Do you remember Huckabee saying Romney should repudiate everything bad he said about Trump before he gets the job of Secretary of State?
Well now Ed Henry is reporting this morning that an apology from Mitt Romney to Trump for the things he said in the primary may be in the works:
“Yesterday I spoke to a senior transition official who told me that there are discussions about the possibility — I want to underline the word ‘possibility’ — that Mitt Romney might issue some kind of public apology. A letter, a statement, some interview with somebody saying ‘I’m sorry I went too far’ in order to get this job.”
If Romney were to apologize for the way he went after Trump in the primary just to get the job of Secretary of State, it would absolutely show just how much of a politician he really is and I think he would look very bad going into the position.
Trump needs to accept or reject Romney as it stands now. An apology would just make him look weak and subsequently his administration look weak should Romney get the job.
Unless Trump just wants to humiliate Romney by getting him to apologize and then giving the job to someone else…
