Wonderful words by Sarah Palin today in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.:

Today Americans honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It’s been 30 years since President Reagan signed this holiday into law in 1983, followed by its celebration three years later. We continue to look to Dr. King’s teachings which show us that our efforts—though seemingly futile at times—really do matter, that one person’s faith in something greater than self can lift all mankind, and that character alone should be the means whereby a person is measured, rather than the external things on which our society fixates.

This year marks 50 years since Martin Luther King stood before the Lincoln Memorial to proclaim his dream and remind the world that 100 years had passed since President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Now, 150 years after that historic signing, Americans still stand with both these men, ever committed to the freedoms that they worked to secure. They dedicated their lives for freedom, including freedom from stifling, overbearing governments. We will not squander what their efforts have wrought, we will not take for granted the blood that has been shed, and we will not fail to do our part to help preserve the freedoms that are uniquely American. In Dr. King’s own words, “Let freedom ring!” So, to these freedoms we cling so that future generations may know and love the America that those before us so sacrificially gave.

I encourage you to take time to reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King’s efforts to secure freedom and true equality and what those efforts have added to our lives today.

And the lefties spew hate.

I hope everyone notices that Sarah did not congratulate Obama on his inauguration. She focused on what today really means and the progress of freedom for everyone. Not a single mention of Barky’s Big Day. Focus like a lazer on the positive things she did say. I love that woman.

    • 1endtimes2020

She is a thorn in the sides of the bad guys, and a refreshing, normal ally to the good people. We love her too.

So is Michelle Bachman… those lefties are scared sh**less of those 2 women…

        • 1endtimes2020

Absolutely. Elsewhere on TRS I already suggested a Bachman-Palin ticket. Now Ted Cruz comes along. But there has to be a great place for all of them in a Republican government, Thet would bring back sanity to Washington.

      • JohnCraven

I wish Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and the markswoman who appeared on Hannity’s special the other night, and Ted Cruz, Jim DeMint, and Col. Allen West would get together with the NRA and The TEA Party Movement and the March For Life and form an alternative party based on the principles of Ronald Reagan and our founding documents so as to truly challenge the Marxists of the Democrat Party and leave the Big Whig appeasers in the GOP go the way of the Whigs and the Know-Nothings.

If only that would be possible. I don’t have any idea if the persons you name would be willing to start a new party, rather than improve the Republican party. However, we are finding it easier to see the difference between the big talkers and do nothings with the top calibre of those you named. Obama mesmerized, and still continues to mesmerize his followers, who are diminishing before his eyes. I didn’t watch Obama perform his inauguration, or listen to his liberal media admirers, but I did hear conservative commentators say Obama spoke with his usual poignant oratory, but said nothing of substance. He is scrapping the bottom of the barrel now, because he doesn’t want to repeat the same things as before, or it will risk reminding voters that he didn’t follow through on his rehetoric. He was going to ‘make sure’ about all kinds of things, and didn’t, and was going to do the impossible, and kept saying ‘yes, we can’, but now doesn’t want to admit he couldn’t. But even failure is not going to slow down his agenda that doesn’t work. Oh no, not him, Mr Invincible (not).
Ross Perot could have started a 3rd party, but backed off. I wonder if he was bought off.

Sarah Palin is indeed a true American patriot. She took the time today to honor the words and deeds of two great men, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, jr.

On the other hand, Barack Obama today used the Bibles of two great Americans (Lincoln and King) in order to honor the one great person in his life – himself.

I respect the office of the President of the United States. However, for the first time in my life, I do not believe the man that holds that office deserves it and I do not respect him. Comparing Palin to Obama, I know which one I would rather listen to and follow. Keep up the strength, Sarah. We are with you in this fight.

You cannot help but love this woman. In all of the putrid corruption of the Washington cesspool, she remains as pure as the white snow where she lives.

    I love her to death.

