If I could, I would vote twice for Santorum, strictly because of his comment. Way to go, Santorum!

    • keyesforpres

Well, if he were a democrat, you would be able to vote early and often for him!

      • finallygotit

I thought he was democrat….didn’t he endorse both Arlen Specter [deciding vote on Obamacare...republican turned democrat] and Obama

        • keyesforpres

Why yes he did. He explained that he supported him because Spector had seniority and was on a committee (forget the name of it) and that if he got re-elected he would work to get conservatives on the Supreme Court and he did. Santorum had no way of knowing he would switch parties down the road or that Obama-no-care was coming down the pike.

          • Armyspouse1988

Except Specter denies any of that ever happened. Santorum, once again, CAVED.

            • keyesforpres

Spector switched back to the dem party. Who ya gonna believe?

            • http://twitter.com/cookingstormm JaeDee L.

No, he did not! He did not cave. I heard him defended his comment on Glenn Beck’s radio program after AS denial.

              • finallygotit

Yea…so did I. [Sounded kind of like...how should I say it....Ron Paul said it best: "FAKE."]

          • finallygotit

Nice spin. I find it unbelievable that so many people are willing to believe that the same people that got us into this mess are the best ones to get us out of it.

That would be like putting Barney Frank and Chris Dodd in charge of housing.

        • xam3991

He sacrificed ONE conservative in order to get THREE conservatives on the supreme court.

        • smbren

Most Americans are middle of the road common sense. It is how we live our lives. I am totally conservative, I do not need everyone to agree with me. I want common sense. My problem with Mitt Romney is the healthcare bill. I can live with everything else.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

If he were a democrat, I could vote for him a couple of times!

    • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Move to Chicago or the suburbs, you are allowed to vote as long as you can get to any and every polling station….

    • rlbybee

Give me a break. Santorum is such a loser

      • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

        You are sooooo deep

      • stevenbiot

If Santorum is a loser, what regard do you have for the current president?

      • keyesforpres

LOL. I can see the fans of Mr. Good Hair and probably some O fans are swarming the board. They always show up when Sarah makes an appearance.

You know who they fear by who they target.

Thanks for targeting Rick……we now know who you fear.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Really? All because he said a curse word to the media? Youre the kind of guy we do not need voting in the GOP. Luckily Santorum no longer has deep south ding dongs to keep him alive.

      • stevenbiot

Despicable partisan media cursed out = winning!

      • keyesforpres

Deep south ding dongs? I guess you’ve never been to the south.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I know plenty of “ding dongs” down here who are proudly supporting Rick.

      • http://twitter.com/Bobbie227 Bobbie

EXCUSE ME, I’m in the deep south and I resent your “ding dong” comment! We are every bit as smart as YOU.

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

          I’d say smarter ;-)

    • Trust1TG

I’m still for NEWT, but resent the media jumping on every word as a ‘gotcha’ – so I cheer Sarah Palin for standing up for them.

NEWT has put the media in their place many times now…but he has not let them bait him like Santorum does.

Santorum needs a new set of inner rules for his public statements and interchange/demeanor with the media.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tom-Camp/1608442478 Tom Camp

All conservatives, when faced with a clearly biased question from a reporter/pundit, should respond by saying “You should be ashamed of yourself” and point out their bias.

And getting a bit angry will only make a deeper impression. It shows fortitude rather than wimpiness.

Quit letting these guys get away with it.

    Sarah does get it.

    • Jo15

Getting angry publicly is NOT A SIGN OF A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE – a Street Thug perhaps..but not a candidate for a Leader Position for this country. Sorry.

      • sntduke

Yea I get we want a Stable President , But he wasn’t exactly throwing chairs at them. Its about time . I saw a candidate with a little passion. the way I see it . If I were at work and a fellow employee was way off the resevation at work I would call him out. The only thing Santorum could have done better was leaot BS and it would have been perfect. Said exactly the right thing. These Media people are not our friends and they are going to write whatever they want reguardless. Now that reporter has been called out on his manipulation and Santorum changed the whole story.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

The media wants Santorum to win, the weaker candidate and I wouldnt be surprised if they are manipulating this a little bit to get him in favor with the far right..

          • c4pfan

The media wants Santorum to win? Boy, you are really living under a rock!

Mitt Romney has just about every ‘conservative’ talk show talking head telling Rick to drop out!

            • PapaLouie

I didn’t know Rush and Levin called for Rick to drop out. However, when Douglas referred to “the media” in his comment, what made you think he was talking about conservative talk shows? Do you think conservatives make up the bulk of the MSM?

            • GEDouglas

The media = the left. Yes, they want Santorum big time. Santorum does well with a specific type of voter and we see that in the primaries…good for him. However, the country that will vote in the general will overshadow Santorums loyalist. IMHO he would lose the general to BO. As bad as conservatives want a true conservative Romney’s inability to get that across is exactly why he will beat BO. And, more than anything else…MORE than anything else BO NEEDS TO GO! (hey that’s a nice little bumper sticker there)

              • keyesforpres

Nah. They want Romney because he won’t be able to argue Obama-no-care.

            • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_E4C65QOIQ4XH67F6MEHWTXGODY Alan

Wrong! I haven’t heard Hannity, Levin or Rush telling Santorum to get out.

I don’t know who you listen to, but in my opinion, the three I mentioned are the conservative “talking heads.”

            • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1245075254 Jim Haynes

Because they know that if Romney gets selected and then beats Obama, they will have the same kind of presient as Obama.

      • stevenbiot

At least he doesn’t have his press secretary stop the meeting when he gets a bit flustered. Remember Obama doing just that?

      • yankeefan1

When one reporter criticized his daughter’s singing, Harry S Truman wrote him a letter saying that if he ever met him, that the reporter would need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below! So I guess old Harry wasn’t Presidential material? C’mon…

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=783970270 Dawn Elizabeth Slike

Oh bruddah. Go to some history books that actually publish authentic history and look at the swear words presidents used when exasperated by idiot media and button-pushing world leaders. And you don’t think NOBAMA has his own little black book full of crapola words?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Palin does not get it. Santorum just made himself seem unpresedential in every way. Yes, they need to stand up to the media, but Santorum was just straight losing his mind.

      • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Palin did not get it??? Seriously, it was not only the media but the fact Romney has one of his goons (campaign person) feeding this junk and the media having no problem carrying his water (until election).

If any person understands what Santorum is facing, Palin is that person.

      • keyesforpres

LOL. Am I to guess you are a supporter of Mr. Good Hair?

      • http://twitter.com/Bobbie227 Bobbie

Oh, but I bet you like Chris Christie and the way he talks back when he doesn’t like what someone says!

    • PapaLouie

I really don’t get how the question was biased. As much as I dislike liberal reporters, this guy only quoted from Santorum’s speech where he clearly said, “Pick any other Republican in the country. He is the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama.”

Maybe Santorum expects everyone to read his mind, but there is no context about Romneycare in his statement. So what’s wrong with reporters asking him to clarify his comments? Aren’t they more likely to distort what he meant if they don’t get a clarification? Why was he so touchy and defensive about the opportunity to clear up a misunderstanding?

As a Christian he should treat others as he wants to be treated. If he doesn’t want to have his comments used against him, he shouldn’t do that to his opponents. He is certainly willing to distort the Etch-A-Sketch comment and use it to his advantage, and that comment didn’t even come directly from Romney.

      • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Hear this one before! Let’s see, Santorum spoke that comment during his speech about healthcare, obamacare, and Romneycare. So your statement is at best disingenuous.

What video were you watching? He tried answering the “reporter’s” question twice and the “reporter” was not going to take his answers. And, he never stated that the etch-a-sketch comment came directly from Romney….

You seem to be fitting into the Mitt camp quite nicely.

    • Trust1TG

      Yep – NEWT-ralize them.

  • http://twitter.com/keithbarry1959 keith barry

im not a santorum fan..but on THIS issue, i am a huge santorum fan. good on ya rick! (not precisely sure what that means, but it sounds encouraging).

    • finallygotit

As I tell my teens: “Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

      I am not a Santorum fan.. but…

      • c4pfan

I’m not a FAN. I am a person who knows a liar like Mitt Romney! I actually look what their stands are and Mitt pushed for FEDERAL mandates.

        • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

Prove to me that he is a liar. Again, you are just parroting what you have heard from talk radio. Doesn’t make it true.

          • c4pfan

            No, it’s not.

          • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Ummm, just look at any video where he states that he governed as a conservative. There are lots of those out there.

          • keyesforpres

Oh my David, you should go thru the archives here and look at videos of Mitt. In one he is telling the dems to use Romneycare as their guide when they were hobbling Obama-no-care together.

      • stevenbiot

Sounds like pneumonia, or COPD. Get that checked out.

I feel like I’m nit picking but I can’t help notice the pic of Sarah Palin used on this post, it’s just very unflattering to me and made her look like some crazy eyed lady. And I think Sarah is Awesome!

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ The Right Scoop

She looked excited when it was larger. Not always easy to pick out the perfect screenshot.

Awwww. Chin up RS! We love you all of the time!

          • Nukeman60

If it’s any consolation, Scoop, the only time I’m dissatisfied with TRS is when my local server goes down. Then I can’t peruse it. You should be able to do something about that. :)

    • BMinPA

Sad to say but she often looks like that these days. Kinda gaunt and, well, “witchy”.

      • http://twitter.com/helensharvest helensharvest

She looks like EVERY Patriot looks—MAD! MAD at losing our Country to a marxist our supposed Tea Party Congress won’t impeach!!! GGGRRR!

    • finallygotit

I agree…you do kinda sound like you’re nit picking [imo]

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Why do you think Sarah is awesome? A lot of men like her because they think she is hot for her age. However, she knows very little about policy when asked direct policy questions.

      • c4pfan

She knows little about policy? Who do think created the Drill Baby Drill mantra…or Death Panels? Sarah was front in center in all of this after the 2008 elections!

You RINOs need to stop and read Sarah’s facebook posts and many speeches she’s made over seas.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

You need to read Going Rogue or watch Undefeated, I’m very impressed with Sarah Palin. I want someone who is proven to do what is right for the people. I don’t really care for some devil in the details policy stab the people in the back hack.

        • Trust1TG

The Undefeated is a great and inspirational movie – well done! I loved Levin and Breitbart’s narration…the scenery, the story, the characters…what a brave, strong, courageous, compassionate, true and – real – lady.

      • librtifirst

I think that she could do pretty well if she was running for office as an independent candidate. I don’t think that she is stupid. She is making a living as a pundit, and in so doing, she mostly uses generalities. This keeps her fairly neutral in an election year so that she doesn’t get diminished as a future candidate.

        • keyesforpres

She is smart enough to know that if she runs as an independent, O gets back in. She loves this country too much to do that.

          • librtifirst

I was referring to her running independent of the establishment, not necessarily as an independent. I didn’t really make that clear.

            • keyesforpres

That would still help to get the usurper back into office.

              • librtifirst

I believe that you are right. The establishment elects them for us, so it doesn’t really matter who runs, and if they don’t run the fraud in your favor, you don’t get in. If they want Obama back in, he will stay in. It seems to me that they wouldn’t put Romney in the front if they wanted Obama to stay in, and that is one reason I think that they will actually give it to Obamney in the end. The press seems to be in lock step with the political establishment in supporting Obamney as well.

        • http://twitter.com/Bobbie227 Bobbie

Honestly, I think she could do quite well running now! After all, hasn’t she already been “vetted” by the left? She passed that with flying colors! What else could they try to use to challenge her? Of course, they do come up with some pretty wild stuff!! But, I bet Sarah is ready to face them head-on now.

          • librtifirst

She should have ran, if she wants to at any point. She has as much political capital as she will likely ever have, and the contrast between her and the incumbent is not likely to ever be as great.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/4WN2CXGUVVTZGLGCVLTOUN5N2Q Jack

For the past three years Sarah Palin has worked tirelessly to fight Obama’s policies and elect conservatives; Sarah Palin was #1 in the fight and she basically spearheaded the 2010 victory with her endorsements and rallies all over the country.

Sarah Palin has repeatedly offered serious policy statements on issues such as health care, the Federal Reserve’s money printing in funding our federal deficit,
        crony capitalism, energy independence, etc)

She was the first Republican to make a high-profile critique of the Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing, though even earlier she had marked the collapsing value of the dollar as one of her issues.
Sarah Palin has discussed more policy specifics in her speeches and through her writing than anyone else in the 2012 field!

        • http://twitter.com/helensharvest helensharvest

She is literally fighting for the life of her baby! Do you understand what a normal Mom would do for her baby? NOT abort it, but rather DIE for it!

          • librtifirst

Sorry to have to say it, but “kill for it” as well. Dying doesn’t do much good for the baby.

      • keyesforpres

Enlighten us on Mitt’s policy positions.

        • librtifirst

He supports this and that. Wait, no I never said that. That wasn’t what I meant, it was a matter of the state doing it vs the federal government, not whether it is right or wrong. I mean it wasn’t right but it is. Well, you know what I mean, I’m the most conservative corporate crony, I mean person with business experience. The big banks support me, and they know how to run a business. I mean, I don’t know what I mean.

          • keyesforpres

Well, I think I understand his positions now!

    • http://twitter.com/helensharvest helensharvest

The press has to search hard to find an ugly pic of our beautiful heroine, eh?

Even harder for them to find wrong words she says, but they won’t quit trying, showing whose side they are REALLY on, and it AIN’T Liberty’s!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

I feel like I’m nit picking but I can’t help notice the pic of Sarah Palin used on this post, it’s just very unflattering to me and made her look like some crazy eyed lady. And I think Sarah is Awesome!

  • http://twitter.com/ningrim Jose

I’m all for Santorum promoting himself and his ideas. But tearing down Romney benefits no one at this stage in the race.

These news shows will give him as much TV time as he wants to go after Romney.

    • Asian_chic

Has Romney reached 1144 yet? If not, he is not the nominee and if you have forgotten, we are still in a general election.

      • http://twitter.com/ningrim Jose

but he will be the nominee, so attacking him only helps Obama

Romney could have trashed McCain until he got to 1144, but instead gracefully stepped aside for the good of the party. Even Huckabee didn’t attack McCain while he stayed in the race.

        • Asian_chic

Could have? That’s so laughable! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV5UWGS4Pkw

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Romney stepped asside and then gave his resources to McCain… Something tells me Asian_Chic is one of those evangicals that doesnt care if Obama gets elected, as long as its not Romney.

            • c4pfan

So what. I don’t care what Mitt did for John McCain. This is about this country getting real and stop playing games with the debt.

            • Asian_chic

Yeah, he cares so much for the country that he pushed Obamacare on the rest of the country! Why do you think we are trying to fight this stupid mandate in Supreme Court?

        • JRD1

Drudge is in the tank for etch-a-sketch.

A primary vote for Romney is a vote for Obama in the general.

Romney will lose to Obama for the simple reason that Obama will win the states that Romney won in the primary.

Do the math. The wizards of smart messed up again. You don’t have to go to Harvard to figure this out. It common sense.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Except polls show Romney beating Obama and Obama beating Santorum.. the same polls that have correctly called all of the states… ?????

            • c4pfan

No they don’t. There are polls that show that Obama will beat both with Santorum doing better than Mitt in swing states and %.

              • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

And what polls would they be? Rasmussen and Gallup are the two most respectable polls, and they show Mitt beating Obama. The also show Mitt bringing states like Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and New Hampshire in play. Granted, Mitt is still down in North Carolina and Virginia. But I truly believe they too will be back in play by November.

            • Trust1TG

Go ahead, vote for a liar, corrupt ruthless robber (of taxpayer dollars and pension funds) businessman and politician.

The more you dig with Romney – the more dung and sewage you uncover.

He’s a pretty face with a dirty sinful unrepentant deceitful interior.

        • sDee

Not attacking Romney is inexcusable for a conservative. Romney represents everything that is wrong with the Republican party and how it has aided and abetted the Progressive assault on the Constitution and our liberty. I resent that – deeply.

Romney represents all that is wrong with our government with an (R) after his name. He spends hundreds of millions of dollar to literally crush true conservatives who could actually lead the fight to save the Republic. He learned well from his old man who destroyed Goldwater and did his best to destroy Ronald Reagan.

If the Republican party had defended the Constitution, small government, and been supporting true conservative candiates over the past 40 years instead of incubating socialists and progressives, we would never have placed a marxist in the White House. Now they expect us help replace the marxist with the epitome of big government Progressives.

This Romney pile stinks. It will stink all the way to the convention. You can’t change that.

          • StrangernFiction

            Spot on sDee!

          • rlbybee

The Santorum pile majorly stinks!! Get Santorum out of there! Go Mitt Romney, the best candidate since Reagan.

            • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

              Truth tanslation: Romney stinks.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Santorum is a TRUE CONSERVATIVE? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA… Wow.. if you call yourself the true conservative then I guess you are in the eyes of the far right. The fact is that the far right is not the only group that is to be represented in government.. but go ahead and try to win without moderate conservatives… If you keep calling us moderate conservatives socialist.. we are going to put you back in the minority for the next 40 years again.

            • c4pfan

Mitt created Romneycare and pushed for a Federal Mandate. That’s not Conservative.

              • Trust1TG

Romney was documented as lying at least eight times in the last two debates…on stage, in front of millions.

As Newt says, Romney is severely non-factual.

            • Garym

Conservatives make up 41% of the electorate according to Gallup. It is idiot moderates like you that help the progs win elections. Mitt Romney sucks as a candidate. He is the originator of Obamacare.

            • KenInMontana

Your empty threats read almost exactly like the Paul zealots back at the beginning of the primary.

        • BMinPA

Some good that did. Just ask President McCain.

After watching the party in action this past year, I really don’t care a fig for the good of the party. What most of us care about is the good of our families and of America. When the party gets in the way of that, it must take the consequences.

I think you are wrong in your last statement. If Romney gets the nomination, I will hold my nose and vote for him, like most good conservatives would do. There was a poll on this and it was overwhelming that conservatives would vote for Romney if he was the nominee! Anything to beat Obama!!

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/VNYSALCJWXWHB4TV2AXW5VFYBU TJ

At this point as was in the beginning, Romney has the same record he did as the one Santorum’s been pointing out. Better to point it out now while there’s still the opportunity to get someone who would present a much sharper contrast with Obama on big issues- big issues such as individual health care mandating, bailing out wall street and mandating cap and trade(sharp contrast with Obama- Santorum) rather than someone (Romney) who gives big issues away because he has a record of having been on the same side as Obama on them.

At this point if Romney becomes the nominee, you help Obama. But Romney isn’t the nominee right now.

oromneycare will NOT be the Republican nominee..he can’t buy it, because there are enough principled Christians who oppose him…NOT because he’s a mormon, but because he’s a lib!

Just like we oppose obama, not because he’s black, but because he’s a radical communist!

Almost know candidate has ever hit 1144 this early. Infact, I cannot remember the last time someone hit 1144 this early. With that said, more politicians have the good sense on when to drop out like when Romney did in 08 when he realized it was impossible to get to 1144. Thats when you were introduced to Palin. The longer this goes on, the better Obamas chances.. which is why the media has played this game of 1 step forward and 1 step back… and you folks are feeding it.

Obama and Hillary took the primary to june. As mentioned above, Romney has won all the states that he is sure to lose to Obama and other than Florida, has lost all the southern states so far. He is a weak candidate.

I’m for tearing down the “Father of Socialized Medicine” in this country at any time and any place. If Etch-a-sketch was a serious “severely conservative” candidate he would have admitted in the beginning of his campaign that Romneycare was a huge mistake. Instead, in typical leftist fashion, he doubled down and tried to mince words and spin it.

However, it is the smarmy, condescending way he attempts to shove his socialized medicine garbage down conservatives throats that is beyond the pale and elitism on steroids.

Etch-a-sketch should have challenged Obama for the Democrat nomination. That is the party to which he really belongs.

I agree in tearing down a leftist whether they have a D or an R after their name.

This election is not about Democrat versus Republican. It is the political class against the country class. Contrary to what etch-a-sketch tries to spin and how he tries to rewrite history he has been a politician for a long time and a losing one at that.

      • keyesforpres

          • Trust1TG

Santorum was and is a politician. He endorsed Romney and Specter for reasons unknown. He was wrong to put his name in the ring with theirs and it diminishes his trustworthiness.

I like Santorum’s social conservatism, but he is not as politically and economically conservative as Newt.

Newt shows exactly how Santorum’s and the BUSH Republicans led to increased deficts, debt and Obama: http://www.redstate.com/newt_gingrich/2012/03/19/yes-past-performance-does-indicate-future-results/

You far right coservatives have become so wretched and stinky that you are now trying to outcast those who are not. A Republican who ran the most liberal state in the union yet still has a conservative record more conservative than that of earmark santorum, arlen spector santorum.

SANTORUM has been the most revolting, and whiney candidate we have ever had. He looks like he is going to break out in tears at any moment. He has lashed out with crazed accusations again and again… but in the end, he is done. he wont win, and Romney is going to show you what a true conservative is…

    • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

So, do you like the way Romney has been running his campaign?

Santorum has been attacking Romney’s ideas and positions on the issues facing us from day one. He has not done the scorch earth, demolish with the personal attacks. When the opportunity came to do so, he took the high ground.

Romney stands in front of the camera and lies with not a care in the world even knowing that he will get caught because of his arrogance, “knowing” that this is just a formality and that he will get the “nod”.

The moderate/establishment has to go for the good of the country, and if Mitt loves the country as much as he claims, he should bow out knowing full well that he has no record to run on in contrast to the O

every time you turn around Santorum is paranoid and suggesting Romney is working with someone to cancel him out…

          …of romneys businesses which are uniquely conservative…‘ – d

Uniquely conservative? If I ran my businesses the way Romney ran Bain Capital, I would have to switch my religion to Catholic, just so I could go into the confessional for a week’s stay. Romney was a leveraged buyout expert. Made him a lot of money, but I wouldn’t want my President running American companies into the ground like Damon. Obama already has done that with GM.

        • JRD1

Romney is a bold faced liar and has been caught on video lying repeatedly. In typical leftist fashion you all repeat the double speak. Join the Democrat party. It is where double speak belongs.

    • sDee

Romney promotes nothing but a false narrative to hide his progressive record of big government growth. He has no ideas, just campaign slogans. He goes after Hussein Obama with a wet noodle just like McCain did.

I guess I’m not seeing what was so bad about Santorum’s words. He was telling it as he saw it, and he called it bullshit, because that’s what it was. What’s so terrible there? I prefer someone who just tells it like it is and calls people out when it needs to be done. Seems okay to me.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Santorum insulted his candidates in 3 of his elections and often cited the media as ganging up on him. He’s always been kind of disturbed…

    • PapaLouie

Bill Mahr calls people out and tells it as he sees it, too. Does that seem okay to you as well?

Santorum is the one saying he is pro family and will enforce obscenity laws all over the country. He should at least give himself a timeout for not being able to control his tongue in a public forum, don’t you think? Or is family friendly language only expected of everyone else?

      • K-Bob

Are you seriously thinking the word “bullsh*t” isn’t used in strong, Christian families? What is it with people thinking there’s like a 13th commandment that says, “thou shalt not say words invoking excrement”?

It’s “adult” language, for sure, since children need to learn to control their tongues before speaking. But that doesn’t mean you never use the term.

Just because some Romneybots don’t understand Christians doesn’t mean everyone else is plagued with similar ignorance.

        • Asian_chic

          Made my night!

        • keyesforpres

That’s great! I might have to use that sometime!

Maybe Santorum should have held his hands out in a “funny” way, and declared, “I invoke excrement upon you!” in that scary, Christian voice.

            • keyesforpres

Now that would have sent them into convulsions.

Obama colluding with the enemy/Russia….not so much.

            • Asian_chic

I’m stealing this from you. lol

              • K-Bob

Uh, don’t tell ‘em where you got it!

        • PapaLouie

You’re not seriously saying that children are the only ones who need to learn to control their tongues before speaking, are you? What I’m saying is that such language doesn’t belong in public or around children. I don’t want such language used around my grandchildren whether it be in family TV programs, on the news, at church, or in a public interview by someone who wants to be President. The inability to bridle one’s tongue is not a sign of “good, strong character.” If you and Palin think it is, you disagree with the Bible:

James 3:10 – Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Psalms 39:1 – …I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

          • K-Bob

I certainly did not say that. I support strong efforts at finding alternative vocabulary for vituperative purposes. However, I’m not going to castigate any man (verse with stones anyone?) for using coarse language when the situation merits it. And that is not a disagreement with the Bible at all.

Christian striving to be “more” is not what salvation is about. The striving to be more is what living is about. They are two entirely separate things.

      • Nukeman60

Santorum called out the reporter on what the reporter said. Rick said ‘the action’ was BS. Maher, on the other hand, quite flipantly (and regularly) calls ‘people’ various four letter words. If you don’t see the difference, then it’s not really worth explaining. He does it for show. Rick pointed out the reporter’s error in exasperation after trying to get him to understand the fallacy.

  • Sheya

As I noted in my comment in the other thread, In hind sight what Santorum did was a good thing, it avoided the “Santorum: Romney is the worst republican” headline. While I’m glad he did it, it shows is a guy who has just about had it with the media crap and is not afraid to take them on. But to say it reveals good and strong character is a bit of a stretch.

    • StrangernFiction

Attacking a leftist certainly doesn’t reveal weak character.

      • Jo15

Ignoring him would have elevated Santorum, rather he behaved like a schoolyard bully…He lost lots of points with many of us here in my big circle of repubs.

        • Nukeman60

You have a ‘big circle of repubs’? Interesting. Can I get one of those? I used to go to a pub, but since it closed, I could never figure out where they recircled them.

          • K-Bob

Right. You want to go with that just one comment away from the guy who goes full-troll? Why do you think he’s gone now? For “presenting facts?”

And I’m just wondering how far to the left a person has to be to think “pride” informs the decision in this most crucial election since the Civil War? If you think we are operating based on something as foolish as emotion, then you seriously do not understand what Conservative philosophy or Constitutional originalism are. As Mark Scott used to say, “I think you could use an epistemological housecleaning.”

        • Asian_chic

Maybe because they all “look” alike? lol

      • keyesforpres

Perhaps you never understood what Sarah meant when she said you could see Russia from places in Alaska.
        Let me explain.

Because of the close proximity to Russia the Alaska National Guard is on call 24/7.

Because of the close proximity to Russia, the governor of Alaska is privy to national security secrets and must be able to keep those secrets.

Because of the close proximity to Russia, the governor of Alaska has defense missiles on their soil.

Because of the close proximity to Russia, Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile defense shield.

Alaska is the only state that borders on two countries, thereby giving the governor of Alaska foreign policy experience.

