benefit.  You would see economic prosperity soar.  And the rich that are not paying a dime can not avoid it!

          • Of course it would work but in actuality people like you and I pay taxes. Yes the rich pay taxes, of that I have no doubt, but they get a lot more power with the tax code as it is. I think most of the country is absolutely clueless as to how power and the ego that goes with it is bought and sold daily in DC and New York.

For those people it isn’t just about the money it is about the ego and the high for that ego that goes with it.

Do you know why Hollywood is so heavily involved in politics now? Other than the fact they were educated by Marxists that called themselves hippies. They are involved because they all own their own production companies and need those tax breaks. Plus for the narcissist known as an actor it is the ultimate high.

Anytime you hear “tax the rich” or “raise my taxes!” realize they don’t really mean for themselves in that scenario.

            • johnos2112

I know.  The elite do not want to pay anything in taxes and yet they support higher taxes.  I would run on this right now.  I would also respectfully tell Krauthammer, Kristol, Stephen Hayes and other beltway republicans to get lost.  This would work and it would unite this country!

              • I would also run on the promise to not bring peace to the ME since every time we try we make things worse.

  • johnos2112

Why won’t the right just embrace FLAT TAXES? Am I missing something here?

    • BHliberty

Thank you, finally a common sense approach! The beauracrats use the tax code to maniupulate everything from what you drink to the air you breath (can I say, Kawlifornia!). It’s time for Tax Reform! It would solve a lot of issues!

      • johnos2112

This is such a winner in my eyes and yet I have not heard one person in the RNC embrace it!  Why not?

        • Patriot077

The progressives in the Republican party like their power just as much as the skanks on the other side of the aisle. The tax code is a vehicle they use to reward supporters. Once again, We The People don’t get a vote. I’m all for flat tax on a post card. Just think of how many IRS employees could find private sector jobs. And the expansion that business could enjoy if they didn’t need to hire a bevy of accountants and tax attorneys. On the other hand, it would put most of the tax preparers out of work.

          • johnos2112

They would be put out of work and prosper somewhere else!

    • Snuph

The ruling elite will never allow a “flat” tax for 2 reasons.

1 It would take too much power from them.

2 It would actually force some of the actual “rich” to actually pay taxes.
Look up Mrs John Hienz-Kerry’s 2005 tax return to learn more.

      • johnos2112

Well then a revolution is coming.  I mean a blood bath in DC.  That day is gonna come!

  • WhiteGuy2

Frankly, I don’t care if rich folks have to pay more, after all that’s what they want and thats why the majority of them voted for Obama. I do have a problem with raising taxes on small business.

That said, I hope they do nothing and suffer the consequence of ineptitude.

  • Sandra123456

Well I am tired of the poor people not paying their fair share. I am tired of the 47% that don’t pay taxes.

Flat tax for all. That is fair. Equality.

But of course the Dems and the Libs want to use taxation as a tool for power and vote buying so we must keep the current system.

  • GreenBeretWay

Take a few more Ambien’s and a few swigs off that Vodka bottle and everything will be just fine SanFranNan.

  • Don’t go holding your breath too long Scoop! We don’t want to end up calling you “Little Boy Blue!” 🙂

  • Arrrggghhh

Um, Nancy, which half of income earners pays virtually zero in taxes? Also, please explain to me why you think that’s “fair”.

  • Is it ironic or what that I’m reading this and Chopin Funeral March comes on my computer playing. Must be a sign of something?

  • WordsFailMe

The Republicans will give in and vote with Nancy. They have no plan and never did. They like riding in the back of the bus.

“The Republicans are the men who will not be blamed for nothing.”

    J. Ripper

    • I’ve missed your Words!!

      • GreenBeretWay

        Found this in my in box this morning. Sums it up nicely;

        Old Proverb:
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

        2012 Updated Revision:
Give a man a welfare check, a free cell phone with unlimited free minutes, free internet, cash for his clunker, food stamps, section 8 housing, free contraceptives, Medicaid, ninety-nine weeks of unemployment, free medicine, and he will vote Democratic the rest of his life.even after he’s dead

        • Darn it, my like buttons are sticking this morning. I like that one myGreenBeret. There’s been a “cartoon” similar to that on facebook which I’ve passed along a few times. Funny in a sad way how Old proverbs are still so relevant to our times. (((())))s

        • TimeForAnarchy

Vote after he’s dead. And he wasn’t even from Chicago!

  • RNC – Really NObama Comrades!

Man 1: The boat is sinking!
RNC: (shhh!) we don’t want to rock the boat!