The dreams of MLK could have been achieved much sooner, if not for Dems. Look at history:

The 1960s Civil Rights Bills had more Repub votes.
(few “JFK Dem” politicians exist, but voters cling to older stances)(see Larry McDonald)

Civil Rights Bills were introduced in 50s, but vehemently opposed by many Dems — notably LBJ. He changed his mind to pander & for Dems to be portrayed as the liberators & even hypothesized in his stating ~”We’ll have mass amounts of ‘niggers’ (actual quoting) continually voting for us.”

    Previously?:
Dems created Jim Crow laws & the KKK & ended Reconstruction, which was the North’s attempt for integration & rebuilding the South.

Many of the 1st gun-control attempts were by Southern Dems to prevent Blacks from protecting themselves.

A Civil Rights Bill was passed in 1875 — very similar to that of the 1960s — but later overturned — partially on the basis of ~”not directing businesses how to operate” (far cry from the authoritarianism of gov control now, regardless of race).

Sadly, few attempts until Eisenhower. Woodrow Wilson (1st major instigator of statism & Unconstitutional thoughts/policies) even increased segregation.

  • Rocko19

Nothing would make me happier then to have Sarah Palin as this countries president…..2016 would do just fine….
Because she is Sarah, she would get millions in free media time…….Sarah’s bus tour was media gone wild, following her on ground and in air…. Really, they had helicopters following her, who else is that important to warrant the cost to send out the troops like that?…. She even tried to lose them but could not..
Poor Romney made his announcement to run and she got the crowds…She even got the front page, above the fold of the Union Leader and Mitt only got a small space….
If she ran, it would be a bonanza for the media…Rush, Breitbart, the Right Scoop, and all conservative talk radio would praise her night and day..
After Allen West was fully vetted and comes out clean, he should be considered for Sarah’s VP…
No one has been vetted like Sarah, ever, 25,000 emails exposed and she comes out smelling like a ROSE…..
She would for sure give the Dems the election if she lead a third party….. It would serve the free-holes that call themselves Republican, right…

Unfortunately her public image to the American public is badly damaged. She can never run for President. I have also concluded that Government has grown so much in this last decade that we cannot win back Virginia.

    • 3seven77

      That’s nonsense.

Just a suggestion: take the time to do some research and find out the facts about Palin for yourself. You can choose to keep being misled with nonsense or you can learn to think for yourself. As Sarah says, “Only a dead fish goes with the flow.”

      • Indiana

No it is not nonsense. I know Governor Sarah Palin’s record but the thing is the American people have showed they don’t really care about a persons record. The American public already has the view of Palin being a crazy, Christian extremist that knows nothing of foreign policy. They tore her up to bad that she can’t run because that would be the only narrative that the public has of her. They did to her what they just did to Governor Mitt Romney. Also it doesn’t look to good when she resigns as Governor after just 2 years.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/XDJEXPG6CCFD5DRIAEQK5UBOBU Jack

“Also it doesn’t look to good when she resigns as Governor after just 2 years.”
          ————————————–

Sarah Palin served 32 out of 48 months; the same percentage that Obama served of his Senate term (not including the two-year break he spent campaigning) and Sarah Palin accomplished everything she set out to do in 2/3 of the time.

Upon her return to Alaska to resume her duties as Governor, Palin was plagued with one trumped up ethics charge after another which cost her staff dearly.

Sarah Palin resigned because she recognized the cost that the frivolous ethics complaints were having on her state , and she saw how much of her staff’s time and her own time were forced to deal with those issues.

That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.

She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.
Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $500,000 dollars in legal fees.

Sarah Palin knew that for the sake of her state, her country, her family, and her political voice, it would be best if she stepped aside from the governorship.

In an article Sarah Palin said:

“I said, ‘Enough. Political adversaries and their political friends in the media will not destroy my State, my administration, nor my family. Enough.’ I knew if I didn’t play their game any longer, they could not win. I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane.”

She promised to keep the frivolous anti-Palin law suits away from the Alaskan people and to be more effective on the stump ( supporting candidates , fundraising, etc)

Sarah Palin was truthful on both accounts.

