Report: American Citizen Saeed Abedini being tortured in Iranian prison

My heart breaks for this Abedini and his family over hearing this. Just so hard to imagine being in his shoes, suffering at this level for Christ.

May God provide quick rescue of Saeed from the prison or give him comfort and peace while he’s there, in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

CBN NEWS – The American Center for Law and Justice says Iranian-American Pastor Saeed Abedini is being tortured in an Iranian prison and have filed an appeal on their client’s behalf.

Abedini is serving eight years in a brutal Iranian prison because of his Christian faith. The Iranian regime has cut the pastor off from his wife and children who live in the United States.

The ACLJ reported that Iranian officials refuse to let Saeed communicate with his family via phone and have been trying to convince him that efforts to secure his freedom have ceased.

“When I heard this from my husband, I cried. It broke my heart,” Pastor Abedini’s wife, Naghmeh, told the ACLJ.

“Behind those walls he feels helpless and relies on us to be his voice,” she said. “It is so easy to feel forgotten in the walls of the prison. Please help me make sure he is never forgotten.”

Meanwhile, the ACLJ is working with Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to urge the Obama administration to intervene on Abedini’s behalf.

Obama is going to be in the area soon. Maybe he will interject himself in this since he does here all the time. But the guy is a Christian so………………………..

    • PatrickHenrysBody

He’ll interject himself into it alright. He’ll ask if he’s dead yet.

  • NYGino

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he is used as a bargaining chip to release the blind sheikh.

  • Time for some Iranian agents to start “disappearing” around the world. We used to do that all the time during the Cold War. Kill or, better yet, capture some Iranian agents and then trade him for Abedini and his family and bring them here to the United States. This was common practice with the Soviet Union’s agents and it worked. It would also send a message to the Iranians to knock this sort of stuff off. After all, this is the only thing Persians understand, the use of force and trading. Time for a lot of both.

Someone like president Reagan would not think about it twice. Remember when he ordered the attack on Lybia in ’86? He was denied overflight right by many European countries and he still went ahead with the attack. With the current one in the WH, I won’t hold my breath.

    • PatrickHenrysBody

Why limit it to just their agents?

  • Rshill7

I haven’t heard Obama condemn or criticize, the murder, torture, beheading, imprisonment, or even crucifixion of any Christians in any Muslim country.

I have read where he would side with the Muslims though.

Is hating Obama a hate crime? If it is, then I’m guilty…and proud of it. It’s OK to hate sin. Obama is sin personified.

Call me Ishmael, but I don’t think a US President should be like that. I also don’t think he should’ve helped facilitate the reincarnation of an Islamic Caliphate or the reunification of the Ottoman Empire.

    I know…right-wing wacko. I need a hug. NYGino…you up for it?

Saeed needs an Earthly miracle or a Heavenly Home. He’s already got a Heavenly Home. Bring on the miracle please.

    • I just tweeted this a few minutes ago:

If an American Muslim was sitting in jail in some Christian country because they had tried to spread Islam, would Obama speak out?— Right Scoop (@trscoop) February 6, 2013

      • sjmom

More, he’d be begging and bowing for the release.

    • NYGino

Sure Rs, I’ll give you a virtual hug my friend. BTW, when does the Pequod sail?

      • Rshill7

        1. 🙂

        2. That ship has already sailed…and sunk.

        3. “Alucaneat” sets sail in the Spring though, albeit without sail. Grumman, center console, with 90 Mariner horses chompin at the bits. Known affectionately as “Boaty”. That’s her Christian name. She’s pining for me in dry dock up the road a ways. It’s mutual. She’s waiting to accompany me on numerous Bass and Northern Pike harvests.

I honestly have no words for how I feel for this man and his family.

I’ll join you in prayer for him.

  • c4pfan

    That is horrible. 🙁

  • sjmom

    Amen to your prayer Scoop.

The fact that the US govt has done NOTHING to help him is disgraceful. They give Egypt planes and tanks and refuse to help their own. Evil, pure evil from the pit.

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” Are you listening Barack?

  • notsofastthere

Anytime Saeed Abedini is mentioned so should Dr. Afridi’s who is tortured for helping us get Bin Ladin. Hillary and Barack don’t and never did give a damn, neither does Kerry.

  • I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
    Job 19:25

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
    Hebrews 13:6

    Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
    In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
    2 Corinthians 11:25-27

“God had one son on earth without sin, but never one without suffering.”

“Take courage. We walk in the wilderness today and in the Promised Land tomorrow.”
    D.L. Moody

While our hearts weep for our brothers and sisters who suffer, we can’t forget that this has been going on since the beginning of the church. We pray that God’s will will be done, while hoping we can see Pastor Abedini freed, yet that may or may not be God’s will for him. We can pray too that the Pastor’s witness will touch hearts of those who see this going on.

God Bless this pastor and his family. We know he’s in Your hands Lord.

    • LadyMacKeltar

Beautiful ABC. Nothing is too difficult with God. We don’t know what God’s purpose is for Saeed’s life but we have the assurance that our Heavenly Father is with him as He was with the apostles Peter, Paul and Silas.

May God comfort and strengthen Pastor Saeed and his family. Amen!

This is the true face of Mohammedanism.

Torture, tyranny, racial hate, vengeance, aggression, misogyny, brutality, rape, murder.

    • Rshill7

It’d be nice if we could somehow hack into the Koran and make it more Christian.

You know, there are many Islamic nations. Can anyone name a currently Christian Nation?

That might be because Christians stand for Life, Individual salvation. and Freedom. I still remember when the USA was like that.

My fourth grade teacher, Mrs Merrill read us from the Holy Bible every morning. Will never forget the day when with tears in her eyes, she told us she couldn’t do that anymore 🙁

      I didn’t understand at the time. I still don’t.

  • 911Infidel

Torture is state policy in Mahdi-ist Tehran. Drivel-merchants b_ch when we use waterboarding on scum like KSM. Not a word is spoken publiclyabout the atrocities in Iran by this Muslim-sympathizing administration or his media propaganda machine.

  • Sober_Thinking

He has God’s soft voice with him… I pray that brings him comfort and peace.

    So sad…

Obama did nothing over Benghazi, Ft. Hood, the doctor who helped us get Bin Laden, and several other similar things… I’d be surprised if he did a single thing to help this man… especially because Obama has nothing to gain from it.

Pray for this brave soul and his family. May God keep him safe.

    • martha chandler

      I pray he survives.

      • Sober_Thinking

        Amen… me too.

  • 27Words

There’s a special place in Hell for those who would torture someone for their Faith.

  • chatterbox365

Oh and where are those haters who made such a big stink about waterboarding??? We the USA are such horrible, torturers of the world. *eye rolling*

Pray hard for a miracle or for the Lord to take this brave man into His kingdom.

    • Sober_Thinking

      Spot on. 🙂

  • nosilasunny

There is a song: ” I know who goes before me. I know who stands behind. The God of angel armies is always by my side.” It makes my heart break that he is being treated with such evil, but I know God and his angel armies are beside him and the victory is His in the end. I will continue to pray for an extra portion of his mercy and protection for this brave man.

  • Pray for this man.

  • Ray

We need to pray for him. This is how the religion of peace treats people.

  • PatrickHenrysBody

A Christian in a radical Islamist country NOT being persecuted and tortured would be the real news.

  • bobemakk

Damn Iran to hell. This man is an innocent victim because of his Christianity. Why don’t we storm the prison where he is and rescue him and other Americans being held for no reason.
