Sean Hannity really showed what he’s made of in this ridiculous debate with Ben Sasse, the Republican Senator from Nebraska.
Sasse began criticizing Trump for his attacks on the media and insinuations that he’d be OK with using the power of the federal government to shut down the press.
Mr. President:

Are you recanting of the Oath you took on Jan. 20 to preserve, protect, and defend the 1st Amendment? pic.twitter.com/XLB7QXM3bQ
Even some Trump fans have noted that Trump is treading into dangerous waters here. But Sean Hannity had to defend his BFF from the constitutional attacks from Sasse.
https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/918304491027525632Sasse responds:
Sorry, Sean -- you changed, not me. Some of us still believe in the Constitution. No President should play with censoring news they dislike. https://t.co/ZBEMNSF7nz

And.
Question for conservatives:
— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) October 12, 2017
What will you wish you had said now if someday a President Elizabeth Warren talks about censoring Fox News?
Notice, no childish insults. Here’s how Hannity responded:
https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/918679607708184576OK- then WHY are you arguing with Sasse? WHY aren’t you simply agreeing with him? This is such an irrational response.
https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/918681473603067905 https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/918691610103132160A great “whataboutism” response – don’t criticize Trump’s unconstitutional stance unless you meet some completely unrelated standard.
Then he tries to quote a Supreme Court decision to try to say that Trump CAN limit the freedom of the press:
https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/918692439623266304And then admits that the standard doesn’t apply:
https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/918694663736901640None of this makes any sense AT ALL. If he wants the press to be left alone, then WHY is he bashing Sasse for telling the president that he can’t shut down the press?
How is not obvious that Hannity doesn’t care to rationally argue anything, but that he’s simply defending Trump no matter what?