          —————-

After the 2008 election Sarah Palin helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations during the 2010 election with her endorsements and rallies all over the country; she has endorsed 73 candidates for the US House of Representatives and Senate; state governors and attorney generals. Her success rate is at 69%.
18 out of 20 targets in her Take Back the 20 campaign ; this is a 90% success rate!

Sarah Palin also had a very strong hand in the party’s few successes during this election . Sarah Palin campaigned for constitutional conservatives llike Ted Cruz, Deb Fischer, Jeff Flake, Paul Gosar, resulting in 5 conservatives being elected to the Senate and 32 conservatives to the House.

In 2010, Sarah Palin backed South Carolina’s Tim Scott. He won in 2010 and he won the re-election. She backed other African Americans like Allen West and Mia Love. Both of those candidates narrowly lost their races by 2,000 votes in the case of Love and 1,000 votes in the case of West.

Sarah Palin has also penned commentary on such topics as the unrest in Libya, the protests in Wisconsin, Obama’s 2012 budget proposal and State of the Union address, getting tough with Iran and standing with Iranians who seek democracy, challenging the specifics of President Obama’s energy policy, the omnibus spending bill, defeating the New START, opposition to state bailouts, tax policy, a message to Republican freshmen in Congress, opposition to quantitative easing, and more.

She has repeatedly been a leading voice—via television appearances and speaking engagements—against the dangers of ObamaCare and the risks of President Obama’s approach to energy.

          ——————————

By the way, Sarah Palin was the first Republican to make a high-profile critique of the Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing, though even earlier she had marked the collapsing value of the dollar as one of her issues.

I know the Palin record already. Why are you people attacking me. I am commenting that the image that I have described is the image many people think when Sarah Palin is mentioned. Seeing as our nation may not ever get a clue her national image is forever destroyed, thus it would be terrible she ran. It would begin all over again. I wish she would run and win but I know what would really happen.

            • sDee

The deeper part of your commentary is then that no conservative can win. The media( including Murdoch’s Fox) will always destroy leaders of free men, like Palin, West Bachmann, Cuze.

The ones who appear conservative but the press and DC political machine do not destroy, are genuinely suspect.

Might I conclude then that either submission, or, collapse and revolution is inevitable?

              • PhillyCon

                sdee:

You hit the nail on the head. Also, the dirty little secret is that our side is easily scared. So, when the inevitable demonization (read: Alinsky) begins of X conservative … our side goes into hiding.

For example, why is Palin’s public persona so bad, as Indiana insists? Could it be, that people on our side kept silent? Yes, the media (and the ilk of Tina Fey) had their role, but where was the push back? Where did the authors get their material for Game Change? From people on our side.

              • Indiana

I would say an little known conservative can win.

            • earnye

Wow! You are pretty faithless, Indiana. Sarah Palin has a servant’s heart. I remember her telling everyone that if the door to running for president of this country opens to her she will walk right through it knowing, believing that God would be the One opening it. There’s a scripture in the bible that says, ‘If God is for you, who can be against you?’ She was betrayed by the Republicans this last time around and just look at us now. Both political parties tried to destroy her with the help of the lousy media.

Obama will finish what he has already started – fundamentally transforming our country. He has already destroyed our economy and our faith traditions. He walks on the Constitution as though it were a door mat. By 2014, Obama will have hurt us so badly that people will begin to cry out for any change and someone like Sarah Palin who talks straight and backs up what she says with action will be very appealing. Suffering brings about change.

Why do you think Hollywood and the foreign press took another shot at her 2 weekends ago at the Golden Globes? Because they are deathly afraid of Sarah and they want her gone. Julianne Moore was handed the Best Actress Award for negatively portraying Sarah Palin in the smear movie called Game Change on HBO. This was supposed to tell the story of the 2008 Vice Presidential campaign that Gov. Palin ran with Senator McCain. When Ms. Moore came to the stage to accept the award, she gave a shout out to Katie Couric and Tina Fey as contributors to her resources in preparation for the role of Gov. Palin. We all know they know that Sarah is still standing and that scares them.

