Not only did they remove Santorum’s signs, but it appears they were paid to do it. Romney’s tactics are dividing the party so that no one will want to support him if he wins:

    He’s a disgrace.

    • lllllllllllllll

      Agreed…

He’ll do ANYthing to try to get elected, no matter how unethical. He IS a disgrace.

  • Leonie Alemann

In my state it’s considered larceny to remove political signs like that. Mabe MI needs that law…?

    • Rshill7

We already have that law in Michigan.

      • Major914

Glad its on video–hopefully we’ll be hearing more about it…

        • Sober_Thinking

Agreed… this needs to make national news…

      • Rshill7

Come to find out…The man in question who was paying the guy to remove Santorum signs is named Lennox. My wife recognizes him. He is not liked at all by many in the Tea Party and Republican party here in Michigan.

A year or so ago, this same guy had to step down as Drain Commissioner in Cheboygan because he was using donations for his own personal use. He wasn’t charged but he was forced to step down.

He needs to be charged this time. Paying dirtdobbers to break the law.

Romney has quite a bit of Chicago style political blood coursing through his veins doesn’t he?

        • las1

Leftist and liberal behaviours rising to the top. t’s unthinkable that a conservative would do this. Romney’s liberal patina is showing.

          • John Galt

            I know, right?

It’s leftist and liberal behavior that would litter signs in the right-of-way, which is against the law.

It’s against the law to post signs on property without the property owner’s permissions.

          • John Galt

            I know, right?

This was not at all the point in this report.

    • sDee

The law means nothing to elitists like Romney. The entire Administration, DOJ, all the Departments, and 2/3rds of Congress are breaking the law. What are a few signs stolen by minions of our tyrant in waiting?

      • lanahi

Hey, Mitt’s probably putting more people to work than the Obama administration!/sarc

Now we know how he’s spending all those millions in all the states. Spread it around so everyone else knows too!

      • Sober_Thinking

Sadly, you’re right. This still needs to be exposed.

      • John Galt

Apparently, the law means nothing to elitists like Santorum and his campaign, either.

It’s illegal in Michigan to place signs in the road’s right-of-way. And it’s also illegal to put signs on property without the property owner’s permissions.

If this were really a situation, you’d have video of someone filing a complaint with the cop who’s at the end of the video. No such video exists – it’s much ado about nothing.

    • Sober_Thinking

And the police sit by and let it happen… unions helping Romney perhaps? Shame.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/W3R57MQ7I2ZZCOUFM56B6CN3C4 unsatisfied

Or the signs were lawfully removed?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1395564791 Monte ‘Andrea Regan’ Blachford

Please, no more laws! Enforce the ones we have that protect liberty, repeal those that don’t.

    • John Galt

In our state it’s illegal to place signs on property without permission of the property owner, and it’s also illegal to place signs in road right-of-ways.

If someone had a legitimate complaint, i’m sure there’d be more video at the end of the cop with someone filing a complaint, but no video exists.

    Follow that guy

    I would press charges

    • TPDanbo

I would’ve BEAT THE CRAP out of them!!!

      • Sober_Thinking

That would have guaranteed 1 million+ hits on youtube – a little justice.

    • John Galt

Or the signs were removed legally because 1) they were in the road’s right of way – illegal in Michigan, and 2) they were placed on property without the property owner’s permission.

  • Boxofteabags

I made a new sign today ABOoR2012 anybody but Obam or Romney.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

what an A$$! I hope mittens loses worse than dear leader. He ought to move to Chicago and open up shop with dear leader, holder, ayres, andy stern and all the rest of the thugs, because he would fit in SO well.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tom-Camp/1608442478 Tom Camp

Back in 2004 someone stole the Bush signs that I had put in my yard. My yard, mind you, not on the street. I thought only liberals did this. Oh wait ….

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Come on Michigan don’t fall for Romney’s tactics!!

    • c4pfan

Sigh, I know. This needs to be spread out in the news!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000679899592 John Bohler

You think the Lame Stream Media will even give this a glance?

        • c4pfan

At least places like Malkin’s site or Mark Levin’s show?

          • Sober_Thinking

Good point… those two (and Rush and perhaps Hannity) will spread the word around.

  • stage9

Well, folks, he IS A LIBERAL, what else would you expect from a liberal?

    • hbnolikeee

Not only does he steal like a liberal he campaigns the same way. He spends a fortune on smear and offers no substance.