  • Strange how you never hear people demand “bipartisanship” from liberals. Never. With people like Pelosi it’s either her way or the highway. And her way involves taxing EVERYBODY to death. I would give the Democrats NOTHING. Republicans are going to be blamed for whatever happens, so why give in? And if there IS a major deal and taxes go up, do you ever, EVER, think that the Republicans will get any credit for it? Not on your life. It will be seen as a major victory for Obama and it will be seen as the Republicans caving to the demands of liberals, even though we only lost the election by about 1%. So give them nothing. If we go over the fiscal cliff, so do they. But at least we’ll be standing for something. Let them beg for a deal from US, not the other way around.

  • virginiagentleman1

Well son of a gun, Nancy! I finally agree with something that comes out of your mouth! YES!! Lets tax the wealthy at 90% of their total worth!
But I have a caveat; We will only tax members of Congress and the White House who make over $1.00 a year!

  • TimeForAnarchy

Define “rich”. I knew you couldn’t do it.

  • Haywoodjbl

What we REALLY NEED is a full fledged TAX REVOLT….taxation without representation is occurring right before our eyes.

  • Haywoodjbl

    F HER FAIR SHARE!!!!!….

  • It’s always tax… tax.. TAX!!! it’s never CUT & TAX or CUT first and see IF we need to raise taxes with this mob is it??? Cut the fat! Cut the waste! Cut the fiddling! THEN talk to me about taxes!

  • DavidRobertson

I really want the American people to think this through…regardless of whether you think that taxing a segment of our population that creates jobs is wise or not.

follow the logic. Reconcile within your minds two talking points the progressive politicians and media are telling you.

    1. “We need to ask the rich to pay their fair share”
    2. “It isn’t fair that the rich pay less effective rate than their secretary” This, regardless of the fact that we are talking about two different taxes (Cap gains and payroll)

So, how do they make sure that the bush tax cuts only expire for the very rich? Only raise the top marginal rate? how does that bring in more revenue when nobody pays the top marginal rate? (Thus, the accusation that they pay a lower rate than their secretary). The only way to fix point #2 is to raise the tax on capital gains….which curbs investment and trade.

The slowing of investment and trade will burst the trading bubble that is being created by QE. Once that bursts, inflation and interest rates rise. Then, it is hello to the Carter years.

If you were around during the Carter years, please raise your hand if you think you were better off then…

This is all smoke and mirrors for the lack of appetite by both parties to cut entitlements. I don’t think there is anyone out there that actually thinks that any cuts will be enacted that are greater than the built in annual increases that are already in the budget. We aren’t serious. We are heading over the cliff.

    • Patriot077

I agree, David. No tax increase is enough to make any fiscal correction. If spending isn’t cut (including the stimulus increases that have been embedded in the annual budget) there is no hope of averting chaos. And the minute the interest rates go up we will spend more in servicing the debt than we are spending on any other expense. At that point, the house of cards collapses IMHO.

They will be after all the 401k’s and IRA funds next and try to sell us on some gov’t retirement annuity cheese.

      • DavidRobertson

You make a point I missed inserting…the rates up=no ability to service the debt
        That’s the real cliff.

All the while, this administration advertises to get anyone and everyone dependent on them. Just look at their “wecome to the USA” site:

  • klaffner

The good news is that Pelosi is not a player in this.

    • Patriot077

I would beg to differ. If there are any Dems in the House that don’t walk the party line she will be twisting their arms and threatening them. She drives a hard bargain and Boehner could learn a few things from her about sticking to your guns.

  • “If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” ~Ronald Reagan

“The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money [to spend].” Margaret Thatcher

  • colliemum

OK – let Madame P, Monsieur Reid and ther est of the rich congress critters lead by example: let them pay all the taxes ordinary people pay: no exemptions, no excuses, because they’re congress critters – oh, and of course they must pay the full Obamacare as well.
Yeah – show us your money, then you can preach about raising taxes on ‘the wealthy’.

  • JeffWRidge

Tell me again, who is holding the tax cuts for the middle class hostage?

  • sjmom

It’s over the river and off of the cliff to January 1st we go.
The Dems know the way to carry the sleigh with debt and tax hikes in tow.

Go ahead Nancy make my day and refuse any deal without tax hikes.

  • TitaniumEagle

I’d like to petition the White House to issue an executive order removing the word ‘fair’ from the dictionary.

