UPDATED: ROLL CALL VOTE ADDED – Senate debt-limit deal passes with strong RINO support: 81-18

Ugh:

FOX NEWS – The Senate voted Wednesday to advance a short-term bill to end the partial government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling, as House Republican leaders indicated they were ready to back down on their demands that the legislation rein in ObamaCare.

The bill cleared a vital test vote 83-16, virtually assuring it would clear the chamber on the final vote, which is underway next. It would go next to the House.

The bill, to the dismay of some conservatives, does not include any major provisions pertaining to the health care law. But, with the House a day earlier unable to muster support for an alternate GOP plan, bipartisan Senate negotiators pushed the new proposal Wednesday afternoon.

The text of the plan was released shortly before the Senate started the vote series. As the votes began, the White House released a statement saying the president would support the bill.

If the Senate and House approve the bill, it will go to President Obama for his signature — and put an end, for now, to the historic showdown that has kept the government partly shuttered for more than two weeks. Putting additional pressure on lawmakers to reach an agreement, Congress was facing a Thursday deadline to raise the debt ceiling.

Sources indicate that the bill could attract enough support on the House side.

It’s also being reported that $2 billion was added to the so-called ‘clean’ CR for the state of Kentucky, requested by Lamar Alexander, Dianne Feinstein, and Obama. The Blaze also points out that this is a project McConnell has championed in the past and some feel he has a lot to do with getting it in the now dirty CR. READ MORE HERE…

I’ll post the vote on this as soon as it is up.

UPDATE: And it’s up:
