Schadenfreude: Get Out The Gloat (GOTG)

Last night the Republican tsunami swept across America, leaving progressives everywhere, and especially in the media, struggling to understand just what the $%^& is the matter with Kansas? And Iowa? And North Carolina? And Georgia? And Texas? And Maryland??? Their worlds don’t make sense this morning. But I am here to help them understand. To offer my loving hand to them and say, with all my heart, NA NA NUH BOO BOO!! Gloating is my business and Business. Is. GOOD.

First up is this video from Legal Insurrection, which is both clever and delightfully mean. And judging by the posting time at the site, it was up right in the midst of peak Democrat suffering. Marvelous.

There were some amazing tweets during the night, but I think this one provides just about the best summary possible.

Next we have Rand Paul, who trolled the Hillary Huffers so expertly it’s almost too much to bear. The Clinton Midas touch was brought to bear in several races in between her book tour stops. Several races that didn’t turn out so well. As Rand gloriously pointed out, as lovingly recorded by Twitchy. Here’s a highlight:

There is substantive schadenfreude to have in abundance. Take this from Leon Wolf at RedState:

As the reality of a Republican wave became imminent last night, a dangerous narrative began to take hold among the conservative talking heads on cable news and in the victory speeches of the victorious Republicans. The narrative was that now that the Republicans have control of both chambers of Congress, it is incumbent upon them to work with Obama and the other Democrats in the service of “getting things done” and “fixing the broken system.”

My hope is that Republicans reject this patent nonsense for the poppycock that it is. Not only should Republicans not work closely with Democrats, they should instead keep them as far away as possible, preferably across a large moat filled with sharp stakes, acid, and alligators. That way, our side will be safer from friendly fire when we launch the flaming tar at the remaining Democrats in office.

That is the substance, and it is right and proper. But here is the schadenfreude:

That is the cover image for the story, the one circulating on Facebook and Twitter. It’s the battle of Helm’s Deep from Lord of the Rings, and it is driving depressed Dems up the wall. Which, as we have established, is hilarious.

And of course, being a photoshop junkie, I have a contribution of my own. Here is an artist’s rendering of the primarl scream of the democrat Id, from my Facebook post.

So join in and get your gloat on people. Hammer the lesson home.