I would work my heart out campaigning for her if she ran. Since we are losing with the Republicans now, why don’t we think about a 3rd Party? The GOP Establishment will never accept a true Conservative like Palin who is our modern day Ronald Reagan. There is no one else out there today with the sheer fearlessness and fierceness of Sarah Palin. She’s charismatic and SMART.

You can see that I’m a Palin Conservative and proud to be.

              • Indiana

That is nice that you quoted the bible but this is American politics. God has been silenced, therefore it is not a strategy

            • notsofastthere

Indiana, you are trying to be a realist, but it comes across a being a fatalist. Right now we need positive thoughts because we can’t believe how dangerous the morons have become. Anyone opposing Progressives will get crucified – we just have to be stronger. sDee has a point “…submission, or, collapse…”

              Indiana:

The public perception of Sarah Palin is “damaged” b/c people on our side kept their mouths shut. We never defend our own and pay a dear price for it. Instead, we end up with “electable” candidates such as Romney and McCain who are afraid of their own shadows.

So, when you hear/read why the GOP is in disarray, it’s not what they are writing or crowing about, its b/c our side has been emasculated. We resemble the French in many ways after WWI, no fighting spirit just capitulation.

I don’t think the intention is to attack you. If you know the Governor’s records and wish that she would run, we must come together to educate our fellow Americans about her. The lamestream media has done so much damage but we can turn it around if we stand on the facts and speak the truth about Gov. Palin.

Well this is perhaps the longest DUMB statement I have seen. I am simply stating how the general public that doesn’t follow politics or Sarah Palin would react to a Palin candidacy. Not to mention I don’t see the voting public to intelligent enough to do their own research.

                • BevWKY

You know, it always amuses me to be told the general public would respond to a Palin candidacy a certain way because… well, because, it’s been declared to be so. The end.

Given the perception many in America have of her already it is hard for me to think that she could win.

Yeah well….no we don’t need them in Indiana. Seriously though I hope I am wrong too but Barack Obama has won Virginia twice now. As well as the Commonwealth now has 2 liberal Senators. I had some hope because of Bob McDonnell’s election as Governor in 2009 but now I see from recent polls that Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is trailing his Democratic challenger.

  • JohnCraven

The Democrats here in New Orleans celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King’s Day the way they have traditionally done in years past — they shot 4 people on the street named for him during the parade they have for him every year.

I wonder how the Democrats celebrated this Republican’s holiday in Chicago or Detroit! Did they do as the Democrats did here – shoot a bunch of people too?

It should be noted that Dr. Martin Luther King’s niece, Dr. Alveda King, is one of the major speakers at and promoters of the Annual March For Life in Washington, D.C., and that abortion, as envisaged by its most ardent promoter, Margaret Sanger, who founded Planned Parenthood as part of her “Negro Project” set up to eliminate the black race and other minorities, is accomplishing just what Margaret Sanger had wanted it to do since, according to Star Parker, roughly 60% of all abortions in America are perfomed on black women and in New York City and probably other bastions of the Democrat Party, the abortion rate amongst black women is approaching 75% under the approving eyes of “the lord messiah” Barack Hussein Obama, “the most merciful”!

Nero Ceasar Obama would even abort his own grandchildren rather than “burden” his daugters with children not to mention burdening him with grandchildren. What a heart of stone does Nero Obama possess which could only be matched by Herod the Great!

You’re right about Sanger wanting to control the population of blacks but where you’re wrong and I think is very interesting is the fact that as far as abortion goes Sanger thought abortion was barbaric. Climate change has been debunked so many times that even AL Gore’s lunacy has allowed him to sell his channel to the supporters of those who diabolically attack climate change on a daily basis. Dollars trump climate change everytime when it comes to the hypocrites who use it as a tool for personal gain.
