Rep. Steve King torches Obama admin’s selective enforcement of law for political and racist reasons

During a press conference on SB1070 today, Rep. Steve King ripped the Obama administration and the Justice Department for selective enforcement of the law solely for political and racist reasons. After citing example after example of how the Obama administration has done this, he went to the nub of it and spelled it out rather bluntly for the press:

There’s a political motive for this and it should be very clear to all of us. It’s not a mystery! This isn’t about somebody else’s idea of what the rule of law is, this is about somebody’s idea on what’s going to benefit them politically. … We cannot be a successful nation if we’re going to let politics flow from the Justice Department and from the White House and usurp the rule of law.

    I relish the day when Holder, Maobama, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and all the other corrupt politicians are brought to trial and convicted for the evils they have brought upon this nation. They are corrupt, they are traitors to this nation, and they will be judged… if not by man, then more appropriately, by a just and righteous God. These arrogant, selfish devils will indeed get their reward, some day.

    You know, former Vice President Dick Cheney said recently that the Republican nominee (shall I say the putative nominee, Mitt Romney) should not base his selection of a VP running mate based on gender or race or regional influence, but that he should be choosing someone based on his ability to be PRESIDENT. If EVER there was a man who could do America proud, it would be Steve King of Iowa. I have watched his career (from here in AZ) over the years and consider him to be among the few in D.C. with honor, virtue, integrity, and a sincere high regard for the Constitution — old fashioned terms and ideas that need to be celebrated, rather than scorned as the vicious MSM is want to do.

    Steve King for VP. Let’s see if Romney can man-up to this challenge, the challenge of picking a statesman versus another sop to moderates wherein the decline of America can proceed unabated.

    • While I agree he’d be an excellent pick, correct me if I’m wrong in not understanding the full duties of the VP, wouldn’t he do much better remaining in Congress where he could keep doing what he’s been doing? Would he still have the voice in the VP office as he does now?

        Excellent comment, for sure. While that is certainly true, that we need men like Steve King in Congress, it is also true that good men are hard to find and in taking them out of any current position they occupy it must leave a gap, as it were. Nevertheless, the job of VP is to assume the presidency should the need arise. We should want to have the best man available.

        Many are touting the electability quotient (for the GOP ticket) of the junior senator from Florida. But I have heard no one argue that we ‘need’ him in the senate; but of course we do, and for him, specifically, the senate is a better fit for Rubio — of Florida. If anyone, he is the kind of candidate material for VP that D. Cheney is cautioning against.

        I have little if any expectations that a man of the quality of Steve King will even be on the list of possible VP choices. I hope to be proved wrong; I hope that there is just enough fire from the base — and I DO NOT MEAN the so-called conservative element who think they are conservative but who merely want things to go on as before but with Republicans at the helm so they can receive the spoils accordingly — that their exertions will force our government to aim the ship of state away from statism.

        • Well said Harriet, thanks for the explanation. I agree completely with what you said, and I don’t think Rubio would be the best choice, at least not right now. There’s still the question of his eligiblity for President should he if VP have to take on that roll- and while I am a proud “birther” who is frustrated at the lack of vetting of dear leader’s own documents, I think if Rubio is the choice, then the whole eligiblity issue would be thrown out in dear leader’s case.

      We can hope that he’ll choose a Conservative for VP, but Mittens doesn’t want to take off his gloves and fight Barry with hard-core truth and facts. I can’t see him choosing someone who will actually stuff it down Barry’s throat. Like McLame, he’s concerned about being called names (racist) or seeming brutish. I don’t think he really understands how TICKED OFF the Conservative voters are and how much he needs us to drag him across the finish line.

      You’re absolutely correct. We’ve got Allen West, Paul Ryan, and a few others – see previous Scoop pages for specific examples. We need to get MUCH more vocal in the Senate. The way I see it, Mike Lee is really the only faithfully outspoken Senator when he gets the opportunity. Rubio has some good moments, but he’s creeped me out a little over the past few weeks with his endorsement of Mittens… We need noisemakers in both Houses AND we need to change leadership in BOTH Houses.

I doubt the ability of the Organizer-In-Chief to control what he and Eric “Mypeople” are heating up. The New Black Panther Party, for example, is likely to shed significant innocent blood, and then large volumes of their own. I don’t want that.

      Possibly so. They are helping stir the pot on racial tensions, for sure, and for their own political ends. What happens when even more people get hurt?

      I think that even if everything blows over, you’ll still be left with increased tension and distrust.

      This, under an administration that was supposed to stand for reconciliation and as living proof that Americans were beyond the color of a person’s skin. It’s all he can think about! I’m utterly disgusted that Obama, of all people, doesn’t use his election and his position of authority to bring unity.

        if by “everything blows over” you mean after the EXPLOSION, the amount of tension will depend on the largest group left, those that Want to protect their STUFF, or those that think they are entitled to everyone’s STUFF.

  • All I have to say about ObamaCo’s attempts to squelch the States’ and the Peoples’ rights to defend themselves from foreign criminals is this:

    “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”
    Amendment 9, United States Constitution

    Put plainly for the stupid: just because the federal government has certain enumerated powers, does not mean the states cannot take on similar, or identical, duties and responsibilities. States are sovereign, and instead of their being this mythological “separation of Church and State” that prevents theologians from having a say in their own government, there actually IS a wall of separation between the States, the People and the federal government. As far as I’m concerned, if I was president, I’d let states have their own anti illegal immigration forces, similar to Border Patrol and ICE, and pass their own laws that did not conflict with federal law and the Constitution. I couldn’t care less if the States started rounding up illegal aliens, imprisoning them at hard labor for a time, and deporting entire families (which is prudent, in accordance to the 14th Amendment).

      The birth certificate issue is a no go. The Supreme Court has ruled multiple times that the person suing has no standing….and that includes a Congressman. No one seems to be hurt by Obama being a fraud….at least according to the Supreme Court.

    These statements should come as no surprise to anybody. The democratic party is the party of hypocrisy before anything else. It’s always been do as I say not as I do.

    I believe Barack is to the point now where even if the healthcare law is overturned (for example) by the supreme court, that he’ll just say something like:

    “They’ve made an incorrect choice in this matter and we’re going ahead with our plans because it’s what the American people put me in office to do”.

    To summarize the Congressmen, the law only applies when it’s favorable for Barack and the democrats to apply it.

    P.S. Notice how I do not call him the President but call him by his first name. Because only a man who respects the Office of the President deserves to be called that. He has no respect for the office therefore I have no respect for him as my President so I’ll just call him Barack.

      Obama is putting the implementation of Obamacare into high gear just in case it gets shot down by the Supreme Court. He wants to say, and will say that we cannot undo it now because it’s too imbedded into the system and too many people will be hurt by it.
