(Sigh.) What does she see in that Todd, anyway?

    • badbadlibs

      umm….alot ;)

    • MaxineCA

Oh maybe he’s a good loyal faithful husband, a good father, hard working, kind, caring loving person…. and after a much longer list I could state, I might add a man that hasn’t been wussified. Hum, what’s not to like there? Hey, if Sarah loves him, that says a lot. So I wouldn’t question Grizzly Mama on that one!

      • white531

Maxine, I know he’s a hunk and I’m a guy who would just like to hang out with him. I can only imagine what the girls think. But as a couple, they are a magnificent example of what America used to be. Let’s not forget that. Everybody in America used to be just like them . What happened to us?

        • MaxineCA

          What happened to us?

My friend, I never in my wildest dreams (nightmares), ever thought I would see our culture and our country become so morally corrupt. It started many, many years ago but it kicked up to another notch in the ’60’s. It’s on steroids today. I guess my best answer to your complex question would be the following: (the list could go on, but you’ll get my main point.)

Destruction of the family (women’s lib and today LGBT) and encouragement of the permanent welfare state.

Attacks on religion. No one seems to understand “freedom of religion”. They now think it means “freedom from religion”.

Abuse of the civil rights laws that have transformed from everyone being equal to everyone wants to be treated as a privileged “special class of their own”.

Destruction by indoctrination of our schools.

Yeah, the more important question isn’t WHAT HAPPENED, it’s how did we let our culture dramatically decline gradually over time that we didn’t see it coming? The good news is America is awake, and we WILL take our country back!

          • white531

Maxine, you are a wonderment. That is an adjective that I reserve for someone really special. You earned that here tonight, on this rather obscure website, where a few of us gather to talk about a plan to save what’s left of America.

            Everything you stated, is true.

When we were an agriculturally based economy, everyone grew up on the farm. Families were close. Everyone who was related to you lived within twenty miles of where you lived. You knew all of your Uncles and Aunts and cousins. You ate fried chicken with them every Sunday, after going to church. Allow me to repeat that. After going to Church. You then married your high school sweetheart. Horror of horrors. And then, you raised a family not unlike the family you were raised in. Not a bad thing, when you think about it now.

The abomination we now call Television, did not exist. Hollywood movies were innocent and free from sexual innuendos. It was Roy Rogers and Gene Autry and Tom Mix. The westerns were our favorites. If only it had stayed that way.
I don’t have to tell you, it didn’t. Can you even believe the things our children are exposed to now, before they are even ten years old? It is a sadness, bordering on desperation, for the future of this Republic.

We can defeat the Liberals and the Socialists and the Communists at the ballot box, but how do we restore the innocence of our children, who have been robbed of their childhood by technology, never again to enjoy the absolute beauty and freedom and wonder of the innocence of that magical period in the development of their lives as they move toward becoming responsible adults. How can we do that? The answer is, we can’t. We simply can’t.

I hope you have an answer for that problem within your own family structure and the faith of your church. Because it is real and it has an incredible impact on America’s youth.

The destruction and the demoralization of the family structure, may represent the greatest damage done to us by the Socialist movement in America. Because it is the hardest thing to repair and make right again.

To a child, there is no substitute for having a loving Father and Mother. That love, which most of us take for granted, is missing in the lives of millions of children in this country. It was probably missing in the early life of Obama. The damage that puts upon a young child is hard to change at a later date. The strong will survive it, but they are few. We are left with the rest. The result is predictable.

As much as I don’t like her, Hillary Clinton once issued a statement that I agreed with. Not for the reason that she made the statement, but for the purity within it. She said, “it takes a village.” Her reason for making the statement was totally misguided and political in nature. Her meaning was that only the Federal Damned Government can take care of you and your family. That, of course was wrong. But her statement was correct, in the human sense. “It takes a village.” Every primitive tribe in the world understands it.

Since landing on these shores, Americans have always taken care of each other. The term, “Welfare,” did not exist. When people needed help, their neighbors were there to help. It was simply what we did. Without the Federal Damned Government.

We have now reached a point in the evolution of this great country, where welfare comprises so much of the Federal budget, that the rest of us find we can no longer support it, without becoming poor ourselves. How did this happen? How did we allow it to get to this point? The simple answer to that question is, Liberals, Progressives and Communists. All of those terms fall under the general description of, “Democrats.”

