The Obama Administration certainly appears to be hanging Chinese dissident Chen
Guangcheng and his family out to dry – and Mitt Romney minced no words calling them out on it during a speech today in Virginia.

OK Mr. Romney! Mr. Geitner now an accomplice?

  • toongoon

Good for you Mitt, I will vote for those who stand for freedom.

  • NJK

I feel so embarrassed having that ugly man in the White House. This country’s always going to be tainted by him. He’s so dirty.

    • 12grace

Yes, and we maybe imprisoned if obama is elected again.

  • NJK

Why is Bachmann in the background? Nice VP pick???!!!???

    • Sheya

Bachmann introduced him and endorsed him at the event. The entire event is available here http://electad.com/video/mitt-romney-campaign-rally-with-michele-bachmann-bob-mcdonnell-in-portsmouth-virginia-may-3-2012/

      • Stehekin912

It deeply saddens me that she endorsed Mitt. It is one thing to support him because we have to, but it is a completly different thing to ENDORSE him, IMHO. To me, endorsement means you believe in him. IMHO, she should have just said she would support our candidate and left it at that. I will do my duty, but I do not believe in Mitt at all.

Absolutely not! I don’t have a problem with her but she has a way of putting her foot in her mouth, it would be Sarah Palin all over again.

        • Sheya

OK, what part of my comment made you think that I even remotely suggest Bachmann for VP? : )

not even good as an April fools joke

    • marketcomp

      I could go for that!

    • maynardb50

I’d like to watch the entire speech, including Congresswoman Bachmann

    • 3seven77

It saddens me to hear Michele Bachmann endorsed Romney. So much for being a tough conservative.

I hope Bachmann isn’t thinking she’s going to be VP, ’cause girl, that ain’t gonna happen.

Obama’s typically been cowardly, when dealing with the Red Chinese. Remember when he had the Daila Lama going through the back door, by the garbage, to try to appease Hu Jintao?

    • StrangernFiction

He is a coward, but I don’t think that describes his motivation in this case. They are birds of a feather.

      • crakpot

They are also borrower and lender. But I’m sure Obama wouldn’t let his own greed get in the way of individual rights.

  • marketcomp

Right on, Romney! I am so proud of him it appears that he is coming around!

  • 12grace

Just a reminder, we can only stop the evil in our country now, but getting on our knee’s.

Also on May 17th another prayer and fasting day will take place, in memory of George Washington. As he prayed for America on that date.

Romney can talk tough when the situation is obvious. He doesn’t take any real stand here either, hiding behind the skirts of “If the reports are true”. I suppose he has to be cautious because the media is always screwing up crucial details.

He’s covering two bases with one stone, to mix metaphors. He did say that he wasn’t going to be some guy who “sets his hair on fire”.

Overall, I think it was an effective, soundbite-able, critique of Obama. Romney seems to be pretty good at that. Hopefully he is pulling punches for now. I think he is, because there is so much ammo, why waste it before you are the official nominee? I don’t think Obama can withstand a face-to-face scrutiny of his record by someone who doesn’t wish to see him re-elected. I think Romney knows this. We won’t hear Romney really hit Obama until he can do it to his face, that’s my bet. I think something like that would be pretty devastating since it would be initially seen unfiltered by a huge audience.

Does that make sense? Save the real barbs for a time and place where the media, which Romney knows isn’t going to treat him fair, can’t “Tilt the scales”? We all know this is going to be an ugly campaign. Why not be nastier bastards than they are and have always been? I think it has been going well so far. Obama eats Dogs.

It’s a sad day when we have to use freedom as a political weapon. America has always been a beacon of safe harbor for political assylum seekers as well as persecuted. Dear leader, Geithner, and Clinton have been in cahoots for years with China. Geithner, a tax cheat never stepped down after dear leader appointed him. Why? I mean the other tax cheats dear leader appointed to other posts all stepped down once the news broke. Why did Geithner get a pass?
Well, he was in charge of the Federal bank for New York during the financial crisis. You’d think that this alone would ensure that he’d be investigated and gone- but no, he was still appointed to take over the treasury as a so called money genius.