  • toongoon

I think Bull$h!t was a very kind way of putting it. I probably would have used a profanity filled diatribe and been all over him, and I rarely swear. Sarah is right on again.

    • Jo15

Sarah is a brainless person who is a Wannabe…and is totally not significant..better she sit on her porch in Alaska and watch for missiles from Russia.

      • keyesforpres

Well, Obama did tell the Russians yesterday to be patient. He is trying to give them our missile defense shield technology. O did say we could absorb another terrorist attack. With the way he’s selling us out there is a real possibility there could be a missile over Alaska after the election.

It’s the third time I was asked that question in the matter of four minutes,” Santorum told Blitzer on CNN’s Situation Room.

    http://theothermccain.com/2012/03/26/why-was-ny-times-reporter-jeff-zeleny-doing-romney-campaigns-bidding/

    • CQ50

Excuses, excuses! Santorum is like that whiny kid in your neighborhood who blames everyone else. It’s everyone else’s fault because he has no money and he is not organized, or somebody asked him a question he wasn’t prepared for. He is not ready to be POTUS. Obama would chew him up and spit him out.

      • K-Bob

You don’t even know what you are talking about. He has money, and he’s not only organized, but he just crushed Romney in LA. I’ll bet the Tee shirt sales of Santorum saying “That’s Bullsh8!” will sell like hotcakes, too. People are furiously photoshopping them up as we type.

        • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

He crushed Mitt in LA? Mitt didn’t even spend money there. He made a token appearance one day. Meanwhile Rick got 10 delegates and Mitt got 5. Mitt has taken delegates in every single contest so far. Rick has been shut out in the following contests: Virginia, Massachusetts, Florida, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Maine, Vermont, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Marianas. And he will be shut out in the following future contests: DC, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, California, Utah, New York and New Jersey. Now who is the consensus candidate here?

          • K-Bob

Distraction isn’t an argument. He lost in double digits.

            • CQ50

And Rick still can’t get delegates when he wins.

              • K-Bob

                Mathematically incorrect.

                • CQ50

Rick only picked up a few more than Mitt in LA and not enough to challenge Mitt’s total. Check your math again.

                • K-Bob

                  Changing your claim?

          • keyesforpres

Token appearance, eh? Yup, that is Mitt’s attitude all right. He can’t be bothered to meet face to face and allow non screened questions. Just a token appearance will do.
Yes, you are correct, he won all thos liberal islands. He keeps winning areas that will go to the dems in Nov.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

Wow, what a nut case… Did he really say that? He really is paranoid. He accused Foxnews of conspiring against him with Romney one day and Foxnews was like “weve run 60% negative reports for Romney to 40% positive for Santorum and Santorum had been on more than Romney. like 3 to 1 as much.

      • c4pfan

You would have to be out of it not to see that Mitt is the supported candidate.

        • keyesforpres

60 to 70% of the votes have been “not Mitt”.

      • keyesforpres

Probably because Mitt does not like to be on shows where he is asked questions point blank.

If I’m not mistaken, that was a Samurai sword standing in the corner over her left shoulder. I think Sarah could do a good job using that to slash the national debt and all the overspending in Washington, should she get the nod at the convention (not to mention a good way to keep the idiot media from spewing too much BS in front of her). Go Mama Grizzly.

  • finallygotit

    Very presidential!

  • Jo15

SANTORUM IS AN IDIOT – NOT A ROLE MODEL for my children…He is not a leader, not presidential..a spoiled Washington INSIDER who doesn’t know how to handle his anger…probably beats his kids..did you see how his daughter was scared and backed away, actually ducked and was biting her nails…probably has seen his anger lots of times since a little girl…real signs of verbal and emotional abuse…I know I am a child counsellor…Yikes..get him away from govt and any RED BUTTON…Scary Guy

        • keyesforpres

Uncalled for? You falsely accuse Rick of beating his kids and you have the audacity to call sDee’s very reasonable response to you repulsive? You have no business being a counselor. Anyone that falsely accuses someone of beating their children has no business counseling our children.

Media correspondents like that guy have broken all the trust of the people in this country. They print lies and promote the agendas for some very evil people who are destroying our liberty and the freedom of our children. They are propagandists of the worst kind.

They do not deserve respect. They deserve to rot in he11.

There are better ways to deal with the media than to use an expletive right in front of your family. I’m sorry. I am sure will not disagree. But this kind of behavior just helps to reinforce the idea that the GOP is the angry party. Not a great way to attract independents and Democrats to your cause.

        • toongoon

Read this slowly to take it in: Independents are wishy-washy and not who the Republicans need to win, Democrats are not going to vote Republican! And try to win over the voters who have been given all the free stuff.

Once, in a tournament in South America (I can’t remember his opponent off the top of my head), and sitting at the potential winning game, he opened with P-Q4. The opponent, broken and stressed out, resigned!

The fact is that Romney is the father of Obamacare and put in public statements on TV and print that Obama should adopt it. Obama did and now Mitt is saying he will ‘tweak it’ and not even admit to getting rid of it all!

Santorum was the author of medical saving accounts and has laid out a plan that would meet pro-free market ideas.

Mitt also lied when he said that English should be the country’s official language and then turns around and said to Puerto Rico that they wouldn’t have to have English as the official language to become a state where he wants English to be the official language!

The man created the first mandate and carbon omissions and gave MONEY to Planned Parenthood. Doesn’t should conservative in anything social or ecomonic.

        Are you?!

        • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

I am definitely for Romney. He is the most conservative of the bunch, despite all the Sarah talking points you believe. You all distort his record. I have voted Republican my whole life, starting with Ronald Reagan. Mitt is exactly the kind of candidate we need now to fix the economic mess we are in. None of you are willing to objectively research his record because you just fall in line with the haters. Romney is more conservative than Ronald Reagan was when he ran for POTUS, but few of you are willing to see that.

Santorum is far more liberal than Romney. I lived in Pittsburgh for almost 20 years. I know Rick. There was not a spending bill that he didn’t like. He was very well known around Pittsburgh for his earmarks. When he first came into politics, he was an Elsie Hillman protege. Google her name. She was an extremely social lliberal national committeewoman for the GOP. Rick too was pro-choice early in his career. He changed his position. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. But when Mitt says he has changed his mind on a position, you all call him a flip flopper. Has to go both ways. Why was Romney the conservative alternative in 2008 but not today? Why did Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity and all the others push for him back then. You are a bunch of lemmings that just parrot what you hear from the shock talk radio jocks. They want this continue because they want ratings. They also want their gal to get the nod from a brokered convention. In 2008 the Mormon Mitt Romney was not a threat. But today he is. So they oppose him. I doubt any of you have objectively looked at his record. Romneycare is NOT Obamacare. The Heritage Foundation was his advisor. Massachusetts Republicans love their healthcare. Mitt has been very consistent in saying that healthcare is a 10th Amendment issue. What works in Massachusetts may not work in idaho. So there you have it. Flame away.

          • K-Bob

Romney does not have the temperment to be the same person from one week to the next.

But he does love him some Romneycare. That will save the day.

And by “save the day” I mean, “offer the voters no choice in November.”

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

He was considered more conservative than McCain, that’s why everyone was pushing for him last time. The only thing that made McCain was when he picked Sarah Palinfor VP. The only reason mittens is in it now is because he thinks it’s his turn now. You bring up earmarks do you? You ever see this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yR_Mn4Skt4&feature=youtu.be

          • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

So when a gov, goes to DC to get money via earmarks that is okay???

I read that research is difficult so I will provide a link for you to clink, read, and enjoy. http://massresistance.org/romney/

I know you will have a hard time with this since you a)want us to believe you about Santorum because you are from PA but b) will dismiss the info from the link though they are from MA.

Can’t wait for your spin on this, it should be fun and I hope you do not disappoint.

          • keyesforpres

10th amendment issue? The 10th amendment does not give state gov’ts totalitarian authority. NO gov’t has the right to force us to buy a product.

I lived in MA after Romneycare got passed and they do NOT love Romneycare. It has driven the price of insurance up. Ma has the highest insurance rates in the country.

I have no problem with someone changing their mind over time after learning the facts, but Mitt will say one thing in front of one audience and then something else to another audience. Puerto Rico ring a bell?

Scoop has posted numerous videos of Mitt that are quite disturbing. You should go thru the archives here and look at some of the things he says.

By the way, his complete lack of understanding, or perhaps total disregard for the 10th amendment, is what is so disturbing about him. Believing state gov’ts can do whatever they want is just tyranny closer to home.

He says states are test labs in democracy. Um no they are not. States are each sovereign republics. Our Founding Fathers would be appalled at Mitt’s total and complete distortion of the 10th amendment.

Santorum said exactly what the American public has been desiring to say to the media for a LONG time.

    • CQ50

I read the speech and saw the video. In all fairness, the reporter asked him to elaborate on his own words, and quoted him practically word for word.

      • John_Frank

Wrong. The NYT reporter deliberately misquoted Santorum.

P.S. The NYT reporter has a history of misquoting conservatives.

      • nibblesyble

This is the same reporter that asked Obama what he found ‘enchanting’ about the White House…ugh. He used Santo’s words but he knew the context in which he quoted the words..he is a typical liberal reporter. I don’t think Santo should have used the curse word, but he did have a right to be angry.

      • SaraPFan

In all fairness, Santorum has already responded multiple times to expound on his comment as he’d stated. In all fairness, Palin knows exactly what the setup is. During her Couric interview, Couric kept repeating the same questions over again about abortion even after Palin kept giving the same answer for two days. Maybe this is the result reporters are looking for instead of real facts….a blow up. I wonder if they ask Obama the same questions about Bill Ayers or his unregulated czars or financing Solyndra over and over again.

  • nibblesyble

I love me some Sarah, glad she supported Rick(although still think baloney would have been better) and glad she chooses to believe in someone besides Romney being able to pull this out.

  • finallygotit

Boy, could you imagine George Washington acting this way?

    • sDee

The Republic that Washington pledged his life, fortune and sacred honor to is under full assault from within by subversive, treasonous, globalists like Romney and Obama.

We have elected a tyranny more powerful and evil than the one he fought.

If George Washington were here he would not recognize this Nation. He would be furious at us for squandering the greatest experiment in individual liberty in history. He wouldn’t be cursing at press like this, he would be hanging them for treason.

  • Sparky5253

I can’t wait for Mitt to get in the White House and start letting some people go. And the poor do have a safety net. While I am struggling this last 3 years to keep a small business going the poor get food stamps, housing allowance, WIC, Medicaid, a welfare check, SSI, and educational assistance that I help pay for. I am not worried about the poor either.

Nice pat on the shoulder for Rick Santorum from Alaska’s stronghold of sainthood. For the sake of the proverbial fair share, the saint goes to Santorum, the hood to Obama.

I can’t believe this lady anymore. I used to respect her quite a bit. She is so way off anymore and so far to the right. She has no more credibility than the man in the moon IMO. Santorum has no more control than a little child. Anybody who can’t control his emotions in the type of public arena he is shooting for (President of the United States) , has no business even vying for it. Grow up, Santorum, and grow up, Sarah Palin. You are so off base anymore it is not even funny!

    • CQ50

Reagan also ran for POTUS three times.

    • sDee

If Reagan were here today, he would crush Mitt Romney like a bug in less than 3 sentences.

Mitt would run away crying like a little girl and launch a $100 million smear campaign against him. Just like his father George Romney actually did to Ronald Reagan because George was so far left that even moderate Republicans could not stomach him.

Read a bit before you spew stupid talking points.

      • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

Do you deny that Reagan raised taxes in California and was also pro-choice? He was also a Democrat. He changed. So did Mitt.

        • sDee

Reagan had character, principles and an understanding of the danger of big government.

Romney, is incapable of the truth, has no principles, will say what every he needs to get elected, destroys true conservatives with smear campaigns, and has spent his entire political career building big government and spitting on the Constitution.

Reagan was a true Constitutional Conservative. Romney is a Progressive. You are not going to convince anyone here otherwise. Go waste your time elsewhere. We are not stupid.

Do you dispute what I just posted about Reagan (whom by the way is my hero and the best president ever)? Did you know that Reagan raised taxes as POTUS? He did rail against it though. Can’t pretend he didn’t.

Mitt Romeny has brought no Conservative ideas to the table. Rick has with Welfare Reform and Health Care accounts.

          • librtifirst

So Rick wants us to have mandated health programs, OR mandated health accounts. Nice. When you live in a socialist society, I guess this is what you have to call conservative.

            • c4pfan

Huh? They are a choice. You guys are really funny! You want mandated Romneycare and not health choice?

              • librtifirst

I don’t view a mandated program as a choice. Call them health accounts and you get people to buy into another government program. No, I prefer that government get out of health care, and let me choose weather I want to provide insurance for myself, pay my own bills, or take the risk of dying without it. I have a word for this scenario that is not well understood anymore. I call it…………….freedom of choice.

In my favored scenario, insurance companies have to compete with each other anc can do so across state lines, and the medical industry gets to choose what they can and can’t do procedurally. This way, unhealthy people have an incentive to live healthy lives, insurance companies don’t have mandates and now have to compete for business rather than being guaranteed it by government, and I can afford to pay for my own medical care if I am willing to save a few bucks for it, which makes the insurance companies lower their premiums even further to compete for my business.

Not to mention tort reform, and the courts being disallowed to prosecute frivolous law suits, which saves the medical providers a lot of money. Now, the little doctor that practically gives his services away, can afford to.

