Sheila Jackson Lee says Healthcare should be a constitutional right

report this ad

Sheila Jackson Lee believes that healthcare being a constitutional right leads to a more perfect union or something. Also, because healthcare is part of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness…

WTF is that wookie wearing?!?  WHERE does a wookie go to PURCHASE those things…or does she actually wear what she kills???

    • Las1

BrianJones1   And by the looks of things, what she’s wearing isn’t even dead yet.
I’ll never ever forget her dumb performance during the Peter King hearings on Counterterrorism.  Democrats!  On the wrong side of everything.

      • BetseyRoss

Las1 BrianJones1 At least they are consistent.

It looks like 12th Century body armor or something. Good Grief! And with a pink scarf! Egad…Oh, and ya can’t forget that ubiquitous coronet…she just wouldn’t be the African queen (or wannabe African queen) without her coronet…as for what the he** she was jabbering about? Quien sabe?

It should be our Constitutional right not to hear this idiot speak anymore.

I can’t click on that video.  I just can’t make myself do it.  We just got back from a tea party meeting and one of our members must lobby Congress a couple of times a year for his association.  He is a small business owner.  He tells us of his experiences when he goes.  It’s pretty depressing because you usually look up to your Congress Critters and he comes back and tells us what has happened.  His assessment as he talks to many of them not just ours.  They are stupid, lazy, uninformed, have more to do than necessary, allow their staff to do most of their work, never read the bills and live in the DC bubble that they can’t seem to extricate themselves from.  So by that message Sheila Jackson Lee fits right in.

    • cabensg

BetseyRoss  I don’t doubt the business owners assessment but there is no such thing as all of them. There never is. There are those who are lazy, uninformed and let their staff do all their work. Then there are a few who take their job seriously, try to do their best and keep their constituents informed. I understand these are far and few between but I have to give those few the credit they deserve.

  • JimJames1

    Like the 2nd Amendment, Maxine?

  • Longiron

One of the dumbest people in this country being elected by dumb lo info voters that keep them on the plantation. RS like Tingles why do U give this moron a platform when their is so much more important news out their ?

  • njmom

If you were really concerned about the Constitution Ms. Jackson you would’nt have voted for it in the first place, but I guess like Nancy Pelosi you didn’t bother to read it before voting for it.

    • njmom It wasn’t translated into Swahili

  • Jim25

I can’t believe this lady is from Texas of all places! How many of you even knew that?

    • UnCL3

Jim25 She’s from the Houston ghetto area…figure it out. We Dallas folk disclaim Houston and Austin.

    • MaroonRepublic

Crackhead district. She makes it a habit to abuse the English language on a daily basis.

      • Orangeone

MaroonRepublic Are there a lot of illegal aliens voting in her district too?

        • SilentTexan

Orangeone MaroonRepublic Not to sound rascist here (uh-oh) but it is a predominately black district.
And another problem, no one challenges her! I think they had one other person last year, but lo and behold, they choose this scum with the weave. You can’t fix stupid! -_-

Methinks the last American to leave that area of Texas took the flag and turned the lights out a long time ago.

        • SilentTexan Orangeone MaroonRepublic Why they never un-gerryminded the district is beyond me. All the remaining should have equal representation of ghetto trash in their district.

  • JohnSchaffran

Democrats on life.  Well how about recent events like Benghazi.  Did the left endorse life then?  Does the left want to put that crazy bastard Gosnell front and center for what he did?  Liberty?   This is the party that wants to take away what we eat, drink, drive, etc.  Pursuit of happiness?  Tell me what makes a liberal happy?  I know.  Destroying an American who likes Jesus, traditional family, guns, etc.  Get lost Sheila.  You have no credibility!

  • UnCL3

What a f***ing idiot. Way to go, Houston.

    • SilentTexan

It’s not all of Texas voting for this tramp. It’s the ghetto outside Houston.
The majority of the state picks better people than this.

        • Jim25 toongoon SilentTexan UnCL3 Well then, by golly, get rid of that ghetto. Set it on fire or something, but get rid of it. Perhaps Terminix could help, call’em

Rep. Lee fails to understand the very fundamental idea of the Constitution.  Socialism is not found there.

  • nosilasunny

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are not Constitutional rights, they are God given rights as stated in the Declaration of Independence. Second, “healthcare” to the founders was basically being bled by leeches, whiskey, herbs and home remedies. Doctors were scarce and treatment by one was expensive. It is ridiculous to think this would have been considered a right. And it still isn’t and shouldn’t be now.

  • firegeorge

Oh, the genius that is chubby triple crown weave.  Who voted for this idiot?