Could it be that 1998-2001, he served as under secretary of the treasury for international affairs and spent time in China under the Clinton administration, and treasury secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers? Then there was his time working with the Ford Foundation, where in the early 1980s, Geithner oversaw small finance programs in Indonesia, where he reportedly met in person with Obama’s mother. Hmmmm

This stuff might not have anything to do with it, it could all just be a product of my flu induced fuzzy headed halucinations. or not. Don’t forget, dear leader had a christmas ornament of Mao on it. He loves red china, and this poor guy and millions of others like him are nothing to commies, and are delt with accordingly.

    • kong1967

So…how did Geithner meet Obama’s mother in the early ’80’s? Neither was in politics yet, and how would he remember all these years later that he met a “nobody”? I’m having a hard time grasping the odds. Maybe they’re just telling tall tales?

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Sorry kong, it was Peter Geithner who worked for the Ford foundation overseeing microfinance programs in Indonesia, which was being done by dear leader’s mom. I got them mixed up because Tim also did work for the foundation as well as worked with Kissinger Associates where his dad also worked.

        • kong1967

No prob….only Obama doesn’t make mistakes, lol.

They’re all a bunch of commie bastards as far as I’m concerned.

  • DebbyX

Whenever Romney speaks, I picture him in a boardroom with a gaggle of investors. He has that “I don’t want to p**s you off” tone in his voice. I’m sure it works well in the business world, but out here in the real world, it’s not working for him.

He desperately needs someone to poke him in the arm and tell him to toughen up. What he was saying here would have sounded like a smack down of O if he just sounded more p***ed.

    • freenca

Like an Olympics athlete in training for the big meet, you can over-train or peak at the wrong time. I hope Romney will take off the velvet gloves at the right moment and punch his way right in to the inauguration next January. He’s not my first choice either, but I have to cheer him on as the alternative is too horrible to contemplate.

      • NYGino

freenca, peaking at the right time is the common denominator of most Super Bowl championship Teams. As you say, it also applies to elections. Momentum is it.

  • freenca

BO’s team stepped in the soup. Use it Mitt ! Draw the stark contrasts of the godless O administration and the values of freedoms and liberty for all that our nations people really stand for.

    • kong1967

I must defend Obama on this one. He is not godless. Don’t forget, he worships Allah.

  • Watchman74

This is what happens when you let yourself get indebted to a Comminust country IMO, we are afraid of what the Chinese might do.

  • Arrrggghhh

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Chinese banished him to Kung Pao prison under the command of General Tso*.

    * Hot & Spicy

    • Cindy09

That would be letting things go too Mar Far for our own government!

      • Arrrggghhh

I don’t mean to belittle Mr. Guangchen’s plight in any way, but if he’s waiting for our president help him in his plight for freedom and liberty, all I can do is wish him luck – he’s truly going to need it. Sincerely, and with all due respect, he picked a very bad time to look to the U.S. for help.

His only chance is if our president sees an opportunity to further his own political prospects in helping him.

We need to remove the plank from our own eye before we can work in the splinter in China’s eye.

  • hbnolikeee

He should call this another Duh Bumbler I ran moment where he didn’t help the people of I ran.

So how did that leave the world? Maybe once his polsters determine if it will get him votes to do the right thing he will help Chen.

Notice how he helps the weak WHEN THERE ARE NO VOTES to garner.

    • kong1967

Well, I’ve always said that if the unions couldn’t contribute to politics any more the Democrats would all of a sudden have no interest in them. If people on welfare couldn’t vote the Democrats wouldn’t have any interest in them, either, and would stop catering to them.

Democrats care about two things. Power and money. The people they claim they are protecting are only tools to get them the power and money.