      • Sober_Thinking

        Just like Maobama is doing…

  • Maxsteele

How can anyone support Romney with these type of tactics? This is absolutel disgusting. If he had a modicum of morality he would come out and say he had nothing to do with this and fire every single one of those guys to hide his guilt.
If Romney wins then it will show there is a serious need for a 3rd political party in America because there is nothing seperating the Republican party from the Democrats.

    • TPDanbo

It’s funny but the Romneybots would’ve just ignored you if you told them about this, but if those were Romney signs LOOOK OUT, much the same as Democrats!

    • Is_Sense_Common

Problem is, it’s never Mittens’ doing – his hands are always clean.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1462246106 Bob James

It wasn’t Mitt..it was his SuperPAC and we know they aren’t coordinating…..

        • Is_Sense_Common

          Yes. That would be illegal…

        • falling321

Sounds like the same old excuses we get from Obama….nothing is EVER his fault either! Romney is in charge of his campaign…this was a campaign stop, not a super PAC stop…Romney is the one who must answer for this!

          • Sober_Thinking

It’s funny, when Romney looks in the mirror, it’s Maobama’s reflection he sees.

    • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Ozzie

ahem….I think you mean “an emoticon”.

    • Sober_Thinking

There already is a HUGE need for a 3rd party… (Tea Party)

      • Maxsteele

I agree. Time to make it official.

      • Maxsteele

I agree. Time to make it official.

  • jollyjellybean

    Oh boy.

  • Susanna958

How scummy can you be? We already have a Pres. like that.

  • ApplePie101

    Removing signs? How Obamaesque.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Gingrich gave a good interview with his friend Hannity… He said, Romney campaign wants to shrink everyone else, as opposed to growing Romney. I wish people could see through their tactics. This is why keeping this process going is good thing for conservatives, the more people learn about Romney the more they dislike him.

    • falling321

Too true…and we didn’t like him all that much BEFORE we found out he thinks running negative ads and stealing his opponents signs is the best way to win an election!

  • JoelDick

Now we know how Paul does it:

    http://xkcd.com/1019/

  • Cindy09

Power hungry!! By all means, we will throw you out of the race. You have neither class nor honor, Mr Romney!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Frank-Seauvant/100000313658168 Frank Seauvant

Goes to show you who Romney is and was and always will be!!!

  • MortimusMaximus

    Jimmy Bleep………dat you?

  • JoelDick

You gotta feel bad for Romney. He didn’t think it would be this hard to win the nomination. He thought he’d sail right through. He didn’t expect that his opponents would actually get attention.

    • c4pfan

He should have gotten the clue the first time.

  • M_J_S

I’ve taken a lot of flack for opposing Romney even if he’s the nominee-here’s yet another reason.

This is what this guy is all about people. Right out of the pages of Chicago politics.

    • TPDanbo

It’s no wonder beacuse Romney is Obama’s brother from another mother!

    • sDee

Flak means you are directly over the target.

  • Stehekin912

All the more reason to not vote for Mittens

  • Patriot077

You’re right, Scoop. He keeps running his campaign like the guy in the WH ain’t nobody going to vote for him.

  • http://shelfreliancedenver.com/team/katy/ katy

This is exactly why he’s Obama lite.
Same dirty, desperate tactics, different party.

He can’t run on his record. He can only destroy his opponent.

    What a schmuck!

  • jzaik

I’m sure that this is just a mistake. Flip Rominee is a man of impeccable character. There’s NOOOOOOOO way that he would do something like this knowingly. He doesn’t attack people personally and he doesn’t resort to sleazy tactics like this.

Flip Rominee is a consurvative’s conservative. We need to elect him because he’s electable.

    Rominee/Granholm 2012!

In all seriousness, this is the kinda crap democrats do. We had such an incident in my neck of the woods last midterm:

    • Is_Sense_Common

He’s a severe conservative. Just ask him; he’ll tell ya all about it!

  • http://twitter.com/nickmarschel straw man

I follow several Romney supporters on twitter. They almost never tweet anything positive about Romney. Plenty of tweets trashing Newt and Santorum though.

    • Is_Sense_Common

What could they say? “Wow, he’s got great hair!” “Oh, he looks so Presidential.” That’s about all he’s got.

