Senator Rand Paul has been pretty vocal so far about the GOP “repeal and replace” bill, especially regarding his issue with them not actually repealing Obamacare. To get his message out, he’s being pretty unorthodox. Like father, like son, I guess.
Earlier this week, in preparation for the debate on the AHCA, Paul brought copies of The Art of the Deal to the House Freedom Caucus meeting. That is classic.
“Senator Rand Paul admires President Trump’s negotiation skills and thought it would be helpful for conservatives to brush up ahead of negotiating on the ‘Obamacare Lite’ legislation being offered by the House,” said Sergio Gor, the Senator’s communications director.
But as fun as that it, he makes a good point. And he made several more points on Sunday morning.
Rand Paul hits Ryan from both sides: "You socialize the insurance company losses, but you privatize the billions of dollars that they make.”

Paul says that the bill will not pass, directly contradicting Speaker Ryan’s rosy report this morning on the same.
Will the GOP health care bill pass Congress? "I don't believe so," @RandPaul tells @GStephanopoulos. https://t.co/WUlDJOw9t3 #ThisWeek pic.twitter.com/BAUcMdId6n

“I don’t believe so,” he says on whether the bill passes.
In the full interview, he really nails a few things to the wall for the leadership.
“None of us ran on this plan. We ran on repealing ObamaCare because it doesn’t work.”
Solid truth right there.
“We never ran on making the entitlement subsidies permanent”
Ouch. Ryan says it will pass, Paul says it won’t. The rest of us find out soon enough.
