PURGE PURGE PURGE!

Wow. This is absolutely nuts!

The post-coup purge by Sultan Erdogan has been radically expanded to include the education ministry, university deans, religious public servants – even the Prime Minister’s office!

Erdogan is purging like a madman, and we’re not talking small potatoes here. These are huge numbers!

DW – The Higher Education Board ordered all deans to resign as part of a crackdown following last weekend’s failed coup. Staff from the education ministry and the office of the prime minister were also told to leave.

The order, made to all 1,577 university deans at state and private institutions, was reported by Turkey’s state broadcaster TRT, and followed the earlier sacking of 15,200 staff working for the National Education Ministry.

Officials said an investigation had been launched against employees at both urban and rural education establishments suspected of having links to a religious movement blamed for the attempted overthrow of the government on Friday. The failed coup left 232 people dead and thousands wounded.

More than 250 staff working in Prime Minister Binali Yildirim’s office were also dismissed, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported. The mass firings followed similar purges in several government ministries on Monday.

TURKISH MINUTE – Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate has announced that it suspended 492 personnel due to allegedly having links to Friday’s military coup attempt.

The directorate released a statement on Tuesday, informing that 492 of its public servants, including three provincial muftis, were suspended from duty over the coup attempt in Turkey.

The statement underlined that the suspended personnel will also be investigated “by taking into consideration the public sensitivity for religious services.”

Wow, some serious purging is going on here! Talk about not letting a crisis go to waste.

So what do we have now? The NY Times sums it up to over 50,000 since last Friday night!

Around 50,000 soldiers, police, judges, civil servants and teachers have been suspended or detained since the coup attempt, stirring tensions across the country of 80 million which borders Syria’s chaos and is a Western ally against Islamic State.

As best I can tell, here’s the breakdown:

Military — 6,000
Police — 9,000
Judges — 2,800
Governors — 38
Education — 15,200
Deans — 1,577
Clerics — 492
Intelligence — 100
Finance — 1,500

That’s over 36,000 right there. There must be more if the NY Times is saying 50,000.

Even so, 36,000 is a HUGE number in only a few days after the so-called attempted coup.

I think if you don’t have Erdogan tattooed to your forehead, you are out.

Oh and one more thing. Erdogan now wants to reinstate the death penalty for some of those involved in the phony coup attempt:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he is ready to reinstate the death penalty if the Turkish people demand it and parliament approves the necessary legislation.

Erdogan spoke early on Tuesday to thousands of supporters outside his Istanbul residence who were chanting for Turkey to restore capital punishment following the failed coup.

“Today, is there no capital punishment in America? In Russia? In China? In countries around the world? Only in European Union countries is there no capital punishment,” Erdogan said.

This phony coup was Erdogan’s Hitler move. And this is only the beginning.
