Rubio calls Trump TOUCHY, INSECURE, says he can’t have more than a 10-sec soundbite on any issue

Rubio just fired back at Trump and I can’t disagree with anything he said:

WASHINGTON TIMES – Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said Thursday that 2016 GOP rival Donald Trump is a “touchy,” “insecure” guy unfamiliar with key issues and prone to simply lashing out when things aren’t going his way.

“Well, first of all, he takes shots at everybody who gets anywhere close to him in terms of a poll, or anytime he hits a rough spot. That’s what he does,” Mr. Rubio said during an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio.

“He had a really bad debate performance last week, he’s not well-informed on the issues — he really never talks about issues and can’t have more than a 10-second sound bite on any key issue,” Mr. Rubio said. “And so I think he’s kind of been exposed a little bit over the last seven days, and he’s a very touchy and insecure guy. So that’s how he reacts, and people can see through it.”

Trump, as he continually shows us, is very touchy. But he’s admitted as much so it’s not a surprise really. Trump always says if you like him he likes you. He’s just that kinda guy.

And Trump really is a 10-second soundbite, though he makes it 20 seconds by repeating himself. But he never goes in depth on any issue. But that may not be a bad thing for the voters who don’t want details. I think that’s one thing that’s actually working for him among his fans. He says what he wants to do in simple terms and says he can do it, and that’s good enough for them.

It remains to be seen whether that is good enough for the plurality of Republican voters. Rubio has a lot of depth and that is attractive. But he has his issues to, the big one being immigration and a path to citizenship.

Listen to Rubio’s interview below where he goes into this and much more, including his floppity-flip on immigration. The Trump part begins at 6:45 and after that is the rest.

As an aside, I’ll tell you my thoughts on immigration. If we ever get the border secured to stop the flow of illegal coming into this country, whether by plane or on foot, I might be more compassionate in dealing with the illegals already here. I might be, but I’m still thinking it through.

But I can tell you where I do draw the line. Voting. I will never be for a path to any legalization that includes voting. Never. No citizenship. Not 10 years down the road as Rubio suggests, not ever. Just not going to happen. Democrats can call them second-class citizens and pour on the waterworks. I don’t care. There MUST be a penalty for coming here illegally and if we can’t deport them and they must remain, it will be in a legal status that will never have voting rights.