Without government limiting the use of test equipment, and giving companies like GE unfair advantages, everyone will be making MRI machines, and the cost would come down.

If you understand how free markets work, and how government screws you at every turn, you might start gaining a health disdain for their “programs”, as I have.

Give me my federal income taxes back, and my social security tax, and I will be a rich man that can afford all the health care I would ever need in a free market healthcare society. Or, give it to the feds, to regulate every aspect of society, and use force to get the working class to pay for everyone else, which eventually shuts down all of society because government needs more than just my tax money to pay for it.

All the while, government keeps cures from being legal. Just ask doctor Brazinski who can cure many cancers.

                Or Charlotte Gerson:

                http://www.youtube.com/movie?v=sbIixJI_oa4&ob=av1e&feature=mv_sr

Our government kills many thousands of people every year with regulation alone. They send many more to the doctors with their corporate crony system that allows Monsanto and others to regulate the food supply by shutting down organics, raw food sellers, farm co-ops, and the pushing of deadly vaccines and GMO crops.

Keep trusting your government, and you will get what you don’t expect to get. Start distrusting them, and you will still likely get it, but you will at least expect it.

Which is all about the organization. Rather than whining about Romney’s money (which just indicates he support he has received) why don’t you guys put up a candidate who can put together a decent campaign. Let’s face it. Santorum is the last ABR standing. No one took him seriously before, so now due to attrition he’s the one you are clinging to.

              • c4pfan

Wrong. You seem to ignore (as usual) that Mitt gets his money from FUNDRAISERS from big money people and Santorum gets his from small donations. Sorry to hurt your feelings, but it’s true.

In fact, Mitt has to have a lot of Fundraisers to keep up with the amount of money they spend and he’s running out and that’s why the GOP people that need Romney for money are calling for Santorum to drop out.

He also relies on SuperPACS for his negative ads so he can keep his fake smilie face in place.

David, is fairness, Mitt has been running for 6 years, I would hope he has better organization and more money in the coffers. Santo deserves credit for being able to do what he has on a shoe string and a prayer, as does Newt.

      • CQ50

You would be calling Reagan a RINO if he was running. His record as Governor of CA with a Dem legislature was far more moderate than Romney’s.

        • c4pfan

Reagan isn’t the issue. The debt and reforming Social Security, etc are the issues. Mitt has been running for President since he didn’t run for a 2nd term as Gov.

Did you know that RR was a convert to pro life? Did you know that he actually helped sign into law a bill that helped to legalize abortion in CA!! He was duped-oh but how was that possible? Because he was human and far from perfect-as are all the candidates running for office. Obama is the focus-he needs to be removed in November.

        • c4pfan

What is needed is for people in DC and Mitt supporters to get real and start backing up their talk with action when it comes to Conseravtive causes. Stop using Sarah Palin to raise tons of money only to have posters here bash her due to their ignorance.

No, he told us he’d issue our state a waiver. Not all states.

You must not have seen the Attorney General of Florida, Pam Bondi, say a couple of months ago that if Mitt wins, she will work for him and they will install Romneycare in all 50 states! She actually said that.

        • keyesforpres

Again, Reagan admitted his mistakes. Romney won’t. Romney also refuses to focus on Obama. He said he would not attack Obama.

    • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

You are in complete error here. Unlike Romney, Reagan owned up to what he had done. If Romney was willing to throw his number one legislative piece under the bus, he would have wrapped up this nomination process. Instead he double down on it. What exactly has Romney done that is even close to being called conservative.

By the way, start listening to Reagan’s speeches vs. Romney’s and maybe you will start understanding what conservatism is.

You may want to check his record again, being graded by the conservative watchdogs. He scores high marks as a senator every year he was there. He even made it to number one and was ranked top three, but let’s not let facts get in the way.

By the way, does this mean you are going to argue that Romney is a fiscal conserv.? You may want to recheck his record.

                • CQ50

Santorum was known as the King of Earmarks. He can’t even get one endorsement from his home state of PA. He refused to move funding from his Bridge to Nowhere project to Hurricane Katrina relief right after the storm. He stuck PA with a tunnel project and built 2 stadiums for wealthy ballclub owners with federal tax dollars that the citizens of PA also had to pony up a percentage. They had to raise taxes in PA for this and had to do away with their own projects. He was voted one of the MOST Corrupt Politicians in DC twice by CREW, a conservative government watchdog group. He was ranked in first place for earmarks.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Now Santorum’s vote for a funding bill must indicate that he agreed with every single ear mark in it? Come on man, what type of logic is that. It is like RP saying he never voted for a spending bill, but made sure his earmarks were all in it.

So, did you vote against all of your representatives and senators who voted for any spending/funding bill? If not, you are bordering on hypocrisy since all of them voted for the same earmarks.

Oh, but not all of them??? By the way, voting for Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, or Paul will be a vote for someone who has/is supportive of earmarks…so I guess that would mean third party for you.

Santorum was known as the King of Earmarks. Do your homework. You obviously know nothing of his congressional record.

                • K-Bob

You must have missed the Robert C. Byrd years.

                • CQ50

Yes, I know all about Byrd. Just check Santorum’s last 2 or 3 years in the Senate. He was #1 in earmarks.

                • K-Bob

Earmarks are a bad way to legislate. But they are less than microscopic compared to the budget fiasco we face. In Santorum’s years, that’s how business in congress was conducted. Every single candidate from those years had earmarks. The farther up the leadership, the more earmarks. We knew about those long before he and Newt and Paul (all have their share of earmarks) got in the race. If Romney had been in congress, he’d have them, too, and you know it, just as we know it. As governor, he had plenty of chances to veto spending. He didn’t do that very often.

This, and other talking points have been beaten to death. Meanwhile we have one Moderate candidate who’s millstone around his neck is being the midwife of Obamacare, two major Conservatives that everyone wants to go out of their way to claim aren’t (and they always have to rely on the same few cherry-picked points while ignoring huge numbers of things supporting the conservative cause), and we have one fiscal hawk/foreign policy nut who has last place named after him.

Romney paved the way for Obamacare. If he’s the nominee, Obama will coast to victory reminding you of that every single day.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Big Dig. Romney was great at getting federal money for Mass.

“Oh, and if you believe CREW is a conservative watchdog group, you have no business commenting on political blogs.”

      • http://twitter.com/cfallon57 Cheryl Fallon

        YEP!!!

      • sDee

Here in the South we spell it “Southerner” and most of us have seen our share of slick double talking carpetbaggers like Romney. The last one who came ’round was half white and lied a whole lot better than Mitt.

        • CQ50

It is spelled both ways. You must be one of the religious bigots that make me ashamed of my region right now.

          • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

“Religious bigot” really? What in the world? Though I do not personally know sDee, none of their comments could be deduced as being bigotry.

If you want an honest discussion about Romney’s religious affiliation is one thing but throwing around the “bigot” word is just like Al Sharpton throwing around the “racist” word.

Another commonality between Mittbots and Obots, love to toss out the cards; evidence not needed.

            Shame!

            • CQ50

I am Southern Baptist and I know for a fact that many ministers in the South, especially small rural areas, tell their congregations that Mormonism is a cult.

              • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

And why would that be being “bigotry”?

                • CQ50

If I have to explain that to you, you clearly wouldn’t be able to grasp it so why waste my time.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Hmmm, so it is okay to call Christians bigot because Mormonism for its whole entire existence has been known to be a cult. It seems that you may need to dig into what we call ‘church history’. However being a SBC, that may be foreign to you unless you have had the privilege of being under the tutelage of Dr. Mohler or someone of his stature in the SBC.

Unfortunately, your ignorance of Mormonism does not seem to warrant such a connection.

                • CQ50

I was taught to have tolerance for other people’s religions. I have heard the same people call Catholic religion a cult. I have also heard arguments here in the South about the differences between a Southern Baptist and a Missionary Baptist. Besides, that has nothing to do with repairing our economy and providing jobs.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Being tolerant in your comment is different from calling a spade a spade or even understanding the term, “bigotry”.

For your understanding, I would not be allowed to call homosexuality a sin.

So then, instead of throwing around the “bigot card” why don’t you display some of that “tolerance” you claim to have on your SBC brethren. Or, is that only a one-way street with you.

I can and do respect a person no matter what their beliefs are. However, that does not mean that their “beliefs” cannot be held up to Scripture. If you don’t want to do this type of heavy lifting, that’s fine. Just don’t think that people have no clue what they are talking about when they rightly disagree with your assessment.

BTW – it is interesting how you continue to move beyond the scoop of our discussion of Mormonism. Are you going to do due diligence and look up some church history or are you just going to “whine” about what others do?

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Yeah, because sDee has just been spewing religion all over this thread. How is it not bigoted to claim just because one is from the south is a bigot?

        • nibblesyble

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/7IVVE3AMKOLHVJHWL6IJYNM7MU Douglas L

We tried the far right ticket with McCain and Palin. It alienated moderate conservatives who deserve to be represented too. Romney may not be a far right conservative but Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are not either…

WHO WANTS PROOF SANTORUM IS NOT A FAR RIGHT CONSERVATIVE??? Anyone?

    • K-Bob

      McCain is “far right?”

      Who knew?

      • sDee

        lol. Clueless bastards aren’t they?

        • K-Bob

I suspect most of ‘em are Obama-bots moby-lizing for Romney.

I’m for Mitt. Santorum is the one who endorses Obama.

            • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Wow, talking about taking people out of context….Anyway, if you want Obama-lite, go ahead. No one is stopping you.

If you like the direction we are going but want to slow down to see the sights, Mitt is your man. Glad to know!

              • CQ50

I didn’t take him out of context. Your guy needs to think before he opens his mouth.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Whatever! keep going to your drudge report for your attacks on Santorum. You did take him out of context. He never said he supports O, but you do not seem to care.

                • CQ50

He said everyone should just keep what we had in the White House instead of voting for Romney. It wasn’t out of context. I watched the video of his speech. Rick is going to learn that he is being taped.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Hmmm, so all of his other comments that he would vote for the Republican nominee should be left out in the cold….sorry, but context is bigger than you think.

                • CQ50

Yes, after he got called on that little remark he finally said he would vote for the Republican. What is more laughable is after all the comments he has made about Romney, he comes out today and said he would be Romney’s VP. What character!

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Sorry, but he has always stated (that means he would always do it) that he would voted for the Repub nominee. If you cannot recall these things fine, but just don’t assume that Santorum is speaking in a vacuum here.

So, if he said he wouldn’t be VP you would be all over him for not supporting the Repub ticket. Romney would say the same thing of Santorum as well.

                  This is too easy…next!

                • CQ50

Santorum makes Biden look smart. Trust me when I say I do not want Santorum as anything.

    • c4pfan

John McCain was never viewed as ‘far right’.

People like you and Mitt created a huge ‘crony capilist’ system that created the debt and housing bubble. The Utah Olympics are a perfect example.

      • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

FYI….the Federal government always helps fund security at the Olympics. Go back and look at the financials of the 1984 and 1996 games. I don’t understand how Mitt could be considered a crony capitalist. Care to explain? He certainly didn’t support the Bridge to Nowhere like your man Rick.

        • c4pfan

Mitt brought it to a new level. Even good old McCain railed against the WASTE of our tax dollars just to pay off the chosen ‘winners’. Get your head out of the sand.

          • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

You didn’t answer my question. I live in Colorado Springs and am pretty close to the USOC. I have facts to back me up. So I guess Reagan was a liberal for providing federal funding to the Los Angeles games?

            • c4pfan

Nope. I know that what this country is facing budget wise is different and what Mitt did vs Reagan is not the same.

This country is going to have to face some tough choices and your happy smilie face candidate isn’t going to deal with it.

              • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

Did we have a budget crisis in 2002?

          • CQ50

If we had had an incident in Salt Lake City right after 9/11, there would have been serious repercussions with many countries. My brother-in-law who is in law enforcement worked security at the Olympics that year and they were briefed daily about what to look for. It’s just been a few years and I can’t believe that some of you have forgotten the reverberations of that day.

        • Nukeman60

Do you even know what the ‘bridge to nowhere’ is? Have you just heard the phrase so much in the media, that you have to use it, not knowing the story behind it? I’m real tired of hearing this, what was it again Rick, oh yeah, BS.

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Nope, not the bridge to nowhere- but the big dig.

      • CQ50

Mitt didn’t create the housing bubble. Dems that wanted people to own houses they couldn’t afford caused it. Do your homework.

        • c4pfan

You’re a riot Douglas, I haven’t laughed this hard in days! Thanks!

    • Nukeman60

Wow, one of you bots tells me Palin went with McCain when Romney was more conservative, and now you say McCain was far right and you need to try something more ‘moderate’. Can’t you guys get your talking points right, or are you like Romney and always flip-flopping?

  • Asian_chic

This is really amusing. Flip Flopper gave them talking points since none of these people have a clue as to why they are supporting him. Not to mention the pure hatred for Sarah. It only goes to show that they are deathly afraid of her. If he had any b@lls, he would have said it to her face but instead, wets his pants, then sends his goons here.

    • sDee

All I can add to that is these mindless Romney bots may be fine representatives for the Governor, but if that is all he’s got, the candidate is more pathetic than even I thought.

Seriously, they are Robamney bots. It is impossible to tell them from obots.

      • Asian_chic

Where have we heard there is no difference…lol

      • CQ50

Again I state, when you lose in the battleground of ideas, you resort to namecalling.

        • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Hard to lose in a battleground of ideas when Romney does not have a single conservative one.

          • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

Sure he does. He has my vote. And you cared to listen to the exit polls, he is beating Santorum among every single group except for the extreme right Evangelical vote. I wonder why that is?

            • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

You may not know it, but you are proving my point…. So LA exit polls are what?

              • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

You need to read the exit polls from Ohio, Illinois, Florida, and Michigan. 77 percent or so of the voters in LA were extreme right Evangelicals.

                • CQ50

And the rest of LA is Catholic.

                • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

Right!!! OH and MI where mitten’s barely won or the blue state of IL that has never met a moderate that it did not like. So now we are down to FL vs LA. Sad thing, Santorum really did not campaign down there.

                  So, try again

              • CQ50

Most of the evangelicals are in the southern states. They will vote Romney in November. They will not take a chance on another 4 years of Obama. They are having their little protest vote now, but in the Fall they will vote Romney.

                • John_Frank

Hate to break it to people, but as matters stand today, if Romney is the GOP nominee, Johnson is the Libertarian nominee, and Huntsman is the Americans Elect Nominee, Obama will beat Romney by roughly 3 points.

Romney needs to earn the trust of the electorate. Posts in which Romney supporters presume that people will vote a certain way do a great disservice to their candidate.

                • CQ50

I think people remember what happened when they voted third party for Perot.

                • keyesforpres

I find it a real turnoff when Romney and his supporters tell us we will have no choice but to support him in November. Not a winning argument. I’d like to be able to support a candidate based on the issues.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

“They are having their little protest vote now, but in the Fall they will vote Romney.” Uhm, spoken like a true little comrade.

    • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

I have plenty of reasons to vote for Mitt. Unlike you, I have researched his record extensively.

      1) He is a fiscal conservative. He has demonstrated this over his career.
      2) As governor of Massachusetts, he inherited a $2 billion debt and turned it into a $3 billion surplus by the time he left.
      3) He took a scandal ridden Olympics and turned it into one of the biggest successes in the history of the Games. I am personal friends with the CEO of the United States Olympic Committee. Would you like a quote?
      4) He has worked in the private sector for more than 25 years and created successful companies that have produced thousands of jobs…..Staples, Sports Authority and Dominoes Pizza just to name a few.
      5) He has exhibited personal character throughout his career. He gave his inheritance away to charity. He is a self-made man.
      6) He has become more of a social conservative over his career. He vetoed a bill that was going to force embryonic stem cell research. He also vetoed a bill that would have forced the Catholic Church to allow gay couples to adopt from Catholic Social Services.
      7) Although many of you want to make Romneycare and Obamacare the same thing, they are not. Romneycare was and is very popular in Massachusetts. It did not raise taxes. It is a private sector initiative. The Heritage Foundation was the advisor.
      8) Mitt donates up to 15 percent of his income to charity. Can you say that about the other candidates?
      9) There are countless stories about his compassion for others. You probably were not aware of the young girl he rescued in New York who was the daughter of one of his associates of Bain.
      10) Mitt is a turn around artist. He understands the economy and markets better than any other presidential candidate in history, and that includes Steve Forbes.
      11) He is even tempered. I for one do not want an unstable person as President.

I could go on and on. We are not Rombots. We have actually taken the time to research the man.

      • Asian_chic

You fail to acknowledge my points and resort to an attack. I choose to use facts. And you choose to…..whatever.

          • Asian_chic

The bottom line is you don’t see what’s wrong with having a mandate. If you tell me he is from a blue state, that would only make my point that he does not have ANY principles. When the government can tell a church how to profess their faith, they can do anything! That’s exactly what your guy did. Just because he said it’s good at the state level, does not mean it’s Constitutional!

            • CQ50

Reagan was from a blue state.

              • keyesforpres

Yes, and he did not let that get in the way of being a true conservative. He did not institute mandates. He did not become limp wristed and say it’s cool to force folks to buy something because his state is liberal and he could get away with it!

          • Nukeman60

Your list was not facts, merely statements (ie, your opinion). When you show the ‘facts’ to back those statements, we will show you the links that refute them.

          • K-Bob

Here’s a hint, professor: this site has been around for a while. Your list of facts is nothing new to the engaged voters. Neither is the overuse of the term “whining” by you folks tonight.

It’s like a dog with a new toy. Give it a rest. It isn’t “facts,” nor is it reason. But it is boring.

Or maybe when he railed against the SuperPAC’s on BillO and somehow could not recall any SuperPAC on his side….

      • K-Bob

        “unlike you”

Nothing says “authority” like pretending to read minds.

      • Nukeman60

Well, if you had done any quality research, you would have known that we have researched and discussed all those points, ad infinitum, and found them lacking (and quite honestly, false). Quite some time ago, I might add.

So, ‘unlike you’, we are informed. Try researching other sites besides Romney’s home page. Might I recommend The Right Scoop. He features many threads about this with associated links. If you care to search, that is.

        • CQ50

Have you researched Santorum’s voting record? Have you checked out all his past mistakes? Just wondering.

          • Nukeman60

Well, let’s see. Romney is in the race, Santorum is in the race, Gingrich is in the race, Paul is in the race, and Obama is in the race. So, yeah, I researched their records.

But not to get distracted, I was referring to the list of false and misleading statements that your cousin made. Just redirecting with another question doesn’t really get those things addressed, now, does it?

                • KenInMontana

Relying on CREW for facts, suggests that you may want to do a bit more research on that organization.

I saved him the trouble and posted links about it to his comment above, but I guess he’s not interested in finding out they’re a liberal group.

I”m not going to spam the link, because I already posted it for you once- but clean out your ears and rub the logs out of your eyes- CREW is NOT a conservative watchdog group. They are liberal. If YOU are really interested, you will do the work to travel back through the threads for the links I posted. No one here takes anything CREW says seriously, so get over yourself.

      • wodiej

Romney increased user fees quite a bit to help balance the budget and not raise taxes while Governor. Ranked 47 out of 50 states for job creation. Closed loopholes on Chapter S corporations resulting in doubled tax rates from 5.3% to 9.8%

State spending $5 billion higher then when he took office.

Spent millions on pork projects like buying welfare recipients new cars.

Used executive order to implement gay marriage.

He gave state aid to 4 sanctuary cities that were harboring illegal aliens.

The Olympics were heavily subsidized by the federal gov’t aka taxpayers.

He has helped produced thousands of low paying part time jobs and has equally helped thousands lose their full time good paying jobs. In both cases, Romney walked away w plenty of cash for it.

Romneycare has made premiums of those paying out of pocket skyrocket to pay for those who don’t. It was subsidized by the federal gov’t aka taxpayer also.

Having compassion is a great quality-where was his compassion when he and Bain Capital were laying off thousands of workers?

When running Damon Pharmaceutical, it was classified as one of the top corporate crimes of the 90’s for fraud against medicare. They had Dr’s bundle tests that included unneeded ones so they could make more money. Romney admitted they knew about it and sold the company to Corning right before charges were brought. Corning showed integrity and revealed the fraud to authorities.

Romney is what he appears to be. Someone in a suit with no principled core on the inside. Save your Romney talking points-the group here does their research.

He did do some good things too like closing a $1.2 billion deficit, he vetoed an increase in the minimum wage and a card check system for unions. However when he left office, he had a 35% approval rating. The last year he was in office, he was absent 220 days.

So let’s be real about the facts. He did do some good things but some of the ones you are touting are shaky at best.

His church donates 20 million every year to an organization that funnels money to terrorists and he refuses to condemn it.

Private sector experience has often translated into being a bad president. What we need is someone who believes in overturning what O has done.

I don’t care if the Heritage Foundation bantered the individual mandate around. That is no excuse to institute it. I would think a private businessman would understand that.

Mitt turned the Olympics around with taxpayer money.

His advisor on the Middle East, Dan Senor, helped sned 100 million to Hezbollah.

Mitt said a few months ago that Islam is one of the world’s noble religions! He said jihad has nothing to do with Islam! He is clueless to the most dangerous threat we have!

This article is eye opening on Mitt.

  • librtifirst

Santorum just discredited himself as a decent, christian candidate. If the christian right doesn’t get turned off by this, then the christian right is losing their salt, if they haven’t already. I lost my affinity for cussing when I became a christian. In the last fifteen years, I have probably cussed three times. It wasn’t because I was annoyed, but rather because I was severely lacking spiritually and was much more angry than I would normally get. I felt really bad about it because I damaged my witness in front of non-christians. I apologized to them afterward, even though they were not offended.

This is the kind of event that is reminiscent of Bush saying “the constitution is just a GD piece of paper”. Santorum isn’t even as convincing as Bush was in his Christianity. The closer someone is to this kind of behavior, the more likely power will corrupt them, if they are not already.

Santorum is not the chosen one, so he will not be president. He may end up with a cabinet position though. The game is rigged for Romney, and we all know where that is going to end up. Obama will either get another term, or we will get Obamney. There is no winning scenario for the American people. Get ready for a collapse of our society. It is quickening.

    • Nukeman60

I’m going to have to call BS on your BS about Santorum’s BS comment. The reporter was way out of line, fishing for a soundbite, and full of BS.

      • librtifirst

Clever use of BS. I guess that I am a little more sensitive about people who publicly call themselves Christians, and then discredit Christ in the process. Santorum would do well to apologize for his language to his christian supporters. It would make him look much better to those who care about his choice of words. If you wouldn’t say it in church without apologizing, you shouldn’t say it in public without a like response. I am speaking purely as a christian. I tend to hold people who use Christ, or profess to be a follower, to a higher standard. I don’t judge the world for their use of language, just my own people in Christ. If he is a christian, then I have a biblical right to rebuke him. If he is not, then I do not. I am simply going off of what he says.

        • K-Bob

Well, that, and a heaping use of non sequitur.

Your view of Christianity is kind of skewed. He might like to consider apologizing for losing his cool, if he thinks that he didn’t meet his own standards, but where is the restriction on using the term “Bullsh*t” in proper, adult context?

          It’s coarse, but not un-Christian.

          • GiantM

It’s obvious you and Nuke just see it differently then we do and that’s fine. It is a choice we make. That’s all.

I believe what librtfirst is wanting to express is that, we just want to set a higher standard, and there obviously are different points of view and levels of standards that folks/Christians chose to live by. Some are higher than others.

In the end, it all comes out though. It really is all about who you serve as a B.A.C Christian.

          • librtifirst

The word s**t is simply defined as defecation. Therefor it does have a proper use. I believe that this term, culturally and historically, was used as a less acceptable vulgarity in describing manure, and thereby was considered to be a cuss word. I don’t see how a comment or statement can be described as being manure, or the act of defecation, without projecting vulgarity. Christians are told not to be involved in such things. We are to emulate Christ, and he was not a nasty or vulgar person.

There is no grey area with God. It is either right or wrong. If it is right, then we should do it often as we please. If it is wrong, then we should consider it sin. Jesus said that we have to be like little children to enter the kingdom of God. There is no adult vs adolescent context projected in biblical moral teachings concerning the use of language.

            • K-Bob

Well, that’s an excellent example of predicating salvation on perfection. Fortunately, that’s not the plan.

Grace has meaning. Apparently many critics of Santorum’s choice of words choose to ignore that most profoundly sublime aspect of the prime virtue.

        • Nukeman60

So, do you consider yourself as someone who discredits Christ, because you just used BS? And do you consider me unChristian because I used the word. I wouldn’t want to raise my voice in church, because it’s the house of the Lord, but that doesn’t mean I won’t or can’t raise my voice in public.

Santorum called a reporter out for what he was doing. It was BS and if he wasn’t a Presidential candidate running for office with a media looking to smear him for every little undotted i and uncrossed t, then it wouldn’t have been an issue. It’s an issue because the media makes it an issue.

BTW, if I were in church and someone came in with paint to throw all over the altar and the pews, the people and the pastor, I would grab them by the collar, tell them what they were doing was BS and toss them out on their ear in no uncertain terms. And yes, I would probably apologize to the Lord for my outburst because things are generally done differently in church than they are in the street.

I don’t think you have a biblical right to rebuke Santorum for what he said. He has to decide for himself whether what he said was too much or not.

          • Amy

Well, Jesus did pick a few tables of gold and toss them out of the temple. He also chased the Pharisees out of the temple and was good and angry. :-) I suppose the use of the word BS might warrant a request for forgiveness, but even then I’m not so sure.

          • librtifirst

I used the letters BS in commenting on your use of it. I did not use it in my own words to make a point. Santorum could have used the words bologna, or horse pucky and they would not have projected the same vulgarity. Paul the apostle said “are we not to judge our own”? He also implied that we cannot judge the world, because they do not know God. If a man in church cussed as though it was normal, I would be obligated to pull him aside and explain his error. If he did it habitually after being told his sin, then two or more would have to address it. If he refused to correct his sin, then the elders would have to consider asking him not to come to the church. This is the biblical mandate for how things work in the church. If I have a Christian brother at work doing the same, it is my right to tell him the same. If it is not a professed Christian, then I do not have the biblical right to do so.

I have done this outside of the church. The person recognized it, but never really corrected it. That was his choice, and he had to deal with it on his own. He died last year. His sin was between him and God.

I simply said that Santorum would benefit from an apology. He is running for office as a Christian conservative. If I believed that he was a genuine christian conservative before he made this comment, I might be set back because of it, and consider him to not be much different from any others in this respect. Christians are generally forgiving and accepting individuals who want to put such things behind them. There is a biblical process in doing so, which requires repentance. Since this was done in public, he might benefit from a public apology.