  • hbnolikeee

    it could have been pelosi.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kini-AlohaGuy/100000519123571 Kini AlohaGuy

Yup! This is Romney! No original thought, no ideas, except the ones he steals, and a panderer for votes.

  • http://twitter.com/shelly99032 Shelly Sands

You know this garbage is really making it hard for me to go kicking and screaming to vote for this tool if he winds up our nominee. This is tactics of the left and disgusting!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BX6ROP3X36W6OQV7EQ5VGNFOFE RCL

Then grow a pair and just say No!

The GOP is worthless because of liars like Romney. Dying slowly of a thousand small cuts isn’t much better than being run over by Obama.

      • JRD1

Amen. The GOP establishment’s motto is “Better a Democrat than somebody who is not one of us!” A conservative will never win the GOP nomination again if we give in and vote for Romney. Well, I for one am adopting their motto, “Better a Democrat than someone who is not a conservative like us.” Two can play their stupid game. The GOP establishment needs conservatives to get their squish over the finish line. No mas! It’s over. No more conservative money to the RNC and no more conservative votes for RINO’s.

Is Mittens reading from the Obama Book of Thuggery and Intimidation?

  • falling321

If possible, press charges. If he took off with the signs he is actually stealing private property. I bet the treats of a few nights in jail will get him talking!

  • falling321

I hope this goes viral…should cut into Romney’s vote a good bit! He seems to believe his negative ads and illegal activity will win him the presidency…we CANNOT allow this to happen! If you live in VA, there is a movement to vote for Ron Paul so that Romney will be denied the delegates…then we will vote for the GOP nominee in the fall, because ANYONE is better than Obama!

    • mike payton

I’m having a harder and harder time believing that Romney really is any different from Obama. They’re both elitist snobs out for themselves at all costs.

  • CGpatriot

Gives to wonder why Romney is called the “the mini me of Obama”? Because he’s no different then the left. Funny how Mittins is so comfortable going all out against he’s fellow Conservatives and smearing them into the ground….but, God forbid if Romney dare calls Obama out, much less– a Socialist.

Gotta wonder, just who’s side Mittins is on– the RINO’s! Nuff said:

    • Trust1TG

      Romney is pathetic.

Mitt Romney most definitely did not pay anyone to take down the signs. The property owner who owns the property that had the santorum signs also had the cars of people attending the romney event towed.

Can’t wait for the Drudge Headline: Romney campaign pays illegal Mexican to take down Santorum’s campaign :-)

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YEQE2XP46AVVGFYICSH4R3CNV4 rrtrack

do you really think they will say that when there is no proof? The guy plainly said it was his job to keep the area clean. How do you know the building owner doesn’t employ him and didn’t want those nasty signs on his property? I can tell you right now I would immediately remove any santorum signs off my property. Maybe the business owner should file a complaint against santorum for putting his signs on his property without his permission. Maybe THAT is the real story. No way of knowing though, is there? And the media might like to spin, but they aren’t going to outright lie and say the Romney campaign paid an illegal mexican to take down signs. ;-)

      • Trust1TG

Santorum is a really good guy.

However, your guy Romney lied seven times on the stage at the last debate in front of 5 million people. Romney’s ads are lies and smears.

Romney would not be having a hard time if he were a decent human being.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YEQE2XP46AVVGFYICSH4R3CNV4 rrtrack

You people are pathetic. So many variables. #1 those signs were on private property, how do you know that owner just plain didn’t want the signs of a sniveling hypocritical liar on his property? #2 No one said they got paid to take down the signs, he said “it’s my job”. He may or not be getting paid, he may have been an employee of the property owner – after all he said it is his job to keep the area clean and he picks up litter, etc. #3 and person can say anything, you have no proof of anything. YOU ARE, HOWEVER, PART OF THE PROBLEM with this pathetic attempt to slander Mitt Romney. Anyone with any shred of intelligence will see it for what it is – DESPERATION ON YOUR PART!

    • Trust1TG

“sniveling hypocritical liar” “pathetic attempt to slander”

Projecting the (proven) characteristics of your guy onto others. Sign and symptom of psychological problems…consistent with what we encounter from Romney supporters on every blog…though a lot less effluent than some of your guys.

      • B-Funk

I’ve kinda been on the outside of all of this because of my busy life, but I gotta know something… Is it just me, or are Romney supporters starting to act like Paulnuts?

