Rep. Yoho: 2nd amendment means having same guns as military

Freshman Republican Congressman from Florida Rep. Yoho says his district is telling him that there are no lines to be drawn for gun control, that militias had the same weapons as the military in order to protect themselves from tyranny.

    Yes – Correct

and I am the first to say it!

If the liberals don’t like it

    They can move to China

  • wales777

EXACTLY!!! Thank God someone is saying this. YES!!

  • Too many people don’t see the Constitution as law anymore, nor do they view it as solid and applicable now as it was when it was written. They see the words, and say, oh, well that just meant a militia, so since we aren’t part of a militia we shouldn’t have guns.
People need to look at the Constitution and at the writings of those who authored it. Unless they know the Founder’s intent, they won’t know the meaning of the Constitution.

    • 57thunderbird

They need to read the federalist papers. Then they would understand.

    • capelady

And the 1st amendment freedom of the press only applies to newsletters and pamphlets, I suppose!

      • Heh! Good one capelady!

      • Orangeone

It only applies to what was created before the printing press 🙂

  • Just give me my nukes.

Need to protect the house against invaders.

    • Joe

      A Moat with Gators

      Lot’s of ammo

      • How did you know that’s what I’ve got!

      • TexasPGRRider

I`ve played some golf courses in the late 80s around Ft. Myers, Fla., and I believe they had signs posted: “Watch for Alligators”…

        • This guy lived in my mo… er, ditch a couple of winters ago.. He was just a baby though.

          • TexasPGRRider

GOOOOOOOOD NIIIIIIIGHT !!! NEVER get between a new calf and a momma cow !!! I`ve seen reports of gators coming out of the water into peoples backyards in Florida…they are QUICK and NOT Bashful !!! Stay AWARE !!!

            • Yes, I have had a run in with a gator when I was a kid down to the panhandle for vacation. The buggers know how to run.
Thankfully this one was kind of blocked out of the yard even though he was in the ditch. Don’t know (or want to know) where his mama was. THere’s a pond on the far side of the property and once in a while we’ll have one or 2 there as well.
I used to work at a dirt mining pit- we had them there too- thick. Hated mating season, couldn’t go in the marshy parts to go fishin’ then and that’s where all the good bass hung out. 😉

              • TexasPGRRider

We have gators in Texas too. The largest I`ve seen in the wild was on a rural road between Houston and Sabine Pass. I was in a company car on the way to catch a helicopter to go to an offshore wellsite in the early 80s. That gator was Fat and almost as long as that 4dr chevy I was drivin`!! I didn`t get out and measure, he was just sittin` on the side of the road, enjoyin` the sunshine and watchin` the traffic go by….

                • I lived in Texas before I lived here. I didn’t see any Gators where I was (Tyler) just plenty of moccasins, which we have here too. It doesn’t surprise me the big fat boy you saw though. I know they’re in the south part. AND everything’s bigger in Texas! 😉

                • TexasPGRRider

I HOPED you wouldn`t take it like: “My gatrz biggrn YURZ” !!!

                • LOL! It’s been a while since I heard that accent 😉 Nope. We’ve got some biggun’s round these parts too. A gator is a gator no matter what State he’s in.

                • TexasPGRRider

I started listening to some of the songs I`ve been suggesting while staying online w/cup of hot tea…not bad….

                • There have been a lot of songs. Good stuff too- even if I can’t use some, you guys gave me a good collection 🙂
Have a good night Texas- it’s past 2 thirty and I’ve still got to get some stuff done. Have a Blessed day tomorrow! Night! And thank you!

                • I am a Texas girl and I can confirm that everything is BIGGER in Texas, especially the mosquitoes.. 😛
I also lived in Florida for 20 years, the the gator problem is due to people thinking they are cute & feeding them, this has created a nightmare because they have lost their natural instincts of being afraid of humans.
But Florida has a even bigger problem than the gators, it is now overrun by pythons that people have released into the Everglades and they have multiplied like crazy. I remember a story not to long ago regarding someone who ran across a dead python… cause of had swallowed a gator. Both died 🙂

                • LOL You haven’t met a mosquito until you’ve been to northern Ontario in Canada 😉 They’re the size of birds up there. But as for people feeding gators here- you’ve got that right. People are nuts. I haven’t seen a python yet in real life, but ran across the odd diamond back who could almost pass for one. I saw a photo of a python that tried to swallow a key dear. EWWW!!

