RNC Chair: “If they’re gonna punch us, we’re gonna punch back with brass knuckles”

That line (in the title) epitomizes why I think Reince Priebus is the right man to lead the RNC right now. He’s a heavy hitter and he’s been swinging hard lately, and he’s doing it because he’s passionate about saving this country.

Watch the full interview because the whole thing is awesome:

  • Wow, the little guys from Wisconsin carry a BIG nightstick. BOOM.

    • PVG

      You betcha!

    • I don’t think I could ever leave Virginia, but if I did, I would go to TX or WI 🙂

      • Wmn04Ken07

Texas would welcome you Darrell. Come on down.

  • detectivedick

The LIAR is like deflating balloon, how can anyone in the entire World trust this failure and party talking about chains, killing wives and shared prosperity. I have a new found respect for Priebus, Romney and Ryan, and my check of support is in the mail.

  • Bravo Chairman someone finally fighting back. I like it.

  • Jim Botts

What a contrast this guy is compared to Michael Steele. I’d hate to think where we would be if Steele was still in charge of the RNC. His tenure as head of the RNC was a total failure.

    • Conversely, if Priebus had been head of the RNC in 2008, perhaps we would not be where we ARE in the first place.

      • But without 2008 most conservatives in the GOP might still not be aware of how their nice friends across the aisle want this country taken down. Hitting bottom , because the left is openly doing what they always intended to do, has a way of waking even the dullest of naive minds, that these people are simply evil.

Now is there anyone who is watching this modern day history show that still thinks all the Dems aren’t behind this?

Let’s not fall into the lie that Hitler did it by himself, again.

    • keninil

I wouldn’t complete crap on Steele, he did bring us the 2010 Congressional victories, he was a known voice of the party, similar to what Prebus is doing, but he left the RNC $20M in the hole.

The guy before him, Mike Duncan, who gave us the 2008 losses, I never heard a peep out of.

      • We won most of those 2010 midterm victories either irrespective of Steele’s leadership or IN SPITE OF it. He was a pathetic, weak voice for the party, and he made disastrous choices and blew a ton of money.

    • proudhispanicconservative

I second that and thats why he works for msnbc now

    • Dukehoopsfan

Mike Steele is a nice guy. He was the wrong guy in an iimportant position in 2008.

  • While I liked Michael Steele, Priebus is a breath of fresh air. It is great to have a party chairman who is willing to go toe-to-toe with the democrats.

  • HarrietHT2

He is terrific, this RNC chairman. We do not deserve him, but it is our privilege to fight along side him to reclaim an America crippled by the Communist in the WH and his pathetic cronies — emboldened by 70 years of quasi socialism. And better beware, Republican liberals (read that establishment), you are on the short list for permanent political exile.

We . have . had . it with the whole Marxist catalog of destruction. Go back to your caves and hide under the rocks where you belong.

  • Mark Smith

I saw Peggy Noonan on with Megyn Kelly and it was refreshing hearing the Reagan speechwriter scold that Reagan would have never waited days to respond to the “you killed my wife with cancer ad”, he had a temper when poked and he would have unleashed it. She said Romney should have on Day One. I’m glad they are learning, everyone was just expecting McCain again.

    • Freempg

Noonan voted for Obama and is an effete fool.

      • Mark Smith

She was also Reagan’s speechwriter (she wrote the Challenger disaster speech). And was in love with Jon Huntsman because he spoke Chinese. I said it was refreshing to hear her today because she seems to have recovered from her temporary insanity. There wasn’t a thing she said I didn’t agree with. And like it or not she is a major columnist for the WSJ, the nation’s most read newspaper.

        • Freempg

I am aware of her bonafides. She has evolved and is in the mold of the Obama pant-crease loving David Brooks.

        • PVG

I am glad Peggy is back on the reservation.

    • kong1967

That’s true, but there were even Democrats saying that the ad was despicable. Maybe the ad spoke for itself?

  • Freempg

A counter punch has little impact when trying to recover from a sucker punch to the groin. How about Obama feels the pain for a change. Why are the Republicans always on the defensive?

    • kong1967

Because the media highlights Obama’s attacks for days on end and present them as fact, while they trash conservative attacks on Obama and make us out to be liars. Obama never has to defend himself when he has the media do it for him (and they just ignore the news stories against him).

  • Gosh I am so glad a friend of mine told me about this site. What a breath of fresh air! Most notably, the people that post here are far more intelligent than those on yahoo. As for Reince Priebus, where have you been? Thank you! (I may be old and obviously not computer literate, but I finally got here).