This is obviously a matter of perspective, and everyone has a different level of acceptance of such things.

        • keyesforpres

There isn’t aChristian live that hasn’t discredited Christ. Being Christian does not mean being perfect. It means we are forgiven. It means we try to be good ppl, but sometimes we fail.

I don’t know if Ron Paul claims to be Christian, but he did not display Christian principles when he called Santorum a fake in the debates.

          • librtifirst

I agree, we all diminish and discredit Christ. All sin does. The difference between a person with a heart for God, and one who does not have one, is that they repent and make it right.

I gave up on Santorum many years ago. I didn’t need this election to tell me what Paul said. Let your yes be yes, and your no be no. If you run an ad calling someone a fake conservative, then you better be ready to stick by it.

I am frankly disgusted with this whole primary, and now that it is clear who is going to be nominated via election fraud, I am just about done with it. Spring is here, and there are a lot better things to do than pay attention to a fraudulent election process.

“Spring is here, and there are a lot better things to do than pay attention to a fraudulent election process. ” Like buying some more ammo and doing a little target practice? I feel your pain librti. This election really stinks.

              • librtifirst

You know what gets my attention. I loaded five hundred rounds this weekend. I also need to start working on the garden, clean out the chicken house, work on the tractor, and fix up a sickle bar mower for my first wheat harvest this summer. I still don’t have my greenhouse up, and need to be planting tomato plants right now. I have only succeeded in running a generator on wood gas using pellets.

Just need some more sunlight to get me motivated. I suppose that you have plenty of that.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Yeah, plenty of sunlight, but we’re opposite to you guys in the north when it comes to planting. Our gardens are about done now- except for the last of the green beans, onions and the potatoes are almost ready. Getting too hot for anything else now, and too dry. Soon it will be too wet ;-) I’d like to rig up a greenhouse type thing- but with screen instead so my husband can grow longer crops and the sun won’t fry them all- then it can catch the dew and keep the soil a little cooler and moist.
We’re busy raising the baby chicks we got last week, and hoping they’ll be hens so I can add more eggs to the 3 or 4 we get a day now. Need to add on to the main coop before they move in. Ah… motivation. Gotta do it now before it gets too hot, but problem is, it’s already been in the high 80s the past couple of weeks ;-)

                • librtifirst

Wow. That seems so weird to me. I didn’t know any of that concerning your growing season. I’m thinking about hatching some chicks. I have fifteen hens and am down to about five eggs per day. The first year, after they had grown, I got almost an egg per day each. (Rhode Island Reds) Chickens are fun to watch. Their behavioral propensities and inhibitions are quite interesting.

I get anxious being in the house when the sun comes out. We have to wait for the ground to dry out enough to work it, and then get things seeded or planted before it gets too late, due to a short growing season. Last year we couldn’t work ground until June. Our spring and fall seasons are long enough to make use of greenhouses. It is raining pretty hard right now, and the temperature got up to a whopping 52 today.

The good thing about this time of year is the color of the landscape. It is bright green with pink and white flowered trees peppering the open areas. I saw a heard of elk just off the freeway the other day. They were out in an open field soaking in a temporarily sun drenched field. The steelhead are coming up the rivers to spawn in the creeks, and the birds are packing straw and sticks across the sky in a rush to establish their nesting sites. My resident woodpeckers are making regular appearances outside of my living room window pecking at a white oak for insects hiding in the bark. The hawks have been soaring above the trees behind my house scaring my chickens into hiding. The deer have taken to bedding down in the left over grass from last year behind my house, and have eaten the buds off of my relatively newly planted apple trees.

There is much more going on than just a political race for power and control over the people in this world.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

You painted a beautiful picture there librti! I miss the seasons of back home. I love it down here for a wild, pioneering tropical landscape, but I do miss hills, maple and birch trees and cherry and apple blossoms, trilliums and daffodils this time of year. Right now here, it’s our fall- all the leaves are falling off the big oaks in our yard, and the yard still has a lot of brown from the dry winter. We didn’t get much cold spell this winter- usually I have to cover the crops a few times, to keep frost damage to a minimum. I only had to cover twice, two nights in a row when it got down to 30. Now, we’re in the thick of dry season, with fire warnings. We’re OK here now as a few years ago we had a big fire come through, so not as much dry brush to worry about now. That was 2 years after hurricane’s Charlie and Wilma hit, and a bad killing frost the next winter left a lot of dry and dead trees and brush everywhere. My husband has always kept the yard around our house and out buildings free of yard debris so the house didn’t catch fire- thank God!
So, I guess we have 2 main seasons down here- fire season and hurricane season. I’ve lived through both now, so I qualify as a genuine Florida cracker ;-)
Soon, we will be hot and humid, and flooded yard. Kind of like back home when we had to wear our snow boots all winter, it was good to get back into sneakers in the spring. Down here I wear my rubber boots all summer and it feels good to get my garden shoes on in the fall lol. It’s been nice talking to you again librti.

Oh, and as for the chickens, I LOVE having them, and agree, they are unique and fun to watch. I find it very relaxing to just sit and watch them scratch around. :-) Night friend!

    • PChandler

Err… no. Cursing is not a sin or anything like that.

Your comment and similar are just plain http://j.mp/GVklJF

      • librtifirst

Ok then. Why does everyone have to spell cuss words with asterisks on this site, and this particular word as well? Is it censorship without a cause, or a moral issue with reputation consequences? Go ahead and use that word in its full lingual characterization and see where it gets you.

Will you get an exception for being really annoyed when you use it?

        • CQ50

No news show covering this story would even say the word on television.

        • K-Bob

          1) Because it’s in the comment policy.
          B) Because permission to curse liberally waters down discourse. That doesn’t mean a well-placed bit of vituperation isn’t welcome. Think of it as a challenge to work a little harder than grade-school discourse.
iii) A passing mention of excrement is entirely different from a comment where excrement is the focal point.

          • librtifirst

So, you are saying that people who cuss a lot tend to be more ignorant and bring the level of discourse down a few notches? I tend to agree. In my observations of other people’s use of them on a continual basis, I have found that cuss words tend to replace many other words, and therefor diminish the points being made. Though I would add that the vulgarity of the words themselves, and the people using them, tends to be a real turn off for me. I don’t personally want to get used to hearing a lot of cussing, as it may eventually have a negative effect on me.

When I moved from California back to Oregon, I found myself in the midst of a group of people with limited vocabularies. It was interesting to realize that my own vocabulary eventually diminished as time went by. There were times when some people actually didn’t understand the words, so I quit using them. My vocabulary was not that extensive to begin with.

            • K-Bob

That’s off the mark by just a bit. It’s possible to find great beauty and even wisdom among the most wretched of conditions, and among the most coarse of men. What I mean by “watering down discourse” is that reliance on slang, expletives, and trite expressions causes people to put less effort in communicating. And, as you wrote, it does “diminish the points being made.” And I’m as guilty of lazy writing as anyone.

But trying to follow that wiser course doesn’t mean I don’t fill the air with the ringing tones of blue and black imprecations when, for example a plumbing joint I just sweated in a very tight area turns out to have poorly taken.

Also, I hang out with musicians, so I have to be able to speak the language.

You are correct, though. The people you hang with can influence the way you operate the brain thingy. In fact, one of the best ways to be successful is to hang out with people striving for success (you know, during that one hour per month when highly-motivated people actually “hang out.”)

        • toongoon

If you listen closely, you find that Santorum used asterisks when he said it. So it’s all good.

    • GiantM

      Well said brother!

    • wodiej

I agree w you on the profanity Santorum used. It also shows his lack of self control. Gingrich gets ticked at the media all the time but he remains composed and still slaps them down. After this 3rd incident in a row of Santorum saying questionable things, he spends more time trying to explain away and defend the remarks when he should be talking about Obama and his failed policies.

I really tamped down on my cursing when I became friends w my 4 year old neighbor 10 years ago. It’s a nasty habit and makes even the most intelligent person look ignorant. My sister told my Mom when she was about 12 she couldn’t wait until she was 18 so she could cuss. My Mom said well you can cuss now if you want to be ignorant.

I disagree w your collapse of society because I am hoping for God’s intervention.

      • librtifirst

We can hope and pray for it, to be sure. I am careful, though, not to be presumptuous, or prideful in our national standing being cause for God to spare us of all pain before the rapture. With the global financial systems collapsing, I do not see how the US is going to escape the same fate. We may be the last, due to our world reserve currency, but it is coming.

I would love to see a great revival take place, but am reminded that many people repent only when they have nothing left to lose.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I can see where you’re coming from librti- but while Christians need to live to a higher standard and walk in Christ, we all are works in progress and we all fall every day. If Rick had sworn the Lord’s name, I would have been sorely disappointed and expected an immediate apology. Calling something bs, well, it’s not that big of a deal. I’m not saying it was the best choice of words, but it’s not going to make me turn on him because of it. I’m not the best Christian in the world, so I can understand his frustration at the time, and I can easily imagine walking in his shoes on this one.

      • Nukeman60

Well said ABC. You may think you’re not the best Christian in the world, but you are head and shoulders above people like me. It would raise many of us up several notches if we walked in your shoes. Thanks for your input.

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Aw quit it- there you go again! We’re all works in progress Nuke, and have different areas where we are more…obedient (? is the only word I can think of). Cussing and anger are my weaknesses, and I pray for help with those every day. Some days I hear the Spirit before I let the words out of my mouth or the raising of my voice, other days I don’t hear so well and feel like crud after. We’re all walking with the Lord and some are on different parts of the journey than others- it’s not necessarily that we’re farther ahead or farther behind than others- it’s that we’re beside the Lord as we are on the journey. :-) I’ll never forget the sweetest thing you said to me a few months ago, and I can’t wait to find out if I get to request the seat where you will be, or if you are there waiting for me to arrive. Who knows. Hopefully Jesus will come soon and we’ll all get to arrive at the same time! ((()))s my dear friend Nuke!

          • Nukeman60

I hear you. There are many who do much better than I. Santorum is older than he looks, and has been tooting this horn for a long time. I have watched what he has done throughout his career, and due to his continual disappointing behavior in office I have come to the point that he will get a lot less breathing room from me. When someone has a pattern of turning from what they say, I eventually quit being taken for a sucker.

I can understand that too librti. I admit, I don’t know all of Rick’s past like some do, and he wasn’t my first choice. Where we are in the race now though, he’s the one I most closely identify with. I learned a long time ago though, no matter if a person is a strong Christian, they will eventually let us down at some time or another- so even though I appreciate his strong faith in family, he’s not perfect and I won’t be putting too much faith in him or any other. I share your hope that Jesus comes soon.

driving away voters on the right–its the only thing the Mittbots know.

  • http://www.facebook.com/david.l.white2 David Lewis White

Last post. You folks can continue to whine and moan about Mitt. But he will be the candidate, and he is a heck of a lot better than Obama. So I sure hope you get behind our candidate in the Fall, or we will have three more liberal justices in the Supreme Court. We will have Obamacare. Mitt said he would repeal it. So let’s put him to the test. I guess you could sit out the election, but that is a very selfish, immature attitude IMO.

    • E. Lee Zimmerman

You had me at “last post”.

    • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

More liberal justices…you mean like the ones Gov. Romney appointed when he was gov. of Mass?

    • John_Frank

If memory serves me correctly, Governor Romney has yet to win the nomination. So, let the competition continue.

    • K-Bob

It’s good to see strong support for Mitt’s “anti-whining” campaign. I think he ran on that last time, too, to great success. Almost.

  • John_Frank

RS, thanks for posting this video. Excellent interview by Sarah Palin.

P.S. It is amusing and sad to read the comments by Romney’s supporters. Someone needs to pass out Dale Carnegie’s book, “How To Win Friends And Influence People” to his supporters.

    • CQ50

Well, we give as good as we get. You haven’t been especially courteous to us.

      • John_Frank

        Romney’s people started it.

        • CQ50

          How childish!

          • Karl Rogue

You folks drive away potential voters. think about it.

      • keyesforpres

We have called Romney out on his policies. I have never seen a Mitt supporter talk about what is good about Romney’s policies. You act just like Mitt with the personal attacks. To tell you the truth, you guys come across as Obama supporters.

Soros did say there wasn’t much difference between O and Mitt and that he would be happy with Mitt. That should really scare you.

  • ernst1776

Romney would be better then Obama…. as would my kitchen table. Romney is not running on his record or his plans for the future. All he seems to do, when he isn’t stuttering or fishing for a clever response, is attack fellow Republicans.

    • Indiana13

more proof that many if not most of you talk about Mitt without knowledge.. clearly you have not listened to any of his speeches or debate performances since all he does is talk about his plans for America… He is very articulate…

      • keyesforpres

Look thru the archives here and watch Romney’s own words.

        • Indiana13

surely you jest… we have seen all those cobbled up videos and half truth and twisted statements out there… 12 yrs of watching and following Gov Romney and looking at actual records are quite positively revealing.. I go for Mitt and anyone interested in restoring America to greatness should… the capable and able man for the job…

          • keyesforpres

LOL, cobbled together? Where Romney acutally said in 2009 that they should use Romneycare as their model? Um, ok.

  • TEXs

    Rombots,

You are all libs, that’s why you like liberal fraud Willard.

This is what his wife Ann Romney said in 1994:

“We didn’t know a single Republican when we jumped in in December,’ his wife, Ann, says,” Brownstein reported.

    Think about it!

Just 18 years ago Willard was 47 years old and he didn’t know a single Republican.

Today, the lying con man says he’s “conservative”.