Nice to have you here Julie. Welcome to The Right Scoop!

                • Orangeone

Silly me I thought one of FL’s big problems was the # of illegals, kinda like the welfare state of MN 🙂

                • Florida does have illegals like everyone else, but not as bad, they give them green cards there. Florida’s “wet foot/dry foot”policies allows any Cuban to reside in the state legally as long as they make it to land. Their biggest problems with illegals in my opinion is the Haitians, but due to the conditions of their countries they are allowing them to stay also if they reach land. I no longer live there, I am now a proud resident of the great state of South Carolina! The home state of Tim Scott, Jeff Duncan & Trey Gowdy. 🙂

                • Orangeone

I am sooooo envious!  You also have Rep Duncan, another fine gentleman from the great state of South Carolina!  He did a fantastic job yesterday with Hitlary

          • Conniption Fitz

I grew up in the South and we swam with the gators every summer. They didn’t bother us because we swam in groups and made heaps of noise. Watch out for your dogs, ABC. Gators love’em….for lunch.

            • I know it. We don’t have a dog right now,but thankfully when this guy was in our ditch, our dog was on this side of the fence too 😉

    • Orangeone

I’ll take a drone to go please

  • Ray

Finally, a rep that gets it!

    • StandProudNow

He voted against bohner as well. 🙂 (OK, so I wasn’t thrilled that he voted for Cantor instead…. but at least it shows he has the ballzies to think for himself. I’ll be watching this Rep. Bet he will vote against the spending party bill coming up tomorrow.

And, PS. he was endorsed by none other than Gov. Palin. 🙂

      • Ray

I would say he is a TEA party-er, you know, a RINO, a Republican in name only. And good for him. Can’t wait till the TEA party is an actual Political Party!

        • StandProudNow

Dear. I know you have a weakness for cool-aid. Just stay away from the stuff that is flourescent green. It ain’t good for the brain cells. (Seems like you had some of it, huh?

          • Ray

Republicans were traditionally BIG GOVERNMENT, STRONG central government proponents FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE PARTY, in Wisconsin.
Let’s now come into the modern sense, the Republican Establishment HATED Reagan, and demanded he choose a centrist G. H. W. Bush as his running mate. They bucked Reagan for all of his eight years. Now fast forward to the last census, in Florida, the traditional republicans redrew a TRUE PATRIOT and STRONG CONSERVATIVE members district so it would be difficult for him to win, and he did not win. Now, hopefully, Allen West can do some good on getting young people interested in politics. Then, we have Boehner kicking conservatives out of leadership positions.
I would say, I have the stronger position in this SPN

        • tshtsh

Why don’t just call him a conservative Republican to differentiate him from the establishment (RINOS) since there is not an official Tea Party political party.

          • Ray

I think TEA party means conservative, RINO would indicate someone who only uses the name Republican to get elected, therefore IF the establishment IS NOT CONSERVATIVE, and never were, then a RINO would be a conservative, or better yet a Reagan conservative.

          • Ray

a good example of a Republican would be Erick Erickson, who cleared his Red State rolls of conservatives who challenged him AND Newt about supporting Scazafava in NY23 instead of the Conservative Party candidate. What did she do? She pulled out and endorsed the Democrat, which was more conservative than she. Party over Position, it is the same today, the Republicans are the roll over party, why? They believe in big government, but will promise conservatives conservatism, lower spending, closing down of EPA, Department of Education, etc. in order to get elected, but those things NEVER happen. You have to ask yourself if you are being hoodwinked.

      • TexasPGRRider

She also endorsed our new Senator Cruz and he has thanked her…We Appreciate that kind of conduct….

        • StandProudNow

We sure do! That was class on Cruze’s part!!

Called Cruze’s office last week just as a general (heart felt) appreciation salvo, and have never been met with such genuineness as from his office! While I like so far…. My eyes are wide open and scanning…

          • TexasPGRRider

I`ve emailed Cruz twice and Thornberry once. Mac`s office acknowledged right away but have yet to hear from Cruz`s people (as much as he`s been on tv I`m sure his people are busy). Maybe I`ll try a call tomorrow! We gotta let those rookies know we`re WATCHIN` and that they are in our prayers !!! So you actually talked to PEOPLE and not a recording ????

            • Orangeone

You also have Rep Stockman! Posted this on the O/T but he’s done as promised:

Rep Steve Stockman (TX) kept his promise and introduced bill to stop Barky’s executive orders! Stockman’s “Restore the Constitution Act” is intended to serve as companion legislation to Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s “Separation of Powers Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act.”

Palin has such power to find and support true Conservatives. I’m waiting to see her 2014 picks, much better than any fantasy football 🙂

  • KenInMontana

    Yep, US v.Miller strikes again.

    • You’d think after nearly 70 years seeing how well that worked out since thugs and gangs still find guns…. ah forget it.

The Pilot in the video on another thread posted today stated our case in a concise, precise, and logical manner unparalleled to date, that I have seen !!! While I`ve got your attention ABiC…Eric Burton & the Animals-“Sky Pilot”. Sky Pilots are military chaplains….

And we are THANKFUL to have YOUR PRESENCE in our collective search for the TRUTH !!!!

        • I found a great version that has Sky Pilot, Time by Chamber Brothers and Are You Experienced by Hendrix. Man, it’s 1:30 in the mornin’ and I’m rockin’ over here lol.

          • TexasPGRRider

I`d call that 3 HOME RUNS !!! Nowhere to Run just finished playin` here…takes me back to the 60s….

            • Most of this stuff is a little before my time, but used to listen to a lot of it in high school. back in the home made tape mix days 😉 Used to make some pretty good ones which my art teachers let me play during classes. That’s what I’ve been remembering half the night.

              • TexasPGRRider

                FLASH!!!! Cheap Trick-“Ain`t That a Shame” !!!!

                • Yes, that’s a good one too. 🙂 So is Surrender. 😀

                • Yes, I’ve had some paper towels handy a lot tonight with some of these songs. Why am I still up at 3 am? I’ve got tunes running through my head. OK- I’m outta here, my day starts in a few hours. Night Texas. 🙂

      • KenInMontana

Had Miller bothered to show up it could have been a much different outcome, and we’d have a much larger club (precedent wise) to beat down better than 75% of the firearms regulations and restrictions we have today.

        • Sigh. Some things never change. Thanks Ken. I always have homework to do when you’re here. 🙂

  • TexasPGRRider

In lieu of my B.O. phone, food stamps, and a welfare check, how about a .357 Glock ???

    • Here’s a nice replacement for an Obama phone. And it’s no bigger than an iPhone!

      • TexasPGRRider

Great Concept for close in-your-face confrontation !!!

        • Yep. You can get one with ported barrels so hopefully you’ll keep from goin’ deef while ventilating a perp. The titanium version costs over $700.

But it’s so loaded with awesome. I think Kel-Tec makes one that’s “about the size of a deck of cards.”

I kinda want one. Just for the coolness of the thing.

This is absolutely correct. A well regulated…..weapon for weapon!

  • What I heard him say is “We need to go into people’s homes and regulate guns and behavior there”. Sounds like the same thing that La Pier had to say a while back.

  • Jay

People forget that many of the Patriots had rifles which were technologically superior to the British muskets- slower to load but far more accurate at a longer range. 0 wants us to have muzzle loaders to protect ourselves. Has the MSM demonized Yoho yet?

  • truthonlyplz

if only all these politicians thought this way, consider Sweden, every home has a fully auto machine gun(don’t worry libturds, every home that has no previous crime convictions) and the crime rate is nearly 0, that’s right, once again the facts tell the story, more guns, less crime!!!!!!!

  • What about the medications that are being prescribed? No talk from the media on this subject. I wonder why?

  • While we are living in a very dangerous world today, the 2nd Amendment is not about having a gun for personal protection or just for hunting…. its in place to protect ourselves from government tyranny, and if our government has AR-15’s then the people deserve to own one also. If this country broke out into a Revolutionary war people better hope they have something for protection & a hand gun with 1-2 boxes of ammo is not going to do it. While the shootings that are happening are horrific & tragic..most of these type of shootings are due to mentally deranged people with problems, and this should be where the focus is. But understand…THIS government is after our guns, as soon as they can find a way to do it. They were taken back by the strong wills of the American people, as they attempted to use the previous tragedy to further that agenda, you only have to look @ how FAST they tried to push legislation through. Unfortunately there is probably going to be another one of these tragedies & our government will try again…playing on the emotions of the people. We need to treat the problem, not the symptoms.