    • Nukeman60

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride. If you follow the comment rules and be courteous, I think you’ll find it quite pleasant here. We all welcome fresh minds and new ideas.

      • nibblesyble

        I second that

      • kong1967

“We all welcome fresh minds and new ideas.”

Well, except for the drive-by liberal slander laced with Obama’s lies.

        • Nukeman60

Well, those aren’t new and hardly fresh. 🙂

          • kong1967

            True. You got me.

    • PVG

      Welcome Joseph!

    • proudhispanicconservative

Welcome to scoop my fellow patriot!!! And yes scoop is the best.

    • kong1967

Glad to have you. The more intelligent people we can get banding together to fight off the Marxist in Chief the better off we will be. Me (?)…. I’m at the lower end of the IQ levels here, lol.

      • p m

As you will see, Joseph, kong1967 is a passionate defender who loves her country, so don’t take her modest remark seriously – her posts are among the best. Welcome aboard!

        • kong1967

Oh…wow! Thank you for the compliment. You might be one of the smarter people I was referring to.

For he record, I am a dude, lol.

          • p m

Oh crikey – so sorry kong, specially since I love your posts. Mind you, as I’m a girl, hope you take that as a compliment too!
Am going to edit right after this apology, which I hope you’ll accept. Hey – thanks for the LOL – what a great GUY!!

            • kong1967

Oh yeah, I accept the apology because none was necessary. I’ve made the same mistake.

              • Nukeman60

I suspect the mistake stems from your avatar. From my observations, I’d say there are more women on this site than men (I chalk it up to them being more articulate than us – not to mention ‘the better half’). 🙂

                • kong1967

Lol, I totally forgot about my avatar. It’s so small on my screen I can’t see the details. I used to have the same avatar but it was a muscular man. I couldn’t find it so this is what I have.

Glad you reminded me to change it.

                • conservative61

Kong, may I make like courteous libertard ( how’s THAT for a contradiction in terms?) and steal your avatar?

                • kong1967

Sure. If you can lift it you can have it. I’ve been thinking about making my own or finding another because I am not a girl, lol.

              • Me too.

                Wolf, (also a guy)

                • kong1967

                  I guessed you right.

  • serfer62

“Senator Reid, I have this gift”

  • Patriot077

That’s how you do it, Reince. Great job!
Thanks for another few minutes of feel good, scoop 🙂

  • kong1967

I love this guy. We have some good people behind this campaign. Sununu, Priebus and now Ryan. We need to get Priebus and Sununu in interviews on liberal media outlets as much as possible. They can make idiots out of any liberal any day of the week.

  • p m

Thank God, a fighter. True about the only shovel-ready stuff being what comes out of the mouths of Zero and Biden. Heartbreaking to think of the lives and people done down by these bastids.

  • WordsFailMe

Can you imagine where we’d be right now if Michael Steele were still in the chair? It’s like night and day.

    • AlabamaPatriot2

Why was he selected anyway? Because he’s black? He sure didn’t do anything for the Party.

      • WordsFailMe

I don’t know about his credentials when hired, but looking at his pathetic performance, it would appear that the Republican Establishment fathers were trying to use the man’s ethnicity for political purposes.

        Short answer-YES.

        • Well, Ken Blackwell was also in the running the year Michael Steele was selected, I don’t believe it really came down to race as much as it came down to who played the sit-up-and-beg, roll-over, scratch my belly game better. In other words, Blackwell is a pretty straightline conservative. Steele is a good ole boy. Good ole boy wins, every time.

      • No, I don’t think it was “because he is black”…he was a milquetoast leader in a milquetoast party that believed in civil discourse, playing nice, backing down and going along to get along MORE than it believed in Republican or conservative principles. He was selected through politics. Horse trading. Back scratching.

  • p m

Just found this from another speech by MR in Ohio yesterday – he’s definitely finding his feet against the thugocracy. Makes for sweet reading, h/t The Ulsterman Report:

Mitt Romney used a tough new campaign speech to personally blast the Obama campaign on Tuesday, saying comments earlier in the day from Vice President Biden are “what an angry and desperate Presidency looks like.”
“Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago,” Romney said while campaigning in Ohio.
…Romney was responding to Biden’s suggestion that the GOP ticket’s economic policies would “put y’all back in chains.”
…Romney repeatedly and harshly criticized Team Obama for the remarks.
“His campaign and his surrogates have made wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the Presidency. Another outrageous charge came a few hours ago in Virginia. And the White House sinks a little bit lower,” Romney said.