Maybe having Ted Cruz as a senator can in some small way make up for having She-Jac in the congress. She is a total and complete nimrod. Almost as bad as the Rep who thought Guam would capsize, at one briefing, she famously wanted to NASA to pan over to where the astronauts planted the flag–only they were looking at Mars, not the moon. http://www.frugal-cafe.com/public_html/frugal-blog/frugal-cafe-blogzone/2012/08/07/idiot-democrat-rep-sheila-jackson-lee-confuses-the-moon-landing-with-the-curiosity-mars-landing-you-voted-for-her-texas-video/

    • nosilasunny

Congressman “Guam” aka Hank Johnson and Sheila here must be in some sort of competition to be the stupidest member of Congress because he was opining about a world without balloons and helium the other day. She is simply trying to gain the upperhand. Unfortunately for those in Georgia being represented by Johnson, the Senators are nothing like Sen. Cruz. Not that I think they care since they keep voting for him.

      • Jim25

Hey, I’m not represented by Hank Johnson but I’m in Georgia. If you mean voting him in many of us would never do that but he got a liberal district and they keep voting him in despite or because of his stupidity :O, if you mean Chambliss and Isakson I’m aware they’re nothing like Ted Cruz, I didn’t have a chance to vote for Saxby and aren’t proud of voting for Isakson. We’re about to replace Saxby with Paul Broun in the upcoming election.

        • nosilasunny

Hey fellow Georgian! I don’t live in his district either thank God. I am right there with you in replacing Chambliss. Iasakson will have his day too. I was referring to the fact that the op said at least her constituents have Cruz as a Senator. Can’t say that in Georgia unfortunately.

Roxana Mayer, a Texas Obama delegate and member of Organizing for
America, Barack Obama’s political organization, attended a healthcare
townhall with Democrat U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee. The
organizer told the audience she was a physician and presented herself as
speaking for physicians. Turns out she was a fake.

  • famouswolf

Strange, I thought being able to provide healthcare for myself of my own choosing was my Constitutional right, without interference from Big Brother or, ahem, little sister. Not that I think of you as the same species and thus find you ineligible to be my sister,  sheila.

  • JoelDick

I suppose “life, liberty, and the persuit of happyness (sic)” also includes education, housing, a car (because why should some people be forced to walk through snow and ice to get to where they need to go?), healthy food (obesity is a problem and investing in a helathy diet for our most needy will save the country money in the long run through increased productivity and lower health costs), a tv/entertainment system (after all, leasure should not be reserved only for the affluent – everyone needs to relax), Internet service (a source of knowledge and information, plus studies show that countries such as Sweden and Denmark that have a higher access to the web have a higher standard of living), child care (because the early years of life are the most important – let’s do it for the children’s sake), clean air and water (because the environment is ours to guard), as well as the other nessesities of life that our middle class (read: anyone not earning over $100k) struggles so desperately to afford. Surely, the founders would have agreed that the government has a responsibility to provide these things.
Then again, we can let people take responsibility for their own lives. Naa, it’s easier to take, take, take.

    • JoelDick

      This is born Socialism.

    • NCHokie02

JoelDick exactly….the problem with that is that who defines “happiness”?  Who defines “general welfare”, the government thats who.

  • tinlizzieowner

“Also, because healthcare is part of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness…”
I’ll bet ‘bling wheels’ on your Lambo and tons of gold jewelry make you happy too Twit, are they ‘rights’ (taxpayers should provide for you) too?

    • TimeForAnarchy

tinlizzieowner They’re “rights” so long as someone other than SJL pays for them.

  • SurfinCowboy

I’m down Shelia! Start drafting your Amendment, I am *sure* it will fly through with the support of 2/3rds of both houses of Congress and 3/4ths of the States (or their legislatures)!!
    You are SO smart!
Heck, while you’re at it, pass another one restricting the 2nd Amendment, cuz you know that your gun control dreams will be dashed like those of DC when it met Heller…
Heck 90% support right? What could possibly go wrong?
    Nincompoop. Maroon.
(Pssst – Just so you know Sheila, two can play  at that game. Wait until the States start calling for direct conventions to pass Amendments that TAKE AWAY your *supposed* powers. Golly, a redefinition of what the Commerce Clause and the Necessary and Proper Clause actually mean would really bum you and your little drunken tyrants out huh? Think it is so hard Sheila? Read Article V again… 2/3 of the States (or their legislatures – gee, aren’t there around 30 in the R column right now?) for proposal, and then 3/4 for ratification. And yes Shelia, you read that right – NO involvement from Congress WHATSOEVER.)
Clever Founders – they left and emergency button in there didn’t they?

  • ChrisDias

Come to Hungary – see how we think over here. Glenn Beck might say, “You’re gonna love it!”

