Rubio says if he could do it over again, he wouldn’t attack Trump on the personal stuff and said he’s not really proud of that:

If you can’t watch the video, here’s a synopsis:

NBC NEWS – Marco Rubio said Wednesday he’s “not entirely proud” of his personal attacks on Donald Trump and wouldn’t have launched them if he could do things over again.

“In terms of things that have to do with personal stuff, yeah, at the end of the day it’s not something I’m entirely proud of. My kids were embarrassed by it, and if I had to do it again I wouldn’t,” he said in a town hall airing Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on MSNBC.

Rubio, however, insisted at the MSNBC town hall Rubio said he had no interest in playing second fiddle for Trump or any other GOP candidates.

“I’m not looking to be anyone’s vice president,” Rubio said.

Pressed directly if he would turn down the chance to be on Trump’s ticket, Rubio said, “absolutely.”

Rubio insists that it was necessary to go after Trump, but regrets he let it get too personal.

I agree. While some liked it a lot, I never did and I’m glad he’s admitting that now.

It honestly sounds like he’s trying to repair any damage he’s done to himself while he still has this megaphone, before he completely drops out.