    • CGpatriot

Oh’ save your sermon– Romney gets no passes on this. Typical attitude from a Romney supporter. The all knowing, speaking in term’s of projection to deflecting, flip flopping remarks, mixed with insults, blaming other’s and completely full of crap!!!

Sum’s Romney up to a tee.

BTW: talk about desperation, and who’s removing sign’s………..?

    • NCHokie02

I think if they were just removing signs because it was personal property they would have said so. Why would they have kept quiet about that?

Property owner: “Ok, I want you guys to remove all these Santorum signs. If anyone asks you why you are doing it don’t tell them it’s because I don’t want those signs on my property. Make something up and avoid answering the question. Got it? Good.”

Who does that? Thats an irrational thought of all the things you just said. If it was the property owner and the other two putting up Romney signs had no knowledge about what was going on then why didn’t they just say, “I don’t know what they are doing. They aren’t with us.” What would have been the harm in that. People don’t hide innocent behavior with lies. Its just not what people do.

An immediately jumping to insults “sniveling hypocritical liar” makes you sound like the left. Use your big boy words to explain yourself. I mean Romney’s flip-flops couldn’t be construed as being a “hypocritical liar” either, could they???

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZIL4KEDI7TFBKNUDAIWWYOA4CM Larry Gibby

  • welovetruth

    IT LOOKS TERRIBLE!!!
and who doubts if our guy from the Santorum camp did that, what the whole world would be talking about for a week!!!!!!!!!!!
but in all fairness if you are preparing for an event across the street i thing its appropriate to temporarily take them down till the event is over.
i thing it wold be disrespectful to the candidate to show up to a Santorum flood of signs, and bad taste.
It’s only my opinion, but i believe any campaign can safely assume that the other side would surely understand. It is especially so if the opponent is the class act himself Rick Santorum!!! I think it is not so if the opponent is of the thin skinned persuasion, like Newt or Obama!!!

    • wodiej

comparing Newt to Obama…that explains alot about you.

  • http://www.facebook.com/adamgraham Adam Graham

I’m somewhat cautious about this video and I’m a big time Santorum backer. I get the sense that there’s some back story here that we may be missing particularly in the relations between the Romney Supporter, the Santorum supporter, and the police officer. Would like to see some more reports and more depth before running with this. But it does look terrible

  • Been_There_BT

Wish I had a nickel for every political sign I ever put up that was torn down. This kind of thing has been going on forever and every campaign does it. It’s just politics. Goes to show you how worried Romney is about losing Michigan to Santorum if people are being paid to do it. I got more important things to get upset about. We defeat Romney on the issues.

  • sandynsavannah

  • Sober_Thinking

This has become ridiculous. I realize we’re talking about politics and politicians and I’m not so naive as to believe that some of these antics don’t go both ways… but seriously… on the surface this makes Romney look like a complete and total dirtbag. Combine that with his less-than-honest campaign commercials, his abuse of 2008 Santorum robocalls, and other mud-slinging and it all but prooves it.

If we have a candidate that is no better than Maobama… someone who holds himself to a higher standard, then America has already lost and this country is finished. Romney must now be defeated too – at almost any cost. He’s hardly any better than Maobama.

  • denbren52

This is very sad. If this happened within another party or in another state, I wouldn’t care. But this is my state and my party and it’s not a place where this kind of crap is tolerated. The guy in the video should be arrested and the campaign should be fined.

And Romney needs to publicly denounce this tactic and fire his state campaign director.

    SCOOP:

I urge you to do what most media outlets NEVER do and follow up with this story. I can’t imagine that someone with enforcement authority will not see this or get this and not press charges. I urge you to give us viewers a follow up to this in the future. Especially if Mittens responds to it.

His campaign is becoming “The White Panthers” of this election.

Mitt Romney apparently found a way to create one job in his 59 point plan for economic recovery. Now some may correctly argue that what this guy did was illegal, I wonder if the cop was too busy to enforce the law?

  • 2ndMarDiv

Mittens sure acts like a liberal RAT, doesn’t he?

  • RosiesSeeingRed

Romney disgusts me. This speaks of his lack of integrity. How much you want to bet if this goes viral and he’s questioned on it, he’ll plead the 5th and blame it on his SuperPAC, like he always does. Speaking of which, this is a very interesting article exposing another of Romney’s lies in which he claimed Newt won SC because he outspent Mitt on negative ads:

    http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree.blogspot.com/2012/02/romney-pro-romney-superpac-negative-ads.html

    • John Galt

People who jump to conclusions disgust me. This speaks of their lack of integrity.