    • greg2318

      VERY well said Julie!!!!

  • 911Infidel

The reason why we defeated the British twice is because we had citizens who were armed. When only the cops and the military have the guns, then they have the power. When citizens have guns, they have the power. The reason why that leftists want to take away firearms from the legalm law-abiding citizens is because they fear them. So long as those citizens are armed, the leftists cannot fully impliment their Marxist agenda.

  • misterlogic0013

why does Gov look into anything ? their responsibility is to protect us from foreign Governments not follow them .. lines are drawn let the fun begin ..

  • Biggbear52

Because of the actions of the Men that signed the Declaration of Independence as well as the actions of the men at Concord on April 19th 1775 that we even have a second amendment. Or military weapons for that matter. I said a couple days ago that if these Marxists idiots do want to ban assault weapons. They have to go back in time over 6200 years and remove the “SLING” from the hand of David or the ass jaw bone from Cain whom slew able. These are the fathers of the military style assault weapon and the military. With out them we would not be!

    • Rshill7

Cain killed Abel with the jawbone of an ass? No. You are confusing Cain with Samson 🙂

      • Conniption Fitz

Right – the Bible does not mention what Cain’s weapon was – it could have been his bare hands.

Cain’s sin is the Communists’ and Islamists’ (environmentalist/abortionist/pansexualist) sin – inventing your own religion/ideology and being found wrong, persecuting those who follow GOD’s Truth and Word.

Their motto – “I did it my way – and you had better do it my way too or else.”

  • Mr. Yoho, don’t become a pro bho yahoo!!!
You know the Constitution, you gave your oath to protect it – DO IT ! ! !

  • Conniption Fitz
  • MiketheMarine

[email protected], Skippy that’s what the 2ne Ammendment means.

  • kong1967

Good luck getting to the bottom of criminal gun violence. I say “criminal” because a lot of gun violence is justified if you are being attacked (self defense).

Criminals don’t obey the laws. Make all the laws you want, criminals will still have guns. Completely ban guns and criminals will still have guns. Black market. Unless you put up the great wall of China on both borders, there’s not going to be any way to stop gun smuggling….which would boom if guns were completey banned.

Disarm law abiding citizens and the only ones with guns will be the criminals.

  • Myptofvu

One thing I am curious about but have not heard anyone bring up which I think will shed some light on whether citizens should have the same arms as the military has and that is:

We know there were no Tanks in the time of our Founding Fathers but there were cannons. So was it commonplace for citizens to have their own cannons?

This does not seem like a difficult thing for historians to look into yet I haven’t heard reports of anyone doing it.

  • It’s going to piss off a lot of people but I agree with him. the true intent of 2nd Amendment is to defend against government tyranny. How do you do that when the government is way over armed?

  • “By Jove, I think he’s got it!”

  • Malkiel_kol_hakavod_la_el

Not that there is a question of that with me.. But the talk we hear today is as if there is small print or some regulatory power congress could use for regulating the right to Bear Arms…
When we should all know since maybe Junior High that a Regulation is Law!!

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be *****infringed.***** i.e. Act so as to limit or undermine.. There is no small print to look for or loop holes a Congress can not infringe on the Rights of the People or State Militia in any way….

Should libtards own Guns or I should have said insane people own Guns “shall not be infringed” but if used in crimes or in a way law does not permit that can be regulated or if you prefer can be a criminal act that has a Consequence…. I believe we have those already.. The point is Congress has never had the authority to regulate or in any way infringe on the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment…. Anyone with tenth a brain knows a President has never or should ever have the authority to infringe or legislate.

I have no issue with the background checks or even the so called cooling down period. It may help so OK.. But with each new regulation Congress had no authority to use or write in the first place they slowing infringe on the peoples ability to buy – use – Bare Arms..

That’s how we get this talk as though we are reading from a 2000 page document called the Second Amendment!!!!!
