READY FOR HILLARY … To ‘Come Out of the Woods’?

Hillary said on Friday that she’s “ready to come out of the woods” so she can help bring Americans together. For real. She said that.

The question is, are we ready for that? Does anyone, anywhere actually want that?

From Fox:

“What can we do to try to bring people together and to try to find that common ground, even higher ground, sister, so that we listen to each other again and we know that we can make a difference? I’m not sure it will come out of Washington yet, but I think it can come out of Scranton. Let’s find ways to do that,” she told the Society of Irish Women.

This talk of higher purpose and common ground is a joke coming from the spirit animal of every angry leftist member of “the resistance” out there in the streets or on TV talking just short of revolution. What does she mean by come together? Well there’s her version, and there’s the truth. The truth is that she means what liberals always mean when they say “come together,” which is “you come do the things we want.”

But here’s what she says:

“Our country seems so divided right now,” Clinton said to the sometimes raucous crowd at the Society of Irish Women’s 19th annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, where she was the keynote speaker. “I do not believe that we can let political divides harden into personal divides.”

The Times-Tribune in Scranton, where the event was held, described it this way:

While her campaign battle with Trump was fierce, the tone she struck Friday was one of cooperation and bridge-building.

What bridges, you have to wonder, are Democrats willing to build? Let’s not forget they lost. They were voted out of office. They were replaced. It’s up to them to build the bridges.

Of course, the press will continue to suggest that Trump is dividing America and they’ll try to paint Democrats, and Hillary especially, as the ones trying to bring us together. But when they do, like with this speech, notice that there is no outline of how bridges will be built or compromise achieved. There’s a reason for that.

They expect you to compromise. Not them. We won’t see Hillary suggesting people support the Republican healthcare bill. We won’t see Hillary saying maybe the wall is a good idea. Will she sign on to the temporary immigration ban? Maybe the increased defense budget? How about cutting funding to Planned Parenthood. Will she cross that bridge in solidarity with the side that won the election?

No.

She’s ready to come out of the woods, but not to compromise. She just wants to do what Clintons do. Make trouble, get paid.

Do us a favor, Hillary. Keep camping.

… ps. At least one person on Twitter has a theory for why she’s finally ready to leave the woods.