      1) It’s illegal in Michigan to place signs in the road’s Right of Way.
      2) It’s also illegal in Michigan to place signs on other people’s property without their permission.

The fact that the cop appears at the end of the video illustrates these signs were legally removed. If they weren’t, we’d also be seeing video of a criminal complaint being filed.

      • David Casey

        ….there you go again.

  • wodiej

How juvenile. I also heard the DailyKos founder is paying people to vote for Santorum in Michigan. None of this sordid business surprises me given all the corruption and low importance on values in the state.

  • wodiej

Ok, so the headline says “it appears they were paid to do it.” There is no proof. And if this is private property, you cannot put signs up without property owner’s ok. If there was a Romney event that does not mean you can put his signs up either or take someone else’s down.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tim-Street/626890276 Tim Street

That’s enough to piss me right off. F Mittens, and his underhanded sneaky tactics. This will make a Santorum victory all the more swee.

  • EchoMike

Looks like like Romeny supporters have been getting lessons from the Ron Paul supporters. Dirty tactics.

  • pdx73

How dare he? That is suppression of political speech. If that’s the sort of conduct Romney and his supporters approve of, he’s lost my vote forever. I’ll write in Newt’s name this November if Gingrich is not on the ballot. I will never vote for Romney after this.

    • John Galt

Yeah, how dare it be illegal in Michigan to place signs on other people’s property without their permission! That’s censorship! Down with the MAN!

The fact that the signs are in the road’s Right of Way is also illegal in Michigan.

And the appearance of the cop at the end of the video kinda indicates the signs were legally removed. If not, we’d see video of a criminal complaint being filed.

      • David Casey

…and all this debate will bring gas prices down how? Or put millions back to work how?

You guys are pathetic. Lets attack the signs! Yea, that’s gonna work. We can hire a million sign removers, thats the ticket. Then use the torn down signs as fuel. Yup, that should help as an alternative fuel source. WoW. Amazed at the intelligence here.

Really, stick to the needs of the country. Debate those things. Who gives a rats @ss about stupid signs. So sick of some of you. You really, really don’t get it…..

Divide and conqur. Alinsky all the way…..

  • Mike Soto

I know these guys the company they work for have a private contract in the public works department. I talk to the owner of the property that the signs were in front of he called the public works department to have them removed because legally they were on the twnship portion of the property. No I i not a romeny fan or a santorum fan but ignorance i bliss and hype out of nothing what happened to real journalism these days?

Your grammar stinks and makes it difficult to grasp your meaning.

      • John Galt

Well, let me clear that up. The signs were illegally placed.

Placing signs on property without the owner’s permission is illegal in Michigan. So is placing them in the road’s Right of Way.

The appearance of the cop at the end kinda illustrates this was a legal removal. If it wasn’t, we’d see video of a criminal complaint being filed. No video, no people being arrested, then there’s really no problem here.

    RS,

Nobody wants to support Romney now and I think the GOP has finally come to the conclusion we cannot be forced to support someone we do not want and they cannot win if they do not have our votes. Let’s see what they do with this now that they are beginning to see the light.

  • Chris Egbert

This just looks bad for Mitt and even if it was public or private land. And just like the polls, Santoum was leading in the signs that were put that stretched down the road

  • Szary1

Yup, A TOTAL DIRTBAG!! The only way this excuse for a Republican can advance his cause is at the expense of the others and by putting others down! Do you see any difference between the likes of slimy Romney and Obama??? Answer NO, NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL! What a slimy disgusting individual and candidate! I can’t wait to see him lose the primary!!

    • John Galt

Wow, I guess only a dirtbag would jump to conclusions too. If signs are placed in the Right of Way, like these Santorum signs are, then they were illegally placed.

You see the cop at the end of the video. If there was any kind of legitimate claim that the signs were being “stolen” we’d have video of a criminal complaint being filed. All we see is the video abruptly ends.

      Yup, a TOTAL DIRTBAG.

        Waiting…..

