Dead amendment walking. :( Reid is Obama's puppet and he will never let this go anywhere. Besides that no blue state senators would ever deny their messiah. It's almost as if these democRat politicians are in cahoots with the enemies of America.
There is no question in my mind that the Democrat Party IS the enemy within. Social Engineering from Amnesty, Military, Healthcare, Welfare, Unemployment, Food Stamps, Money and Arms to our enemies, Announcing troop withdrawals, Gun Control, all the antithesis of American values and secutiry. The party wasn't hijacked - it was voted in and condoned. Repubs continue to vote YES to Obama's nominations. Sickening

It's nice to see some semblence of sanity coming from someone in congress.
Call me jaded... even if they vote "no" to this... I wouldn't be surprised to see Dear Ruler go behind their backs again, in direct defiance of the U.S. Constitution (which he swore to uphold... several times), and pass another illegal EO, giving his brothers in the desert these weapons. If this happens, the next vote in congress should be about his impeachment.
It's funny how flaming liberals want to take our guns... but want to send advanced weapons to our enemies. Couldn't the bad guys, I don't know, KILL someone? Oh wait... my bad... liberals view the bad guys AS the good guys... because with liberals and radical Muslims, they all look the same to each other... and they all have the same goals.

What is it going to take for a senator or representative to STAND UP in DEFIANCE and explain that Executive Orders can't be written into United States law?
EOs are only orders for the employees of the executive branch on how the president directs the running of the day to day operations of the executive branch?
You are right... we're all waiting for a hero. Stinks to wait... this should have been thwarted long ago (EOs). What's it going to take? Sadly... 4 more years of Obama perhaps.

Ultimately their goals differ, but the liberals are either too stupid to realize it or they think they can get to a certain point together and then gain control and come out on top.
It will be interesting to see what happens. But remember, there's a lot more at stake here than just a vote on Egypt. If we stop American weapons in general from going to Egypt, American weapons manufacturers will not get paid. A lot of the "foreign aid" that goes to Egypt is money that is used to buy American weapons from American manufacturers paid for by the American taxpayer. Take the weapons out of the equation and the the weapons manufacturers will not be happy. I'm sure those folks at General Dynamics or Boeing or a half a dozen other suppliers to this deal are not going to be thrilled about this vote and will make their unhappiness very, very, plain to the senators in their states too. We'll see who wins.
That vote will expose the Political line in the sand for/against Islam/Israel. Let the games begin...

As well-intentioned as Senator Paul's amendment is, it will not gain any traction in the Reid-ruled Senate.
This deal was null and void when they threw the Mubarak government out but I don't suppose that matters much to Barry and Co. and the RINOS.
O probably thought it wise that since the US has been sending arms to Israel in the past, he might as well send some to Israel's enemies - the Arabs & its allies, like Egypt. Unfortunately, unlike Israel, Arab muslims tend to exercise very little restraint & control once they have their finger on the trigger.
Unlike Israelis, who only put their finger on the trigger when the target is in their sights, the muslims put their finger on the trigger whenever they put their foot in their mouth.
It's a reflex action and usually gets that foot shot off (as they always seem to be shooting their mouths off at the time).
If the deal goes through and Morsi uses the tanks or planes agains his own people or Israel, then what does the American public do?
What is Morsi uses them against US troops? Or sells them to our other enemies? Or lets our other enemies dismantle to re-engineer?
I suppose our answer will be "just wait until the next election" and we get a Republican president in. Assuming we have a country to hold elections in.
That and assuming the potus doesn't EO away our right to vote and cancel all future elections
I don't want F-16s going to Egypt, but what is the amendment an amendment to? I'm trying to find a few more details before contacting my senators. A cursory web search did not help me. Is there anything else in the amendment?
This arms deal was forged by Bush and was intended for Mubarrak, now it's going into an unstable Islamist nation.

Giving planes and tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood is irrational. Unless, of course, you agree with their Islamist jihadists ways. Obama really showed himself in this and IMO you have to be blind, deaf and dumb to go along with this which is why I want the vote count on this one. Every pro Israel Senator in both parties should stand with Rand Paul and vote no.

I've talked to a lot of hypocrites too. For instance, the liberals who pitched such a fit over 'the surge' Bush launched in Iraq led by a man they called 'Gen. Betray-Us', then praised Obama for 'the surge' he launched in Afghanistan led by the same Gen. Petraeus. ;-) ;-)
Bush surge = Bad. Obama surge = Good.
A little more situational hypocrisy from the left.
The hypocrisy swings both ways. I've talked to plenty of people who defended Bush's policies who are now pissed at Obama for abusing and expanding on those very same BUSH policies that BUSH put in place. Had these idiots opposed the Bush policies in the first place they wouldn't be there for Obama to expand upon and abuse.
