Sarah Palin: Let the light shine on the “corruption at the heart of big government”

Sarah Palin released this just now from her Facebook:

Let the Light Shine

Today we learned that our government targeted and harassed conservative Americans who simply wanted to be involved in the national discussion. Is it any wonder why Americans are so distrustful of D.C.? I’m sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night.

So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it’s supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally.

This IRS revelation is another step in the unraveling of the Obama administration’s self-proclaimed “hope and change.” Between the Benghazi cover-up and the IRS targeting Obama’s political opponents, we see the corruption at the heart of big government.

Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare. And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House’s latest Benghazi spin or the IRS’ fairness.

Despite all of this, I still believe that this “fundamental transformation of America” is temporary. This attempted transformation into a disheartened, weakened, unrecognizable nation is so far below anything Americans deserve. It becomes permanent only if we throw up our hands and surrender to the corruption and cover-ups.

We must demand more light shine on all that’s transpiring in D.C.’s self-absorbed bubble. On the IRS scandal, we must have accountability and a full investigation. On Benghazi, Speaker Boehner must create a Select Committee with full investigative and subpoena authority to get to the bottom of the cover-up. Keep the faith, friends.

Only if the MSM stops getting their bribery checks!

      • MacWell

YoJoe Conniption Fitz It’s getting to the point that none of that matters any longer, Americans demand the truth, and they WILL get it.

The problem is most people don’t know the difference between  Ben Gazzara

YoJoe  That thought came to me when I was looking at another article!  BUT…we now have CNN talking about the scrubbing of the Talking Points and I NEVER thought that would happen.  A positive step…I think that this will not go away quietly.  It will be interesting to figure out who is stronger…Hillary or Obama..in this “No Holds Barred fight!  But one of them is going under the bus…unless it is a fair fight…and their natures will be revealed in the scrap to see who survives and they will both go down.  This will HAVE to be covered on MSM and they will see the sham they elected and propagandized for…and be (with any luck at all) ashamed .  My hope is that they both go down for this horrific betrayal of the trust that We the People bestow upon them!  I trust that the lesson will be learned by “We the People”.   We deserve better!!!  We now have our foot in the door…let’s finish it!

Orangeone I cannot find the article right now, but there is a statistic out there that says that of the 46,000+ guns related crimes…Chicago could only prosecute 44!  Some how I think it is in one of the speeches from the NRA convention.  Add that “non-action” to the revelation today about ICE being blocked by Obama, Napolitano and a mucky-mucky from LaRaza, along with the fudging of the numbers…only points to, yet again, “they” are trying to bring America to it’s knees!

Orangeone poorhardworker Thank you!  At my age I was lucky to get to the NRA Convention!!! I must spend too much time reading and listening to the “real” world!!!  I have bookmarked so may things recently I have a hard time to keep it all straight!   LOL!!!  I just recently joined/leaned about this site and I have been simply amazed by the decency and level of discussion here.  I am glad to be here.
You can stop reading now…this is just a bit about me.  And I am writing this because many of you evince a “family” feel about this site that I totally love.
I am a 63 yr old single Mom that had to figure it out.on my own how to survive!  And, thankfully, I did!  Yes…you can call me one of the takers because I took early Social Security because I “retired” many, many years ago.  But I also l learned how to invest in makers when I was in my middle 40’s…when everything was booming!  I am the epitome of the adage “more good luck than good management”!  So waiting was stupid (not a good use of my money…not working hard enough for me).  For full disclosure here…I get just about $12,000 a year in “benefits” for my years contributions.  That won’t keep me alive in the US will it?  No worries…I knew that was what I was going to get and I planned for it.  I have found a way that works for me.  And, bonus…none of what I am doing is illegal!
But before this time in my life…I did not ask anyone to help me and I did not get child support nor did I sue for it..  Personal responsibility was drilled into me by my “Great Depression child survivor” of a father.  And, though I loathed that lesson, I thank my father every day for that lesson.  And I thank my mother for the optimism (and love that never waivered)  and instilling in me the undying belief that good would win over evil!  Maybe not in my lifetime.  But if I have done my job as a mother, my daughter will see the result of value, honor, integrity, love of God and a resolve that will NOT be deterred…and hold the utmost respect for the Constitution of the United States of America.
Thanks for taking the time to read….

