Rush says he is sick of hearing all the whining about negative ads and specifically calls out Newt to stop whining about them because this is nothing compared to what the left will unleash in the fall.

Also, he doesn’t believe for a moment that Romney will take on Obama with negative ads like he is Newt.

Rush is another polarized oblivious far right conservative that doesn't have a clue along with Palin, Hannity and Cain. Educate yourselves with the truth against Newt Gingrich, who is no different from Obama's ideologies. I feel that Rush and Hannity want Newt because his anticipated failure as president would bring ratings to them in the conservative media.

Rush is on the side with Newt,as his advice has shown he wanted Newt to better than Romney,by articulating Conservative values, well, Newt had done it.Rush should should be man enough to openly support Newt, and stop being hidden. This is about the greater good of the country, and for great analyst like Rush,he should know the Chameleon and disgusting colors Romney bears.

Talk radio folks and Columnists just can't seem to resist pulling back from time to time to give the appearance of having not been totally against someone. Even Rush "goes there" once in a while.

I think a little switch goes off one day and they think, "wait a minute, I need to sound like I'm being really responsible and diligent here, so I'd better back off a bit and reposition." Or something. The worst ones are more like Beck and appear to just be all over the place.

It's not an easy job they have, growing and keeping an audience. If you get a rep for being a one-trick-pony type broadcaster, even your loyal listeners will get bored.

klaffner - What has RomneyCare done that is considered Conservative? Name one thing? Gingrich has a record of many Conservative accomplishments and is representing Tea Party values and principles. Gingrich is speaking about how he will cut the size and scope of the federal government and it's out of control spending. Show me one single cut in the federal government Romney has spoken of? There are NONE! Romney is an empty suit RINO. He is a liberal and ROMNEYCARE is proof of it. Obama-lite will not fix our problems; in fact I contend that if Romney (or Obama) is (re) elected POTUS this country is lost forever. People need to wake up and look at the facts for themselves! The people supporting Romney are either delusional or believing what the negative ads are saying and taking it for face value. Do your own research people, Gingrich is the only one (of the front runners) talking about huge cuts to government and its out of control spending, period. All you have to do is listen to Gingrich's speeches to know he is the real Conservative we need to save our country.

I love Rick Santorum but for some reason he isn't catching peoples attention. God bless him and his beautiful family.

Bah, he's driving headlines and contributing to a Newt loss against Romney in Florida. Instead of bashing Newt, he should have been on the front lines of this thing from stage one. Instead, he was sitting around befuddled as websites like Free Republic and other good conservatives did the dirty work. This has been a vicious smear campaign, and Rush takes the time to bash both parties involved.

Seriously? You'd hand Obama a vote (by not voting for the more conservative of the options.) Mike, marines are smarter than that. They dive in head first into very unsavory circumstances without blinking an eye. Why? Because they understand the mission.

Definitely in facepalm territory there, dude.

Rush has been off the reservation for ages now. He keeps bashing Newt in what has been, probably, one of the most dirty, dishonest smear campaigns ever between two Republicans. Rush is speaking out of both sides of his mouth. It seems he is preparing for a Romney nomination.

I am amazed at the ugly bashing that goes on in these comment sections. It seems that people have lost their ability to disagree with a candidate without becoming vitriolic in their hatred of another human being. Is this what conservatism has come too? Newt Gingrich has a lot of baggage and he has to know that the general election would be a firestorm of negative ads and press. Right now his press is more positive than negative as shown in the recently released study http://www.cmpa.com/media_room_press_1_18_12.html

In the general election the press would go extremely negative on him. Right now he has one candidate going negative on him. How would he handle the press attacking him as they protect their favorite son-Obama? There is a good chance he would self-destruct!

If you think this is "ugly bashing" then you must not get around the web much. We don't do vitriolic hatred here. You'll want huffington post for that.

Yeh! Well I'm sick of Limbaugh. His analogies today were so far off base I had to send him an email.

Limbaugh said he didn't care what his enemies said and he didn't let it worry him. Well good for you. Try running for office in a 24/7 news cycle. Limbaugh doesn't have to defend himself because he's not worried about a vote that's only a week or a day away so it's pretty easy to not worry. Limbaugh's not worrying or complaining is supposed to be some kind of comparison to someone in a political race. Limbaugh said he'd just stay on message. He'd last a week.

As for staying on message except for some short statements Gingrich has not gotten off message. If you watch his speeches and his interview with Greta he was on message.

It's no secret Limbaugh doesn't want Gingrich and speaking of whining he's doing a damn good job of it himself.

I don't think so-he just sees the issues on both sides!

They're not just negative ads, they are a rewrite of history to smear someone.

I don't understand, why not? Will he be like McCain and insist on being politically correct? Concerned that negative campaigning will upset the moderate Republicans and Independents? Sara Palin complained that the McCain campaign kept her restrained and it definitely worked to their detriment. If the MSM won't vet Obama and the Democrats, isn't it up to the Republican candidates?

The plot thickens.....

There are also stories of deals with China (while Huntsman, his cousin was there) and the Medicare fraud garnering the largest fine in history.

Absolutely the greatest. Why should he tell you who to vote for? He respects the power of the people to decide. If you listen closely you can feel which way he leans but it does him no good to pick your candidate.

cabensg
cabensg

Oh! I know which way he leans alright and he's grasping at straws to make his case. This was the most incoherent show I've ever heard. I found it hard to believe he actually believed what he was saying. This is the first time I actually lost some respect for him. He tried to imply that just because Politics had always been down and dirty what applied in Jefferson's time applied now. Did they have 24/7 news cycles, 24/7 advertising. Vital elections within weeks of each other. It was a flawed analogy at best. I already voiced my opinion about his totally wrong message that Newt was off message. I guess Limbaugh gets his news from blog headlines.

Dax

I never thought I would do that but you can see Romney's foolishness in personally attacking Newt which will only anger the Newt supporters. Probably the most stupid thing Romney has done.

Rush is exactly right on both points and I dont take vicodan. Have a little respect for the greatest radio talk show host in history please.

klaffner...many of Romney's ads are not true. Sounds like you will believe anything Romney tells you as well as give him a pass on all his super moderate policies. For goodness sake do just a little research before you make such a claim.

"Why...Why...Why"

-Figure Skater Nancy Kerrigan's response after getting kneecapped by Tonya Harding's thugs

Nancy gained a lot of support from sympathetic fans over that tragic episode. Newt is no Nancy Kerrigan though.

Romney's campaign has been based on lies.

He lied at least seven times in the last debate alone.

He has tried to win this election the same way he does business whatever get the votes or dollars.

He is a cunning and ruthless man.

He looks innocent, attractive and respectable on the outside, but he is not.

If I see him in person, I will spit on the ground...shake the dust from my feet and turn away.

I will not vote for this man. Not on his record. Not on his character. Not on his methods.

I could not vote for him or Obama at gunpoint.

May the Lord bring him to repentance.

StNikao
StNikao

I DO AGREE WITH RUSH - Newt and Santorum should just ignore Romney and focus on articulating conservatism, outline their platforms and convictions and when/if Romney pipes in, counter him with facts, evidence, data about his record, stats about his lack of success as a Governor, his liberalism and his lies, etc.

Steven Valdez
Steven Valdez

I agree on both points.

But more on the Romney point because he can't win a fight with using same liberal tactics against Obama.
