Rush Limbaugh says social media ‘LIKES’ will be more important than POLLS…

El Rushbo almost seemed to be making excuses for why Trump keeps posting Drudge polls instead of real polling in this segment where he starts yelling that polls are unimportant and social media “likes” are the wave of the future.

Watch below:

Here’s the absurd article he mentions as “evidence” for his assertion:

It goes on to list a bunch of anecdotal evidence from Twitter, but it really doesn’t prove anything except that Trump has a lot of fans on social media. SO what?

Rush is looking at polling only as a source to influence people’s opinions, and not as an actual indicator of people’s opinions. In that respect, perhaps he’s right, but the main function of polls is tell us what people think, not to tell US how to think. But he’ll be correct if more people put stock in Twitter than in scientifically valid polling, and it appears that we are indeed getting to be that stupid.