    • CQ50

His whole family was Republican. I think she meant in MA where they were living at the time. That was taken out of context, doncha think! LOL!

      • GiantM

True, but actions always speak louder than words.

      • keyesforpres

They are Republican in name only.

    • Indiana13

funny I can’t find any documentation (real) for that comment… hum???

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1497076194 Travis Pierson

I’m glad he went after the reporter and told him to quit lying, but I disagree that using vulgarity to make his point shows strength of character. Vulgarity shows intellectual laziness. A man with true character and intellectual strength can make as strong a point, leaving no doubt in the mind of the subject, without resorting to crude language.

    • John_Frank

Nope. Sometimes the word “bullsh*t” is absolutely appropriate; and in this case it was.

      • CQ50

Not from a presidential candidate on a ropeline to greet supporters with cameras everywhere. It certainly didn’t look very presidential. Even his daughter knew her dad was blowing it.

        • John_Frank

Oh please. Now we are prudes. LOL.

          • CQ50

I am no prude but I was taught to behave appropriately in certain surroundings. I am tired of the fool in the WH we have. I want someone who can act presidential to bring some class back to the White House. When did you ever hear any President or presidential candidate use this word?

            • John_Frank

Bush and Cheney when talking about an NYT reporter.

              • CQ50

And they didn’t know they could be picked up on a mike. Santorum said it with all his supporters and the press right there.

                • John_Frank

                  …. or maybe they did.

                • stevenbiot

If cussing makes these guys quiver, they must live in a land called Utopia.

            • Nukeman60

I don’t like the guy in the White House either, but I don’t want someone who can ‘act’ presidential. I want someone who can ‘be’ presidential. Romney ain’t it.

I like the guy Obama is afraid of, the one he cowers from and has to respond to every time the guy speaks.

Yeah, you heard me, I like Newt.

              • wodiej

And Newt does this without using profanity as well.

                • Nukeman60

It isn’t what we want to hear, as it does decrease the esteem of the White House, but I don’t think there is a President out there that hasn’t been caught cussing every now and again, whether it be Kennedy, Bush, Clinton, or Obama.

      • stevenbiot

Mr.Frank, right on. Call these partisan hacks out.

    • GiantM

Travis I agree with you. Colorful language should be the last resort….if at all. As for what Palin said, it only resonates [I'm sure] with how she has dealt with her liberal friends in Alaska and the press. So I believe Santorum just struck a familiar nerve with her, because certainly she has been through quite a lot over the past 5-6 years.

I think CQ just speaks for most people with a different perspective. But I will believe that holding a strong and high level of integrity is the best path.

I’ve always told my kids; “If you’re going in one direction and everybody else isn’t, then you’re on the “right” path. The straight & narrow.

The media can be very irratating, but do it with class when you tell them off, shape the narrative the other way.

I sure didn’t expect Sarah Palin to endorse foul language. Foul language doesn’t make you a bigger person, and in Santorum’s case, a more macho man.

    • keyesforpres

It’s all the Mitt fans have against Rick.

      • MiketheMarine

Hey, Keyes. How are you feeling about that little punk, Trayvon, now?

        • keyesforpres

He may have been a punk, but Zimmerman should not have pursued him. I have no problem with Zimmerman calling the police, but he should have stayed way back and just kept an eye on him until police arrived.

Did Zimmerman follow him in a car and jump out and act menacing? Did he have his gun in his hand? I don’t know. I do know the 911 dispatcher told him not to follow him. The victim’s friend said that Treyvon was on the phone with him/her and said he was scared because a guy was following him.

Treyvon really beat the snot out of Zimmerman. It makes me wonder how he was able to get to his gun, unless it was already in his hand. I would understand completely why Treyvon would have attacked him in that case.

          • MiketheMarine

The current narrative, which is supported by witnesses is that Mr. Zimmerman was following from a distance in his vehicle. He lost sight of the hoodlum. Zimmerman got out of his SUV to try to locate him, see if he was entering a home he didn’t live in. Zimmerman couldn’t find him and was walking back to his vehicle when Treyvon attacked him from behind. Trayvon punched Zimmerman in the nose, breaking it and putting Zimmerman on the ground where Trayvon jumped on him and began to slam his head on the concrete.

The only think that I would have done differently is I would have shot that punk much sooner that Trayvon did. I think you are ignoring facts to fit your mental image of a wrong. You are wrong. That kid was a criminal. You know what his twitter call sign was? Look it up…

            • keyesforpres

Well then, if a witness saw Treyvon jump Zimmerman from behind, then Zimmerman was completely justified in the shooting.

              • MiketheMarine

Which is why the police did not and will not arrest him. That is exactly what I was saying Friday. An innocent kid carrying skittles pursued and killed by a vigilante did not ring true then and now it seems to be proven as BS.

                • keyesforpres

I will say this though, what would you do if a guy was following you in a car? If you jumped behind a tree and the guy got out with a gun in his hand and was coming in your direction, what would you do? Not saying Zimmerman had a gun in his hand, but I can kind of understand why Treyvon might have jumped him, even from behind. He didn’t know Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch guy.

                • MiketheMarine

Right at the very top of the home screen of TRS is a link to an article by the Daily Mail talking about Trayvon’s history of suspensions from school for drugs and for being caught at school with a burglar tool and a bag of stolen women’s jewelry.

There is no defense for that punk criminal and the fact that he attacked the neighborhood watch who happened to be armed seems to me to be a case of evolution. The stupid and violent tend to not last long enough to breed.

                • keyesforpres

Mike, what would you have done if someone was following you like Zimmerman was?

                • MiketheMarine

I was a private investigator for three years and I have been removed from my vehicle by cops at gunpoint and have been confronted by neighborhood watches. My response to all of those situations was to approach the person face to face and ask if there was something I could help them with. I never hid and then attacked. Never. I find asking a question and looking strangers in the eye usually tells them all they need to know and they move on. That guy was the neighborhood watch for HIS neighborhood. Trayvon was a burglar casing the neighborhood. He was a thug and the world is a bit safer today because he is gone.

                • keyesforpres

Did Zimmerman make an announcement that he was the neighborhood watch guy? Even then, how would you know the person was telling the truth. Treyvon had no idea who Zimmerman was and Zimmerman had no idea who Treyvon was.

                • MiketheMarine

That doesn’t even matter. He has a right to wonder anywhere he wants in his own neighborhood with the expectation of not being attacked by a burglar. He doesn’t need to announce anything. That little criminal was casing houses and then attacked a man from behind. He deserves exactly what he got. A nine mil round in the chest.

                • keyesforpres

Oh sure, once he was attacked he was justified, but I don’t blame Treyvon for attacking a guy with a gun who was following him.

It’s just ashame Zimmerman didn’t listen to the 911 dispatcher and wait for the police.

I’m done with this. You won’t change my mind. Zimmerman should have kept his distance until the police arrived.

                • MiketheMarine

Don’t come walking around any neighborhoods in Carroll County, Maryland. You may be shocked to discover that after not being recognized you are being followed by local farmers carrying shotguns, asking who you are and why you’re there.

                • keyesforpres

Wow, how pathetic that you’d come up to a woman walking down a sidewalk because you did not recognize her. Very few neighbors know everyone in a neighborhood.

                • MiketheMarine

What you seem to not understand is someone who has nothing to hide would not have a problem being asked who they were and what they were doing, especially in a neighborhood or town not their own.

FYI, Trayvon lived in Miami but was in orlando because he was currently suspended from school this time for having marijuana.

                • keyesforpres

If someone came up to me in street clothes with a gun and asked me what I was doing there, I would assume he was a bad guy meaning me harm. How about you?

It is my understanding that Treyvon was visiting someone in the neighborhood.

                • MiketheMarine

You are as dense as granite. Mr. Zimmerman’s gun was in a holster on his belt. You are against the 2nd amendment right? That little criminal was walking THROUGH a gated community on the way to his aunt’s house. He was casing the neighborhood. Last response to you because I am thinking you are an african american determined to defend a convict.

                • keyesforpres

Nope. I’m white. I’m all for the 2nd amendment.

You’ve never answered the question on what you would do if some strange man was following you with a gun.

How do you know he was casing the neighborhood if he was going to his aunt’s house and why didn’t Zimmerman use his brain and listen to the 911 dispatcher and wait for the police.

Sorry, but some guy in street clothes comes at me with a gun showing when all I’m doing is walking down the sidewalk, I’d be scared too.

I’m done here as well. I know darned well if a strange guy was following you with a gun you’d probably do the same thing Treyvon did.

Notice that Romeny is using the same mob “flood” tactics on the comment sections, forums and blogs that Obama did in 2008?

The goal is not sharing ideas, just to shut down open discussion and criticism with a deluge of daily campaign talking points.

It almost seems like Romeny has formed a branch of Media Matters.

Romney is a liberal who passed obamacare in his state before anyone knew who Maobama was plus Romney raised taxes in his state of taxachusettes before bankrupting it. These are all facts. Look them up…..

      • keyesforpres

Yeah, it makes me even more worried about Mitt being our nominee. It really shows that Soros was right when he said there isn’t much difference between Mitt and O. You can see there isn’t much difference in their supporters either.

  • JoeMontana16

I have no problem with what Santorum said as far as the curse word goes. I’d love that it be done more in selected circumstances. Newt does really well at that. Good for Santorum as far as that goes. Problem is he lied his butt off. He wasn’t just saying that Romney was the worst Republican on the subject obamacare. Rick said Tom.eyes was the worst Republican in the country to go against Obama in the election. Now, I don’t have a problem with either of those statements. I don’t think he is the worst Republican to go against Obama because there are way worse regretfully. He lied in what he said to the reporter. It is very clear. Come on, its on freaking video! A lie is a lie. But he is a politician and is expected.

I don’t think it was un-presidential. I like seeing backbone and most people will understand that. I do. The problem is when they see these tapes they will put two and two together and see that he was lying about his statement. Like I said he is a politician and that’s expected from ‘em.

    • JoeMontana16

I forgot to say that Sarah Palin is the bomb. The beez neez as my nephew would say. I would like to say that I now have him into politics and that he likes this blog. Like me, he likes that the videos are posted with the story. He is a Santorum supporter so he isn’t quite up to speed yet. He is young though so he will grow out of it. Hahaha. I was just joking.

    • http://twitter.com/cfallon57 Cheryl Fallon

      Swearing demonstrates strength?

      • nibblesyble

I wasn’t too happy about the curse either, I am spoiled by Newt who always handles the press masterfully. But he did show strength in taking it to the press.

I do not agree. Swearing is a liberal tactic. I would hope that a future president would set a good example and not swear.

    • MiketheMarine

I would prefer a president who doesn’t blatantly lie constantly than one who doesn’t swear.

      • Indiana13

well then RS is not your man… he does nothing but lie every time he gets a mic

        • MiketheMarine

Apparently, you are a biased neurosurgeon. Romney is full of crap. Of all the potentials out there, Maobama is not capable of telling the truth and Romney wouldn’t know the truth if it punched him in the nose.

You are one of those people who thinks that only Mittwitt can win and want all other republicans to give up their right to vote for who they want and to do what you say, right? NFL….

          • Indiana13
            • MiketheMarine

You are speaking to a Marine. I couldn’t give a crap who is winning. The only fact that matters is who will win. The primaries are now out of New England where most conservatives are defective and in the other 75% of the country where people believe that every person is responsible for their own success.

            • stevenbiot

Just shows you how far conservatives have let their principles slip. Baby Obama is #1 for the republican ticket, allah help us!

        • stevenbiot

Romney: I believe in Cap n’ Trade, but I don’t; I believe in man-made global warming, but I don’t; I believe in Reagan conservatism, but I don’t; My healthcare plan in Massachusetts is saving money, but it isn’t; and my favorite of all: I will repeal Obamacare, but I won’t. Haha! This dude flip flops more than John Kerry.

        That’s not the point!

        • stevenbiot

What is the point? After Santorum cussed, the morality police came from the jurisdiction of Utopia to give us a good scolding. I just want to remind everyone that we aren’t angels just yet. Lets be patient!

      • http://twitter.com/Rushlimbang Brian Skinner

        Actually yes I do.

        • Nukeman60

Do you know any President that didn’t swear in office? Be honest now, ’cause they all have, at one time or another.

    • MiketheMarine

Have you ever heard the phrase,”You only retain the rights you are willing to fight for?” If you are willing to fight for something you might be serious enough about it to use some colorful language. If you shut down when you hear a bad word I suspect you miss most of the life happening all around you.

I am happy to know that the narrow minded hate evident in many if not most of these comments is limited to the internet and these boards… Thank Heavens 4,127,915 non hate filled people out there were smart enough to vote for Mitt while 2,850,541 voted for Santorum; 2,212,001 for Gingrich; and 1,079,751 for Paul. Current delegate count… Mitt 568, Santorum 256, Gingrich 141; Paul 66. Yes, I am glad the over abundance of ignorance and hate is limited to the cyber world cause there are smarter and less hate filled people out there in the real world.

    • MiketheMarine

Is that so? And you call yourself a conservative? Please, go back to media matters.

      • stevenbiot

Mike, I think Indiana13 is really having a hard time grappling with such “hate.” I hope he makes it through the day, and still has his faith in humanity intact.

        • MiketheMarine

Not every conservative thinks exactly the same about the candidates honestly this isn’t Iran is it? These guys hopefully will be better than Obama hopefully we will find out otherwise we may not get to chat like this in the future if Obama has his way the next four years!!! We’ll see how much fight the American people have if O gets another 4 years!