  • rhaskins

First, I must say I am a Santorum supporter from Michigan. If you look, the Santorum signs are placed in the Right-of-Way. (The division between public and private property) It is against Michigan law to have political signs in the R.O.W. The line that delineates the R.O.W. is the property line that usually is at the back of the sidewalk. Romney has his signs in the right place. However, there is a Michigan law that states that only Michigan Dept. of Transportation employees are allowed to remove any political sign from the R.O.W. The man removing the signs obviously not with MDOT and this should be investigated further as to if this man was paid for by the Romney people. If that is true, they should also have to be reprimanded for this unlawful action.

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Thanks for the info rh!

    • John Galt

There is no Michigan law that only MDOT can remove these illegally placed political signs. (I’d love to see MCL otherwise). Think about it – most of the roads (and thus ROW) are not maintained by MDOT. They’re maintained by local DPWs.

The law simply designates that signs may not be placed in Right of Ways because it can pose a traffic hazard.

If it’s deemed the signs are there illegally, then it would be perfectly okay – under the direction of local law enforcement or the local DPW – to remove the signs.

This video is gotcha journalism and much-ado-about-nothing.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/W3R57MQ7I2ZZCOUFM56B6CN3C4 unsatisfied

I hope RS will post a correction if it is learned that the Santorum sign were lawfully removed. The police were there and were not going to sit by while signs were illegally removed. My bet is that the property owner asked to have them removed or that Santorums signs violated local ordinance. Romneys signs are located away from the road where Santorum’s are not. It is easy to cry ‘foul’ without all of the facts.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

  • http://twitter.com/politicalsplash Political Splash

I’m sure this story will be on Drudge any day now. Look, I’m holding my breath.

    • John Galt

Yeah, when anyone sees the cop at the end of the video – and knows that signs in the right-of-way are illegal in Michigan, and placing signs on private property are also illegal, then it’s clear this is much ado about nothing.

It’ll get reported by those who want to trash Romney or enhance Santorum. But it’ll also show the lack of credibility of the person playing it.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

Don’t listen to the bozo John…he has ZERO idea what the right-of-way is!

  • Syd_Valen

All of you are assuming that Mitt Romney himself is behind this and ordered it. Do you know if that is true, or are you just assuming? My guess is that Romney was not aware of it – he is busy stumping and prepping for the Debate tonight. At least give him some benefit of the doubt, after all, here in America, a person is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

the santorum signs look like they were in front of a public building not a private owner in the first few seconds of the video.

  • http://www.facebook.com/wade.hudgins Wade Hudgins

Mannequin Mittens stealing Santorum signs, now that is bad!

    • John Galt

And the Mannequin Santorum stains placing signs illegally in the right-of-way? And on property without the property owner’s permission?

The fact the cop at the end of the video didn’t do anything seems to imply these signs were legally removed.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

Please explain which side is the right-of-way…this we gotta hear!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZIL4KEDI7TFBKNUDAIWWYOA4CM Larry Gibby

Those signs were not paid for by Romney but by someone else and they’re private property. Removal is up to the owner, not some politically driven dildo working for Romney. Those sign were in the parking which is usually city property and I’m sure they didn’t call about the signs. Simple case of theft. The actions of the two dirtbags speak loud enough.

    • John Galt

      Interesting that you’d say that.

Placement of those signs on someone’s property is also up to the owner. When you put signs on my yard without my permission you’re breaking the law. It doesn’t matter if you “own” the signs. You just littered my yard.

Also, they were placed in the road’s right-of-way. That’s (also) illegal in Michigan.

The fact that the cop at the end of the video didn’t do anything seems to imply these signs were legally removed.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

Bozo! Which side of the road is the right of way? The one going to the left when on the south side of the street or the one going to the left when on the north side of the street? Or better yet, the one going right when on the west side or the one going right when on the east side?

  • http://evilbloggerlady.blogspot.com/ Evi L. Bloggerlady
  • DebbyX

That cop should lose his job.

    • John Galt

Or the signs were legally being removed.

Think about it – is the videographer so dumb that he couldn’t call up the police department or go file a criminal complaint in person, with video in hand?

Since the signs were placed in the road’s right-of-way (illegal in Michigan), their removal is legit. And it also seems the signs were placed on property without the owner’s permission (also illegal in Michigan). So……

      • DebbyX

So, what? If the removal is legit, then the guy removing the signs would have said so. And saying that it “seems” they were placed on property without the owner’s knowledge, is pure conjecture.