“This is an election in which we should be talking about the path ahead, but you don’t hear any answers coming from President Obama’s re-election campaign. That’s because he’s intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy. And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others. This is an old game in politics; what’s different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low.”

    Hear, hear – more please.
And, did y’all see this? http://theulstermanreport.com/2012/08/14/president-dog-eater-makes-romney-dog-on-roof-joke/

  • el_polacko

maybe, while the candidate is advising the preezy to take his campaign of hate and divisiveness back to chicago, the RNC chair shouldn’t be talking about using brass knuckles. fighting back doesn’t have to mean fighting dirty.

  • Arrrggghhh

The RNC just may be waking up to the power of the Tea Party. After the 2010 elections and victories by people like Scott Walker and Ted Cruz, they may finally be moving to the right. Paul Ryan may be tangible evidence of that. For the first time in a long time, I am even considering contributing to the RNC (but I’m not quite there yet).

After attending many Tea Party events, one thing they may not realize is that there are a lot of democrats in the Tea Party ranks that are ripe for the taking. These are people that are also repulsed by the Obama Administration and the shift of the democratic party to the far left.

Two suggestions to help that shift: 1. Appeal to the private sector union members. Oppose the thuggery and corruption, but embrace people’s right to unionize if they do so in a peaceful, legal and voluntary manner. 2. Support civil unions and get the government out of the marriage business. Leave marriage to the churches.

    • WordsFailMe

      Some good thought there Arghhh.

    • redstatelady

The RNC, especially with the establishment of the Conservative Steering Committee, is back to being lead by the conservatives instead of the establishment.

    • You CANNOT support “civil unions” AND “get government out of the marriage business”. Civil unions, by definition, involve the sanction of the government and attendant benefits from the government. You can EITHER 1. support civil unions; OR 2. get the government out of marriage. It is an either-or proposition. I choose number two, how about you?

  • 911Infidel

What was that Barack The Liar said awhile back” They bring a knife, you bring a gun”. You bet ya Reince.

  • NCHokie02

    Preibus is awesome

  • We need more fighters like him. Republicans need to stop wanting to stay “above the fray.” That only gives you a candidate like John McCain, a loser. Obama and his minions are from Chicago, and they’re not known for their grace there. Never again. Hit them and hit them hard. We need to win in November and playing Mr. Nice Guy won’t get you a win.

  • Much better than Steele.

  • tinker_thinker

A better future. Yes, I like that. Good interview!

  • Priebus, Scott Walker, Paul Ryan…

These Wisconsinites are “huckleberries” for the Chicago gang-up Democrats: Bama, Plame, Axelrod, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer…

    “I’m your huckleberry.”

    • Another video for this “Tombstone” election (“I’m your huckleberry.”):

  • People are tired of the way things have gone as a result of a milque-toast campaign which McCain ran in 08. I know I can unite behind this guy. Go for the throat kind of fight, call them on every single lie they tell. Cuz when you defuse their lies, what does the left have? Nothing, well, except the race card. And please throw that obama, we’ll tear you apart. Bottom line, the left has nothing to run on. They won’t even run on obamacare. Half the country hates it and the other half has no clue what the price tag is. Love it all the way to the White House.

  • anneinarkansas

Watched it yesterday. Reinc Priebus has really energized the party which was left in tatters by Michael Steele.

  • Sober_Thinking

    I just watched this… very good! 🙂

  • Army_Pilot1967

Reince has obama’s number: This president (obama) “…has a problem with the American dream.” Oh, yeah, he’s got his number…now we have to carry the message to our family and friends to vote for Romney/Ryan on 6 Nov 12. Reince keep punching away at obama/biden because they’re crooked, phony, frauds, etc.

  • so far, after being punched, Republicans bend down, cry, and ask MSM to like them.
    WAKE UP, BOYS!!!!
Use Rush, Savage etc as your advisors!!!

  • EdHerold

Sure am glad Reince Priebus is not like Michael Steele.

  • DebbyX

Hey, my mom’s from Queens, too!

    love Reince.

  • targetdestroyed01

WELL IT IS ABOUT [email protected] TIME!!!!

We have only been waiting for this since the Carter Administration with a brief show of courage when Reagan was President.

Finally! You got it – don’t try to get along with conmen, liars and Socialist – BEAT THEM!!! DO WHAT IS RIGHT!!! Our future depends on it!!!!!!