        • Orangeone

poorhardworker Orangeone Welcome to Scoop!  You have already added to the great discussions that we have here.  I do disagree that you are a taker. You worked and paid into Social Security and are rightfully entitled to your benefits.
My parents too were adults during the Great Depression so I completely understand the personal responsibility ethics.
We have many veterans that post here and share their insights like no one else could.  I personally look forward to more of your posts.

” What Americans deserve” is a phrase which recurs a lot lately. I don’t think we should be too quick to claim we deserve better. What is happening now is the result of many basically good Americans letting our civic involvement and also our morals slip. We enjoyed an easy life and trusted our politicians and press, even as it became more and more evident that they were unworthy of trust. I am one of those guilty ones, but I hope in the next 2-3 months to make a big change in that. If, God willing, we have even that long.
If we want to return to the wonderful, free, safe, prosperous nation that America once was, we have to earn it. Because we have waited so late, the effort required will be immense, intense, and of long duration. I would not even try if it were not for the ugly, horrifying alternative which is now staring us in the face and laughing as it plots our demise.
America was built on Judeo-Christian morality. Not only is that the highest moral standard I know of, but the God of the Bible offers His assistance to those who trust Him with their lives on earth as well as their eternal lives. If you’re like me, you know we need all the help we can get. In a world of spiritual darkness, it’s often not easy to see what’s right, and so easy to compromise morally.
I know that many who frequent this site already know these things. I’m really speaking to those who haven’t yet looked at our troubles from a spiritual point of view. Fellow Americans, please consider the spiritual warfare that is going on behind the scenes, and enlist in the spiritual war as well as the political war. We need you to be on board with us in this also.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people He has chosen for His own inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12)

    • jtkell100

Rush said this and I agree.
But because his work has been cited in the Heritage Foundation on the Gang of Eight’s amnesty bill, he is now targeted for destruction.  And joining this attempt to destroy him are several Republican establishment members, several RINO Republicans who are part of this cabal that thinks the Republican Party needs to go out and support amnesty in order to get Hispanic votes to have any chance of winning future elections.
I think, folks, the Republicans that make up this group, the RINO group, the group that support this amnesty type legislation, or, if not amnesty, the Republicans that think we ought to modify and moderate our view on all the social issues, like abortion and so forth, do you know what it is?  I think these people are jealous.  I think they want the support of people who vote for Democrats.  I think they wish people who voted for Democrats were voting for them.  I think they wish they were going to things like the Met ball.  I think they wish they were on red carpet premiere events. I think they wish to be accepted in that way by the pop culture icons of the left.
So it’s understandable to me that the left would try to destroy Jason Richwine.  That’s what they do.  Any time somebody comes along and pokes holes in what they’re trying to do and illustrates the folly of their objectives, of course they’re gonna set out to destroy them.  But what’s happening now is the entire Heritage Foundation is under assault, predictably from the left, but being joined by some Republicans.  And Jason Richwine is at the head of this list for destruction.  And again, his doctoral thesis, his review of the IQ of illegal aliens was simply a scholarly result of research.  And his research was passed with flying colors by his dissertation review board at Harvard.  Nobody had a problem with it until it shows up in a Heritage report which might damage official Washington, elitist Washington’s desire for amnesty.

      • lawngreen

jtkell100 That certainly could be. Jealous repubs. Their immaturity is disgusting. “Please somebody like me.”
        Ugh.

      • cabensg

jtkell100  They’ve been trying to destroy the Heritage report since it first came out. Now they think they’ve found a way to do that. It ain’t gonna work. Liberal believers will of course latch onto it but people with a brain who can actually think for themselves with it, won’t.

  • cabensg

What liberals do best. While we think we’re attacking them and making some headway they still continue behind the scenes. If we had 1/4 the determination the left has we wouldn’t be in this position.

56Survivor It is and yes they do.

  • deTocqueville1

Wonderful post and one can see her latest salvos as the opening of the major campaign to restore this great country called America.