  • http://twitter.com/JoyRoney Joy Roney

    Oh My,

How shameful. Michigan’s “favorite son” does not seem to believe that the rules/laws of the land apply to him.

    • John Galt

How shameful. Santorum does not seem to believe that the rules/laws of the land apply to him.

The signs were placed in the road’s right of way – which is illegal in Michigan.
The signs were placed on property without the owner’s consent – also illegal in Michigan.

If the sign’s “owners” had a claim, we’d see video of them filing a police report. It’s more likely that those signs were lawfully removed and this video is much ado about nothing.

Even if one cop was complicit, it just takes calling up the police department or sheriff to go file a criminal complaint.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

Nevermind this turkey named John Galt…his new residence is now China, due to spin!

  • John Galt

Umm, those Santorum signs were in the right of way. And it didn’t look like they had the permission of the property owner there. Both of which are illegal.

The shots with the cop at the end kinda shows this is much ado about nothing.

  • John Galt

Well, that looked like those signs were in the right-of-way. And it also looked like they didn’t have the permission of the property owner.

The shot with the cop at the end of the video kinda illustrates that this is much ado about nothing. If they were “stealing” signs, a report would’ve been filed with the officer – on video.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

Careful! You spin that much you may reach China!

  • John Galt

Well, that looked like those signs were in the right-of-way. And it also looked like they didn’t have the permission of the property owner.

  • RosiesSeeingRed

Maybe the moral of the story is that Romney has been caught in so many blatant lies in debates, has used blatant lies in attack ads, and basically has upped his own negatives with dirty politics, that when a story like this comes out, it’s easy to believe it’s sinister in nature, even when it’s not.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFGTNEKQQCXQZHLQ7EM72Q37E Michael Bittner

Huh? Your logic just made my head hurt!

      • RosiesSeeingRed

Well, there seems to be some differing opinion that the signs were illegally placed and were being legally removed, followed by anger that we had all jumped to conclusions that Romney was behind it. I’m suggesting that if this was all legal, maybe the reason why we believed Romney could be behind the illegal removal of those signs is because he’s not a man that many of us trust.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jaspersilvis Jasper Silvis

Yo! Can you send me some of those Santorum signs for my front lawn? Thanks. Ask Romney to expense the shipping.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001592448550 Hugh Smith

The girls at play…… Vote Ron Paul. The only man in the field that was in the military. Santorum’s son John is 18 why has he not heard the calling to defend this country if Daddy said America is under threat??

    • http://www.facebook.com/jaspersilvis Jasper Silvis

Not another one! I hate that argument. My dad served in the Marine Corps but I chose not to serve. I instead decided to become an aerospace engineer and join the design team for the V-22 Osprey in the mid-90s. I was specifically on the team that designed the aft fuselage skin/stringers and the upper crew escape hatch. I was involved in its design, static testing, and flight testing before changing careers to IT. Now I write the software that the engineers use to design aircraft. So did my actions not help the military? Did I really need to serve to play my part?

What really gets me is that people like you think that parents send their kids to the military. Our military is volunteer only, the way it should be. People who are told to serve do not serve as well as people who choose to serve. That is the #1 reason why the American military is far superior to any military on the planet.

If Rick’s older son, John, does not want to serve in the military, then I hope he does not. He can still serve his country well by not being a burden to it: get a job or start a business, live within his means, get married and start a family, raise his children to love America, give as much as possible to charity to help the less fortunate (money and volunteer time). You do not have to serve in the military to be an asset to America.

The only people who should be shamed are those who “choose” to TAKE from America, like people who are on unemployment for more than 6 months, people on welfare that have the ability to work a second or third job, people who claim social security who have plenty of money in investments, etc.

Don’t shame Rick or his son for not serving in the military. They can serve America well in may ways. Rick sure has.

Ron Paul being in the military does nothing to sway me to his camp.

  • gespin3549

That’s the type of scum Romney is turning out to be. If he can’t play fair before he is elected imagine how “fair” he’ll be afterwards! Childish and immature behavior on the part of Romney and his loser supporters.

I don’t care if they were “lawfully” removing the signs. If that were the case, they should have pointed that out when the guy was asking “why are you taking down the signs”. That would have been super-simple.

As I said, I don’t care if they were “lawfully” removing the signs. I don’t care if the signs were not supposed to be there. I am NOT voting for Mitt Romney – not in the primary and not in the general election. Don’t like it? That’s just too damn bad.