This country has many enemies. It is up to you to decide which are the most threatening. i would leave you with this. Anything, and I mean anything, which threatens the structure of the family, is enemy number one. Everything else is secondary.

My advice? Unplug your television. Throw it out in your front yard and call the trash people to come pick it up. Start reading to your children. Take them to the Library and introduce them to the world. Teach them by example. Give them a model to follow. Show them that you read books every day. They will follow your example. Trust me on this. They will follow your example. There isn’t anything on television they will miss. Because they will grow up enjoying the love of their Mother and their Father. And when they reach adulthood, they will raise children just like them.

            • GetWhatYouPayFor

Life on this planet is more fragile than sound mental health allows us to contemplate, for more than a few pensive moments. There are various reset buttons that could be tripped at any time. Family, helping one another, agriculture and religion could make a come back, overnight. It could originate from out of this world or from within it, from good or from evil. The experience might bring pain, joy or both. Food for thought, just don’t dwell on it!

            • donmoffet

I was born in 1944 and the first portion of your post is my childhood biography.

              • white531

Well Don, now that’s a coincidence. I was also born in 1944, August 11, to be exact. I think all of us in that general age group remember how simple life was. I didn’t mean to exclude all those who grew up in a big city environment. It’s just that all I knew in my childhood was farms and small towns. I didn’t see a three story building until I was nine years old. I remember thinking at the time, why would they do that? Funny, what you remember.

But this is getting off topic. Sarah does that to me.

                • donmoffet

I realize people tend to remember things as being better than they actually were but I’m certain this country was in a hell of a lot better shape in the fifties than it is now.

                • white531

                  I think so too, Don.

          • warpmine

The Founding Fathers did see it coming, all of them and issued warnings to future generations but n one of the proceeding ever saw it coming because they were all just worried about themselves until we have what we’ve got…..the dreaded welfare state.

W531, I dont care about looks. But I do care about Character and integrity.

Although a lot of our Country is going to heck in a hand basket, and becoming more and more morally bankrupt, there are still a lot of us still civilized people.

Some of us are honest and decent. In fact I still hold out hope that there are a majority of good and reasonable people.

People like you and me, and all of us here on the RScoop.

Coming from a family who’s parents who were married for 69 years, and still going strong (Unfortunately my 92 year old dad ran out of time before they made it to 70 years)…From parents who instilled strong values and morals into me, and accordingly we have passed those on to our son, who is passing them on to his students.
Have heart not all teachers are following the liberal agenda.

          I am cautiously optimistic.

  • Freempg

I can’t remember where I saw it, must have been on Fox, but not sure whose show, Governor Palin said she was not interested in being hold up in Juneau again as Governor of AK, but was more interested in making sure our natural resources were being developed and utilized to our best advantage. Sounded like a pitch to be Secretary of Energy.

    • TENCOLE

SoE still has to follow, support and champion the President’s policies….they’re not the SoE’s policies. If his policies are bad….the reflection will be on her.

    • white531

Sarah followed one idiot and she saw the results. She is not likely to follow another one.

      • Freempg

Maybe so W5. It would indeed be a risk. She might be saddled with directives she can’t abide but would be trapped from resigning in protest for fear of confirming the “quitter” meme. It could be a trap to destroy her even more than she already has been.

        • stage9

          July 03, 2009

The governor, her family at her side, emphasized she has been the target of 15 ethics complaints by political opponents – all dismissed – at a cost of $2 million to the state and more than $500,000 to her family.

“And the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn’t cost them a dime, so they’re not going to stop draining public resources – spending other people’s money in their game,” she said.

“It’s pretty insane – my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with this instead of progressing our state now.”

Palin anticipated her decision would be questioned.

          • white531

She made the right decision. I support her. I would have done the same. She was destined for greater things.

        • white531

Free, sometimes I misread other contributors’ comments. I find that if I shoot off my mouth without clearly understanding what they were trying to say, I wind up being the idiot in the conversation. I have now done that enough times to be wary of it. Please run that by me one more time, so I am sure what you are saying.

          • Freempg

In short, I agree with you.

    • MaxineCA

You are 100% correct in your statement: “The national labs can be tucked back under the supervision of the Defense Department where they belong.”

I know from experience from working on contracts with many of the “Labs”, and have personally visited several of them, it’s all military R & D, which is fine, but put in under the proper budget. Many of our “large industry” commercial customers who had contracts with DOE had to put DOD language into their commercial contracts.

