REPORT: CNN not worried about Project Veritas undercover video…

According to the Hollywood Reporter, CNN isn’t worried about the undercover video just put out by O’Keefe starring their own producer John Bonifield:

A CNN spokesperson said the network will not be releasing a statement about the video.

A source with knowledge of CNN told The Hollywood Reporter the network is not making a big deal about the video, which is seen by some internally as merely an employee expressing an opinion about the network’s coverage, rather than revealing a bias against or for the president. The source mentioned also that Bonifield is not involved with the network’s coverage of the administration.

CNN is not expected to levy any sort of punishment against Bonifield, nor will CNN president Jeff Zucker, who is mentioned in the video, discuss the network’s coverage of Russia in the wake of the video.

While Bonifield is a senior producer, he’s apparently not involved in political news, but rather CNN’s Medical Unit. This is why CNN can argue that it’s just an employee giving his opinion who isn’t involved in coverage of the administration.

The inference, of course, is that Bonifield’s opinion isn’t worth much since he’s not involved in these type of stories.

But O’Keefe says he has more, so I guess we’ll see soon enough if he can up the ante and force CNN to care.