  • jrt1031

” The Rich” who is she kidding. When Pelosi says the rich she is referring to the capitalists job creators…. not the elite rich leeches that she helps stash money out of the country. How can anyone take this lying lier seriously? The Republicans are not so far up BO’s a s s. All they can do is blame each other for their loss and come to DC with the tails under their legs…. Weak cowards. If they really cared about the tax paying citizens they would have elected Newt as speaker to put Pelosi in her place. She is a horrible person and will some day get what is coming back at her.

  • Bunjy

I am so tired of seeing her face and hearing her ignorant commentary. Show some dignity and retire already.

    • NYGino

      I second that motion.

    • PhillyCon

Uh, she will follow Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd’s lead.

  • pmb88

I am so sick and tired of them just saying that taxes will resolve all the nations woes. You know what would be fair if the poor actually start paying their fair share in taxes. Forget the rich what about the poor. They’re the ones who ask for these free things so they should start paying for it.

  • bongobear

Well, the ‘rich’ would include Pelosi and her husband but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for her to pay her ‘fair share’. Like all of the congress critters she is exempt from most of the regulations that impact the majority of Americans…and I would bet she exempts herself, as much as possible, from paying taxes.

  • pmb88

I wonder how steny hoyer and clybourn feel that she aint going nowhere anytime soon

  • Snuph

The “rich” do not care what the tax rate is. It does not apply to them. Want proof? Look up Mrs John Hienz-Kerry’s 2005 tax return. Any increase in tax rates will only apply to the middle class.

  • Snuph

    The GOP has 2 options.

1 “Stand Down” and let Obama and the DNC raise taxes and increase spending all they want. Make Obama send the bills over and then have all Republicans vote “Present” forcing the DNC to OWN what happens.

2 “Stand Their Ground” and let the “deal” already made come into effect. The tax increases are in reality only allowing the rates to go back to “normal”. The “cuts” to the budget are not cuts at all rather they are cuts to the automatic increases in the baseline budget.

If the GOP does anything in the middle of these two positions they will lose the House in 2014.

  • PapaLouie

In other words, Democrats get 100% of everything they want or there’s no deal. And they say Republicans are the ones who won’t compromise. Democrats don’t know what the word “compromise” means.

The fact is, Democrats have no incentive to avoid the fiscal cliff. It offers everything they want: higher taxes, cuts to the military, and the opportunity to blame Republicans for all of it. Don’t believe what Democrat politicians say in public. They would love to raise taxes on the middle class along with the rich. They always have. But they know they can only get away with it if they can blame the GOP. So House Republicans are walking into a trap they helped set up when they made the sequester agreement. They think Democrats only want to raise taxes on the rich and will do anything to avoid raising taxes on the middle class. But nothing could be further from the truth. The trap is about to be sprung and they don’t have a clue.

  • It has always been the plan of the progressive left that controls the Democratic party. To have the middle and lower economic citizenry be beholden to big government. By using the class warfare rhetoric ad nauseum and infinitum. They have successfully fooled the American electorate with the help of the liberal media and all institutions of learning.
The rich will always do well no matter who is in power, and they will be able to thrive even with the tax hikes proposed by the Democratic party. The fix has been set, and the Hamiltonian’s are just a fiscal cliff away from taking over the country with a new form of monarchy….Government Rules!
Here’s a great quote from my favorite founding father and 3rd President of the United States-Thomas Jefferson.
” Single acts of tyranny maybe ascribe to the accidental opinion of a day, but a series of oppressions, began at a distinguished period, unalterable through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematical plan of reducing us to slavery.”T.Jefferson

  • opinionatedhermit

“If we cannot screw the rich … then we will screw everyone …..”

  • semihardrock

People in Government have been lying to the general public for so long, nobody can tell reality from illusions.

Hence this woman, who has driven CA into bankruptcy…..asking for “rich people” to pay her debts……

They WILL write laws to continually steal money from “EVERYONE” to pay for more Government…Federal Reserve Banking doesnt work…..never has throughout history!

  • Boehner the Quisling: “Compromise! Bipartisanship! Reach across the aisle!”
Pelosi the Wicked Witch of the West: “No tax cuts! Our way or the highway!”
McConnell: “Compromise!” (It’s weird because liberals really hate him)
Reid: “No compromise! Our way or the highway!”

Ay carumba. There’s not a lot of distance because Democrat hard-liner bomb-throwers and their leaders. Their hard-liners and bomb-throwers get to be their leaders! Alan Grayson and Nancy Pelosi are in the same wing of the party! And they get along fine.
And yet on our side you have boo hoo Boehner caving in to whatever Obama wants, working AGAINST the Tea Party Caucus while failing to work against Obama, and intimidating and trying to muzzle real conservatives like Michele Bachmann to cover Obama while being utterly complicit and groveling with whatever Obama wants.

