Sandy Hook families beg NBC to NOT air the Megyn Kelly interview; NBC SCRAMBLING…

The families of the slain children at Sandy Hook have sent NBC a letter asking them not to air the Megyn Kelly interview with Alex Jones:

PAGE SIX – The families of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre have sent a legal letter to NBC News chairman Andy Lack urging him not to broadcast Megyn Kelly‘s interview with controversial InfoWars host Alex Jones.

The letter, from the law firm Koskoff, Koskoff and Bieder who represent several of the families who lost loved ones in the 2012 tragedy, reads, “Airing Ms. Kelly’s interview implicitly endorses the notion that Mr. Jones’ lies are actually “claims” that are worthy of serious debate; and in doing so it exponentially enhances the suffering and distress of our clients. For that NBC is responsible.

“We urge you to consider the ethical and legal ramifications of broadcasting this interview to millions of Americans. By now, it should be clear to NBC that airing the interview will cause serious emotional distress to dozens of Sandy Hook families. ”

NBC is under a lot of pressure over this interview – not to mention that JP Morgan Chase pulled their advertisement – and is reportedly scrambling to try and fix this, as Page Six pointed out yesterday morning:

Megyn Kelly has completely overhauled her Sunday night show featuring Alex Jones, inviting Sandy Hook families on the program and editing her interview with Jones to be tougher on him, following all the backlash this week.

NBC News execs were scrambling following the furor over Kelly’s decision to give a platform to the controversial Infowars host, who claimed the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax.

A contrite Kelly personally called the Sandy Hook families, we’re told, to invite them on the show to counter Jones’ rhetoric.

A source told us, “NBC was scrambling to find a way out of this mess without having to back down and cancel Sunday’s episode of Megyn’s show. Megyn and her producers made numerous calls to the Sandy Hook families this week to ask them to appear on the show. Some refused because they didn’t think appearing on her show would do enough to counter Alex Jones’ venom.”

Heck even Alex Jones doesn’t want them to air the interview and has posted his own audio recordings of his interactions with Megyn Kelly (phone and interview) after asking NBC not to air it:

I’m would note that I haven’t watched the video above but wanted to present it here just to show you how crazy all of this is getting.

In any event, I’m not interested one iota in watching the actual interview, but I am interested to see how all of this turns out.