  • Jay17145

Kick those Democrat liars back into the 20th century. Don’t worry about Biden. He’s already there.

  • neyney

Now THAT’s what I’m talking about! More of this from the RNC please! About time!!!

  • Judging by Priebus’ incompetent handling of the debates by ALLOWING ALL FOUR MODERATORS TO BE LEFT-TO-FAR-LEFT, *I’d* say the RNC’s brass knuckles are made of PLAY-DOH.

    • It doesn’t pay to reject any of the moderators for being too liberal as they would only be replaced with more liberal liberals. Reject the second set and pretty soon you just seem like paranoid ranting crybaby lunatics. There AREN’T any decent journalists to choose from that have “earned their chops” so to speak because journalism has been controlled by the left from the university upward for over 50 years, and objective journalists are weeded out early. You are asking Priebus to fight a losing battle.

    • Mtncougar

Hmmm… I don’t know… Priebus is shrewd and impresses me. He and Romney and Ryan are playing with a different deck of cards now.

“I just said it.” (Reid is a dirty liar)

I wonder if the liberal moderators are walking into an ambush.

  • chiefpayne

    Wow…I LIKE this guy!

  • Love this guy.We all need to fight like there is no tomorrow.Everyone needs to double their vote, whether it be your kids who are of age to vote but just aren’t into it or coworkers and friends.
Find two people who have never voted or voted for Obama last time and won’t this time and get them on board.Drive them to the voting booth if you have to but do it.

As for myself, I have a daughter who has never voted and a son who is busy doing other things to worry about voting plus a mother in law who is a life long Democrat who is sick of Obama. We are all going down to vote together this time out. That’s a trifecta baby!!

    • cosifantutti

I hope you live in a swing state. I could collect everyone I have ever met, convert them to sanity as necessary, transport them to the polls, pull the lever/punch the chad for Romney, and it would only be a blip on the screen in comparison to the hordes of motor voters that the Demunists can produce on the last day in my horribly blue state.

      • I am in the same boat out here in the Soviet SOcialist Republic of Washington. meh.

  • BMF

I paraphrase from the movie the “Untouchables:”

You wanna know how to get Obama? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. *That’s* the *Chicago* way! And that’s how you get Obama. Now do you want to do that? Are you ready to do that? I’m offering you a deal. Do you want this deal?

  • bflat879

His Reid comment was classic, especially when they asked him if he wanted to back-off on it and he refused. We’ll be discussing the issues, in a rational way shortly, if they keep on pointing out the lies they tell. The Democrats have been getting away with the lies for so long, because the MSM doesn’t consider them lies because they’re brainwashed too, they don’t even know they’re lying.

  • TJinNJ

This guy is a clown – Really? We need to act like the Marxists now? GOP is led by RINOS.

    • TJ did not watch the video.

      Priebus summed it up:

Obama damns the people on the block with the biggest home as “rich/thieves”.

Republicans paint the same people as “successful” and hope our kids can have a bigger and better home and future – the American Dream.

Obama dreams of the USSR where everyone is equal – except those, like himself, who are more equal than others.

      • TJinNJ

i did last night..thanks for the recap of RINO dribble.

  • ktoo

Look in the man’s eyes…look in Wasserman-Schultz’s eyes. Which means what they’re saying and which one’s a liar. Vote accordingly.

  • conservative61

Wonderful news! If Obamao’s campaign thought we’d roll over like McCain’s, he’s got another thing coming. The R&R Express is about as opposite McCain’s puny mule train as possible. A little more offense would be nice, but I expect that in due time. At least THIS campaign doesn’t run and hide under a rock like 4 years ago. Thank G-d we’re beginning to stand up to all the liberturd bullies. From experience, I’ve learned bullies don’t like that so let’s go get ’em!

  • lambfound

He’s the best thing that has happened to the RNC in a long, long time.

  • I love what he says, but he has GOT to lose the Josef G*ebbels haircut. Seriously, go to google images.

  • Wigglesworth111

    I miss Steele.

    Ha ha just kidding.

  • With Paul Ryan on the ticket, the Republicans have the power to bring the heat! (And the liberals definitely can’t stand it!)

  • TaimeAgair

Priebus and Ryan have given me hope for our side winning this time. I never thought I could have any enthusiasm for Romney or the GOP, but I can say I finally do feel hopeful. Thank you Reince Priebus for fighting back.

  • spongeblog

Obama says everything is off the table, but lies