Their leaders are part of their base. Our leaders have contempt for their base.

  • In order for the higher income people to pay their “fair share”, then they should get a massive tax cut while those who currently pay no income taxes should have to start paying.

I wonder if she was thinking about the fiscal cliff when she traveled in her personal jet, stocked with the finest booze and god knows what else?

    • PhillyCon

Exactly. It’s interesting that this was never a big story. I wonder why? /

PS-It wasn’t just her on the jet, but her family, and friends.

  • stevenbiot

Once the “fair share” rhetoric becomes mainstream, we’re screwed. And the rhetoric is definitely mainstream.

is anyone watching the hen house? (punn intended) what I mean is, these people in congress that want taxes raised on the wealthy are all filthy rich themselves. Is anyone paying attention to the loopholes cut into policy that allow them to take advantage of the system they create? Nancy Pelosi is a millionaire herself, she should be concerned to have to pay more, but it doesn’t seem to phase her, I can’t believe that she is willing to pay more out of a “generous heart”, there must be some unseen pass they are giving themselves that the rest of the American millionaires are not immune to.

  • wodiej

We’ve got cry baby boehner and spineless Cantor. What do you all think is going to happen? Frankly I don’t give a crap what happens to these businesses any more. If the economy is good they still cheat workers on wages and benefits. If the economy is bad they take the jobs away, they use it as leverage to scare the hell out of everyone else and cut their wages more. Either way we are screwed. Started my own business-they can all stick it.

  • When she and her rich husband give everything they own to the poor, I’ll give her a gold star and a certificate. Until then, she can buzz off.

  • louisiana_mom

Pelosi: No deal on fiscal cliff unless we raise taxes on the ‘small businesses’

There I fixed it for you, Nancy. Because that is exactly what raising taxes on those making $200,000+/year will be doing. The same small businesses that employ 58% of Americans, the same small businesses that will already be hit by Obamacare. The Destructive party came up with the perfect plan to kill off small businesses.

  • FreeManWalking

I see the GOPe caving in!
After they raise taxes and unemployment increases and more companies go Bankrupt
the spin will be the GOP didn’t give in enough, or soon enough.

Whatever the flavor of cupcake of the day is, you can bet it will be the GOP’s fault.

  • FreeManWalking

We need a Congress that will go through the laws and eliminate all the unconstitutional ones, starting with 0b0care.
Then do their job and eliminate the over bearing bureaucracies instead of fostering off their duties to them.

They have too many departments going on… All of the Departments have many more Offices, Agencies, Centers and Bureaus. If 90% were gone tomorrow, a working person wouldn’t miss’em and wouldn’t know they ever existed.

    for a start.
    Department of Education
    Department of Energy
Department of Health and Human Services
Department of Housing and Urban Development
    Department of Labor

    • TimeForAnarchy

Disband the NLRB as well. It’s clearly a State’s Rights issue.

    • NCHokie02

      But then they would hate

      Education and kids,
      cities and the poor,
      and working class people.

I can see the calls of that as any mention of reducing the Dept of Ed’s budget gets thrown up in the media as “you hate education and want to push our children back”. We all know thats not true because ever since the doed has arrived our schools have done nothing but drop in world status. The RINO’s will never do that, never. Even though they control the funding for it. I’m with you but they won’t do it.

  • It’s not a fiscal cliff anymore, it is more like the grand canyon. And any of the spineless RINO’s that go along with this should be voted out of office if they run again. Pelosi should go first, her brain is fried. Remember her statement…”let’s pass this Obamacare so we can see what’s in it…”?????

  • spin43

Let’s have an “inside the beltway tax” of 90%. This would include all those working for the three branches of the federal government. Tax their pensions at 50%. Cough up Pelosi!

  • Obama’s own OMB has shown that allowing marginal rates to return to Clinton-era levels would result in about $84 billion of revenue per year (and that is assuming everything else remains the same).

The federal budget deficit is now $1.5 trillion per year.

The fact that people like Pelosi can engage in this worthless class warfare demonstrates just how ignorant and gullible so many Americans are.

There is no “fiscal cliff” except the one in our rear view mirror that we drove off in 1971. Brace for impact.

  • NCHokie02

so much for compromise and working with the other side huh?

It’s my way or no way. Ummm…your in the minority in the house so it’s going to pass the house. Senate will probably still be on vacation so nothing will get done for another 4 years as long as Reid is in charge.

  • mikeinidaho

Somebody want to tell that botox infected feces that she’s not in charge of the House anymore? It’s not her call, period!