  • Amjean

It would have been more effective if she wrote two op eds on facebook:  1) Benghazi and 2) IRS Targeting Conservative Groups; Tea Party, etc.
While the IRS targeting conservative groups is a horror story in itself, the most critical issue in our nation right now is the uncovering of what happened in Benghazi.  It affects our troops, our allies and our country’s safety.
Benghazi deserves a lengthy opinion piece from Palin.  This somewhat disjointed effort doesn’t do it for me.  We need to keep the pressure on so more hearings and investigation will take place encouraging the lamestream media to cover it.  All Americans need to know what is going on.  It IS that important.
Palin worshipers, don’t throw eggs and tomatoes at me, however, lately Palin has been more like a housewife who sits at her kitchen table and types her thoughts on whatever topic catches her fancy (similar to the rest of us “posters”); throwing out catch phrases, instead of writing anything really worth reading.  She seems to be shying away from being totally involved.  That is her prerogative, of course, as she doesn’t hold office.  I just think she is letting her opportunity to be a stronger voice for conservatism slip away.  And I am disappointed because I think this country needs her strong voice.  Of course, a little bit of Sarah Palin goes a long way!

    • K-Bob

      Amjean
It’s always “worshipers” to the PDS crowd.
Credibility shot, right out of the box.

        • deTocqueville1

Amjean Which you do consistently, but that is your prerogative.

        • Amjean

I do no such thing.  However, you are correct in that it is my (or anyones) prerogative.  My disappointment in her not doing more is in no way reflective of what I think of her conservative credentials.

        • Longiron

Sarah Palin IS a ‘housewife’ sitting at her kitchen table, typing out her thoughts, just like those here. She doesn’t have ‘a government job’ anymore. BUT, unlike us, she does have ‘a position’. A well known spokesman for the Conservative cause and it really galls the left that she’s very good at it. 😉

Others on here will jump on the first bandwagon conservative who ways something remotely conservative if he’s a man.  Palin, not so much.  If you think all she has been doing is being a housewife, you deserve more than tomotoes and eggs for your ignorance.

  • wdobni

what happened in Benghazi was the governance equivalent of medical malpractise.  It is the equivalent of cutting off the wrong leg or taking out the wrong lung.  Except that not one person died but instead 4 good men died.  It is a case of malfeasance, criminal negligence, due to paying more attention to one’s golf game and political fundraising events than to the ordinary requirements of basic safety practices in a professional operation.  Its the equivalent of a pilot being drunk at the controls and crashing or a firefighter leaving his equipment at the shop and having no ladder to climb up and rescue the child.  It is criminal irresponsibility of the highest order and Obama is not worth 4 men…impeach now

  • PaulLeslie

Well, D.C. is really a problem, but that statement muddies reality a bit.  The biggest problem lies in the fact that the government is controlled by radical subversives.
This country has fallen so far that it has elected a marxist as president, and has given power to his party that doesn’t go by the description “socialists” but “progressive.”  It matters little – they are born of the same world view, and they are both hostile to freedom.  This is why they targeted the TEA parties.
Imagine that, one of their “triggers” that initiated an IRS investigation (political persecution) was the word “patriot.”  It’s the same word that Janet Napolitano said would warrant being put on her potential terrorist watch list.
Yeah, give me some evidence that the democrat party is comprised of true patriots, I haven’t seen any yet.

  • Laurel A

Everyone needs to be pushing the GOP to force accountability and firings for the IRS discrimination. If they get away with it and there is no accountability it will continue unabated.

  • doofuschmartz

I believe the Obamanation and its brainwashed/braindead occupants have a Machiavellian metanarrative that allows them to salve their consciences with the age-old lie that the won will make all things right and fair in due time and that way they can just go home at night take their bong hits, smoke their doobies, snort their lines…or whatever, and sleep like a baby…the one that they might have had if they hadn’t aborted it…another part of their narrative…

  • John_Frank

RS, thank you for posting Sarah Palin’s excellent FB statement.

  • lrjrj

Great to point out the obvious, or what used to be obvious- distrust of our govt. This is not just remembering that rights of the individual are paramount, but also recognizing the structural deficiency in 3rd party decision making, removed from those it will affect very personally. Americans who voted for ACA Dems ought to have a rekindled interest in defeating the indefensible empowerment of more govt that will trickle down into bureaucratic and impersonal mandates, rules and restrictions on the most important decisions in our lives, and will inevitably lead to pressures over personal behavior deemed impactful of costs that are now the state’s responsibility. Truly a nightmare future that is almost upon us.

  • benty910

Thank you Mrs. Palin for you’re encouraging words. I  was brought up on Vancouver Island and am a Canadian but watched how holywood and the Dem smear machine attacked you over the years. They are simply disgusting, and you remain a good person. The radical left are having their day now, but their machinations ARE temporary. God bless you Sarah.