  • maorrantia

I think libs/progs think health care is a human right, like all the other developed nations. Why do you think vets like me want VA care? Seniors want their gov’t paid Medicare? This isn’t a surprising statement.

    • notebene

maorrantia First of all, thank you for serving our country!  I am going to assume you have never walked into VA hospital before, or you would quickly realize that how our nation treats our military is a crying shame.  Sheila here, and her ilk will not be participating in Odumbocare and they have voted themselves a nice cushy plan for themselves and their families…on our dime!  They are the ones who wrote Odumbocare for the rest of us, yet they do not want it for themselves!  That should make you pause!  If anyone in this country deserves the best healthcare…it is our service men and women!  Not Sheila and her merry band of leaches!  All who pushed this horrible healthcare plan on our nation…the elite, the unions, and big corporations….are waivering out of it!  If it is so great…why?!  Government will NEVER be the answer to the healthcare issue…they can’t even deliver the mail without going bankrupt!

  • notebene

How about we take the chains off of our businesses so that people can actually work to get the things they need, instead of being unemployed and sucking off of our bloated and inefficient government, Sheila?!  Thanks to your imagined right my family can barely afford our healthcare policy and it now covers very little!  Sheila…government couldn’t efficiently deliver the mail and you expect citizens to trust it with our health?  I have witnessed first hand how the government treats our Veterans’ healthcare…and I wouldn’t let them touch my dogs!  Government that is as over bloated and out of touch as this one, needs to be cut down to size…starting with ignoramuses like Sheila!

  • NCHokie02

At first I thought she was going to say she could go through the 2000 pages of the bill, but then she mentioned the year and I figured that she hasn’t read it either.
Then she mentioned the Declaration of Indepandance, while a historic and noble document it has no legal bindings whatsoever.  It is what is says it is a declaration, to England, of the Indepandance of the colonies.
At least she recognized that healthcare wasn’t in the Constitution, however that means………THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NOT BUSINESS OR AUTHORITY TO ACT IN ANY SUCH CAPACITY!!!  If you want it in the Constitution, call for a constitutional convention and then 3/4’s of the house and senate ratify it and then 3/4’s of the states.  Good luck with that seeing as how Congress already exempted themselves and everyone is running from this bill as fast as they can the closer it comes to going into effect.

    • Bac Si68

NCHokie02 The last thing I think she ever read was Dick & Jane, and probably never finished that.

I notice the democrats are very willing to discuss Rights, but they never have a conversation about Responsibilities. Some get Rights, seemingly, someone else gets Responsibility.

  • Rshill7

I hold this truth to be self-evident, that Sheila J. Lee’s constituents don’t know the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground. That might be why they chose Lee…she’s both.

  • TxGold

Are the people in Houston proud of that?!!!!!!!!!!

    • E Lee Zimmerman

      TxGold Allah is.

  • Since when did it become your right for someone else to pay  for that right???  The electorate in Houston must be pretty  much as brain dead as this moron Sheila Jackson Lee is.  The real horror is the U.S. Congress is about 80%-90% brain dead morons and We the People get stuck with the bill.

It is not just narrow.  It is surgical in its precision.

The Constitution is an inconvenience to this Socialist.

    • JungleCogs

More than an inconvenience, Democrats hate it; it prevents them from their totalitarian plans.  That was the intent of the Framers, but Democrats don’t play by the rules.

  • yazz55

She should be entitled to the right to apply only to the death panels for her obamacare.

  • Laurel A

That moron is only voicing aloud what the entire left of this country believe. She is an ugly ignorant mouth piece.

  • IvanCardona

She gives force to the argument that you should have at least half a brain to vote. Health care is not a right bestowed by government. We are responsible for our own health. Those that get welfare benefits can give up at least a dollar for their care from their checks; this means a cutback on the size of their flat screen tv sets and other luxuries enjoyed by the so-called poor who live it up on tax payer’s money.

  • PapaLouie

Does this idiot realize that making healthcare a constitutional “right” would mean putting slavery back into the Constitution? If healthcare professionals must be at your beck and call 24/7 to provide you with healthcare whenever you want it, whether you can pay them or not, they are slaves. For them to deny you healthcare under any circumstances would be depriving you of your rights. But this would deprive medical professionals of their rights.
Lee would argue that the government will pay for their labor. But government doesn’t have money of its own. To pay them a fair wage, government would have to take the money from someone else. That means enslaving workers to make them pay for the healthcare of those who refuse to work. Why should workers have to not only pay taxes to cover their own healthcare but also pay for all government overhead and for the healthcare of everyone else who doesn’t pay taxes? How is that fair?