I could write a book on the topic, but they’d have to kill me and I don’t want to die today. I’ll wait until I see the restoration of our nation.

  • drphibes

    • stage9

      Cuuuuz she’s hot!

      sorry…

      • white531

She is hot, stage9, but the only one of us who is going to enjoy that, is Todd Palin. Because they were bonded in marriage, witnessed by God. Sarah Palin is pure. The Palin family is pure. They have done nothing wrong. I laugh at the idea that the lamestream media can do anything to destroy the purity and sanctity of the Palin family. What a joke. In all of the abuse and accusations, Sarah has stood strong. She is the same person she has always been and the same person she will always be. The only loser in this drama, is the media.
        Aren’t they always?

Agreed- American wake up we must get obama out of the White House – send him packing to Chicago – we need Gov Palin, but if it means ABO and it can’t be Gov Palin then so be it – but obama must go, period.

      • Guest1776rcp

but if it means ABO and it can’t be Gov Palin then so be it – but obama must go, period.

That’s exactly what Karl Rove predicted you’d think when he advised the establishment not to worry about TPers. The MSM even has some TPers believing Ryan is one of them even though his record speaks volumes otherwise and to the fact Ryan is nothing but a yes man establishment brown noser.

        • DocBarry1

I know this, but I agree with the Governor, we must first get rid of Obama, if this occurs we, I, will work with Governor Palin to make sure Conservative values are promoted.
“Much in life can be seen as ugly or beautiful – it’s our choice.

We must start somewhere and right now it’s by getting obama out w Romney. That will get us much closer to our goal than obama getting 4 more years. I don’t understand why people cannot see this.

    • toongoon

I had a conversation today with a liberal who agreed with me and knows that the problem is government. But it was at that point we parted ways. They disassociated obama from the government and said that government can either make or break obama. But wouldn’t identify who they think the government is.

Obama supporters aren’t asleep. They’re in a coma.

      • white531

Yeah, that is part of the problem, for sure.

      • white531

Thanks Scoop. The Gov great as always. She thrives on the campaign trail and certainly instills enthusiasm in the base and hope for America. But poor Shawn, a great hearted guy but just so repetitious and talks too much.

  • freenca

Sarah is so much like so many of us. She’s a better spokeswoman to be sure. She loves our country and our people, it is evident in every interview and speech that she gives. If she can influence the elections in any quarter to be more American, more free, or more independent, good for her!!!

    • white531

freenca, this is the tack she has taken and I love her for it. While not actively running herself for office, she has taken on the task of supporting others who have a chance of making a difference, if elected. The girl loves America AND I LOVE THE GIRL.

  • idesign2

    • white531

And she does it, as naturally as you would swat a fly.

    • brianmouland

And they hate her for it

  • opinionatedhermit

By what I have seen, Sarah’s greatest gift to America (so far) has been her faith in something greater, as well as her devotion to the American people. With her laser focus on all Americans, no matter who they are, it has grown to the point where she has become today’s version of “Will Rogers.”

Combined with her strength and ability to be a thorn in the side of the establishment, she’s like some kind of train that never stops. In fact, my only truck with her would be that she says it so much better than me. Darn, that woman…..

Who knows, maybe it’s that Alaska thing. But you can always find gold in a Sarah Palin speech.

    I bless this woman.

    Thank you, Sarah.

Thank you from the bottom of my wife’s and my heart.

    • white531

Kudos, opinionatedhermit. You just stated what we all feel.

  • poljunkie

    Rock on Gov.

  • white531

I live in Tucson. I just feel good she’s here in Arizona.

Folks, instead of looking at all the bad things, just try looking around you at all the good things. We are on the threshold of a new beginning for America. I know, it is only a beginning, but we have to start somewhere to find an end to this madness. Support your local representatives. Donate, if you are able. Talk to your friends and family. But more important than anything else, don’t lose hope.
Right now, we have these people on the run. They are going to lose this election big time and they know it. They are desperate. They will do anything to win. All we have to do, is sit back and enjoy the show.

    • MaxineCA

Great comment! You are correct that they are desperate and will do anything to win. Our battle has just begun and we must do everything we can to offset the corruption that will happen. We can enjoy watching them implode…. but we MUST get others out to vote.
