Sean Spicer was as defiant as ever in the White House presser today when he was asked about Trump’s comment that anyone who hasn’t committed a crime doesn’t need immunity.
He had a message to Mike Flynn from Trump too.
Watch below:
Basically, it was “go testify.” Spicer is presenting a White House that isn’t scared at all by what Flynn might say, contrary to those who are hoping that he would *bring down* the White House. And he said that he had absolutely no legal advice for Flynn about asking for immunity. The reporter pointed out that Trump in fact had tweeted legal advice to Flynn:
Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!

Here’s the comment by Trump that the reporter was talking about:
In 2016, then-candidate Trump asked his crowds, “If you're not guilty of a crime, what do you need immunity for?" https://t.co/vl9sW1Njq1 pic.twitter.com/a8i3691MTO

So I’m guessing that Flynn might have done this at the behest of Trump once again seize headlines by the throat. Here’s why I think the immunity request might not be such a big deal.
The Senate Intelligence Committee denied the request:
The Senate Intel Committee has reportedly rejected Mike Flynn's request for immunity in exchange for an interview. https://t.co/xDiBwNq5KC

Presumably, they’re not complete idiots, and asked him what information he’s willing to offer. They must not have thought it was of much value, or it was information they already had. Either way, this could turn out to be one big fat nothing….