        • MiketheMarine

True, but I have seen a few people today claiming Santorum is aliar, or Newt is worthless and they are defending Romne. Funny thing is I haven’t seen one single detail or fact to back up those opinions.

Not all ocnservatives think the same and this is not Iran or the USSR, yet but We, here at TRS prefer numbers and facts to opinions.

You know what they say about an unsupported opinion, right? They are like anal pores. We all have them and they all stink. You need to back up some of your opinions with background and details or we won’t take you seriously.

        • nibblesyble

Cheryl, I have a serious question I have to ask you as a Romney supporter. Why do so many Romney supporters despise Sarah? I know you don’t but you don’t love her either like the rest of us. Why do you think that is?

The term ” hate filled” is being taken as seriously as the term “racist” nowadays, Mike. If Indiana thinks this type of discourse is hateful, I want to live in the safe, secure suburbs he hails from.

        • MiketheMarine

Right on. I haven’t even gotten to my annoyed point yet. I’m still smiling.

  • Armyspouse1988

Well, of course she does–it’s used to always work so well for her. That is, until people actually got to know her better and judged for themselves. You see how far it got Newt Gingrich. If you want to be POTUS–stop whining. Life isn’t FAIR.

    • MiketheMarine

Please, lady. Every word the MSM has said negatively about Palin has been proved wrong and Palin proved right including the Paul Revere comment. She is usually right but, for some reason half this country just loses their minds when they hear her name.

      • http://twitter.com/cfallon57 Cheryl Fallon

That is so not true-unfortunately her beauty has probably rendered you useless in being able to see she doesn’t know everything like some of her followers think and she did MISPEAK about Paul Revere-although I believe she just didn’t get the words out the way she meant them…what she said about that Paul Revere was just ridiculous-honestly I would have done the same thing-off the cuff she isn’t very good at those things-reading a prepared statement she can do!

      • Armyspouse1988

100% EVERY word, Mike? C’mon. When Katie Couric asked Sarah Palin what she read–Palin couldn’t answer it ( I guess she doesn’t read, or whatever), and went ballistic about some “gotcha” media conspiracy against her. How was that NOT a fair question? I have a friend who is a librarian, and she routinely asks this to people she wants to get to know better. The items you are willing to spend your valuable time (especially Sarah Palin) speaks VOLUMES about who she is. It was a FAIR, INSIGHTFUL QUESTION. Sarah Palin looked foolish, and this was her cover. A lot of her failings is her own fault. I still have yet to understand why she resigned as Governor of Alaska. To do reality TV or write books and play rockstar? Whatever….?

        • MiketheMarine

Nowhere in that paragraph is fact, detail or question. What was the question Sarah Palin was asked and what is the question your librarian friend asks and what question are you asking me?

          • Armyspouse1988

Couric asked Palin to list some things she reads. Here’s the Youtube Link on the actual exchange between the two.

Palin considered this a “gotcha” question–the same attitude expressed by Rick Santorum yesterday. Complete BS–it was a fair question. I’m sure Maobama could have answered that question had it been asked of him. As politicians, they should be routinely reading briefing books on issues (state or national) prepared by their staffs. That was one of the things Sarah Palin REFUSED to do throughout the campaign. Too busy playing rockstar and ginning up false conspiracies, I guess.

        • Nukeman60

When she was asked that question, about what she read, she answered the way she did because she wasn’t trying to promote any particular magazine/newspaper. Does it matter which particular media outlet she reads? And did you watch the entire interview, or just the edited version of Courics, that made her look bad and left out the logical answers?

    • http://www.facebook.com/julicornwall Juliann F. Cornwall

I judged for myself and actualy took the time to get to know her better but it looks like you haven’t. She herself said that a recomendations aren’t worth a hill of beans each person will decide for themselves who the GOP nominee will be. Then she will get behind who ever that is any of the 4 of them are better than what we have now. They asked, she answered. There is a lot more in play here than we will ever know. Who is whining here, Stop and look in a mirror and ask if you are you being FAIR. May I suggest you watch The Undefeated. It is available on Netflix. Then come and tell me about life not being fair.

      • Armyspouse1988

Actually, I used to be a HUGE fan of Sarah Palin. Yes, I took the time and got to know her WELL–and that’s why I no longer support her. Remember, actions always speak LOUDER than words. She has beat the “media conspiracy plot against her” to death. It doesn’t explain why the majority of people no longer take her seriously–and she has done FAR MORE damage than good to the conservative cause.

        • Nukeman60

Let me get this straight. You were a HUGE fan of Palin’s when she was being massively aligned and falsely accused by the media? Then you took the time to find out how much she has really accomplished in her life? And NOW you don’t like her? Is that right? Really? You’re gonna go with that?

          • Armyspouse1988

I came to a totally different conclusion. I don’t think Sarah Palin has accomplished a great deal or is smart enough to be POTUS, just as I know Barack Obama isn’t smart enough. The only difference is, Sarah Palin was properly vetted–Obama WAS NOT. Does that mean that either are qualified to be the most powerful person in the world? NO. He got a break, she did not. I also think that she frightened votes AWAY from John McCain–as I know you’ll disagree, but several people told me that they could not vote for him because of her. I voted for McCain, because even with Palin, it was better than Obama/Biden–and I certainly don’t regret it.

  • pmb88

What Ricks comment expressed was also our feelings of the media. Anytime we watch any of the LSM channels we know what they say is bs.

The race is not over yet. There is a phrase that comes to mind : “don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.” Does Romney have greater chances of winning the nomination? Sure. Has he gotten the magic number of 1144? No. The race is not over until the nominee is officially declared.

  • Colonel_Bat_Guano

I only wish he had backhanded him a couple of times as well.

    • stevenbiot

Oh, dear! You’ve just caused so many high road moralist’s heads to explode. A quick throat chop would have sufficed nicely.

  • Trust1TG

Look at the number of comments!

Sarah Palin’s ‘likes’ on facebook: 3,310,356
Talking about her latest post: 79,687
Her tweets sometimes have as many as 12,000 followers
Her CPAC speech was standing room only.
As a VP candidate she drew 20-60,000 people to events.

It is refreshing to find a real courageous, consistent, clear, Christian conservative.

People are obviously hungry for truth.

    Probably more like DESPERATE.

    • virginiagentleman1

Makes you wonder why she’s not running, doesn’t it!
I like Newt and Rick and even Ron Paul. Romney, well, not at all. I dispise Obama. These five men are seeking the highest office in the land. While Romney is ahead in delegate count, he is the least desirable of the four repubs.
I wonder how the numbers would change if Palin threw her hat in?
Just my opinion but I think she’d win in a landslide over the guys.

      • creeper00

She’s not running because the nonstop onslaught by the media drove her negatives up too high.

You do understand, don’t you, that our candidates are all selected by the media?

        • virginiagentleman1

Hello creeper00! Thanks for taking the time to reply!

I want to address both of your points.

First off, I view the media onslaught against Palin somewhat differently then you do. While the attacks on her are still non-stop, she is rising in the peoples conscienceness. Most want to know why there is so much vitriol and hate leveled at her by the left and the establishment-elites. As they research her positions she gains more followers, which is exactly the opposite of what her adversaries intended. She is gaining strength with each new attack, not losing strength. It is quite obvious that the left and the establishment are at their lowest levels ever. Their plans to take her down keeps blowing up in their faces.

Secondly, yes I do understand that our candidates are being selected by a failing and biased media. I also understand that the media can no longer be trusted to present facts over political fiction. There is no longer a truely free press in America, therefore their reporting is unimportant and unnessessary to my decisions.
I prefer to get my facts and opinions straight from the persons mouth and not filtered thru the media. Palin, unlike Obama, Romney, Santorum and to a lesser degree Gingrich and Paul, almost never steps on her own tongue, creating gaffes that have to be walked back! The same cannot be said of the others. They spend more time correcting their gaffes then they did with their original statements! There are hundreds of examples to choose from!

The convention in Tampa will nominate someone who has a majority of voters and delegates behind them, a candidate of the people, and not a party hack or elitest.
Stay tuned my friend. It’s about to become interesting!

  • sjmom

How the Left despises being called out on their bias, so I say GO RICK! It’s about time someone spoke up, so thank you Senator.

You know what’s ridiculous? This story has 600+ comments. With all the serious issues we have going on today, THIS post about the use of the word Bull$#it by one of our candidates is what’s being talked about. Fighting with each other about a word I’ve heard my Baptist preacher grandfather use a time or two.

    Yeah for conservatism!

I’m giving myself a time out before I flip out and start using the word Bull**** without asterisks!

  • virginiagentleman1

It never fails! Run a story on Sarah Palin and watch the boards light up! Love her or hate her, people respond to her. No one else, not even Obama, gets the airplay that Palin does. Even Ronald Reagan didn’t get the responses that Palin does. For someone without a title, for someone who is a private citizen, folks certainly react to her.
The left hates her with a passion. Constitutionalists love her with a passion.
She must be doing something right!
Now if she’ll just get into the game!

Liberal fraud from Massachusetts spent $50 millions of his own loot in 2008.

This year in Florida alone he spent with his CPAC(made of 16 billioners +)
    $20 million dollars.

Newt had 200 TV and radio ads.
    Romney had 13,000.

Strong character but let’s not mince words; profanity in any instance is not right. What I find ironic is most times it’s a liberal cursing conservative females (aka Sarah Palin) for just being female or conservative black men (aka Herman Cain) for just being black.

Ironically, in this case it’s a conservative cursing a liberal for doing what is normal to them – twist the truth, slander, arouse contention AKA just being a liberal!! LOL

Come on folks, cursing, no matter who it comes from is a loss of control. Is that presidential? I like Bush, but I did not like it when those words escaped his mouth. Besides, if you are interviewing a candidate for a job, most people are automatically eliminated if they curse during the interview. No matter who it was about, this was not a very presidential act.

I also find it irritatingly amusing that Rick Santorum points outs Mitts time as governor as a flip flopper and a liberal. Well if he is going to run on issues then he needs to come clean with his own bit of dirty laundry.

Rick Santorum is known as the great pork senator
While running for Senate he said, insisting nonetheless that he is not a Reagan Republican.
He also said while running for Senate he ascribed himself as a “progressive conservative” in his campaign manual!
Santorum said he supported programs like Head Start and the health and education service that he now says is “not particularly impressive.”
He was also hanging out with the K-street gang back in the day! That should score one for not having ethics.
Voted five times to raise the debt ceiling

Santorum also said that intelligent design is a legitimate scientific theory that should be taught in science classes. Then he changed his mind and said he was not comfortable with intelligent design being taught in the science classroom.

Santorum was named the Most Corrupt Politician by a political watchdog group in 2006.

    • NJK

Did you know that if the Senators didn’t take the earmark spending, that one of the unconstitutional agencies would decide where it should go? I didn’t agree with earmarks until I heard that.

John McCain is a closet socialist, yet he never takes earmarks. But look at everything else he’s done. McCain/Feingold, NDAA, etc.

Newt if my guy. He’s a warrior and they are intimidated by him. The media stutters and stammers when they interview him, because he’s too smart and quick for them. I wouldn’t fault Rick Santorum too much for the earmark thing though.

Romney would be a disaster. He’s a socialist. You aren’t a “Conservative/Constitutionalist,” if you vote for Romney. I think too many people call themselves Conservative thinking that it means Republican. He never mentions the Constitution, I don’t think he’s ever read it. Is he interested in learning it? Has he ever read the Declaration of Independence? Newt knows our founding, inside and out. Romney appears to think singing a few bars of God Bless America qualifies him. I would vote for him as a last resort, but if you want someone who’s smart and would kick their butts, Newt is who you want. They fear him.

Romney/Romneycare He said he created this with “My good friend Ted Kennedy?”

Romney gave cars with AAA memberships to welfare recipients. He even allowed them to keep them if they went off of welfare.

Romney Gave Free Cars To Welfare Recipients As Governor
      http://whynotromney.blogspot.com/2012/02/romney-gave-free-cars-to-welfare.html

Romney worked with John Holdren who works for the African usurper’s unconstitutional agency, the EPA. He believes it would be ok to put something in the water to sterilize people. I think he should be renamed, Dr. Mengele.

I find it ironic that this is news worthy, but being an accessory to the murder of Brian Terry, Jaime Zapata, and over 300 others isn’t in Fast and Furious. Yes, Obama and Holder, and their ilk, did this while trying to frame American citizens.
In addition, the man in the White House is more than likely an African born, Indonesian citizen, but, b___l s__t, what does that matter. Who cares if he’s running our wars, where we lost twenty Navy Seals, a CIA Drone landed in Iran, and 60% of all the deaths in Afghanistan have occurred.

Who cares if this African Usurper is more than likely working for the Weather Underground and Muslim Brotherhood, both groups that are prominent in Chicago.

Here’s some new info. Some INS documents that they missed. This was found in a library record in Boston the other day. Only one baby born in East Africa to a U.S. mother during the time Obama was born. Hmmm. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence. After all he said so, right?

INS DOC FOUND: U.S. CERTIFICATE ISSUED TO ONE
EAST AFRICAN-BORN CHILD OF U.S. CITIZEN IN 1961!

Extending the Liberal Justices argument on Obama Care to guns: Criminology proves that the crime suppression effect of the armed portion of the public is just about on the order of the crime suppression effect of our police agencies, so people who refuse to buy guns are part of the crime control problem. We must mandate that they buy guns and tax them if they don’t.
