Rick Perry tells Fox and Friends why he’s endorsing Ted Cruz – VIDEO

Rick Perry gave a great interview this morning on Fox and Friends where he outlined why he’s getting behind Ted Cruz, saying he doesn’t have to ask if Perry is a committed conservative because he’s always been one. And Perry says he’s convinced that Cruz is more than capable of being president, saying he knows what he doesn’t know and that’s a huge asset to have in this business.

He also defended the Senator against accusations that he couldn’t work with people to get anything done, saying that when he first became governor, he vetoed 80 bills even though people told him that’s the wrong thing to do. And as we all know Perry’s been a very successful governor.

Watch:

I didn’t catch it on video but at the very end Kilmeade noted that Perry was heading out to Iowa after the interview. So it sounds like this endorsement isn’t just a video soundbite, but Perry is going to join him on the campaign trail, which will have a bigger impact.
